Fortunately, I was sitting down when I saw the following video. I had an easier fall to the floor from the sitting position then if I had been standing upright. This is a genuine stunner. A reporter for the PUBLIC BROADCAST SYSTEM– let me repeat that, a PBS reporter on the ground in Ukraine and reporting from the Ukraine side of the fightin –blows up the Ukrainian propaganda that Russia was shelling civilian targets during the sustained bombardments. This is akin to Rachel Maddow admitting the Joe Biden is the Big Guy and on the take from the Chinese. Whoops!
The PBS Newshour (formerly as McNeil/Lehrer back in the old days) is the bastion of Deep State propaganda. As the catechism is to Catholics, the PBS Newshour is to Democrats. So what happened in Ukraine that has caused this shill of the Deep State to do real journalism? The reporter debunks the Ukrainian claim that Russia hit a civilian apartment building. He notes the smell of dead bodies and cites a source stating that the bodies pulled out of this smoldering rubble were soldiers. As he trashes the Ukraine claim he shows video of military shoes, uniforms and decals scattered in the piles of stone and twisted iron.
Take a look:
This is NOT Russian propaganda. This is a certified member of the Mainstream Media. He is Deep State approved. And he decides that now is a good time to expose a lie by Ukrainian authorities? This is not an accident. I see it as a signal that the Washington establishment’s enthusiasm for this war and their optimism that Ukraine will prevail is slipping. Remember, PBS depends almost entirely on funding from Uncle Joe Biden, Cousin Chuck Schumer and Aunt Nancy Pelosi. (At this point I must insert Sly and the Family Stone’s super tune, “It is a Family Affair.)
I know I am criticized in some sectors as being a mouthpiece for Putin. Those who believe that would you help me out? Get in touch with Mr. Putin and let him know I am not getting paid. If I am going to be a mouthpiece for someone I damn skippy want to get paid.
Here is the alternative. I do not believe one thing that Joe Biden and his corrupt National Security team have to say about anything. Not one. He is beholden to China (fully bought and paid for). Biden wants the American taxpayer to spend billions enabling a proxy to fight Russia while murder rates in America’s biggest cities soar and our southern border is wide open to a veritable Tsunami of illegal aliens and illegal narcotics that are killing Americans. If you are mad at me for saying to Biden, Let’s Go Brandon, then I can only assume you side with the Biden crime family.
When true patriots like Larry Johnson and Scott Ritter wish their country strategic defeat, it proves that the American regime has gone far too far in deception and criminality.
why are you trolling by posting fake assesment ? both LJ and SR never wish for america to be defeated. Both are trying to show that the one in charge of USA today are the traitors who do not CARE for americans and do not care for american people’s well being..
since when american patriots get labelled as defeatist if they do not support the current regime of neocon/warmongers in White House ?
We are not going to get into a semantic debate, but the fact is that the US needs to be defeated strategically in Ukraine, for the well-being of the whole planet, and there is nothing shameful in affirming this.
You two would better serve each other if you understood that the country is not the government and the government is not the country, and framed your arguments accordingly.
Conflating the two results in incoherence…
True words
A strategic defeat of the criminal cabal currently running Washington DC is in all our interests, the interests of the US (the country and citizens) would be well served by a defeat of the criminal deep state.
The US is not much different than Ukraine, an oppressive totalitarian police state run by oligarchs and the pet Nazis.
A defeat of that cabal would be a victory for all of us. However we don’t have a Vlad Putin to liberate us, the job will fall to patriots.
Face it, the country has been captured and occupied by a group that makes the Sicilian Mafia look like St Elmo’s Catholic Boys Chior.
Most of the citizens are either numb, brainwashed sheep or suffering from pathological Stockholm Syndrome.
Nobody is there to rescue us. We can only pray that external factors will weaken then enough where the few of us that care can finish the job.
I think we should not conflate the United States with the Anglo-American Empire. The defeat of the Empire means the liberation of the United States from imperial control – a second American Revolution, that is. True patriots of every country oppose imperialism. Putin has stood up to the Empire and shown the world it can be done. Now we the American People must do our part.
I don’t wish its strategic defeat. I’m just looking at the facts and the trajectory. The US is on a path to destruction and I don’t see any of the politicians, Trump included, that are articulating the danger and calling for a course correction.
Well, I think we want the same thing, that peace reigns in a multipolar world where all countries are on an equal footing with regard to international law, and as everyone knows that the US will never change its foreign policy, unless a miracle happens, let’s say that the Russian victory in this proxy war in Ukraine that the US has itself provoked, is indispensable.
I haven’t heard Trump say anything definitive either. I’m starting to wonder if he is controlled opposition on the right, kind of like Bernie on the left. At first you think he is different, but when push comes to shove he caves, which he did many times during his term.
YOur blog, Mr. Johnson, is one of the best, if not the best, your pieces are short, to the point, exude common sense, a good understanding of an issue, and are sans bull.
The contemporary America is run for the benefit of the military-industrial (now also financial) complex Ike warned about in the 60s, it will end in a catastrophe, consider this:
Most of the American manufacturing capacity that formed the basis of the country’s post WW2 hegemony has been moved offshore (mostly to China) except for the design, manufacture and maintenance and servicing of the military equipment, the tools of killing are still produced not fully but to large extend domestically within the US.
The companies engaged in the manufacture of the military hardware are in every one of the fifty States of the Republic.
The military sector, defined at its broadest, furnishes one in fifteenth of the 160mn American jobs, and almost everyone in employment of any kind has the 401(k) pension plan that has the stock of the companies involved in making the military gear (only some 13 percent of Americans aged 60 or older did not have any retirement savings as of January 2020).
The above forms the powerbase of the military/industrial (financial) complex, ‘governing’ America, and by and large the world, still.
Could any American politician seriously argue for the curtailment of the military/industrial complex and hope to get elected if the outcome of pursuing such policies would inevitably result in lower aggregate employment, a massive reduction in the value of individual pension plans, and above all the cut in the remuneration and the other benefits of the top layer of management of the military companies and the multiplicity of advisory boards populated with retired politicians and such?
Hell yes, true American patriots hope for strategic defeat. That’s because the choice isn’t between strategic defeat and strategic victory; the choice is between strategic defeat and worldwide nuclear annihilation.
Strategic victory isn’t an option or a possibility. Read Andrei Martyanov’s books.
Hoping the US government’s strategic agenda gets defeated is made easier by the moral choices underpinning that agenda. The USG aren’t the ‘good guys’ and haven’t been for years, for decades. The people in charge aren’t acting on behalf of Americans, they’re acting on behalf of global corporate interests – which largely conflict with those of most Americans.
Doubt very much that this correspondent and the people at PBS responsible for this will be doing a repeat; the biden/blinky must be frantically pulling the hook on this one.
They will be sending in the “reporters” from vogue magazine as soon as they are finished with the hard hitting piece on the zelenskys.
It seems I just became persona non grata over at the Zelensky fan club. Pat or TTG perhaps don’t like their expert analysis to be challenged….
Agree! That site has hit new lows, I noted some of your comments which were spot on. I hit that site occasionally for entertainment to see what the latest ISW “assessment ” is but it is really worthless for that and all other reasons.
Dear Mr Johnson, I and your readers know you are being a patriot, adding to your family’s heritage, by exposing the criminal fraud and negligence perpetrated by our falsely “elected” mouthpiece for the MIC and Charles Schwab’s “Great” Reset. Biden is also beholding to the Ukrainian’s who have paid him, The Big Guy, and his son.
sincerely
jimmy
Larry, if Biden is beholden to China and fully bought & paid for, why is Taiwan the site of our next proxy war?
“…if Biden is beholden to China and fully bought & paid for, why is Taiwan the site of our next proxy war?”
Get back to us when the “war” starts. The Biden administration’s last announcement regarding Taiwan was that it is part of China. You think Biden going to war over internal Chinese problems? That will be difficult to explain. Also, military experts say the US doesn’t have the capability to run operations in two disparate places anymore.
Been pushing for a multi-polar world system as long as I could think and I agree, it gets you called a lot of nasty names (my family fought in the Revolution as well for what it is worth).
The US running the world alone is just not practical or even possible given economic and military realities. Not sure how many more disasters it will take for this to sink in among the foreign policy leadership but the answer always seems to be “one more”.
It’s not patriot v. traitor, the fight is realist v. idealist.
Guess which one will win in the end.
The reporter says that the Ukies believe a cleaning woman working at the base may have provided targeting info to the Russians. Nice. Some confirmation of my theory about a big, but not discussed, issue facing the Zelensky puppet government.
But yeah, wow. PBS going against the narrative must be a sign that the worm is turning.
Given the ‘bolt from the blue’ nature of certain Russian missile strikes, since the very start of the SMO, I expect there’s been a lot of that. I’d be pissed too, if Nazis took over my building.
I hope that cleaning lady got the heck outta Dodge.
CNN is going in another direction. CNN is auditioning to replace PBS as the bastion of deep state propaganda. The hosts there quote ‘[U.S.] govt officials with great affection.’
Today, U.S. Intelligence sources claim the 75,000 Russians have been killed or wounded in Ukraine. CNN did an entire segment on the premise that this is a fact. Their guests said … ‘U.S. estimates are generally conservative [as if the U.S. govt never lies]’. Another added, ‘75,000 is an astounding number, even more than I expected’
I just wish I could watch it when Pompeo rewards his obedient seals with a fish as they clap with their fins. Watching our Fourth Estate slavishly echoing U.S. govt officials is quite nauseating. I thought an independent and free press was why we were better than Russia and China.
Great sense of humor! Much needed during these crazy times.
It’s ironic to me that in 2014 two of Ukraine’s oblasts (regions) stood up and said, NO, we do not accept the US-inspired/funded coup that took place, which overthrew the democratically elected President of Ukraine. These two oblasts (LPR and DPR) decided they would rather FIGHT than to accept the illegal new government. Too bad we didn’t do that here in the USA after the theft of our own 2020 Presidential election. Just imagine how things would be today if Texas and/or Arizona and/or Montana had done the same thing. Sadly, our “government” is so corrupt and so uncaring for “we the people” that I don’t see anything changing until we the people stand and fight just the LPR and DPR did. I know that means death and destruction, but does anyone see a different way to honestly change things? The ballot box and the jury box have become jokes. I fear that only leaves the path chosen by Washington, Jefferson and Adams.
That’s a first class analogy, UN OUT of USA, sadly it didn’t happen, it couldn’t have happened, the corrosiveness of the woke mob’s creed has penetrated each and every corner of what was once the great American Republic.
Thank you for the feedback. I try to be clear and direct. Also, I try to inject a bit of black humor.
Y no otras.
The narrative of imminent internal conflict is being repeated. It seems that the US is pursuing a civil war. Pied Piper Biden (I mean Washington, Biden doesn’t even have an opinion on these matters) is leading everyone to the precipice, including Trump. This is important, including Trump. The issue is serious. Citizens must get out of the column that drags them to certain death, they must stop listening to the melody. Now the question: Can the citizens of a country (armed to the teeth) avoid the enormous number of deaths that this conflict can generate? Is there a civil structure that can avoid the sound of sabers? This is perhaps the vital question that every citizen should ask. And not others.
Things may be turning, an advisor to the UK Government has opined that perhaps it would be beneficial if the West talked to Putin, he framed it cleverly, the talking would be to try and understand what the guy is likely to do next, the unpredictability of his future moves will be reduced, the West will have marginally better understanding of his moves, we shall see whether it will lead to anything as it’s the State Department that runs the foreign policy for the West.
Well, you can add Amnesty International to PBS. AI just published a report which can be found here:
https://www.amnesty.org.uk/press-releases/ukraine-military-endangering-civilians-locating-forces-residential-areas-new
detailing Ukrainian violations of “international humanitarian law.” Whether these are violations of actual law I do not know, but as you can imagine, many in the West are infuriated by the report. Some have even labeled it “Russian propaganda.” The fact that an organization like Amnesty International is reporting this is amazing and surely indicative of something.
