Regardless of whether you support Ukraine or not, most honest observers concede that Ukraine is rife with corruption and political figures eager to feed at the public trough. Ukraine commonly is described as the most corrupt nation in Europe.
Well, I have bad news for President Zelensky and his fellow Ukrainians — you can’t hold a candle to the political brothel that is Washington. When I moved to the Washington, DC area in 1979 (I started off in a small townhouse in Chevy Chase, Maryland) there were no Lamborghini, Ferrari, or Bentley car dealerships. The ironically named Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland was lily white and made a practice of excluding blacks and Jews. Luxury stores like Saks Fifth Avenue were rare. That was then.
Today, the Washington, DC metropolitan area, which includes Montgomery and Prince Georges counties in Maryland and Alexandria and Arlington in Virginia, is populated with luxurious automobile dealerships and the kind of high end retail stores normally seen on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California or 5th Avenue in New York City. What changed?
The business of selling influence in Washington, DC went nuclear. I am not suggesting that DC was a temple of morality and frugality prior to the 1980s. There always have been lobbyists lurking around the halls of Congress passing out money and buying favors. But it started growing like a cancer during the Clinton Administration and exploded when George W. Bush came to office. The wealthy discovered they could set up 501 c3 “charitable” corporations as a great tax dodge. “Think Tanks” began to pop up, again funded by corporate interests keen on having studies published that would advance their interests.
The revolving door twirled at light speed. What is the “revolving door?” It is a term describing how Congressional staffers get jobs in a new Presidential administration or at a prominent think tank like the Brookings Institute and then move on to jobs in the media or with lobbying firms. Then there are the “Beltway Bandits,” a term coined to describe the private and public companies that clamor for U.S. Government contracts and grants. A huge portion of these are defense contractors, but there are also firms catering to the pharmaceutical, tobacco, liquor, food and health industries.
When I joined the CIA in 1985, the Agency kept most of its business in house. There were some contractors, but they constituted a handful. That changed in the 1990s. The CIA started to out source analysis and other functions to companies like SAIC. Just ask Edward Snowden. He spent some time with the CIA but logged more hours as a contractor.
It is money and moneyed interests that is driving the policy train in Washington, especially when it comes to the Department of Defense. Members of Congress are especially eager to line their pockets. The Gateway Pundit published a piece today reporting that members of Congress who invested in Wall Street beat the market by a wide margin in 2022:
The S&P 500 was down 18% in 2022. Democrats were only down 1.76% and Republicans were up .389% on the year.
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/01/corruption-members-congress-beat-sp-500-many-made-unusual-trades-resulting-huge-gains/
This is a bipartisan list. It is populated with Democrats and Republicans. How is it that they are such shrewd investors? Trading on insider information perhaps?
Then there is the fundraising behemoth. My inbox is being flooded today with pleas for money from aspiring Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, Hakeem Jeffries (the Democrat nominee for Speaker) and Andy Biggs, who ran against McCarthy.
Here is McCarthy’s plea for cash:
Unsubscribe | Mark as Junk Larry, Kevin McCarthy here. I’ll keep this huddle brief. Voters across the nation called on us to put a stop to Biden’s ridiculous anti-America agenda – but if we miss our critical fundraising deadline we are going to fail. The Left is outraising and outspending us. Biden’s cronies are raking in huge sums of cash and spending it on some of the most contentious issues facing Americans today to ensure that middle class, red-blooded Americans drown. I’m only sending this hail mary to the most loyal patriots because I know you won’t let us down. This is your last chance to help House Republicans make it to the endzone. It’s game over without you. It’s all up to you. If you ignore our pleas and drop the ball, then our chances of stopping Biden and Schumer’s radical agenda are gone. Can you rush $8 by midnight to help us stand up for America and stop the left in their tracks? RUSH EMERGENCY SUPPORTGIVE $8 |
House GOP’s Commitment to America ✅ Rein in the IRS ✅ Secure the Border ✅ Fund the Police ✅ Unleash American Energy ✅ Secure our Elections ✅ Curb Inflation & Spending ✅Pass the Parents Bill of Rights ✅Hold Joe Biden AccountableARE YOU IN? |
And here is Hakeem Jeffries beggar request:
Larry, Republicans have now failed eight times to elect a Speaker of the House. This hasn’t happened in over 100 years. I’ll be blunt: Republicans are incapable of governing. And they’re putting politics over the American people. But if Democrats stick together in this historic moment, we have an opportunity to show how powerful we are. So, I’m still calling for 1,500 more donations to show that Democrats are united and ready to lead our country. Please, help me reach this important goal by 11:59 PM. I’m counting on you >> If you’ve saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:Chip in $1 immediately >> Chip in $35 immediately >> Chip in $50 immediately >> Chip in $100 immediately >> Chip in $250 immediately >> Or chip in another amount >> Keep the faith, Hakeem |
Why do these two men need more money? The contest for Speaker of House does not require advertising or campaign workers or a get out the vote effort. The answer is simple — they want to hold enough money to buy influence with other members of Congress. It is the modern version of the Golden Rule — those with the gold make the rules.
So the next time you hear a U.S. politician lament the corruption is some foreign country, I give you permission to execute a belly laugh and call them hypocrites. The United States is a gang of rock throwers that live in a glass house. I am hoping, perhaps naively, that the war in Ukraine will fully expose the corruption and hypocrisy that infests Washington, DC like a pack of ravenous rats.
Larry you’re dead right, but this is part of a bigger picture. Baseball might once have been America’s national game but these days it’s The Hustle. As an outsider looking in all I see are hustlers trying to find a fresh mark to rip off.
There are political hustlers, as above, race hustlers, gender hustlers, media hustlers, celebrity hustlers, real estate hustlers, finance hustlers, think tank hustlers, academic hustlers, military hustlers; the list goes on and on. But they all have one thing in common – everything they do, say and think is part of their hustle and the mark is anyone who has money is his or her pocket that they’re not using at that moment.
Here’s a ready made example from Telegram of an international hustle by the masters of the game:
“Some of the capital of major Ukrainian companies and international funds for Ukraine’s reconstruction will be moved offshore and transferred to the United States of America. The US-headquartered investment company BlackRock is planning to do this. According to RT, back in November, it took control of the Ukraine Recovery Fund. This company reports directly to the US Federal Reserve and actively cooperates with the Soros financial empire and other billionaires in the West.
“BlackRock operates in Ukraine through a network of subsidiaries and proxies. RT’s source at the National Bank of Ukraine believes that one part of the Western investments will be spent as intended, while the other part will be taken offshore and returned to the US under the guise of donor aid to the Democratic Party.
“BlackRock has already taken control of a number of former assets belonging to Ukrainian oligarchs. Among them are Metinvest, DTEK Naftogaz, Ukrzaliznytsia, and Ukrenergo. They were sold at auction to American companies. In late December last year, Zelenskyy had a series of meetings with BlackRock’s management to discuss the details of its work and their projects.”
If you look up the word “hustler” in the dictionary you’ll find a picture of Zelensky counting his fingers after shaking hands with Biden.
Thank you. I follow you on various you tube sites. https://jmatsonheininger.substack.com/archive
Washington is way beyond any meaningful reform. It MUST collapse!!
So long as it doesn’t take the rest of us with it.
“The tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time by the blood of patriots.” – Jefferson
Hard to say Jefferson is wrong. Until the people are willing to sacrifice health and happiness, we will not have liberty. If in the days ahead the United States of America is declared defunct, null and void, but we do not root out the corruption that brought it down, whatever replaces it will be no better–and likely worse (although one may be forgiven for believing that an impossibility). If, on the other hand, Washington, London, and Brussels reverse course on Russia and Ukraine but we don’t root out the corruption, we’ll remain enslaved. In either scenario, then, we must actively prosecute corruption if we are to have a say in our destinies.
If collapse is inevitable and necessary, we have some say in how it will unfold. And we must be able to clearly explain why it happened: we’d better, because the elitists will bombard us with their version, their “truth”, to pin the blame on someone else. We ought also plan for what comes after. Jefferson’s advocacy of limited government again seems wise advice as we witness the destruction wrought by unlimited government.
The Yankee Declaration of Independence signatories were a bunch of elites. The American populace were against revolution by 2 to 1.
Once again, the rich win. Nothing new.
Wealthy Colonials were against the new taxes for the French/Indian wars fought to protect the American people. Paid for by the British crown.
The rich got richer. Welcome to America.
I dispute your characterization of the American Revolution, but Jefferson was fabulously wealthy. Do you think that invalidates his ideas? Marx was a bum, a leech, and a self-pitying jerk, but that’s not why I generally reject his ideas.
What are your ideas? Do you believe men and women can and should govern themselves, or do you think paternalism is unavoidable? Are you for or against big government? Do you feel big government is OK as long as the right people are in charge? How do you think we should approach this mess we’re in? Do you see a road ahead, or is there no hope at all?
I’m genuinely curious.
Hi Jim S 03.29
Reply buttons have sort of run out.
What , as an American, is your view of the American Revolution ?
To me it seemed about the French and Indian War taxes , as discussed, and the loss of trade with France, the wealthiest country in Europe at that time.
Money.
What does America , from the Gilded Age to the Mafia, owe to this ?
I dispute your dispute of characterization of the American Revolution. American Revolution is revolution as much as American football is football. In rest-of-the-world revolutions, poor people rise up because they can’t take it no more. In US brand revolutions, slaveowners rise up because they want lower taxes. Those that want another American Revolution should try to make Jeff Bezos pay higher taxes (or any taxes, for that matter).
Love it when someone here says something that totally makes sense rather than the usual myths we have all been led to believe.
I too would dispute those 2:1 numbers (but we’re on the same page on this topic!). I’ve read and heard via passdown from family that it was more like 1/3 for, 1/3 against, and 1/3 didn’t care one way or the other. Unlike Larry, my ancestors left for Canada during the Revolution.
Hurrah for the Revolution. There was enough support among the people to endure 7 years of struggle. With many of those years characterized by defeat after defeat. The people who supported the revolution and won are the ones that matter.
Someone here commented that it was 1/3 for, 1/3 against and 1/3 indifferent. Thats probably about right. You can argue until the cows come home and inject class struggle bitterness and rage against “the rich” into the mix if you want. I think that is more caricature than serious insight .
We could also mention the religious revival that swept the colonies in the years prior to the revolution as having a role in shaping thinking. It’s just possible that average people in that day were simply more serious minded than we can imagine in our frivolous times.
In the end, after a bitter, hard fought struggle the British were defeated. One of the founders said that only a moral, virtuous people can be free. As our freedoms evaporate, we can reflect on that.
TRUTH! TY
Since my view of the world is strongly influenced by my engineering degree based on understanding and using the natural forces which “guide” us, I do think that Jefferson’s thoughts are based on correct observations of human history. However we have to take into account that the mass of people (center of the Gaussian bell curve) are focused on daily survival (remember, pay check to pay check), feeding and raising their kids, no time for political games. Without this “mass” or “center of societal gravity” we would not have a civilization. This “stoic” mass we would not have the continuity of daily life (water, food, electricity, etc.). On that point Marx was absolutely correct; the economic are driving humans forward!
The center only start to move if their survival is threatened. We are not there yet but on the way to it. Therefore the strong propaganda we are seeing.
The entire beltway could fall into a sinkhole and the net effect would be like purging a tapeworm. We will get stronger and healthier.
@another steve
Penalty card, answering a question with a question. Ha! Seriously though, if you address my questions, I may address yours.
And for grant, Rogue, Rebel Wop as well: assuming for the sake of argument that the US Constitution is nothing but a scam, how do you think government should be organized? What is the best balance between government and the people? Is Jefferson wrong in believing the people must fight for their own liberty? Is Jefferson wrong in advocating limited central government?
All of you are doubtless more educated and intelligent than I. What ideas must we promote, what actions must we take in order to recover sanity to this world?
He’s not actually here to engage in thoughtful discussion. He is an agent of chaos, or MI-6. Same thing really.
Since I’ve started paying closer attention to commentators, I have noticed he’s been on quite the doomer streak, and others too of course. But surely other fellow readers are legitimately having similar thoughts even if he’s trolling, and this seems an appropriate comment section in which to raise these questions.
I must correct myself on Jefferson: he didn’t merely say people must fight for liberty, he said that people must make sacrifices if they are to have liberty. Some things can only be had dearly, not cheaply. While I can appreciate the “line the politicians against the wall and be done with it” sentiment, it’s not anywhere near sufficient if we really want to return to sanity.
We currently see that concentrations of wealth (Big Business) are taking control of big government. How will smaller government be able to control Big Business?
Getting mad at “Government” is like getting mad at a ventriloquist’s dummy. The dummy (government) does nothing that isn’t determined by the ventriloquist (big business). If you remove the dummy it will just be replaced by a shiny new one that says and does the same things.
The only way to stay truly independent is by getting rid of all concentrations of power. Remember the adage “money is power”. If you want to rid us of Big Government and replace it with a small and fair limited government you also need to rid us of Big Business and replace it with small entrepreneurs. Any examples from history as how to accomplish this?
JimS After the last 3 years of all that is going down is it that big a deal to question if an event 200 plus years ago might not be as it seemed?Myths aren’t necessarily scams.
Patrick Henry was right. He smelled a rat. The US Constitution is a power centralizing document. Tomorrow if the Russian government falls, there will still be Russians. If the French government falls (immigration not withstanding) there will still be the French. But if the US governments falls, what will there be? A giant CF.
Concur… Constitutional Convention was an illegal coup. The author and historian Gary North wrote about it.
Well if Gary North wrote about it .. I guess thats the final word
Sorry but this is absurd. Who seriously believes there’s no such thing as The American People? MAGA is proof to the contrary.
This is British propaganda.
MAGA is trumpist propaganda. That is not a proof at all.
“The American People” is … arrggg. America is a continent. You are USA, not “A”.
So you are not the “american people”. You are the “people of the USA”.
You are a country with only 250 years of history.
A country made of “States” …
So other good thing it will be that you will have to stop using the name of the whole continent for your private use. You will call yourself “californians”, “texaners” .. whatever, but not “americans”.
PS: Don’t get mad at me. I know we will not see this, don’t worry ,)
(And it is great to change opinions with people of the whole world, on matters that affect the whole world. Well, I think we should find people from China :))
> You are a country with only 250 years of history.
So what? Everyone has to start somewhere. Are you going to argue that there’s no such thing as the Brasilian people? Or the Mexican people? They are even younger.
For that matter where’s the cutoff? Russia is ‘only’ 1,200 years old, Portugal a ‘mere’ 630 years old; both of whom pale in comparison to Iran or China. We don’t need you to gate-keep who is and who is not a people, thanks.
> MAGA is trumpist propaganda. That is not a proof at all.
I think you know nothing about us. The fact is this movement has been around for a LONG time, albeit by different names: the Militia movement, the Tea Party. And that’s just in my lifetime. All Trump did was show this movement that it needs to be FOR something and not just AGAINST something.
“> You are a country with only 250 years of history.
So what? Everyone has to start somewhere.”
The problem is that your “somewhere”, is white men coming from other places and killing 99% of the native inhabitants. It is a real “start from scratch”.
When you say that Portugal is only 630 years old .. you really have no idea what your are saying (I’m Spanish, so I know Portugal a bit): the “state” with the name “Portugal”, it may be “only” 630 years old. But the people living there .. they are there for thousand years (can an American brain like yours grasp that number?). When the Roman Empire conquered the Iberian Peninsula, the Romans did not kill all the natives as the English did in North America. Of course firstly they killed the natives and secondly they enslaved them, but in the end, they mixed with them.
That is why there were emperors in Rome from other places than Rome, like Trajan (from the “Spain” of that time).
That is why Portuguese and Spanish languages belong to the very same family as Italian, and French. (That does not happen with English and Iroquois, right?). That is why if you say “the Lusitanian country”, everybody knows you mean Portugal. The Lusitani, although they fought fiercely against the Romans, were not exterminated. (And that is why Latin evolved to Portuguese in Portugal, and it evolved to other 3 different languages in Spain).
When the Goths arrived, the same. They ruled over the present mix of native Iberians and Romans.
When the Arabs arrived and conquered the Iberian Peninsula again .. again there was a mix. There was no extermination and complete replacement.
So, as you can see, the Europeans, who have killed and fought each other for thousand years .. we are a “family” (at least, there are some “families”. Portugal Spain and Italy and France, one of them, we could say we are “cousins”), and we can trace back our ancestors for 2000 years at least. Maybe not so old as China? Yes. But it is much more than 250 years.
“We don’t need you to gate-keep who is and who is not a people, thanks.”
I don’t do it! Why should I? I’m only an “observer”. Trying to learn about normal people like me, not about X-men or avengers.
I just read here comments from people from the south complaining about the “yanks” in the north.
What I know of your History, together with those comments here, together with the colors of the states election after election .. well, it makes me think that maybe you are not so “united” as we are in each European country. But this is just an observation, an opinion, not a fact.
“I think you know nothing about us”
With so much movies and propaganda coming from your country, so many news on tv channels of anything happening in your country (specially massive shootings) .. well, of course I’m not an expert, but so little as “nothing” (plus all what I’m reading here for the last weeks) ..
Ok, you are right. MAGA comes from tea party, and tea party comes from .. whatever (you see the difference of “evolution” between Europe and USA?).
But I think it doesn’t matter the name of it: I still see here messages from people from the south showing deep contempt for the north. (And I have heard about the contempt in the north for the “rednecks” in the south). Radicals like Trump cannot unite you, I’m sorry. (Again only my opinion).
> I just read here comments from people from the south complaining about the “yanks” in the north. What I know of your History, together with those comments here, together with the colors of the states election after election .. well, it makes me think that maybe you are not so “united” as we are in each European country. But this is just an observation, an opinion, not a fact.
You only know our history at a surface level. A deeper reading of our history shows that the British ruling class has been sowing divisions ever since Bacon’s Rebellion. 100 years before the Declaration of Independence all of America – all races and most classes – were united against them. They freaked out and instituted the Virginia Slave Codes. We all know what happened after that…
Also to claim that there aren’t deep divisions in European countries is laughable. The two main poles of European financial capitalism – the UK and The Netherlands – have deep divisions.
> When you say that Portugal is only 630 years old .. you really have no idea what your are saying
If you say so. My ancestor was at Aljubarrota fighting for João. Then, as now, you had a few peasants fighting for independence against foreign elites. And then, as now, their arrogance and hubris will be their undoing.
> Trump cannot unite you, I’m sorry.
He united the people that count. MAGA is beyond Trump now.
The weasel McCarthy failed for the 11th time tonight. Expect a more urgent plea tomorrow, Larry, from both this bozo and the jackals salivating at the prospect of defeating him. A strange side effect of the corruption extravaganza on the Potomac: it lightens my concerns about thermonuclear war since I know Washington would be among the first places vaporized.
They need to stop calling the holdouts “terrorists” like Crenshaw was blabbering about.
If McCarthy wants the speakership he needs to make some deals on the border, Ukraine and spending, as well as real investigations into 2020, the midterms, FBI malfeasance. And the Biden Crime Family.
This is how we get not only things like windmills, solar panels, the war on coal and electric cars forced on us, but also things that have a long-term effect like power deregulation which primarily benefits financial interests.
You can see what happens in California fairly regularly, last winter in Texas and most recently in Ohio. What was wrong with power companies owning their own power plants and making sure there was adequate power generation within their territory? I know what was wrong with it, the banksters couldn’t get a piece of the action.
What’s comical is when you price out electricity now that we live under this great model of deregulation. 99% of the time it’s cheaper to buy it through the power company then through any of the so-called third party providers.
We have suckers in government and that’s how these things keep getting foisted on us.
Never give money to a party, just directly to the candidate! But you know that already.
Corruption, wow, maybe the most corrupt in the world. Money (bribery) buys everything. When the Bolsheviks in Bathrobes declared that corporations share the same advantages and rights as people, and they declared that corporations also have as much right to bribe the political class as people do, everything rapidly went to shit. The People are no longer represented.
Corporate money and revolving doors now run everything. Food, agriculture, pharma, sugar, security, banking, etc.
There is no recourse available. The US Constitution has failed to protect citizens from a diabolical plotting government. The representation is gone, and the judicial branch is part of the government! The 3-way agreement now provides nothing to defend the average taxpayer.
It’s a fool‘s errand to give money to any candidate or PAC. You are only encouraging corruption.
Better to give to a local Church community that you believe in. When the inevitable collapse arrives, it our local Church communities will protect civilization.
Amen
It isn’t corruption when it is made legal (with money sourced in ways that are retroactively no longer corruption).
It is the mecca of neoliberalism. And behind all interests, MIC included, are the big financial groups! The owners of New America!
Sooo… 11 vote attempts to choose a House Speaker. The most since 1855/1856. Pure coincidence? Is the 3rd American revolution around the corner?
Shouldn’t that read 11 attempts to install the same candidate…? 😉
Doesn’t look to me like there’s much happening except bludgeoning their heads as against the wall hoping something changes..
Had no idea how interesting that time period was!

Larry, your last line is on the money (no pun intended). I don’t think you’re being naive at all.
There’s an air of panic and desperation in how the US Congress has tried to prop up the Kiev regime, since the Russian SMO started.
A lot of criminality has occurred in Ukraine involving Congress members, and these DC corruptocrats know everything risks being exposed if their puppets fall.
Trump did the US a huge service in exposing the crooks and their paid liars – but he was in America and fighting their swamp. At least for now, they’ve been able to bring him down.
Putin and his team aren’t in America, though. They cannot be controlled or influenced by the US Swamp. This time, the Swamp has zero leverage over the Russian leadership, and is paying with a much weaker hand.
These crooks in Congress, all the way up to the illegitimate Biden regime, are terrified. So they should be.
“Putin and his team … cannot be controlled or influenced by the US Swamp.”
I read years ago (don’t know how well enforced or even how true, only 1 source) that senior government officials in the Russian Federation were forbidden from owning ANY property abroad. A RF citizen could go for either wealth abroad or direct political power at home, but not both. This means that the usual neoliberal paradigm of {private money = public power, $ being used to fund both carrot and stick to control the individuals in authority (government officials)} doesn’t work in Russia.
Ethnocentrism is an evolved sapient behavior, rooted in the survival and reproductive advantage of ‘safety in numbers’. One end of the spectrum (greater numbers and greater diversity on one end, fewer numbers and less diversity on the other end) is you want to be in the biggest group to provide the most safety. However, the bigger the group, the more diversity within it, and consequently the more instability undermining maintenance of the protective advantage of the group. The more diversity within, the more authoritarian governance is required to FORCE the subgroups to cooperate. So the other end of the spectrum is the complete homogeneity of small groups.
Current-year America and Denmark are examples of the two ends of the spectrum. Being subjects of current-year America provides ZERO protective advantage to the members of Heritage American nations. We would be better off without it. Denmark is still Danish, and doing fine, but only because there is no external threat that would invade and destroy them. The neolib/cons would have us believe that Russia is that threat, but it is a lie to distract us while they import our replacements.
Bygone WASP federal America and the current-year Russian Federation are examples of the middle of the spectrum, a good balance between numerical size and stabilizing homogeneity. The whole point of lower case ‘r’ republican government, federal and confederal governments, is to MANAGE diversity in ways that keep disparate groups cooperating for their common good. Wise federal leaders like Vlad Putin use law to prevent enemies or even the merely opportunistically troublesome from undermining that cooperation. Hence, finally coming back to the original observation, that is why the Russians are wise to try to keep foreign money (power) from influencing the decision-making of government officials (authority). When money is not allowed to be the power behind authority, then it is possible for there to be rule by the wise and civilizational rather than rule by the rich.
One manifestation of wise and civilizational rule, and one of the key ingredients behind the success of bygone WASP federal America and the current-year Russian Federation, is respect for the local cultural homogeneity of the constituent peoples within the federation. No one on this Earth who is not an idiot willingly invests in a multi-group commons if it doesn’t provide advantage to their group. Multiculturalism, the destruction of local homogeneity through FORCED mixing or replacement, sabotages the willingness of disparate groups to cooperate. It’s one reason that the left, when ruling over multiethnic/multiracial societies, always resorts to violent authoritarianism.
One observation: “rule by the wise and civilizational rather than rule by the rich.”
The main problem may well rule by the WANT to be rich.
I Timothy 6: 9,10
9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
“I read years ago (don’t know how well enforced or even how true, only 1 source) that senior government officials in the Russian Federation were forbidden from owning ANY property abroad. The launch took place at a meeting in March 2000 as an aikido reponse after Mr. Khordokovsky accused the government of taking bribes, with the aid of continuing disgruntled tourists – a more polite activity than bombing apartment buildings in Moscow and elsewhere in September 1999.
The meeting was a continuation of a meeting in the same location with different participants – the “our gang is bigger than your gang meeting of 1994” – which you likely won’t believe give “The United States of America won the Cold War” – which aided the immigration figures for The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the facilities at Chelsea FC and the housing market (bubble), the immigration figures for “The State of Israel”, and elsewhere.
It is likely that another meeting in the series will convene in 2023, since meetings are often processes not events hence the continued in moderation observation in “The Soviet Union” – 100 people make the laws and 100 million find ways around them.”
Eerie how prophetic The Hunger Games turned out to be.
I learned at an early age that a successful analyst’s job was to write the report that supported the Administration’s desired course of action.
Debbie Schulz’ name jumps out. Remember her thieving staffer Imran Awan? Not only did she not fire him initially, she brought him back in a no-show contract.
She also tried to bully the police chief running the investigation into returning the stolen laptop by threatening him with “consequences.”
What a lovely person. Practically a younger Pelosi.
Is this Schulz related to the previous Bechtel CEO who became Sec of State for Ray-Gun?
And we’re told they don’t hold all the power.
Question: Why does the neo-con cabal in DC continue to support the failing regime in Kiev?
Answer: Because it’s so lucrative.
The current tussle over the position of Speaker of the House is one of the few positive developments I have seen coming from inside the Beltway in a long time. Not that I think anything will come from it, but you never know. At least someone, maybe, is beginning to think that enough is enough.
And not just in DC. Macron in France is also in trouble, or at least I hope he is. Remember those burning towers of Notre-Dame and ask, Where and why did that come from?
I know it has been copied and pasted as many times as Jelensky has snorted a line to taken a bribe but it is still a good saying, “I’m gonna pull the whole thing down. I’m gonna bring the whole f***in’ diseased, corrupt temple down on your head. It’s gonna be biblical.”
I disagree with Hakeem Jeffries. This is exactly how it should be instead of secret deals behind closed doors. This is real political activism, and debating back and forth. It’s still nowhere near as raucous as the British parliament. I’d rather this raucousness and lively debate than conformity and obedience. I saw a chart going back to the founding days of our Republic and this happened a lot right up through the 19th century with a lot more failed votes than 11. One was in the hundreds. The GOP is getting blowback for not listening to their base for so long it was bound to happen sooner or later.
Now as to the money, I had once heard when our congress critters are in office they spend 90% of their time raising money for their next election. I gave money to Mike Lee, even though I am in Florida, but it was to stop HR 1. Maybe, I was taken for a fool on that but it was claimed to be used to advertise against it. Now I can’t get rid of them calling me all the time. I tell them it was a one-shot deal, that I don’t live in his State. That didn’t work. I finally had to tell them to remove me from their calling list. A lot of McCarthy’s support is probably bought.
Poor Nancy.
Down almost 20%. No wonder she got out. It’s no place for a hard working California girl.
DC regularly polls as Americans most hated city.
Believe Malta is the most corrupt country in Europe, followed by Ukraine.
Malta attracts boaties and you know how some of those port towns go to seed.
Though Dickens and de Tocqueville both noticed how fond our American cousins are fond of a dollar.
In the 80’s, we had Pres Regan’s ‘Star Wars’ spend the ‘evil’ USSR into oblivion program Which succeeded amazingly well.
The sensible thing would’ve been to stop while the going was good tho
But greed’s a bitch, like a needle in a vein
Ever since, we’ve been the one trick pony West, going gangbusters, junkie spending ourselves into oblivion
The imminent, and very public failure of our latest misguided adventure, in Ukraine, will trigger the collapse of ‘our’ Bretton Woods, debt & faith based financial system
In turn dragging the World Bank & IMF along in the downdraft
With that all greed will be rendered asunder
Unfortunately everyone else will fracture too
Buckle up friends, it’s not going to be fun but hilarious just the same
Maybe you mean Pres Reagan.
As governor of California he had shown himself to be an effective mouthpiece for Big Business.
They handed him the Presidency.
He was a B Grade actor for an increasingly B Grade nation.
Sad.
Is being a B Grade actor better or worse than being a B or C Grade lawyer?
The Adventures were great.
But you should know about C grade actors.
too bad we know grade Z trolls.
it makes no difference! mediocre all the way…
I’ve been down on Reagan myself lately and I used to worship the ground he walked on. The primary reason I’ve been down on him? He gave all the neocons a seat at the table. They got their foot in the door and they methastaized throughout government like a deadly, fast spreading cancer.
The moment I really started hating all these people in government was when they resisted Trump when he wanted to withdraw from Syria. He’s the commander-in-chief. We voted for him exactly because that’s exactly the kind of thing we wanted him to do.
That was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me and we’re still there, squatting on somebody else’s territory.
They will likely have to find somewhere else to squat now Assad and Erdogan are joining forces.
“This is a bipartisan list.”
Yes it is.
“I am hoping, perhaps naively, that the war in Ukraine will fully expose the corruption and hypocrisy that infests Washington, DC like a pack of ravenous rats.”
We need one of these fairy tale Beltway narratives to crash and burn so quickly there won’t be time in Washington to spin it, or slyly move on from it as if it never existed in the first place. One of the reasons I’m adamant to the point of belligerency, that Vladimir Putin needs to do my country a solid, and roll over Ukraine as if wasn’t there, and smash it out of existence in a flash.
We Americans need to be shocked to our foundational core – if we even have one, that is.
Is this a naive way of thinking? I don’t know, probably, but sometimes when all your given is a longshot, you might as well take it.
Note: I see the investment portfolio of my main gal Nancy Pelosi took a fairly significant hit in 2022. Interesting, as Nancy has generally been considered one of the best of the inside traders in Congress, if not the best.
But, after consistently “beating the market”to the tune of 10s of millions the last couple of decades, due to all the scrutiny she faced this year for amassing a fortune while simultaneously serving the people, perhaps she decided to lose a little on purpose, to prove to her constituents, that the system isn’t rigged.
The term “bipartisan” simply means rape of American taxpayer.
In USA there are two parties. One is evil, and the other is stupid. Occasionally, the two parties get together to do something that’s both evil and stupid. They call that bipartisan.
DC shoveled trillions and trillions and trillions into Blackrock and Goldman Sachs during the recent financial failures without blinking. And yet the US keeps looking more and more like one of those shithole countries Trump diparaged.
Me, I am still looking for a way to vote these hedge fund owners of DC out of power.
End the Federal Reserve and printed, fiat, manipulated money – and the entire woke, progressive, corrupt edifice of the deep-state collapses immediately.
I want an end to corruption!
…or the chance to participate in it.
This is a very excellent 2023 starting article. Some like to compare the current situation in the US and its poodles (allies) with the collapse of the Roman Empire. But apparently it’s much worse. It now resembles the final stage of the twin cities of Sodom and Gomorrah mentioned in the holy books. If an idiot d..ck swinging charlatan named Zelenski posing as a president could come to the USA, deliver a speech in the Congress and ask for more bribes, then why not members of Congress do it? Fortunately the Neoliberal finance capitalism celebrations will soon be over and done with.
I had to chuckle at Tucker Carlson’s description of Zelenski:
“He looks like a strip bar manager”
Homo Zelensky played piano with his dick at the strip bar. What a sad sack country when our con-gress stands up to applaud this faggot and use him to launder their ill-gotten gains. America deserves the coming fires of Sodom and Gomorrah.
Mr. Johnson- best article of the year so far, lol. In canada it is no different.
i just listened to this. the author is of the roman orthodox church perspective and it may help explain the above on your article. it also explains why the west hates that church so much as i think their teachings are far more in line with real biblical christianity than what is taught in the vast majority of all churches in the west.
The Orthodox Nationalist: The Prophetic Struggle – TON 010423
In this New Year episode, Dr Matthew Raphael Johnson returns to a familiar topic, that of the significance of the Old Testament prophets.
While few read them and even fewer follow them, the purpose of the prophets in the New Testament was to offer the social constitution of True Israel – the manifestation of God’s grace as justice. Justice is an Archetype that can be manifest in real social relations or be alien from them.
The prophet Hosea condemns the “breaking of bonds” by a corrupt Israelite society, by which he means the transgression of the limits of natural law, or the blueprint for Justice to show itself in society.
What happens when these bonds are broken leads, not just to injustice and sin, but the destruction of society as a whole.

Rich people start believing that
My last comment was cut, for what ever reason. I try again.
Rich people start believing in money. They think money can do everything.
You can break their power when you stop believing in money.
Like a religion. Stop believing that the Pope is God sent. And he has no more power over you.
The clear evidence of wealth stratification in DC that you present, Larry, certainly is happening in other cities, too, but DC is the biggest, most bloated parasite of them all. This is the way I think of the city:
Never a recession there!
While I agree with you, Mr. Johnson, Nancy Pelosi “seems” to disprove the principal since she lost 20%. She was, arguably, the most powerful person in the Congress. Yet she lost worse than the S&P. I put “seems” in quotes because I agree with you about the revolving door corruption. I just haven’t figured out her angle on this
Neat timeline of the corporate takeover of Representative Democracy & what an eye opener re those suspected insider trading investment returns. Old jokes about Nixon being the Pepsico President and O-bummer being the man from Monsanto or the CIA President spring to mind.
In a societies like USA & the European Union where laws only get proposed & passed because they have overwhelming corporate sponsorship a modern Christian person might be forgiven by God for following in Adam & Eve´s footsteps declining to unconditionally obey all laws (to inherit the Earth) and instead eating the apple of knowledge of right v wrong (then applying their new skills)!
In Europe we have the same kind of thing with the EU , we even have a popular joke about it : “EU was created for the lobbyists to travel less for corrupting every sates in the EU”.
Anyway , we all know the best way to tackle corruption is what the Russians are doing : learning businessmen how to fly.
Flying lessons are only for those that don’t give back the pen:

The name on the list that jumps out at me is that Keating fellow. Same lineage as that savings and loan scandal from the 1980’s? Now the real answer to the stock pickers on this list is to whether they have been making bank shorting stocks in the last year I would guess. TSLA would be a good one to zero in on possibly. MRNA has got to be definite grift for these bandits. Just a C student asking questions here.
I thought Latin countries were corrupt but looking at America corruption, Latin countries are in the bottom in the list. Only a miracle can save America from this destruction coming.
Every report reading from Larry is to the heart of the matter not compromise a drop.
Thanks Larry.
I’ll just say this. Glass Steagall and Citizens United v Federal Election Comm. First one opened the bank’s to gambling and the second one for politician’s to be bought.
I guess I’m just getting old cause back in my day if you sold your country out for a handful of silver it was called treason and punishable by death. But what do I know, I’m just a old fart.
PS Nancy Pelosi took a stock loss by selling some trade’s. She took the loss to deflect attention to herself. That way she can say, ” look I didn’t make any money there”. A old military slogan, “Embrace the suck”.
Raven, you have pointed out two acts that defined the end of America.Iwould also include NAFTA.We the people never understood the seriousness of those changes.
Pelosi did not lose 20% those are unrealized gains.80% still remains, good work if you can get it.
Yup, the repeal of Glass Steagall in 1999 was a treasonous act, and it was a surprisingly bi-partisan one at that, given the time period. It passed 90 to 8 in the Senate, and 362 to 57 in the House.
Barney Frank led the opposition in the House, thinking that his fellow Democrats would rally to his patriotic call, but they didn’t, in the end, only 50 voted against the repeal. Most of the rest, shunned him as a lunatic, for his quaint notions that elected representitives should always serve the nation-state first, and mammon second.
The repeal of Glass-Steagal basically de-regulated sanity. For instance, in 1999, there was barely such thing as a derivates market. Today, these “financial weapons of mass destruction,” as Warren Buffet has called them, have grown into a market whose “value” is estimated well in excess of $1.5 quadrillion.
Yes, that’s a quadrillion, with a q. Given that the yearly GDP of the entire world is less than $100 trillion, I think it is fair to say that the fragile derivatives market hovers above the global economy as Thor’s Hammer does over a peanut.
Talk about exponential runaway hyper-inflation! Lmao … If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times, if you are do-gooder, a rabble rouser, a revolutionary, a patriot, but are not willing to take on the banks, then you are just making a bleating noise as you head into the slaughter pens.
What personal attributes are needed to make for a successful politician? Probably the same as those needed by a used car salesman. This notion that Democracy is the best form of government is a joke. It’s nothing more than rube rule, and the rubes can be led anywhere with the right marketing and drama. Expect things to get worse: especially with the mass importation of third worlders.
We are reaping the harvest of Popper’s open society. Our new elites control culture and entertainment, and lulling us into their divide and conquer strategy. And the huckster populating congress are happy to do their bidding for scraps from the table.
Ah………. Kevin here again, Larry…………….
SORRY, there were a few typos in my first email. I have made the appropriate corrects to ensure you fully understand your circumstance……
______________________________________________________________
Larry, Kevin McCarthy here. I’ll keep this huddle brief. YOUR FUTURE IS ON THE LINE!
Voters across the nation called on ME to put a stop to Biden’s ridiculous anti-America agenda – but if YOU miss MY critical COLLECTION deadline, YOU are going to fail.
The Left is outraising and outspending ME. Cronies are raking in huge sums of cash and spending it on some of the most contentious issues facing Americans today to ensure that middle class, red-blooded Americans drown.
I’m only sending this hail mary to the most loyal patriots because I know you won’t let us down. This is your last chance to help ME make it to the $ endzone.
IF NOT…..WELL It’s game over FOR you.
It’s all up to you. If you ignore MY WARNING and drop the ball, then YOU are gone.
Rush $800,000 by midnight to help ME!
LAST CHANCE, BUD!
“Rush $800,000 by midnight to help ME!”
Not the best attempt at a fear close.
Although not so butch. perhaps attempting the teddy bear close avoiding the last teddy bear in the store schtick would have been a better choice?
Mr. Johnson or may I call you Lawrence, although like you I’m a member of God’s family and can feel a bond between us.
Look at this a lovely teddy bear who has fallen on hard times (subliminal eroticism for some to be inclusive of all, whilst “personalised”by starting with a bang).
You understand how difficult it is for the poor these irreligious days and that God loves Good Samaritains such as yourself.
I know it sounds expensive, but is it really expensive for enjoying the continuing grace of God?
Please send the bear $ 800,000 through me – my bank details are below.
Please don’t delay since Jesus he knows me and knows I’m right.
Thank you very much for your consideration and warm heart.
Not another hustler, just another member of God’s family trying to deliver assistance to fellow men and teddy bears – sometimes women as well.
Perhaps Mr. Cook you could forward this to the likely distraught protector of a teddy bear to increase his talents in begging as possibly he lacked guidance in such matters by joining the CIA ?
Thank you.
While we’re focused on the clown show in DC, the war in Ukraine could be on the verge of taking a dramatic turn. Below is a comment from a Telegram Channel authored by Boris Rozhin, an expert of the Center for Military-Political Journalism.

🔹On possible UAV drone strikes on Primorye and the Khabarovsk Territory – analysis of Rybar and the Military Chronicle
After an attempt to strike at strategic aviation base airfields, the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of Ukraine, with the support of several intelligence agencies of Western countries , is planning new attacks using drones. However, unlike the strike on Engels , the new action can be carried out from abroad, and objects in the Russian Far East can become targets .
🔻What objects are we talking about?
▪️In Komsomolsk-on-Amur there is an aviation plant named after Yu.A. Gagarin (KnAAZ) . This is a strategically important enterprise: Russian Su-35 , Su-35S fighters , as well as the latest fifth-generation Su-57 fighters, are assembled in its workshops . Over the past few years, KnAAZ has been fulfilling contracts under the State Defense Order without delay, delivering unique aviation equipment on time. By the end of 2024, the Russian Aerospace Forces should receive 22 units, by 2028 their number in the troops will be increased to 76. Also,
more than ten Su-35 fighters are stored on the territory of KnAAZ , which, according to Iranian media, Moscowplans to transfer to Tehran in the near future.
In addition, KnAAZ is a manufacturer of civil aircraft “Superjet” – one of the symbols of Russian import substitution of critical technologies.
▪️The Arsenievsky Progress Aviation Plant , the only manufacturer of Ka-52 Alligator reconnaissance and attack helicopters for the needs of the Russian Aerospace Forces, is located in Primorsky Krai .
After the start of the SVO in Ukraine, the Russian Aerospace Forces already lost several Ka-52 units. Therefore, the defeat of the Arseniev plant will actually nullify the possibility of their restoration.
🔻What is the enemy’s intention?
It is likely that a group of drones will be launched from civilian ships from neutral waters – possibly from the Sea of Japan or the Pacific Ocean . Vessels are planned to be chartered through dummy shell companies.
One of the most likely candidates for such an action is the Chinese Mugin-5 drone , well known to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainian intelligence.
Another option is the Ukrainian analogue of the Geranium, the pendant drone . The launcher with these UAVs can be placed on board the vessel and simultaneously launch up to 40 units .
🔻What are the signs of preparation for an attack?
A couple of days before the strike (as was the case in Makiivka or Engels ) , US spacecraft will monitor likely targets, after which the definition of the attack vector will begin. Most likely, American military satellites TOPAZ will be used for continuous monitoring of objects , a feature of which is the ability to conduct reconnaissance of targets on the Earth’s surface even in bad weather conditions.
Then it will be the turn of reconnaissance aircraft and early warning aircraft: From the Pacific Ocean, US and NATO aircraft will study air defense activity in the Far East. After that, presumably, a blow will be struck.
🔻What will it give the enemy?
The main goal of possible strikes is not so much to defeat factories or assembly shops as an information campaign .
The blow will allow, first of all, to sow panic among the Russian population in the Far East. In the context of the military-political confrontation with the NATO bloc, this will become a real assessment of the readiness of the RF Armed Forces to defend the eastern borders.
In addition, such an action is a demonstrative destruction or, at least, damage to a part of the latest fighters intended for Iran and the shutdown of KnAAZ production facilities for some time.
If the GUR and the Western curators of Ukraine decide on this strike, and the attack is not detected and repelled, then other strategic objects may become targets in the future, for example, the submarine base in Vilyuchinsk or Russian military airfields.

Of course these people are lining their pockets from the wars they help to start, and have a vested interest in promoting them.
This is appalling, but logical i guess, in a morally warped way.
What is not at all logical, is the number of regular folks who support these wars despite having to bankroll them through their taxes. Presumably they do so because they believe the psyops about “helping Ukraine” “liberating Iraq” “removing the butcher Assad” etc.
Of course, later on they are embarrassed to admit they ever did. And so it shall be with Ukraine.
I predict that even the loons waving the blue and yellow flags will eventually say the Minks Accords should have been honoured and that we should never have got involved.
Minsk.
California runs the same way and it is down into county, city,
agencies, departments. Nepotism and cronyism are rampant if not the norm. I can tell who is in on it; when I bring it up and get the evil eye. I know of construction companies that are told what contracts to bid on by government employees. Seeing results of the corruption with some of the inept government response to storms.
Combine with affirmative action for a delightful mix of incompetence.
Top lobbyists make over $1000/hr, and an excellent investment.
I am curious to know how the corruption also affects governmental data, e.g. from the congressional research service, because that would raise all sorts of flags. One of the remaining pieces of soft power of the US is its publicly available governmental data, used around the world.
I recall years ago a CRS paper on Haiti, which described the turnout for the 1996 election (iirc) as having reduced turnout, but upon checking the data, had the highest turnout. Likewise, was it on US or Canadian instructions that the UN claimed that their (UN MINUSTAH occupation of Haiti) 2006 census in Haiti was the first in 24 years? The microdata for the previous (2003) census in Haiti is available from the world bank.
Thank you, Mr. Johnson for your excellent essays; in this war of Truth against the Lies of the powers of Darkness, your blog is a shining star! May God be with you and keep you safe in this time of the struggle of the spirits in Heaven and Earth.
I looked at a number of comments and no one will point out that it is jewish money/power that controls our government. Until one sees this you are chasing your tail…
Jesus, Larry, you made the scene in DC in 79? I didn’t make it until I left active duty in 1982. My first place was a condo in Fairfax in 1983, among other properties from McLean to Manassas. Fairfax County Fire rejected me because of shitty lungs in 1983 even while I was still in the active Naval Reserve out at Andrews (asbestos, solvents and jet exhaust). So I got into the phone business after they split Bell Telephone. The growth of retail and lobbies benefited me, we sold a lot of phone systems with Nortel and others in the eighties and like you said, it exploded in Clinton’s day. We always serviced the august Brookings, but then Cato blew up into a Chrystal glass palace on Mass Avenue and other “charities and lobbies” grew in influence and wealth, dozens of them. They were all buying phone systems from us from Dupont Circle clear down to Pennsylvania Avenue, out to Georgetown and up to Silver Spring and all over Fairfax and yours truly was, admittedly, a beneficiary. Tyson’s Corner out in Fairfax became and is still now the richest spot on planet earth owing to their political influence. We made (or, my companies) fortunes from it. I did a phone system for SAIC on Old Gallows Road in Vienna/Tysons in the mid-80s. And they kept growing, but I didn’t know they were CIA front’s contractors, not that it matter today. Booze, Allen, NSC, Quantico and others too, not to drop names. You’re the only one I’ve run across that understands that region.
I’m out of all that now in a sleepy New England town, headed for Tampa in a couple of weeks. But I miss the old DC, I miss Duke Zeiberts, TooJay’s and Morty’s NY Deli on Wisconsin Avenue, Dixie Liquor, Dancing Crab, Studebaker’s, Houston’s old customers who became friends and a million women and long trips on motorcycles. There was the endess heavy traffic on George Washington Parkway on every Saturday night going everywhere but home for dinner, it was an awesome time for a young man with bikes and a pocketful of money. Also I miss my sleepy, post-Civil War hometown of the 50’s and 60’s in Fairfax, also Bethesda where I was born, so many things. You tickled my memory banks, Larry. The period after my military service when I got back to Washington in 1882 from 1983-2005 was a grand time, the sorts of times I’ll carry to my grave. It was a great town then. But I know now, the entire game was rooted in corruption.
Am I evil to have been ignorant of it?
So many types of corruption to choose from!
The MIC – The F35! The littoral ship. The M1 that breaks down all the time, yet are ridiculously expensive. yet the MIC billions are chump change –
The big bucks are the banking industry BIG revolving door (Geitner? Citibank picking Obama’s cabinet), Trillions and trillions (my count was 21 trillion) in 2008 in bailouts and trillions more during Covid straight to G Sachs and Blackrock, etc.
Yet, at least they dont directly kill millions of Americans that award goes to big pharma.
But the FDA is paid for by big pharma, has over 4000 “safe and effective” products recalled, and kills millions with negative accountability (they get uber rich)
Vioxx killed enough to shorten the US lifespan – I have seen estimates of half a million!
So how can anyone truly follow the money when federal financial accountability is just a cosmically corrupt joke? Catherine Fitts has been writing about this for years. If interested, check out the “21 Trillion Missing” and “FASAB Statement 56” which detail the absurd loopholes in federal financial reporting on her website.
https://missingmoney.solari.com
With the insane levels of polarization and corruption, is it any wonder that we are just history’s latest dying empire to be circling the drain? As Martin Armstrong keeps saying, all republics eventually devolve into oligarchies as your pretend representatives are bought off. We just have to crash and burn and hope a better form of government rises from the ashes. I just hope those ashes are not radioactive thanks to the lunatic neocons.
I love Fitts. Used to catch her on George Noory on Coast to Coast AM.
“you can’t hold a candle to the political brothel that is Washington.”
Of course not – they likely even turn Federal cheques into something more discreet/manageable.
Though the banker’s brothels in Frankfurt are just around the corner from the financial district and Frankfurt Hbf.
They have high reputations for flagellation since not many chastise DrDrDr’s to restore their modesty. They even accept company credit cards since the services are medicinal – well that’s the normal excuse.
The “upscale” brothels in Brussels are not so good.
The food is so good that Johns tend to overeat and under perform leading to disappoint, but not for the brothel owners since tariffs tend to be agreed and honoured before commencement.
However perhaps you haven’t considered Doha or Malta if you are carrying cash – you can arrange an appointment online from a worldwide pool of potential partners who will be flown in especially and so arrangements tend to be long-time rather than short-time depending on the busyness of your schedule.
As you may be aware one of the subjects of analysis is where do dogs hide their bones, which is also becoming transcended but not because of honey pot shortages and ensuing modes of persuasion, but partly because of growing chutzpah of Johns including
“You take a very good photograph. Can I have a couple of copies for my wife and friends ?”
These Russian oligarchs are still learning etiquette, and so sometimes they know not what they do.

For sixty years Connecticut was the wealthiest state since the early 50s until roughly ten years ago. This was driven by all of the insurance companies there. Connecticut was replaced by Maryland. I don’t know what business or industry Maryland has but it must have boomed after the milennia.
Putin is an idiot. A Christmas ceasefire. Sure. Handcuff your military and let the UkroNazi’s resupply and get ready. That little conscious salving handjob will result in dead Russian soldiers. There might be regime change in Russia before this is over. For someone who does not worry about kissing the ass of his European friends.
Firstly, Putin did not propose a truce, but a ceasefire regime for 36 hours.
Be more precise in the wording and read less the telegram channels of military bloggers – “experts” stationed in cafes and restaurants in Donetsk (Sladkov), Moscow (Colonelcassad) or Kiev (Rybar).
In Russia, freedom of speech goes beyond all reasonable limits – it becomes a problem of information warfare. Please consider this.
Secondly, the Ukrainian side refused to accept the ceasefire proposal. Refused – so refused. These are her problems.
None of the soldiers left their positions.
Thirdly, Ukrainians are distinguished by exceptional meanness, and like to inflict painful blows on holidays. The announcement of the ceasefire regime does not change anything in the habits of Ukrainians.
Fourth, you all note the perniciousness of propaganda, but you still continue to believe that Putin’s regime is hanging by a thread. One has only to push, and it will collapse.
It won’t collapse. There is no Putin regime. There is the will of the people of Russia, which is expressed by Putin and the Government team.
Fifth, please don’t call Putin an idiot. Remember his words: “Whoever calls you that, he himself is called that.” In Russian it sounds in rhyme.
To be clear. I completely support Russia in this conflict. Putin, however, is not following the will of the Russian people. They want this war won. He continues to stroke his European buddies. Note how he has consistently tried to hide the war atrocities committed on Russian POW’s from his people. Putin needs to get the fuck out of the way of the Russian military and let them win this war.
I’m from Russia. I’m an ordinary person. I’m nobody, just a woman. But I belong to the part of the Russian people that supports Putin. I don’t just want Russia to win, I don’t doubt it for a second. I also have no doubt that Putin wants Russia to win, no less than the people of Russia.
I will not argue with you, although I would like to say that you wrote nonsense about Putin. But this is your opinion against mine. Or vice versa – my opinion is against yours.
And I wish you well. And I pray for the Russian soldiers fighting the Ukrainian terrorists.
Curt Nichols, Thanks!
“Putin” “Putin’s” “Putin” “Putin”
Some cultures are largely based on mutual respect and cooperation, not coercion and competition.
One of the reasons for the 3rd phase of the world war, which you may believe to be fully encompassed in a construct “The War in Ukraine” used in obfuscation of it being the 3rd phase of the ongoing world war, as was “The American War” designated as “The War in Vietnam”, is that the cultures of some have consistently been and continue to be attacked by coercive social relation who laughingly deem themselves to be “The United States of America” which at least from 1919 have sought to impose their “culture” on others through the removal of indigenous.
In Russian culture elderly non-family members are normally assigned a title as in Gospodin Putin, or Mr. Putin or President Putin as a mark of respect, although some younger Russians who to some degree emulate the ways of other cultures forget to assign this mark of respect.
A growing amount of “Russians” are resorting to more “Russian” cultural practices, and hence when some “spokesman” in “The United States of America” assigns no respectful titles to others, this undermines the “communication” attempts of “The United States of America” thereby rendering them force multipliers in their own transcendence.
Another example of this facilitation was staged on Independence Square in Kiev during February 2014, when some members of a “community” which had been “ethnically cleansed” on more than one occassion since the 1880’s, sought through traditional ritual solely carried out by the hosts, to welcome Ukrainians into their own home by attempting to offer them bread and salt but forgetting the salt, which was remarked upon approximately thus:
Woman : The Z*ids are back trying to welcome us into our own homes.
“Customer guide” : Don’t worry once they have outlived their use, it will be like before ?
The before possibly being taking a walk with former “customer guides” along Melnikova and descending into Babi Yar where over 38,000 were shot often by customer guides over a two day period of 28th and 29th September 1941, but may have been the “ethnic cleansing” engaged in the Kresy (Galicia and Wolyn) from 1942 onwards, since the “strategies” of Ukrainian “nationalists” have included “ethnic cleansing” since at least 1880, and in The Russian Empire anti-semitism and other derivatives of rascism were tools used by the czarist regime to divide and rule particularly from 1880 until 1917.
The vicious circle of man’s (male and female) dealings with his own corrupt heart and polluted mind becomes tiresome to watch, historically and currently.
Modern-day revolutionaries set out to cleanse their respective nations by a generous amount of bloodletting. The aristocracy had to go – preferably by means of a violent overthrow – so that justice, freedom and equality could finally settle in the land.
The French overthrow soon produced a second Aristocracy – as venal, as abusive, as unjust, as tyrannical, as elitist as the old one, first through a military parvenu (Napoleon) and then through the longed-for monarchical restoration or republican repetition.
The US shake-up proclaimed no-king on its soil. Instead, the sovereignty of the people… until a few smarter and ambitious individuals began conspiring with the old aristocratic overlords across the ocean and set up the new-model aristocracy, namely, not the discredited hereditary rule but the new hereditary elitism of wealth acquired through farming or industry or banking… to this very day – now in full fornicating mode with the state.
The Russian radical convulsion went beyond anything else under the same banner, both in blood spilt and duration. A new aristocracy surged from the ashes of the old one in no time, though. It was now the “party leadership”, the “politburo”, special schools for the cadres, exclusive shops for the nomenklatura, reserved spots for holidays for the national rulers.
What of the nazi revolution? There was no prevarication there, because the aristocratic virus was the core worm of the enterprise. The rule of the elite – of the aristocracy – was the foundation and roof of the whole edifice.
And the current so called WEF mafia? Doubtless, a veritable reincarnation of the aristocratic nazi vermin, with the addition of a few legions of demons into the cauldron.
No need to carry on with the tedious litany.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun”
