I am very serious in posing this question. I was born at the dawn of the Cold War and became a teenager in the sixties. I have never heard the level of hate expresses towards any world leader, including Pol Pot, comparable to the venom spewed at Vladimir Putin.
I could understand the fierce loathing of Putin if he had murdered millions of his citizens (like Pol Pot) or of other countries. Or if he was behind the overthrow of democratically elected governments using his old outfit, the KGB. I would not be asking this question if Putin had incarcerated the Uighurs in concentration camps and made them slave laborers.
If we are going to use the standard of “bad behavior” as the measure of whether a world leader is good or evil, I think there is a compelling case that China’s Xi Jinping, for example, is a more dastardly character than Putin in terms of his actions both domestically and internationally. Yet, members of the G-20 had no qualms about getting a photo with Xi but had to grab the fainting couch at the prospect of being snapped standing next to Putin.
I have never seen anything like this. It is juvenile, stupid and dangerous. Let me explain. The ground war in Ukraine has turned decisively against Ukraine. The combination of no electricity, limited weapon supplies from the West, no ability to produce new supplies inside Ukraine, no secure military training bases, manpower shortages and the onset of frosty winter temperatures has the Ukrainian military in a tough spot. Based on today’s reports, the Ukrainians now face the decision of retreating hurriedly from Bakhmut or remain in place and killed or captured. This will be a consequential defeat for Ukraine. So who does Ukraine (or the United States or the UK) negotiate with?
Putin is very aware of the insults and disdain cast his way by counterparts in the United States and Europe. He is in no rush to open talks with either Washington or Europe. Just this week Russia unilaterally cancelled talks on nuclear weapons with the United States:
Russia accused the United States on Tuesday of toxic anti-Russian behaviour that it said had prompted it to pull out of nuclear arms talks with U.S. officials in Cairo this week.
In strongly worded comments, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also accused the United States of trying to manipulate the New START nuclear treaty to its advantage, although she said Russia was still committed to it.
https://www.reuters.com/world/moscow-we-had-no-choice-cancel-new-start-nuclear-talks-with-us-2022-11-29/
I recommend Andrei Martyanov’s latest video, which touches on this subject:
I also commend to you Phil Giraldi’s latest — Vladimir Putin’s Vision of a Multipolar World.
Even in the depths of the Cold War, no U.S. President — from Truman to George H.W. Bush — entertained the kind of vitriol that Biden, his team and key members of Congress express towards President Putin. The U.S. side is operating under the delusion that Putin and Russia need the United States. I man, my God!, how can Russia survive without McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts? Well, guess what? Russia has discovered it does not need a single, damn thing from the United States.
But the United States sure as hell needs Russia. Russia’s position as one of the largest producers of fertilizer and uranium makes it essential to the United States. And Russia is well on its way to controlling the rich resources of Ukraine. I published the following list in a previous post, but it bears repeating.
1st in Europe in proven recoverable uranium ore reserves;
2nd place in Europe and 10th place in the world in titanium ore reserves;
2nd place in the world in terms of explored reserves of manganese ores (2.3 billion tons, or 12% of world reserves);
The 2nd largest iron ore reserves in the world (30 billion tons);
2nd place in Europe in mercury ore reserves;
3rd place in Europe (13th place in the world) in terms of shale gas reserves (22 trillion cubic meters)
4th place in the world in terms of the total value of natural resources;
7th place in the world in coal reserves (33.9 billion tons)Ukraine is an important agricultural country:
1st in Europe in terms of arable land area;
3rd place in the world by the area of chernozem (25% of the world volume);
1st place in the world in the export of sunflower and sunflower oil;
2nd place in the world in barley production and 4th place in barley export;
3rd largest producer and 4th largest exporter of corn in the world;
The 4th largest potato producer in the world;
The 5th largest rye producer in the world;

Ukraine is an important industrially developed country:
1st in Europe in ammonia production;
The 2nd and 4th largest natural gas pipeline systems in the world;
3rd largest in Europe and 8th in the world in terms of installed capacity of nuclear power plants;
3rd place in Europe and 11th in the world in terms of the length of the railway network (21,700 km);
3rd place in the world (after the USA and France) in the production of locators and navigation equipment;
3rd largest iron exporter in the world;
The 4th largest exporter of turbines for nuclear power plants in the world;
The world’s 4th largest manufacturer of rocket launchers;
4th place in the world in clay exports;
4th place in the world in titanium exports;
8th place in the world in the export of ores and concentrates;
9th place in the world in the export of defense industry products;
The 10th largest steel producer in the world (32.4 million tons).
Control of these resources will increase Russia’s economic leverage and make it more necessary for Western countries to deal with the government of Vladimir Putin.
So I return to my original question — Why the deep hatred for Vladimir Putin? I think there are two reasons. First, he refused to be the prison bitch of the West. He insisted that Russian national interests would take precedence over Western demands and pursued an independent path. For example, he responded to Syria’s request to help quell the Western-funded Islamic insurgency without asking Washington or Brussels for permission.
Second, he is sincere in promoting Christian values, including rejecting the LBGTQ agenda to normalize homosexuality. That has really hit a nerve in the West. It is an unpardonable sin. And Putin does not care what the West thinks. He is keen on promoting traditional family values and encouraging heterosexual reproduction. Putin ain’t woke.
At some point in the next six months, Ukraine will no longer have the resources and support to continue the war. Talking to Putin will become a critical priority. Will the West find a way to reforge normal relations with Russia? More importantly, will Russia want to engage them?
What do you think?
The only things most Americans know about Vladimir Putin is the propaganda that the corrupt political establishment and their bought and paid for mainstream media spread about him. The American political establishment hates Putin because he stopped them from looting Russia when he became the Russian president. I suspect that if Americans knew the truth they would be filled with admiration for Vladimir Putin. He has brought Russia back from the depths of despair. Unlike most American political leaders, he cares about the ordinary people that he is tasked with governing. America has not had any leaders anywhere close to Vladimir Putin for some time now.
Oh, that would be a HUGE reason they would despise him, I about forgot that reason. Thanks for posting!
You are absolutely right, as is Larry. Putin is no one’s “prison bitch’ and he recognizes “woke” for what it is “fake tolerance’. In Russia women are arguably more economically liberated than in the US. There is little racial or ethnic discrimination, at least not on the same scale or in the same manner as in the US. And sexual preference is a private rather than a public matter, not something to be used for social or political leverage. However, “reason” — and “reasons” are irrelevant to public hatred of Putin, which is driven by the Media and their need to fictionalize everything — with, of course, an arch villain or Big Bad. As I write here:
https://julianmacfarlane.substack.com/p/media-hate-speech-a-rant
At some point, the Media become a farce, however. Irrational hate. Irrational love.
https://julianmacfarlane.substack.com/p/nyt-why-do-you-support-zelensky
F*ck
Did I actually reply to you once ?
The problem here is that woke ideology is all they have, they need this because otherwise christianity will return in one or another and this is the biggest threat possible
the west must create a makebelieve world to obscure reality, not to the real world but to their own people.when the hoi paloi really actually become “woke”there will be a reckoning of 4th turning scale.
It is rather ”hoi polloi”, οι πολλοί, ”the many”, ”the people”.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoi_polloi
I am flattered that greek words appear all over the world.. (thanks !), because the globalists, step by step, make the Greeks forget, what the real greek language is. It sounds greek, but in reality it is bad american english..!
The reasons you mentioned are valid and part of the equation. I would submit you will see the real reason fairly soon, but it’s been going on for quite some time.
Putin has EFFECTIVELY been selling oil for gold for a good many years, in a round about way, which will soon change into a direct exchange. As Russia has sold oil and taken the proceeds and bot gold, the more gold they have accumulated, the more vitriol directed at them. Soon, they will announce they will sell many (anywhere from 100 barrels to 1000 barrels) for 1 Oz of gold. When that happens, the repercussions to the USA will be felt in ways we don’t even want to think about.
That’s the main reason.
I think it’s because they keep breaking Blinken’s copyright to the ‘rules-based international order’©.
From a briefing by NATO Press Secretary Jamie Shea. Brussels, May 25, 1999:
The command and control systems also depend on electricity. If Milosevic really wants his citizens to have water and electricity, all he has to do is accept the NATO terms and we will stop this campaign. Until he does, we will continue to attack targets that supply his army with electricity. If this has consequences for the population, these are his problems. We are using water supply and electricity against the people of Serbia. We have “cut them off” forever or for a long time for the sake of the lives of 1.6 million Kosovars who have been driven from their homes and whose lives have been seriously damaged.
The entire unedited quote.
Question (Norwegian News Agency): I am sorry Jamie but if you say that the Army has a lot of back-up generators, why are you depriving 70% of the country of not only electricity, but also water supply, if he has so much back-up electricity that he can use because you say you are only targeting military targets?
Jamie Shea : Yes, I’m afraid electricity also drives command and control systems. If President Milosevic really wants all of his population to have water and electricity all he has to do is accept NATO’s five conditions and we will stop this campaign. But as long as he doesn’t do so we will continue to attack those targets which provide the electricity for his armed forces. If that has civilian consequences, it’s for him to deal with but that water, that electricity is turned back on for the people of Serbia. Unfortunately it has been turned off for good or at least for a long, long time for all of those 1.6 million Kosovar Albanians who have been driven from their homes and who have suffered, not inconvenience, but suffered in many cases permanent damage to their lives. Now that may not be a distinction that everybody likes but for me that distinction is fundamental.
Can you imagine western reaction if Lavrov were to deliver this statement at the UN?
The command and control systems also depend on electricity. If Zelensky really wants his citizens to have water and electricity, all he has to do is accept the RF’s terms and we will stop this campaign. Until he does, we will continue to attack targets that supply his army with electricity. If this has consequences for the population, these are his problems. We are using water supply and electricity against the people of Ukraine. We have “cut them off” forever or for a long time for the sake of the lives of millions of citizens of the Donbass who have been driven from their homes and whose lives have been seriously damaged.
Steve, I was about to post the same thing. Putin dealt with the Wall St. backed reforms of Yegor Gaidar and his American adviser Jeffrey Sachs. During the privatization phase a few oligarchs were created that had built their wealth by looting Russia of all of its assets for next to nothing. The common people suffered tremendously but Wall St. and the city of London benefited. Some of these “reforms” are starting to become very familiar in the U.S. and the “Western” world today.
They also hate Putin for solving the Chechen war and stabilizing the Russian military. It took 20 years but Russia is back to being a major world political power. Almost unthinkable when Putin took power in 2000.
Steven,
Thank you for this comment. You kept me from having to write one. After all of the suffering Russians endured during the Yeltsin years, thanks to widespread privatization and the numerous doses of economic “shock therapy”, Western corporations were close to getting controlling interests over Russian energy resources. What the rich who run America really hate Putin for is that they could already taste all of that wealth.
Like “Deep Throat” told Woodward and Bernstein during their Watergate investigation, if you want to get at the root of things in America, follow the money.
Things are very simple. As a woman I’ll tell you the secret – it’s about testosterone level, or lack of it. Putin has a lots of if and they are jealous.
🎯 probably why he and DJT could co-exist, respect and understand each other. Many shared values and attitudes foe their countries and the citizens.
They know how much bigger of a man – it is really necessary to explain that the last word on this particular context is synonym to human – he is and they admire him, and that makes them feel really small
I did mean to write “- is it really necessary (..) ? – “
The more the Ukraine conflict drags on, the U.S. further depletes its stock of weapons, and the less threat the U.S. is to Russia. Additionally, it would damage the U.S. Treasury by incurring hundreds of billions in debt to fund more weapons (which takes years) and weaken the dollar’s hegemony. At some point, Europe will no longer be a U.S. vassal. The U.S. should realize friends come and go, but enemies accumulate, i.e., ancient Rome.
And boy oh boy has the west made plenty of the later.
Europe will always be US vassal. Zero chance otherwise. EU was one chance to be independent. They blew that.
“Europe” is not one entity, or homogeneous. The EU project was/is an attempt to make it so. That project has failed.
Europe will be a geographical area made up of numerous independent countries.
Europeans, the rank and file citizens, want this. And when the treasonous scum at the top are faced with their own doom they will realise that they want it too.
And the less a threat the US is to China. Might be why Xi seems to have a smile or smirk always. Then again it wouldn’t surprise me if he ends the protests while also invading Taiwan
I don’t believe that Xi has any intentions of invading Taiwan. The recent Taiwanese elections were a disaster for the incumbent party (the woke US-aligned idiots). The average Taiwanese feels a part of China, not the West. The voters were very clear on this. Thus there is no need to invade. The insidious, lying media propagandists in the west would have us believe otherwise, but why listen to them on this subject when they lie to us about everything else?
If Putin succeeds in transitioning to a multipolar world without WW3 he will be the greatest hero of our times. Great leader and visionary.
Americans hate whom their political tribe’s talking heads on television or Twitter tell them to hate. I have never known people as blindly tribalistic as Americans, and I live in a majority tribal society. They can literally turn their stance on any topic 180° in a millisecond on the basis of what CNN or whoever tells them. Reason doesn’t enter into it. It is the tribal requirement to say black is white if the tribal shaman so decrees, or gave expulsion from the tribe. And having sacrificed the friend/family/neighbourhood network that most people in other parts of the world take for granted, their political tribe is the only thing that they have.
*face, not gave. You need an edit button.
Well said, BP. Thank you. I believe tribalism is a big part of the problem, though our “tribe” per se is a contrived one to say the least, mostly formed by simplistic, indoctrinated viewpoints inculcated by mind-numbing repetitions on mainstream media and the uttermost lack of almost any degree of sentience within the body politic. Logic and reason are in abeyance, and the “unnggh” mindset of “bad-man Putin” is an easy one to lock onto for the dissociative and numbed out public. Re: Steven and O.B.: I have great respect for Putin. Whether is part of the WEF or not is a whole ‘nother discussion. I do believe, ala Hedrick Smith’s The Russians, that Putin is following Russia’s national interests and not the US-European driven globalist approach, hence the attacks and efforts to undercut him. Sure will be an interesting next 10 years – if we last that long. Cheers to Larry J for attempting to help people think for themselves!
Your assertion that “their political tribe is the only thing that they have” is similar to my own thinking. People living in America (especially the leftists) are so easily stampeded by those who own and operate our corporate media because we have been significantly detribalized and denationalized as part of the deliberate multi-generational post-marxist project to destroy European America. Many do not know where they come from or have any positive sense of the future. This makes them easier to manipulate by the rootless merchants and financialists who control the manufacture of our fiat currency and who have used this power to hijack our traditional civilizational mission of liberty. Individuals who have neither tribe nor nation are prey animals in a herd of one, easy meat for cooperative predators who do.
There never has been an (one) American nation. Almost everyone refers to ‘nation’ when they should say ‘country’ or ‘people’. The original American people started out as a federation of essentially European ethnostates (like Switzerland) each with a distinct majority nation, e.g. Virginia, with its own distinctive cultural mores. Some are similar to each other and not so similar to others.
The descendants of the original American peoples are still here, maintaining communities as best we can. Real Virginians are still in much of Virginia (having been essentially ethnically cleansed from the northern part of their state by the overflowing toilet bowl we call Washington DC) as are Georgians, North and South Carolinians, New Yorkers, Vermonters, and so on and so forth. Overlay onto this network of real American communities the rootless white left who are comprised of those least resistant to having subverted their traditional means of identity formation and associated system of emotional self worth. These people have no sense of community, of the belonging, that is vital to emotional health and well-being. Their fake tribe is all that have.
Now overlay onto that the half of the population living in America who are simply paperwork Americans. The vast majority embrace none of our traditional culture and its mores. Why would they? They have their own, at least until they have been here long enough to have theirs replaced by the leftist filth spewing from Hollywood. Some come as conquerors. Some come to just loot the place as best they can.
The American Democratic Party is essentially an alliance, organized and owned by the oligarchy, between these people and the white leftists. That alliance won’t last much longer. It is set against the Republican Party, also owned by the oligarchy, but electorally supported by Heritage Americans and the small minority of immigrants who actually came here to join us instead of plunder us.
The instability from the resultant cultural inhomogeneity is leverage by the oligarchy of the Globalist American Empire to prevent defense against their predations. Americans, authentic and synthetic, have been weaponized by our oligarchy in much the same way that the oligarchs in Ukraine weaponized those poor hapless fools into charging into Russian artillery fire in the vain hope that could recapture the oligarchs’ playground that the Ukrainians foolishly think is actually their country.
Where do we go from here? If reform at the country level proves impossible, then collapse is the cure.

Excellent response, top to bottom. Bravo.
the main issue with Americans is that are they are uneducated, they don’t have any kind of culture, no kind of belonging to an ethnic group, the real Americans were displaced from their lands and piled in the reservations then they were almost eradicated by the American Government with Small pocks, 90% of Native Americans they died as a result of exposure to diseases from the colonizers or they were simply massacred by the US Army… America needs first of all an education system that produces Intellectuals not ANTIFA members… these American intellectuals are nothing else than Empty Suits… let’s stop blaming only the mass media and let’s also see the US Citizens’ fault. they are 100% ignorant and live by plundering the rest of the planet…. This is what the US Government dose and because there is a very high standard of living for a large percentage of the population, they turn their backs and pretend not to see what the Government do .let’s stop being hypocrites and stop hiding this truth…
I would disagree that they “don’t have any kind of culture.” Our culture is very parochial. The lack of education is a huge problem.
Well said, Steffen!
Please allow me to add:
It’s not just the lack of true education (actually, complete lack of critical thinking, that is not only missing but actively discouraged in the so-called “schools” and “universities” in this country) that is to blame for the American population willingly and gladly buying any BS, warmongering, and lies the US Gov shoves down their throats. It is also the European roots of the majority of the US population that is the root cause of Western atrocities towards the rest of the world.
What is Europe known for, culturally and religiously?
Well, let’s see:
– Colonization of the rest of the world (except for Russia! they tried…) accompanied by genocide of the local populations, plundering of all their resources, and enslaving those who survived the genocide by the colonizers
– Invention of Nazism and Fascism (going hand in hand with the above)
– Crusades (just another form of genocide and plundering of the colonies) with religious / Vatican justifications
– Religious arrogance and “superiority” vs. other nations and religions (Super-humans / Arians / “Golden Billion” / you name it vs. Untermensch, i.e. the “rest of the world”)…
The so called “Americans” are simply an extension of the same European religious fanatics and nationalists who landed in the modern USA and Canada back in 1607, exterminated the local population (in full accordance with their beliefs of own SUPERIORITY over local Untermensch), cordoned the remaining 10% of those who were not killed off into concentration camps (called “Reservations”), plundered their wealth, and then went on to do the same to the rest of the world.
As for the root cause of the hatred towards Vladimir Putin?!
Well, he was The FIRST LEADER since 1941 who had the gall to challenge the Chthonic Evil that is the West. And he did this on a Global Scale (not just in one country or region like Slobodan Milošević, or Saddam Hussein, or Muamar Gaddafi).
Hence the hatred towards him is WELL BEYOND anyone before him… The Chthonic Evil is feeling threatened like it has never felt before…
Some of this is highly misleading.
“Colonization of the rest of the world”
The world is permanent clan war, permanent tribal war, permanent ethnic war, permanent religious war, and permanent race war. The intensity can wax and wane on time scales longer than a human lifetime so the less observant think these peaceful minima constitute normality instead of simply lulls. My ancestors have done unto others what the ancestors of modern others did unto them. Modern ethnic Europeans owe no one apologies for their ancestors any more than anyone else owes Europeans apologies for the behavior of their own ancestors. Read the histories of other cultures and compare and contrast. Attempts (failures, to be sure) to move beyond this unending cycle of tragedy entirely originated with European people.
“Invention of Nazism and Fascism”
These are direct reactions to the rise of communism culminating in Soviet Bolshevism. The horror of early Soviet communism was not the fruit of baseline ethnic Europeans.
“Crusades (just another form of genocide and plundering of the colonies)”
The Crusades were not an attack but a counter attack. Our civilizational realm did not used to be called ‘the West’ or ‘Europe, but was called ‘Christendom’ and encompassed the entire Mediterranean Sea. Roughly 2/3 of our realm was genocided by a millennium of jihad. The only apology we owe anyone for the Crusades is for their ultimate failure.
“Religious arrogance and “superiority” vs. other nations and religions”
I’ll quote Joseph Sobran here:
“The concept of envy — the hatred of the superior — has dropped out of our moral vocabulary. The idea that white Christian civilization is hated more for its virtues than its sins doesn’t occur to us, because it’s not a nice idea. Western man towers over the rest of the world in ways so large as to be almost inexpressible. It’s Western exploration, science, and conquest that have revealed the world to itself. Other races feel like subjects of western power long after colonialism, imperialism and slavery have disappeared. The charge of racism puzzles whites who feel not hostility, but only baffled good will, because they don’t grasp what it really means: humiliation. The white man presents an image of superiority even when he isn’t conscious of it. Superiority excites envy. Destroying white civilization is the inmost desire of the league of designated victims we call ‘minorities.’” — Joseph Sobran (April 1997)
> Invention of Nazism and Fascism”
These are direct reactions to the rise of communism culminating in Soviet Bolshevism
Oh, really?
I could ask of Belgian Congo, of concentration camps in Orange Republic, of Opium Wars…
I can recall the Manifest Destiny of one “irreplacoble nation”.
But let’s just look at Vatican.
The “saint” Bernard was promoted (and still is) for coining the foundation of Catholic foreign policy: the holy war should be continued until either wrong faith or wrong ethnicity perishes.
“until wrong ethnicity perishes”
Hitler could not had said this better.
And it was coined and rewarded 800 years before him and Lenin were born.
Steffen
The standard of living of ordinary Americans has nothing to do with “plundering the rest of the planet”. That benefits solely the cabal which controls the US government.
The US was globally pre-eminent as an industrial power before WWII and for decades after, as well as being self-sufficient in agriculture, minerals and energy. It was so because of its natural resources and the skill, responsibility and industry of its people, which at that time comprised a nation. Nothing to do with “plundering the planet”.
Whatever exploitative profits the United Fruit Company and its ilk made from other countries went to their owners not US citizens generally and the latter did not depend on imported bananas for their diet.
The industry and jobs once created and enjoyed by the US population, without any dependence on plunder from the rest of the planet, have largely been shipped to China, for the mutual benefit of China and the cabal that controls the US.
US citizens have been and are being enslaved by those who control the US government, media and industry. One does not have to look very hard to see that within that group there is one element whose representation vastly exceeds their share of the population, incidentally a group which had virtually no presence in the era when the US was created, but did have a disproportionate presence in the cabal which took over Russia in the early 1900s.
So far as “US Citizens’ fault”, a law-abiding people is particularly at risk from a coup mounted through electoral fraud, as has been occurring in the US over decades. Law-abiding citizens find it difficult to believe such fraud could be occurring, which depresses motivation to act, and their values militate against taking “lawless” action to remove those engage in and benefiting from the coup and who thus control the government and the “lawful” means of removing them.
The power of the tolerant people who built the US have been additionally subverted by mass immigration of people with quite different values than those who built the US and values often absolutely opposed to the values and principles of the US Constitution. That immigration was actively pushed by the group which now controls the US.
Point the finger of blame at the true malefactors, not at the US population generally and certainly not at the descendants of those who built the country, as opposed to more recent imports.
I agree on the point that “within that group there is one element whose representation vastly exceeds their share of the population”, Bazza.
And I don’t care about being so PC about it as you seem to be, so, I’ll just call it as it is. Yes, Jews completely control what is now known as US of A. Top to bottom. Government (Congress, Senate, the so called “President”), corporations (via BlackRock, Vangard, etc.), all Gov agencies, all mass media, all social media, Hollywood, Wall Street, you name it.
They also control and call the shots in Europe, which is now basically a completely submissive slave to the global Jew-cabal (jew-Kabbalah?!) and the US / Israel.
I completely disagree, though, that the commoners who like good sheeple that they are, go to the voting booths every now and then and “vote” for just another installment of Jew-servants into the White House, into the Congress, and into the Senate, are so innocent and blameless.
I understand the “system” is completely stacked against the sheeple and all they can seemingly do is “vote” between option A (jew-picked) and option B (also jew-picked as well), and feel like they have a choice. There is no option C, which is not jew-picked, so, what can they do?! Well, if only the sheeple had the brains and the critical thinking faculties to figure out that they do have the power to overthrow the rigged system, but in order to do that they do need to stop, well, being “SHEEPLE”…
Albeit, that is something that is well outside of the realm of possibilities in the West in general and the in the good US of A in particular…
…and thus this West and its jew-masters will continue until it’s (they’re) no more.
Don’t point the finger means don’t point the finger. Unfortunately you point it at the end of your squib. US citizens have to take responsibility for what their elites have done and continue to do around the world. You seem still to be arguing for US exceptionalism, even while claiming that the exceptional people have had the power taken from them due to their exceptional high-mindedness. No?
You’re right, America is many nations. Just like Russia, or China. The difference is, they’re making it work while we’re failing.
I suspect that ultimately this is the root of the hatred of Russia. They’re everything we pretend to be. We’re buttmad because we don’t measure up.
I know that ‘immigrants/minorities are here to steal our stuff’ is a conservative meme, but is that really true? Black turnout in 2022 was in the toilet. Hispanic men ain’t down with this woke shit – call Enrique Latinx and see what happens to your face 😀 Muslim men aren’t either; see Hassan Shami’s crusade against LGBTQCIA+ in Dearborn. We should be joining him.
All socially conservative minded men – rural whites, blacks, Hispanics, orthodox Jews, and Muslims, need to squash whatever beef we have and unite. This is the potential of MAGA. The globalists and their degenerate scum toadies would literally shit their pants if we could pull it off.
https://i.redd.it/qq0z40aic7i21.jpg
Man, you nailed it! I agree with you wholeheartedly.
If you deny and refuse to see electoral fraud, then you enable it.
Who said anything about that? Even our high school history books admit that the Democrats have been cheating since their founding. And what have Republicans done, other than bitch and moan about it?
Republicans (other than MAGA) are not presenting an alternative vision of America. Until they can do that they don’t deserve to win.
All socially conservative minded men – rural whites, blacks, Hispanics, orthodox Jews, and Muslims, need to squash whatever beef we have and unite. This is the potential of MAGA. The globalists and their degenerate scum toadies would literally shit their pants if we could pull it off. — Randolorian
This… is absolute necessity. Recognizing that only united we stand can counter divide them and rule.
@ Horace… Powrful post.
Here is a great quote: God will not change what is within a people until they change what is in within themselves.
Well stated Horace
A typical white US view. You use the noun “American” and describe white USA as “descendants of the original American peoples” rather than the true Americans. Are you a native American? No.
US citizens are no more, or less, American than Mexicans or Chileans.
No one cares. We were born here and we are connected to this land. We are a real people whether you acknowledge it or not.
Whats even more bizarre is thst our current elites for most of their lives said the absolute worst thing you could do is be close minded and to “stereotype” others or to restrict free speech. And here they are now doing that very thing .. indeed exceeding the thing they protested by a factor of a thousand. They literally may be one of the worst elite group ever seen. And it grieves me to say this, because I’m obliged to damn most of my siblings
While Biden is the “president” I don’t think it’s possible to reforge normal or even semi-normal relations between US & Russia. Putin hasn’t bent the knee to Biden & the wizard behind the curtain, he isn’t woke, is promoting Christian values & the nitwits here are trying to destroy God & people’s faith in God. As Sundance says, they’re “big mad”.
Nor do I think Putin will want to engage with them, he’s trying to get through & expose the US in the UN Security Council & has already submitted evidence on the biolabs.

Remind me of the bully in neighborhoods &/or schools, always used to getting their way, no flack, no resistance, total control, & loves to beat up & push around the weaklings & especially the one perceived as a threat to them maintaining their (fake) superiority, power, control, & commands to the peons.
I also grew up in the 60’s & 70’s, & don’t remember anybody getting the same hatred. Khadalfi, Osama bin Laden were close (but still not close enough to Putin) after they were demonized for nefarious reasons…
Khadalfi Research him and how the country was run and the benifits that the people had under him and compare it to the shithole it is now thanks once again to America which to say the least is in many ways nowhere near Libya under Khadalfi. Was it perfect no but then he didnt sloaughter and maim and drive millions insane aned fuk of home leavint that and millions of landmines behind him if he had done those things as Americas lacky man he would still be on a pedestal. Read everything please not every country wants the crappy very corrupt system of America it needs a hell of a lot of cleaning and i dont think that even Herucles could shovel that much sh1t.

“WHY THE DEEP, VISCERAL, CRAZY HATRED OF PUTIN?”
I was going to answer, “Jealousy”. But on further reflection, it’s really, “Jealousy and Fear”.
Maybe the realization they have destroyed their grift and there is no where to turn but more of the same. We appear to be outclassed and that there is no point in showing how behind we are when we have a system that gives big money to the lowest bidder.
And it is all “on purpose” like we used to say in the 60’s when we were kids and wanted someone to know we were for sure telling the truth. It meant something when we were kids.
Putin snatched Russia out of the hands of the West (US) after he took over as Russia’s president from Yeltsin and he has been on the hit list since.
They hate him because he has consistently outplayed them and made them look like the fools they are. Hell knows no fury like a fool exposed.
Putin was Yeltsin’s payback for NATO (the US) attacking Serbia.
Yeltsin is directly responsible for downfall of Russia, and an accomplice in things happening in Yugoslavia. Most of Putin’s work is about fixing the mess left after Yeltsin and Gorbachev. It’s pretty easy to see why west loves Yeltsin & Gorbachev and hates Putin.
Speaking of Yugoslavia, some say that Serbs sarcrifised themselves in order to slow down NATO and give Russia more time to prepare (and even make parallels with early WWII where Germany had to divert some forces to deal with those pesky Serbs).
He wasn’t Yeltsins payback. In fact Yeltsin promoted him for the job, because he wanted Putin to protect him from being pursued for his actions as President. The oligarchs, especially Berezhovsky, thought that Putin was their man, and fought assiduously to have him slipped in as President. He surprised them all, though he did tell them, they could keep their ill-gotten gains, as long as they didn’t meddle in politics. Khodorkofsky didn’take the hint, so he was taken down and got jail time for his tax evasion and lost his (I think oil, or was it gas?) company which was nationalised. At the time he was on the brink of selling it to if i remember correctly, a Rothschild controlled western oil company.
In my view, Putin is the most outstanding national leader of our times. Nobody today in the world comes close as a single individual leader. I believe if we survive to have the history of our times written, he will be recorded as Vladimir the Great. And that at least is one of the reasons they hate him.
hatred is because he is outsmarting west in their every move consistently from last 2 decades
I think for a pure white good Ukraine it is nessecery to have an evil counterpart. So Putin must be evil. The rest is done by the propaganda departments of the media.
In Germany it is said that: Putin ist Schuld! (Putin is to blame!)
And because he is evil, no further disussion is needed. And who ever takes an argument to show it to be fake, is suspicious. Could be an evil person, too. Because he or she does not seem to think of Putin as evil.
Its just this simple.
But behind this I suspect that the left, who is in charge in Germany (and for being german I can only speak about Germany) hates Putin, because he is not willing to be part in their plans for a one world government.
If you watch Vladimir Pozner’s presentation on youtube, he argues that it is actually the West which turned Putin from a regular politician to this current version. Had the West not attempted to turn Georgia and Ukraine into a NATO fort against Russia, in all likelihood Putin would have faded into the obscurity by this time.
“Had the West not attempted to turn Georgia and Ukraine into a NATO fort against Russia, in all likelihood Putin would have faded into the obscurity by this time.”
Dubious. This ignores the extent of the conflict between Russia and the Western oligarchs.
No doubt! It’s always worth listening Vladimir Pozner about “How the United States Created Vladimir Putin”:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X7Ng75e5gQ&t=541s
A Russian intellectual who for the West was never more than a Soviet propagandist – for a change – and a fierce critic of Putin until a few years ago. But Pozner says nothing of the 2nd part of his conclusion. Both Putin and Medeved were the two most pro-Western men to arrive at the Kremlin. Putin more pro-European and Medvedev more pro-US. Obama’s friend Burger Boy.
While Putin is always portrayed as the cold KGB spy who arrived at the Kremlin. Who kills political oppositionists with 1% in the polls that nobody knows in Russia and Russian spies in England. But he never gets it right with the dose of radioactivity. When in fact Putin arrived at the Kremlin driving a taxi.
But yeah, both very liberal economically. Incidentally, it is very easy to think only of a purely extractive economy when we are sitting on top of several gold mines. And why not when we can buy everything done? And economically what changes Putin after greatly reducing poverty in Russia during his first term are the first economic sanctions in his second term. When he realizes that Russia has to be self-sufficient as soon as possible. Which forces him to get rid of several oligarchs committed to the City and Wall Street, mortal enemies to this day. At least the ones that haven’t died yet. This is followed by the turn to Russia’s Asian leg. But I want to believe that the connection with Europe has not died. With the right rulers in Europe, I believe it is still perfectly possible to re-establish the link with Europe. It just depends on Europe. And how Europe needs Russia. Europe starting to open its eyes to the US trap!
Germany, which said it had full gas reserves and meanwhile already announced energy cuts in January and consumes 200 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year, has now managed to close 137 thousand cubic meters for December. WOW. And 2 million/year from Qatar from 2026. Great Habeck.
Putin’s wars against western proxies started in Chechenia.
I think Putin & the Russians would be willing to engage… really re-engage… the Russians have been willing to engage all along… as equal nation-states & governments with equal national interests… to be respected… through word and more important, deeds.
But now the U. S. has to show good faith… something in short supply in the West.
But it can be done… with different leaders with different policy.
I know this seems unlikely… perhaps it will take a failure in Ukraine… if we can survive it.
The key is a leader from the Realism school of international relations… with a political mandate from the electorate… and new functionaries & diplomatic representatives.
A tall order, I know… but what else do we work for…
Americans can do it… that’s the promise of the Constitution.
I won’t give up on that… ever.
I believe that it’ll take a long, long time for trust and confidence to be restored. The collective West and the US/UK in particular, has repeatedly exposed itself of being deceitful, agreement incapable and morally decrepit. No sane leader could have any confidence or assurance in any treaty or accord signed by the said West. I believe that the 83% of the world, interested in fairness and multipolarity will move on and the patently corrupt UN, IMF, WHO etc, etc, will be replaced with impartial and equitable systems admired and adhered to by all……and perhaps the West, somewhere in the future, after a period of reflective quarantine and expiation, may join the real world again
i do not believe one can reestablish a trust broken over night.there will always be memory of “the last time we had an agreement”.I am 70yrs old .i will not see trust of America in my life nor will my daughter. In russia and the whole World.we really have “screwed the pooch” this time.
One of the big problems, as I see it (and as Charles Barkley once said, “I mahht be wrong”), is that we have a whole passel of folks in these here United States (and more coming in by the minute) who don’t know ‘jack’ about the Constitution or “America”. They just see our wealth and compare it to wherever they came from, and it was a no-brainer to come here. It’s almost like posting a sign on the Rio Grande, “Free Money” over on the other side. “Come and get it!”. And of course this was exactly what George Soros and his Open Borders Program wanted – to destroy America by bringing in a bunch of foreigners with no allegiance to America.
Well, it was done before, several times, and in Europe too, and with each successive wave of immigration I’m sure people accused the immigrants of ‘trying to destroy the country’ – forgetting that they too are offspring of immigrants and that the same accusations were made against their people. So your words are a microcosm of the larger problem of US exceptionalism ‘it’s okay when we do it because we’re us’.
Our Progressive culture demands an enemy.
If a real enemy doesn’t exist for a Progressive society, one must be created.
Putin is “Emmanuel Goldstein”, the focal point of the “two minutes of hate.”
This was supposed to be the crown jewel of the conquests planned under the PNAC plans all the way back to the nineties. Each war was a little less successful than the last. While the 2014 coup was successful, fighting Russia is different than Iraq, or Syria or Libya for readily apparent reasons. Plus, under Putin Russia’s military and general economy has surpassed what it had been under the Soviets.
I’ve come across Americans who, 1.) know nothing about the Nazi nature of the Ukraine or of the OUN-B’s long relationship with the US. The OSS and its successor nurtured fascist movements, at first using the Republican Party, and then for some reason, in the nineties, switching to the Democrats and the Clintons; and 2.) know nothing about Putin.
I will be curious when the Russians begin rounding up and charging the Nazis. At a certain point the denial of Nazis in Ukraine (many Americans still believe that there are none there) will have to be answered.
Biden and the Dems would be fools to run him for reelection.
Dear Larry, I am French and I live in Paris. I read to you every morning while drinking my first coffee. Thank you for what you have the courage to write. Anti-Russian propaganda is fierce and absurd in my country. Access to RT and Rumble is blocked. But, for a few years, probably since President Obama made the pivot towards Asia, I have seen anti-Chinese propaganda emerge and then unfold in a more aggressive fashion. And as always, the USA is the conductor. The fable relating to the Uyghur concentration camps is an illustration of this. We Westerners supported the Taliban to harm the Soviets, then ISIS to harm the Russians, and now the Turkic terrorists of CHINA. Like all psychpaths, Westerners do not change their modus operandi. Russia is not our enemy any more than CHINA. And we Western countries are not models of democracy.
Why? He’s a threat to the rules-based international order, whatever that is. Well, we do know what it is, don’t we? An oxymoron of sorts.
On a more serious note: You see the problems NATO is having with Turkish obstinance. Multiply that 20 fold if NATO had ever acquiesced to admitting Russia. They’re both too independently minded to be the team players Washington requires.
What you have in NATO is what I see out my window every so often, a parade of wild turkeys crossing the meadow, with one tom turkey leading the pack and the rest, following in genetically programmed unison. Has anyone ever seen two toms at the head? Besides, accepting Russia into NATO would have destroyed its raison d’etre. So, what’s the inevitable conclusion? Tom on the dinner table or pardoned for another year? We shall see, I guess.
Simple: Follow the money. It’s the propaganda of ownership, in this case not ownership over a powerful leader of a multi polar world. Reagan Thatcher Gorbachev & Bush blew it, well actually twas the CIA over JFK. Follow the money.
Imo bringing sex into this change of scene is a big mistake, a bigotry, a revision to the past, or, no change at all – whereas the corruption of ‘The West’ encompasses every facet of life, maybe especially so called ‘religions’ preaching who we should be, one of the essences of what brought us to this chaos today.
Weird, isn’t it? We used to condemn the Soviets for repressing religion, now we condemn Russia for embracing it, while the new western wokeness is now the one repressing it.
I really can’t understand why anyone could or would ever take us seriously. We are a walking, talking multichotomy of mutually exclusive gibberish dressed in its Sunday best, like some deranged lunatic in a tweed jacket on a Piccadilly pulpit.
I think you’ve addressed the reasons quite clearly. They hate anyone who doesn’t roll over immediately.
You see similar, systematic lies being pushed for our PM Narendra Modi.
There is an old saying — A lie is more easily swallowed when sandwiched between two truths. And, while true, it pales in comparison to raw emotional appeal… which can be used to demonize and scapegoat the other and create an enemy in the minds of targeted populations. Constant repetition is required.
A velvet glove of propaganda rules the USA, for now, but they want to use the iron fist… and if they lose in Ukraine, they’ll turn their fury homeward and rage against domestic enemies to prove they are not impotent.
i fear the fury and rage is already here.
“It is an unpardonable sin” Doubtless, given the west’s adamant agenda of perversion of age-old social mores and its dedication to imposing such agenda upon the whole world, Russia’s rejection of and ability to thwart their plans makes them (demon-possessed fiends) mad with hatred.
Secondly, certainly, Russia’s independent international path – and ability to pursue it – drives the devils out of their mind.
Shouldn’t we add a third leg to this stool of venom? Russia’s possession of endless natural wealth – which the west cannot do without, energises their fiendish demon: envy (an unbearable companion – no peace for the wicked). So, it is not only need they have but an all-consuming greed, and overwhelming load of covetousness.
(The latter is born out by their covert and overt endeavours to crush the Russian state and divide up the land into the most convenient fiefdoms)
Well, Vladimir Vladimirovic is not controlled by the easter bunny and the teleprompter, isn’t that enough??
RT: “My president turned the whole country around in 20 years and made it a self-sufficient super power that withstood the worst economic sanctions the world has ever seen, while fighting all of NATO successfully and uniting the global south”.
CNN: “My president cannot finish a sentence ’cause the last Botox tightened the brain so much, the teeth cannot follow. We can see our country sliding down for the last 30 years and it doesn’t even seem to matter who the president is anymore. Hello Soviet Union.”
France Presse: “My president likes grandmas and that’s all he cares about – Mommy complex!”
Deutsche Welle: “My president left his balls by the door and likes to be dominated by his foreign minister”.
BBC: “My prime minister…. who is he again? We had 3 in 3 months and for a while we thought the Downing St. 10 cat was going to be the prime minister”.
The Globe and Mail: “My prime minister does yoga and THAT’S WHAT MATTERS”
So on and so on, you get the gist.
That was very creative. Kudos
very close to LOL.
OK, I give in what is the name of the next PM, No 10 cat?
How far back in time should we go? I’ll start at the Rome/Constantinople split. Orthodoxy versus Vatican. Similar to to Sunni/Shia in the Muslem world. The more I research, the more convinced I am that Roman Catholicism and the offshoot Protestant reformation religions have been subverted, particularly via Latin translations. Words, meanings, morals, and ethics all matter. The Pope is now essentially Wormwood, and Protestantism is not far behind that in worshipping Israel as much as God. Everything has gone insane.
It’s clear that Putin stopped the rape of Russian resources after the USSR fell, particularly by the jewish oligarchs. It’s not well known, but many Russian (and Ukrainian) jews emigrated to the US and Canada after Putin started defending his turf. The anti-Putin propaganda is now fueled by the mainstream press… and who owns them again??? Why is the ADL attempting to prevent the “reach” of free speech on Musk’s Twitter?
Who initiated PNAC? Neo-cons? Who were they? I worked for an important piece of that puzzle decades ago. Every country they envisioned taking over was on the list, incuding Russia. It has not stopped, nor will it ever stop, until we put an end to it. But Putin might just beat us to it.
The US, holding a pair of deuces, makes threats. The US military cannot fight even a single front peer war because the assets aren’t there, industrial capacity is gone, the capable workforce is hollow, and the assets we have will get incinerated or sunk before employment. US threats amount now to only 3 things: sanctions, nuclear war, or biological. Why do you think China is so harshly locking down due to covid? They believe covid was a US intentionally released practice bioweapon.
Completely agree on all counts, Rogue!
Well said.
” Why do you think China is so harshly locking down due to covid? They believe covid was a US intentionally released practice bioweapon”.
That, my friend, is the first answer to that question I have seen that has any rationale to it. Otherwise Xi and Co. just look idiotic and malevolent.
There was a Brazilian philosopher, named Olavo de Carvalho who said some years ago:
“In the future the only allowed religions in the west will be anal sex and marijuana”
This “philosopher” spoken of everything but his life example. One of the daughters of her polygamous phase did the world this favor.
Quickly, because they realized a long time ago that Putin will never bow to the US and the current Unipolar World Order with a Sheriff in Washington. The US rule-based Order that emerged from the dissolution of the USSR after the US betrayed Russia. When the US starts to see Russia as a defeated power, which Putin also does not accept! More seriously, the Order that replaced the Order based on the UN Charter and International Law that emerged from WWII in which many Europeans believe we live. And what Putin wants to return to. Finally, where Larry sees the birth of this hatred well is in the eyes of John MCain at the 2007 Munich Security Conference during Putin’s speech. That the US and the gas pump man never forgave Putin.
And as we all know, hate, like any disease when not treated, always tends to grow. In short, it’s all about American exceptionalism and hegemony. A stupid belief, as in many sects, in something that doesn’t even exist. And the Americans forgive me, on behalf of a country with the least history in the world. Little more than two centuries. Something that must never have occurred to the American military when they invaded the cradle of our civilization in Iraq. For a few barrels of oil. And an ex-boyfriend from the US.
I believe the West (in its current mindset typified by the WEF etc.) hate Putin because he stands for the things it hates the most: God, Country, Family and Freedom (from the globalists).
And, to stoke its hatred even more, Putin was able to turn Russia around from a post-Soviet basket case being plundered by the West (and its lackies) to a military powerhouse that is (largely) self-sufficient, with restored pride in itself and confident about its place in the world – and, in particular, its neighbourhood.
Putin derangment also relates to “muscular” democrat foreign policy (all the nasty things Reagan did in Central America, times ten, in North Africa, eastern Europe etc). Compare the propaganda version of Milosevic with his speach at the 600th anniversary of the battle of Kosovo Polje: Never before in history have the Serbs lived alone in Serbia. More and more, and more and more successfully, people of different races, religions, and nationalities are living together. This is especially true in the advanced countries… (Quote from Fool’s Crusade, Diane Johnstone)
Re Wikipedia, when a cause (especially US democrat) is ascendant, they will toe the line. As an example, as recently as six years ago, it was impossible to mention the Ugandan invasion of Rwanda in 1990, and continuing occupation, in regards the killings in 1994. It still is impossible to mention that by the Ugandans’ estimation, they killed 1-2 million baHutu that year (Hakizimana), or that the 1991 census found 600,000 baTúutsi, or that the IBUKA organization (with strong Ugandan ties) estimated 400-500,000 baTúutsi survivors of 1994. Note that Hillary Clinton played an important role in the fraudulent prosecution of Jean Paul Akayesu on rape charges, securing his conviction, while a prosecution investigator has come forward with specific evidence of his innocence.
Notice on the linked Wikipedia pages “scholars estimate”—were the cause not democrat sponsored, that phrase would get tagged “who?”
Who, is Adriaan Zenz, as the principal source of information. The claim of a million incarcerated is a rising estimate over time. The principal incarcerated people were al Qaeda linked. Note e.g. the large number of Uyghurs in Jisr al Shughur, Syria.
If you are interested, I have the 2016-2019 Xinjiang statistical yearbooks. I also have a friend who taught English at a private school in Urumqi. He found that the teachers (Uyghur and Han) were somewhat more disciplinarian toward the Uyghur children at the school than toward the Han children at the school. In public, Uyghurs are a large portion of the police (in Xinjiang). And it was common for civilians to get into heated arguments with police officers, regardless of ethnicity. So much so that it shows up in Chinese police themed sitcoms, although there are videos of actual demonstrations where that can be seen as well.
Then, there is the famous tank man…
At first, the Moscow potentates didn’t amount to much. Then came the Mogul invasion and the Moguls needed some local enforcers to keep their peace and collect taxes in the region. Moscow leapt at the chance and moved up. Once their power was consolidated, they turned on the Moguls and the Russian saga began.
Has Putin tapped into this Russian genesis story? He clearly was on good terms with the powers behind the WEF until he wasn’t–and then began his slow reclamation of Russian sovereignty. This conflict with the collective west was baked into the cake LONG ago. Yes, they have personalized their hate for many many reasons, but the root of it all is that Putin is an apostate to the globalist empire.
BTW, here and there you see perfectly reasonable people write that they still suspect Putin may be WEF controlled opposition, but I have to think we are way beyond that possibility.
Agreed.
“WHY THE DEEP, VISCERAL, CRAZY HATRED OF PUTIN?”
Look at the ideologues that govern the former USA, now AKA the ‘Promised Land’ and also known as the Khazars with their tribal brethren of stolen Palestine or Israel. Look at the jointly held love / preference of making war on the defenseless, woman and children – a priori. Look at their failures from the 1917 Bolshevik charade to all wars after this lot fled Europe and Russia to the USA. They are that which they embody and engender, a deadly homegrown virus designed to end all Life and note that they are Europeans of covetousness, ego, concupience or vice, by nature.
“”The essential characteristic of a good and healthy ruling elite, however, is that it views itself not as a function of the monarchy or the commonwealth, but as its very meaning and highest justification, and that it therefore accepts with a good conscience the sacrifice of untold human beings who, for its sake, must be reduced and lowered to incomplete human beings, to slaves, to instruments.”
Friedrich Nietzsche
Great analysis! Spot on! I immigrated to US from former Soviet Union. I loved US, democracy, freedom of speech, economic opportunity, freedom to worship. I feel all those great values are disappearing. Right now I am afraid for my children and future grandchildren to live in this country where homosexuality, transgenderism and even pedophilia are all becoming a norm, acceptance and even celebration. It is celebrated in media, forced on corporations in the forms of ESG, etc. Catholic Church stood silent for decades while allowing sexual abuse of THOUSANDS of children. So please, pope, shut up! I strongly believe Putin is fighting global sexual exploitation of children in addition to protecting Russia from economic rape by the west again. I often think to go back, especially after retirement. I have seen collapse of the country before, I really cannot live through it again.
“Catholic Church stood silent for decades while allowing sexual abuse of THOUSANDS of children.”
It has been longer than a few decades; there are documented reports of kiddie fiddling by the robed Rome creeps going back to at least 800AD.
Normal people can’t willingly kill other people. Our species has a switch for that. To turn OFF that switch you have to demonize your adversary. So, now you are not killing a human being, but a demon, a subhuman, a damaged goods person, a mistake of the nature, or any other lies that makes you happy.
So, in the case of Russians and Russia. We have 24/7 propaganda on ALL channels using all the above, PLUS whatever is developed in-house, but with the same goal, to demonize the Russians and Russia. (we’ve seen a similar mechanism against people who didn’t want the Covid vaccines for whatever reason).
If you stop and think about it’s all non-sense, but the humans are social herd animals, and the herd offers protection.
It’s also a good point. From the ongoing Russophobic campaign. I point it out myself many times. An advertisement too basic to be more noticeable. It is much easier to hate a man than a multicultural nation with so many centuries. But in the case of the US, the hatred runs much deeper than the ongoing Russophobic campaign. That’s why it’s propaganda!
I was reading the comments, and I found myself repeatedly thinking of Chris Hedges book “War and how it gives us meaning”. I happened to see him interviewed by Bill Moyers in the early 2000’s. I was so impressed I got the book. Boy, was that eye-opening & educational for how we demonize “the enemy” in order to go to war, & then we demonize the troops when they come home when we really ought to be supporting them for what they just did, usually on an innocent population.
Interestingly enough, few months later I met a neighbor who had spent a year in Afghanistan & came back with major PTSD & survivor’s guilt. I was able to be very different, supportive, & understanding after reading Hedges’ book. Sometimes after conversations about the war, he thanked me for being aware of that dynamic.
Twenty years later, what has been done to our troops is an absolute Crime against Humanity, mandating the “vaccine” in the name of “readiness”. What a bunch of crock, they’re getting VAIDS, dying suddenly, &/or disabled from the adverse effects along with millions of other people. Jeff is probably pissed off, thinking wt??, & spinning in his grave…
Where are our troops being demonized when they come home? Not in my city. Perhaps if the troops that signed up for these idiotic wars had not had been so willing to go then we would have had less of the idiotic wars.
A nice collection of reason why, From Victoria Nuland

Thank you but I think I’ll skip the ravings of a repackaged former trotskyiist neocon interventionist, using intellectually challenged neonazis to realize the other intellectually challenged goal of a globalist 4th Internationale in the repackaged name of a liberal interventionist world order.
Do I exaggerate? Maybe. I just go by the earlier writings of the founders of neoconservatism and extrapolate from there.
I read ZeroHedge daily because they often have articles that don’t follow the mainstream media line. And, I read the comments for entertainment and to see what a strongly opinionated, educated, red necked, America and freedom loving group of mostly men are thinking. I bet if you were to run a poll there with a single question. “Who would you prefer for President Biden or Putin?” It would probably run 90% in favor of Putin. I think he is respected because he was endlessly patient with America, came to the end of the line, gave an ultimatum and then, as John Wayne said, “A man’s got to do what a man’s got to do.”
Many at the ZH are libertarians, leave us alone and we don’t care what you do in your privacy of your home, as long you don’t crap on your front lawn, too many times. (it happens 🙂
As you said people like Putin, not because he’s a former KGB colonel, is short, and can speak for hours in few languages without any teleprompter. But because he turned around a very diverse country, the largest one on this planet, made it work, and kept it together. Plus, he hired the right people for the right job.
I believe Putin loves Russia, and wants to make it better. This is expected from every leader in the world, but very few fit this basic requirement for their OWN countries.
“Putin loves Russia,” is that not the definition of a patriot?
Your average American doesn’t know or care about Putin, Russia or Ukraine, so American hatred of Putin is limited to the American Ruling Class, the causes of which you correctly summarize.
Russia does not acquiesce in the woke project including:
—Green Masochism
—Normalization of sexual deviance
—Open borders
—Destruction of Christianity
—And most importantly one-world, unelected Leviathan government along the lines of the EU model.
Putin wants to protect his country and his fellow Russians from American aggression. Would that America had such a leader.
We did, then mad because he got fired, Allen Dulles had him killed in Dallas, Texas 59 years ago. And that was it for America. No leader since then not controlled.
For the narcissistic psychopaths running the Western governments, Putin’s Russia stands in the way of their near complete global domination of natural resources and human populations. Xi’s China will be next.
For the ordinary Westerner, Putin is just a face in the MSM and Russia is some strange, far away frozen dark land of half-humans . Because that’s what the 30 second soundbites from MSM and the political class tell them. Now children, regurgitage, move along, and collect your blue check, clicks and followers.
Larry, I think the question you raise is critical, and I would like to provide a bigger-picture answer; the propaganda leverages jealousy and bigotry but is irrational and highly self-defeating. Thus, it cannot be driven by such motives.
I think the reason is to lock the US and its political leaders to pursue re-segregating the world into two economic blocks, with the underlying belief that (as in the 1950s) the US block will be the wealthiest and most powerful though the west makes almost nothing, bases its economy on the printing press shooting trillions to the 0.00001%, has an educational system that can’t teach STEM, etc. (i.e., your POGO piece).
So the hatred is to unutterably convince Russia (and the BRICS, which are linked through energy and economy) that no matter who runs the West in the future, there is no point in negotiating a modus vivendi (with the agreement incapable west).
Considering the deep state revolt against Trump’s proposed efforts to normalize Russian relationships, I think we are seeing an effort to checkmate block future (Trump or other) efforts to re-integrate the West into the dynamic turtle island (Mackinder).
Because in every way it is an advantage to possess your complete personality, to reduce duplicity, for some the same is true for others it is not, so the expansion of consciousness is of essential importance. And it must never be forgotten that morality was not brought from Sinai in the form of tablets, which after all no one has ever seen, morality is a spiritual function of man, therefore man is more spiritual than material. Morality cannot be imposed from the outside, man has it a priori in himself, therefore, not a law but a moral being without which common life is impossible. With the advancement of culture, larger and larger human masses submit to the constraints of morality, and until today it has not been possible to ensure supremacy by moral law beyond the boundaries of society, that is, in the free space between two mutually independent communities. Because the blackest immorality always reigns among those others, which, however, only the enemies point out. Mr. Larry in Putin is the ultimate spiritual man-spiritual culture, because as you can clearly see only a material one-sided man is passive towards spiritual culture, and the mere fact that he is a man is not enough for him, and the life of humanity presents him with a question, which he must answer not only with promises , but by the way of being and acting, which Putin simply pursues and reveals what the humanity of One Man is. Until now, One man was perhaps a luxury, and the world did not rise enough, Dada appeared, One man, who wants One world to live, and not one Pride that is considered God. We are all the same, no one is superior, not even a judge, we are all awakened by the Buddha, to the golden heads of the ancient philosophy of Greece, and we were all with Genghis Khan and Hitler, etc., but Mr. Laryy, I believe that only a man in his own right can raise a universal man, which cannot be reduced to some abstraction of a common denominator. I believe that One world that can be started if One man appears who grew out of the archaic ties of soul and body and the spirit of the Earth, directed towards the Children of the Earth, the human Self of the highest value of ethics, for man to return to himself, the only moral obligation that man must respect , because he is capable of becoming human. I believe in it, I just doubt that a person will wake up quickly: what time of night is it, morning comes, and then night again, This experience has come to an end, but with that, as a rule, understanding ends, and even more regrettably readiness to learn something, do you want ask, ask and come back again, Putin does not allow the witchcraft of these little ones, he wants to return the individuality of man created by nature, and the teaching of Christ that Putin knows for the reason that opposites of opposites and enemies of enemies would be connected forever and hold each other, that man would be saved from all harm. I believe that Putin’s children are the beginning of a spiritual culture that embraces the end of a spiritual culture.
The HATE is NOT ABOUT PUTIN
Putin is a symbol. On him we project all the evil lurking within, attributing all our most hated attributes. Putin is our repressed shadow self, to state it [1] psychoanalytically.
[2] Sociologically, people most hate the group representing the group they think they have transcended. Progressives in church hate the fundamentalists. Even kids are at pains to emphasize how much they have outgrown the previous stage and mock those who are less far. This is also why liberals pretend that anybody who represents the sexual mores that were commonplace 20 years ago are not the past, but dangerous terrorists.
I disagree with framing of the question. The only thing “different about Putin” is his reputation & mass foreign and domestic perception of him. The general public simply respects and identifies with his position.
What “visceral” hate filled, lying, manipulative things have been spewed about Putin that wasn’t spewed in the very same way & angst against: Assad…Madero…Ghaddafi…Hussein…Osama Bin Ladin… that other Iranian President (?)…
They were all “dictators, autocrats, murderous, strong men, corrupt with corrupt regimes, their armies used viagra & raped everybody, they hate democracy, they hate free speech, they kill any opposition, they thwart “the rule of law”, they commit war crimes”…
Seriously, nothing being viscerally spewed about “Putin” is any different. The only difference is somehow Putin through the years has managed to let himself, his persona, his consistency be shared on the global stage.
To me, after 4 or 5 rounds of all this visceral hatred of a national leader somewhere, when it comes to Putin, I think WE are simply wiser. The gaslighting haters were always visceral hating mad men.
As for re-engagement, Russia is displaying already an engagement where business means and ends go, unless serious hot war, that will probably stay the same or improve. As for being an “ally”… with EU or US, never again.
Larry, you need to update your sources on the Uighurs.
Wikipedia simply cites the NYT and the BBC et al.
These are the same authorities lying about Ukraine.
Almost all the material about Uighurs comes from CIA et al funded organizations.
72 delegations from Islamic countries have found nothing.
Is it not curious that America hates Muslims & Chinese, but just love Chinese Muslims?
The ‘cultural’ genocide is a swampy term. The Uighurs have made huge gains in prosperity, almost up to snuff for China. Their numbers are increasing. The area is open to tourists and journalists. The UN Human Rights commissioner refused to sign off on the last report, and found nothing concerning on her weeks long investigational visit.
Brian Berletic (New Atlas) debunked the sourcing for all the demonization recently.
Do you have a link?

Uighurs/China: same game plan regurgitated from Chechens/Russia.
The emperor has no clothes except cryptodudes just keep sending him new underwear.
I agree. Just remember that China is the US’s main economic adversary. Or all the attempts at color revolutions and destabilization around China. Like around Russia.
The main problem today in our part of the world is that we have blamed the Soviets for so long and so well. There is no truly free and independent press. The big media groups were all bought up by the big oligarchs. And worse, all NGOs are nothing more than independent front organizations controlled by governments. And without independent media to scrutinize the powers that be, there is no Democracy. As simple as that.
The exception is very small independent groups that do not reach 99% of the herd. Russia itself, as it knows, is unable to fight large corporate groups and online platforms, indoctrinate or hire a dozen people in the West who are not truly independent either. And that’s how our world is. The “free world”. This is where we ended up unfortunately! With great difficulty in perceiving many realities today. So about the conflict in Ukraine 99.9% of what you hear from supporters on both sides is bullshit. Which on top of that there is no way to confirm. It just seems difficult to me that Russia is losing the conflict after all the territory it conquered with an expeditionary force and with the massive casualties in Ukraine that it is possible to confirm. Soon in the summer:
https://twitter.com/terror_alarm/status/1534535446046326784
And I will say more: “the Ukrainians will never have enough combat power to drive the Russians out of Ukraine,” said Twitty.
Incidentally, Ukraine only regains some territory when Russia withdraws. Except for this nobody knows Russia’s plans in Ukraine. Which are a long way from being just military. Incidentally, there was no peace in March because the West did not allow the agreement but many people who dream of Odessa insist that Russia made a mistake in the beginning? With Donbass independent, the land bridge to Russia and Crimea is consolidated with water and electricity. Without even questioning whether countries like China support a war of aggression for more territory in Ukraine? Militarily, Ukraine per se no longer exists and the objective now is neutrality. Pull back NATO from Ukraine. Again in negotiations or in the theater of operations. And demand a new security architecture from Europe.
He is hated because he has reversed decline of RU from the 90’s.
After the fall of USSR, West have hoped not only to plunder RU (in which they were moderately successful), but also to break it apart which they started with Chechnya, and were hoping that they could do it piece by piece, starve it of resources and money, disarm its nuclear arsenal either by paying them to disarm or by letting it decay due to lack of maintenance, and if they would achieve that, it would effectively mean that they have entire world under their control since China, India, Iran, etc. alone (without RU support) could not confront them, especially if West would have control of RU resources at their disposal, which would essentially mean resource abundance for the West and resource choking for the rest, which combined with military pressure could easily brake any other country.
With all of this said, they probably hated him from the first moment he has entered the office, but since back then they were still pretending to care about well-being of RU people, and he has exponentially increased their standard of living (West was frankly afraid to show RU people how much they hate their country since they were rightfully afraid that it would unite them), therefore, West could not publicly attack/hate him initially, but they had to build it up gradually over the years.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ma6pWGkctho is one
Please find a link to a typical NYT article from the mid 2010s’
https://archive.nytimes.com/sinosphere.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/02/26/deadly-attacks-in-xinjiang-go-unreported-in-china/
So the Uighurs were terrorists when they were fighting the Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, on the state dept. terrorist list, and the NYT is reporting their predilection for beheading and knife attacks in Xinjiang, which just happens to be a critical node in the Belt and Road Initiative.
Then, China sinks a lot of investment into Xinjiang, takes strong police action, and the jihadi fervor decreases, wealth and population grow faster in Xinjiang than in most of China, and the Chinese re-educate jihadis. I guess it’s better (long-term) than just killing them.
And suddenly, when the US is trying to AUKUS a coalition to fight China, the Uighurs are genocide victims (but where’s the proof – refugee waves? Collapse of Xinjiang food and health and society, partisan’s fight-back, etc. All the typical events where there is genocide). Given zero evidence for legal proceedings, the US re-terms it “cultural genocide” – a BS term if ever there was one.
Heck, half the country views Biden as committing cultural woke genocide! To the Hague!
IMO, the reasons for Putin hatred is the result of a combination of factors: 1) If one assumes that the US media in a way acts as a Ministry of Propoganda, then the mantra is: favorable press goes to the “dictator we like”; unfavorable press goes to the dictator we don’t like. Putin doesn’t play ball with the US, crucify him. (Unipolar versus multipolar).
Note: I think I came across these terms in “Manufacturing Consent (Chomsky; 2) There is an almost hardwire historical dislike, that borders on obssevive paranoia with the British Establishment, who through their Empire days ,thought Russia was going to unseat them.
Note: The British spy agencies and foreign service were very close with the US departments of the same (the Dulles Brothers ). 3) The education and awareness level of the US public is beyond comprehension and their attention span is nil. World Cup; Ukraine goes to page 3. The current person to dislike is Stewart Rhodes, convicted seditionist (Putin who?)4) There seems to be something of religious fanaticism in the hatred. Note: I have friends who absolutely see no parallels with one great power country doing the same evils as another, especially if one is the US, i.e. it’s OK to bomb the living crap out of Iraq & Afghanistan, but OMG if Russia does that to the Ukraine. 5) Zelensky has effectively co-opted the media, as Trump did with Twitter, so all it takes is for Zelensky to release a statement (Russian missiles) and it is immediately published as gospel truth.
> Note: I have friends who absolutely see no parallels with one great power country doing the same
There is a term for it: “folly of moral equivalence”
Whatever “indispencible nation” is doing because of “Manifest destiny” can not be compared with “dispensibke nations”.
I guess Hitler told mostly the same to Germans, just in slightly different terms.
And Germans (most of) gladly and mindlessly swallowed it – until tanks entered Berlin.
In 2000-s conspirologists told USA was chosen to be the Fourth Reich, to personify evil so disgusting – that all other nations would be whitewashed and united by the fight.
It sounded bizzare then, but it does no more.
Imagine if EU retained some agency and actually joined Russia/China some years ago and brought their grievances with US hegemony? Today EU would be seen innocent unwilling victim of USA like it is known to be an innocent unwilling victim of Hitler
For the bean counters out there now “Zelensky said that more than $1 trillion is needed to restore Ukraine”
I like round sums, also BUT there is a ‘more’ before that $1 Trillion :]
When Kennedy announced the moon program, it was a “national project,” as they call it in the Russian Federation.
Recently, a documentary about Amazon and Bezos was shown on German television. Apart from a few interesting details, the finale was significant. Bezos was seen announcing his space program in that typical “Steve Jobs – Youtube” manner.
The “highlights” of “civilization” have degenerated into a hobby of some perversely rich people.
The West is fighting against a “whole people”. He has “forgotten” what it means …
And that makes fear, and hate is the immediate consequence …
“WHY THE DEEP, VISCERAL, CRAZY HATRED OF PUTIN?”
Framing conditions outcomes and ignorances, and hence better illuminations are often derived from proceeding from multi-hypotheses to test in interactions.
Such hypotheses to test in interactions include but are not limited to:
What are “The United States of America” and how are they facilitated ?
Why do those socialised in “The United States of America” tend to frame “perceived inquiries” by rhetorical questions?
Why do those socialised in “The United States of America” tend to frame “perceived inquiries” by symptoms rather than lateral causes by limiting frames by regular resort to rhetorical questions?
Why do “The United States of America” resort to visceral hatred of opponents ?
Why do “The United States of America” resort to focusing their visceral hatred of opponents on individuals instead of collectives ?
In what contexts do “The United States of America” resort to visceral hatred of their opponents?
In what forms do “The United States of America” resort to communicate/implement visceral hatred of their opponents ?
Given that visceral hatred is a type of emotionalism, how can the visceral hatred communicated/implemented by “The United States of America” be used to facilitate their complicity in their own transcendence?
Aren’t you so smart? You’re so smart no one can understand your high-falutin’ jargon and syntax because they/we are so ignorant. Do you feel superior most of the time Mr. Mirror? Does it feel good?
Dear Mr Johnson, your long list of resources in the Ukraine seems the real reason. The West cannot exist at its current level without those resources
I guess that Putin does not take all those criticism and hate personal. He takes it for Russia. He is Russia. May be that is the most important aspect between him and the West leaders who do not represent any more their country even though their civilization but some specific interests ONLY. I consider that each nation has a soul. Without this no nation can flourish no civilization can exist. We can just look around and see how that is obvious. The west leaders are driven by their ego alone, Putin by something bigger than him. It is why and only why Russia will prevail in this battle of Titans
Agreed!
We’ve blown our wad & I reckon we’re on track for the circle to complete Larry.
The West will come out as an obvious & very public oligarchic system, much like 17th century Great Britain and more recently, the former Soviet Union.
The faithful, privileged & well connected will enjoy their security, gated communities, resorts and ‘Party’ department stores for life’s luxuries.
Required trades will happen with ‘hard’ currency.
Russia will turn a cold shoulder on us while middle men pilot fish types facilitate trade.
The rest in the West will basically subsist while Eurasia gets on with business and progresses in ways we cannot even imagine, or ever know.
That’s my optimistic view 😉
it appears that both, the people of Russia and the government in Moscow, have turned their backs on the collective west and the prevailing ‘insanities’. There will be trade, but the level or extent will be limited by the attitudes of the people who are no longer sympathetic to listening to the lies etc. This has, if ever needed, underlined the attempted destruction of Russia that was undertaken by the west after the Fall. The Russians have clear memories of that time and they see today through those glasses. This is what I have been hearing from people in Russia for the past 20+ years. Commentators, for the most part, on the Net, don’t seem to understand, that the TRUST is Dead. Once a decision is made by Russians they will hold true to it – at the same time, being realistic enough to consider changing circumstances. The ‘BUT’ to that is…. that it may take several generations for there to be a thaw – especially the way that the west is going.
While I agree where will be some future trade between Russia and the West, the terms of that trade (which is critical) will be far less favorable to the West than they were.
In order for trade to occur, each party must offer something of value the other wants. Russia has resources and food which are essential for European countries. What will Europe be able to offer in return?
Russia will never trust those countries in the forseeable future and is continuing to develop import substitution industry; plus it can import plenty from big, non-Western trusted trading partners; plus Europe’s energy stupidity and ongoing de-industrialization means it will not be cost-competitive against other suppliers.
Because America after the Cold War allowed themselves to be corrupted by the sweet glow of victory and felt they had ascended to the apex of greatness and no one would ever be able to touch them because all the tenets of American exceptionalism were confirmed. The world and the future belonged to America and America would now reshape the world in its own image.
America didn’t know it at the time but this is the point where America lost its way and the raping of Russia in the 90s was the sowing of the wind which would reap the whirlwind of Vladimir Putin. No one has done more than Putin to thwart America’s nefarious plans but America didn’t realise what Putin was building until it was too late to ‘shut him down’.
The hatred towards Putin is beyond irrational and unhinged because he’s never done anything uniquely evil or anything any leader of any country wouldn’t do to defend its interests against malicious intent. Bottom line is the West has a visceral hatred of Russians and Russia which has always been there. How else do you explain 27 million deaths in WW2? That was an orgy of unrestrained mass murder and if the Nazis in Ukraine today could do it again they would.
why and whence this hate? I guess I found an answer. When I read the book “1938-The War of Many Fathers” 10 months ago, I was able to learn a lot of interesting historical events that do not correspond to official historiography in Germany since 1949. Among other things: England regards Russia as an enemy. and… England seeks to fight any country that is in a thriving position and may threaten Britain’s supremacy in the future. This practice of England is said to have been common since Elizabeth I.
The opposition to Putin is driven by the fact that
he is a strong and effective leader of a nation state, and culture,
which is on the wrong side of the culture war, in the eyes of America’s opinion leaders.
See, for example,
https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/putins-russia-guided-by-its-totalitarian-past-has-no-future/2017/10/04/0c6a43f8-9fb0-11e7-9c8d-cf053ff30921_story.html
Here WaPo presents the ideas of Masha Gessen.
Who is Masha Gessen?
“Gessen is nonbinary and trans and uses they/them pronouns.”
Yes, definitely, in WaPo’s eyes such people should be shaping opinions about Russia.
A similar situation was the opposition to Saddam Hussein,
motivated by the fact that he was, at the time, a strong and effective leader of a state which posed a threat to Israel.
Back to Russia.
For the culture war aspect of our opposition to Russia, listen to this video by Jordan Peterson (Civil War in the West):

Talking about making multiples mistakes and demonizing in a single sentence
“Generally, the cruellest are perhaps those who are of Russia but are not of the Russian tradition, such as the Chechens, the Buryats and so on” – Pope Francis
Chechens are mostly Muslims and Buryats are mostly Buddhists.
Not even an elephant in a china shop could have done so much damage.
Lenin was a Buryat. Dunno if he was a direct male-line descendant of Chingis though.
Jim, pretty sure we can assume he was not a practicing Buddhist.
kek
I think it’s because they can’t get us to hate Russians because that would be wrong to hate a cultural group. We are trained not to hate that way. It wouldn’t work. So they have to personalize it by trying to get us to hate the man. I heard it twice last night these guys were both saying stupid stuff about Putin. Both surprised me especially the educated guy who is in his last year of a masters degree in economics. He obviously doesn’t get economics beyond definitions. So sad that an educated guy cannot examine his own stuff. My thoughts Larry…
“We are trained not to hate that way”
Hasn’t stopped the active demonization of white people in the US.
Mr. Johnson- i agree with your assesment; especially on the morality issue. Obama especially hates putin which makes sense when he has called his wife michael on a few occasions. will leave it at that.

awhile back wrote up an article on differences between russia and the west which include diet. yu all may or not find it interesting and may or not agree with the below.
Differences between Russia and the USA
1) Diet
This will be controversial but the main difference that I see between Russia and the USA is that Russia is ruled by testosterone while the USA is ruled by estrogen. In the USA beer using hops is a main drink and soybeans are consumed in vast quantities
In Russia you may have big brother watching you; in the USA it is the big sister nanny-state looking over your shoulder.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/1016147/beer-consumption-per-capita-russia/
https://beerinfo.com/beer-consumption-by-state-per-capita/
https://www.indexmundi.com/agriculture/?commodity=sunflowerseed-oil&graph=domestic-consumption
https://www.indexmundi.com/agriculture/?commodity=soybean-oil&graph=domestic-consumption
In Russian vodka is the main drink and sunflower oil is consumed in vast quantities. The amount of beer and soybeans consumed in Russia are very minimal compared to the USA.
Beer with hops and soybeans are very high in phytoestrogen which mimic estrogen content while vodka and sunflower oil are allot lower. This is all shown in the links below.
https://breakingmuscle.com/phytoestrogens-and-your-testosterone-levels/

Marcela on May 8, 2014 at 3:04 pm
I also think most people reading your blog post will not look at the attached articles/lists and will not realize that there is an enormous difference between the level of phytoestrogens in soy beans (~104,000 mcg/100 gm) and cooked kidney beans which have a measly 41 mcg/100 gm. The phytoestrogenic content in sunflower seeds which you give one star to has a content of 216 mcg/100 gm., or roughly 2/1000th the phytoestrogen content of soy beans. Just because tests can measure phytoestrogens doesn’t mean their levels are at all significant for most people.
https://nutritionfacts.org/2019/06/06/the-effects-of-the-hops-phytoestrogen-in-beer-on-breast-cancer-risk/
this may be another reason why big business in the west like monsanto and cargil do not like russia allot

https://www.russiatimes.org/russia-completely-bans-gmos-food-production/
2) Morality
In Russian lgbt propaganda is banned and gay marriage is banned which is the opposite of the western countries. In Russia new churches are built every day while in the USA it is mosques and Christianity is rapidly losing its influence. I do not hate moslems but my christian heritage and beliefs will always come 1st ; just the way it is.

3) No Fluoride According To the Articles Below
https://newspunch.com/putin-bans-fluoride-russia/
https://fluoridationqueensland.com/vladimir-putin-has-banned-fluoride-from-russia/
4) Toughness
During the 1990`s Russian went through a severe period of depression during which the term early death occurred with great frequency. The people that survived this era are know the ones in control of the country. Unlike the people of the woke west whom have to this date never faced such an ordeal; the Russian people as a whole I believe are far more mentally and physically able to deal with the economic conditions which may be occurring to this world in the near future.
https://theconversation.com/the-wild-decade-how-the-1990s-laid-the-foundations-for-vladimir-putins-russia-141098
“The social impact was immense. Life expectancy fell, with up to five million excess adult deaths in Russia in 1991-2001, birth rates collapsed and both of these trends were compounded by widespread crime and trafficking. These negative effects were concentrated in periods of economic crisis in 1991-94 and 1998-99.“ `

“Why are Russians dying in numbers, and at ages, and of causes never seen in any other country that is not, by any standard definition, at war? “
https://bayourenaissanceman.blogspot.com/2014/09/the-dying-russians.html
5) Vaccines – as far as i know this is yet unknown as i have no proof either way
According to many articles I have read the corona sputnik vaccine Russia is using is not mrna based; but is more like the traditional flu shot. This is something that will come out either positive or negative in the future.

“ Obama especially hates putin which makes sense when he has called his wife michael on a few occasions …”
You can post a link to a video or any other primary source to support your statement. That certainly would disappoint those -both men and women- who have experienced President Putin as a most polite gentleman.
On the “differences between Russia and the USA” the (sad) reality shows that Russia still has a much shorter male life expectancy than the USA, Japan or Western Europe (!) …
On “morality” issues, gay marriage is not “banned” in Russia. It is simply not legal, as it is (illegal) in Japan and as it was (illegal) in most Western countries not so long ago. Remember how former US President B. Obama changed his stance on gay marriage over the years, as some other Western leaders and their citizens also did? Here is the full chronology of Mr. Obama’s personal journey:
https://time.com/3816952/obama-gay-lesbian-transgender-lgbt-rights/
Unlike Mr. Obama, Mr. Putin appears to be consistent with his conservative stance and his own plan of encouraging traditional family structures, in face of the shrinking Russian population. Perhaps that is the main reason why LGBTQ++ is not a priority for the Russian ruling elite? And that consistency is something that Western ruling elites themselves neither have nor appreciate in others.
Your point about Islam leads to confusion, since mosques are also being built in Russia:

Best
P.S. As regards Stephen King’s statements in twitter my personal option is that he seems to have forgotten that once upon a time innocent Carrie went on a killing rampage to take revenge on her bullying school mates and teachers…
Sorry for my mistake. I obviously meant “opinion” and not “option”. Furthermore, I personally find SK’s words about Bandera outrageous.
You hit the nail on the head. The only thing that can save Europe is a new Marshall plan. It isn’t coming from the USA. Leaving China out of the equation the only country with the resources to do so is Russia.
It’s not happening before collapse triggers regime change in the Soviet Union 2.0 though. Sorry i mean western Europe.
I suspect that the US is laying the ground for a nuclear attack on Russia, by whatever means.
Well then the US is laying the ground for suicide.
Even the Elites under-ground cities won’t save them.
Hi Larry – great piece exposing the effects of the relentless and seamless western propaganda machine.
However, caution is warranted in comparison to the Uighurs and Xi. I think that too is mostly Western propaganda layered over Western instigated Islamist extremism and a color revolution agenda. No Muslim country to date has found fault with China on its treatment of the Uighurs.
As has been said Putin is a good man, decent, patriotic, faithful to what is right as best he understands it. We all have an adversary who would kill ALL of us (humans), down to the last one, no question asked. He knows us all very well and hes been in the decieving, destruction game for a long time and hes very good at it. God said ‘we will prove them herewith’ and each of us in our time get come to earth to prove ourselves and show where our heart of heart truly lies, will it be in integrity, love, mercy, kindness, generosity, humility, long suffering, patience etc – all of course are the attributes of Godliness OR will we give in to temptation and find ourselves on that slippery slope of degradation and its attendant sins – prideful, haughty, greedy, lying, cheating, stealing, murdering, raping, false accusing and on and on etc.
All of us must choose, Gods mercy is offered to all those who recognise their error and turn away from sin and towards Him. Only he can judge only he knows each of our level of accountability, given our lifes experiences.
As for the USA as a nation it must pay the price for its collective sins, prophecy states as a land it will be swept clean save for the few who are truly good and decent individuals. In truth I can say may God bless America.
The war has always been for the souls of men, live well my friends. When or wherever it is we are called home may it be with the knowledge we tried our best to be true to the right & with a conscience void of offense toward God or our fellow man, not an easy task but certainly worth the effort.
I read you daily Larry and appreciate your seemingly honest efforts at providing some form of truthful and objective analysis.
Cheers
Simple answer: Read George Orwell’s 1984.
“WHY THE DEEP, VISCERAL, CRAZY HATRED OF PUTIN?”
The same reasons why they hated Caesar and murdered him: too big a Personality that at the same time loved his people and threatened the elite’s vested interests.
That’s a combination you can’t beat, so you have to resort to Large Lies and Vile Propaganda huger than Goebbels’s.
makes me think of two truisms.Money talks and bullshit walks,Actions speak louder than words.
Putin is the worst nightmare for western elites. They hate him not just because they can’t control or destroy him, but because they know that Putin knows that he can’t be controlled by them.
Putin isn’t just unafraid of these grandiose narcissists. It’s worse than that. Putin doesn’t give a damn about them.
Remember, these elites are convinced that they are the most advanced human beings to have ever existed – intellectual and moral superiors, on an historical scale. They’ve been told from a very early stage in life that they’re extremely significant people.
Then there’s the humiliation of being outplayed by Putin, on every important level. This should be no surprise to anyone objective – after all, Putin has been around for decades, has been Russia’s leader since 2002 and has rebuilt the entire country. But it is simply too much to bear for these elites.
Putin is a direct threat to the glass of adoring mirrors they’ve built around themselves. They’re suffering a very public humiliation at his hands. They cannot accept the truth or reality of the situation, yet they know it’s true. And so, they hate him.
Sorry, since 2000.
Hatred of Putin is in a word pathetic. It makes us, the West look pathetic to outsiders, and it shows our pathetic insecurity.
Perhaps it’s not so much hatred of Putin, nor even of the Russian nation, but rather the American Empire’s continuing delusion that they can accomplish regime change in Russia if only Putin would go away or be removed. The propaganda constantly focuses on Putin instead of on the Russian nation, because hostilities to nationalities are no longer considered enlightened. The last time it was ever socially acceptable for Americans openly to hate any entire nationality per se, was against The Japanese during WW II (even the Germans were not hated for being German). The persisting American Delusion is that “inside every Russian there’s a Pro-Trans, Anti-White Soy Boy trying to get out”, and only Putin is standing in the way.
Certain Americans hate Putin, in particular, a certain tribe of really not so American “citizens” who usually possess another non-US passport and exhibit unbending loyalty towards a tiny uber-racist ethno state sandwiched in between Jordan, Syria, Egypt and Lebanon. The elites of these said individuals, heavily involved in globalist organized crime entities that go under the name mostly of private equity firms, are seeing their pet project of Ukraine go down the sh*tter!!!! All thanks to that dastardly Russian known as bad Vlad! To think, 2 of these above mentioned organized crime groups, known publicly as Black Rock and Vanguard, had just signed deals with the current Ukranian regime that secured them control of over 50% of Ukraine’s arable land. Yes, all that wonderful “chernozem” that you aptly mentioned.
The truly dispiriting message in all of this is, until the US public openly and vehemently disavows these criminal groups parading as financial institutions, the US will continue its downward spiral into oblivion enveloped in whirlwind of growing hatred by the world’s general population.
Larry, “If we are going to use the standard of “bad behavior” as the measure of whether a world leader is good or evil, ..” you don’t need to leave the USA to find appropriate examples.
Not to be cryptic, but I’ll leave some breadcrumbs which require a few searches.
1) 2003: Yukos stock now belongs to whom? What could it be worth if Putin was gone?
2) Genie Energy SAB money man with peteoleum interests in the Golan Heights. Putin backing Syria unhelpful.
3) What recent widow, friend of Hillary, flounced off Twitter years ago saying it was about Russia?
First time is happenstance, second is coincidence, but the third is enemy action.
Larry you have hit that nail once again right on its head:
Your phrase:
“pursued an independent path”
This is what the US cannot stand. An “independent path” is code for “the country of origin gets the profits from the sale of its resources- not US corporations”.
The elites of the US want the resources, but even more they want the profits.
Putin gets in the way of this. All the other stuff is irrelevant.
The elites of the US see the resources in other countries as US resources they just happen to be in the wrong place.
I beg to disagree. All “the other stuff” is not irrelevant.
The “other stuff” being the drive towards a totalitarian system of World Government.
Somehow that dove-tails nicely into the economic hit-man aspect.
Altough I think there’s much in Russia that needs to be done to be a well developed country, Mr Putin put it on its way to be a great nation.
This is from an american traveler that has been in Moscow (I strongly recomend it):
https://youtu.be/E34zM_K_hlQ
On that video Moscow starts resembling what european cities USED TO BE.
Lets remember that are some russians that hate Putin (they share the same DNA together with many poles and baltic states willing to be conquered by the US.) that even knowing all Western atrocities still justify/cover whatever crime the US does.
I don’t know how any kind of a deal could get made. I doubt Russian will ever trust the West again. I imagine there will be a new cold war with the West facing off against Russia on a line that used to be the Ukraine border.
“I have never seen anything like this”
Yes you have. It is the same kind of irrationally maniacal hatred we have seen for Donald Trump (and to a lesser extent for Nigel Farage in the UK).
For the same underlying reasons: these are men who defy those who believe they and their beliefs are in charge, and entitled to be so.
Worse, they do so successfully, which drives those people insane with anger, hatred and fear.
That’s not to say any of these men cannot be criticised or legitimately disagreed with. Being hated by demons does not make one an angel. But it does explain the irrational extent of the hostility to these men, and the degree to which it leads to counter-productive policy choices.
That hatred is the product of what makes you say that the Chinese leader is more cowardly than Putin. It’s racism
Hello from Tehran. The reason for this strange manifestation of hatred towards the President of the Russian Federation, by the US and its allies is the fact that the US – Western views about international politics has metamorphosed into some kind of television soap opera entertainment series from the standard approach in which players must have certain levels of professionalism and knowledge holding real degrees, unlike, for example, the former UK boss, Liz Truss, or the current US chief Joe Biden and VP kamala Harris who hardly know what they are doing. Also coming a long way out of being strictly home bound – functioning as house wives, today many western female politicians play important roles in the international political arena, thus there’s a certain feminine variety of hatred and grudge toward strong male figures such as V. Putin, that defies logic.
I have to disagree with you Larry, your depiction of China is laughable. How can you compare China to a war hungry nation, when they have basically stayed the same size for centuries? They built a world famous wall, to keep foreigners out, while the USA build ships to go around the world attacking nations just for the Hell off it.
Since 1776, how many wars has the USA started, joined in with or funded? How many nations did China attack since US independence?
Who has the worlds largest prison population?
Who has the worlds highest murder rate in a non war setting?
Was it not your job to bring terrorism to Afghanistan and many other places, because your bosses want war and destruction around the globe?
If I remember correctly, the US funded Islamic fundamentalists to attack Afghanistan, because some crazy Yank wanted to cause the Soviet Union losses comparable to US losses in Vietnam, the same criteria the US uses today in Ukraine?
The USA have caused the deaths of 8 million Korean and Vietnamese people, and instead of prosecuting those responsible in the USA, they double down and then plan wars directed at other nations, just in the hope that thousands, or millions of people will die?
Apart from Britain, what other nations have ever shipped troops to attack the USA?
The USA needs to concentrate on its own problems, not spend everyday imagining new ways to throw accusations against nations far, far away.
Since I was born in 1964, there has been only one nation forever at war, not China, not the SU, but the USA.
Someone says : you should hate this guy because I’m not fine with what he does , the rest are parroting the idea with their own biases. Did they really hate the guy in the end ?
OK ; he might not be the first guy I would call in for a vacation trip, but i don’t hate the guy either.
Putin can speak for hours with journalists, industry leaders, film makers or mothers. He is intellectually, culturally, technically and economically superior to his Western counterparts. And 80% of the truly multicultural Russian people support him.
Putin is everything they wish to be.
And that’s why Cain slaughtered Abel.
Exactly.
It’s always about the money. Putin has worked hard to diminish the oligarchs ownership of Russia. The West stole Russia blind after the fall of the Soviet Union. Yeltsin, working at the behest of the CIA transferred Russia’s wealth out of the Soviet Union. The US propaganda machine played the American people into hating Putin and Russia. Used the ignorance of the masses, capitalizing on the belief that Russia and the Soviet Union were one and the same. Then Putin did the impossible – he brought Russia back. He created business relationships with Europe. Putin has worked on new trade routes through the arctic and as alternatives to the Suez. These things have been in the works for decades now. Those in the US and West that control things had to wheel out their useful idiots (Nuland and and crew) to demonize them. Oddly enough whether it was the plan or not, Putin and Russia accomplished one really good thing for them in the beginning. He’s worked hard to get all of the oligarchs out of Russia. In the first wave of sanctions and the big drop in value of the ruble, lots of the remaining ones left Russia.
Russia has been incredibly lucky that it has had the long-term consistency of leadership by a capable man, which Putin has provided.
Imagine its position now if it had experienced a succession of Yeltins or just a succession of political equivalents to Clinton, Bush, Obama and Biden.
No something. thought to myself as I was driving to work this morning.
England’s “doctrine” no other country/
Allowing the people to become stronger and more superior is an Anglo-Saxon dogma that is around 500 years old. It is probably based on the Anglo-Saxon assumption that economic and political strength on a global scale is only possible with the help of the military and sea power, i.e. with the 50 shadows of violence. Thus, the Anglo-Saxon Empire largely follows the path of the Roman Empire. First a free republic, triumvirate and then empire (concentration of power in one person/centralization of power). And besides, the great trading center of Carthage was twice destroyed. Carthage, if I remember correctly, belonged to the Semitic sphere of power, which conquered the Mediterranean region mainly through trade. I can imagine that this is also one of Putin’s guiding principles.
Why this hate?
Well,,,it is the same hate, the same hate against the unvaccinated, the same hate against the deniers of the climatic change, the same hate against thr pro lifers and, soon, the same hate against the true christians. When this hate is concentraded on one person his dimension acquires new contours but it his the same hate and the author is the same. That’s a spiritual war and the great hater of men is known for centuries

A glaringly obvious fact that he never wants to challenge.
in the meantime Macron’s call to Putin has been brushed off by the Kremlin. Nevertheless France have had its revenge in granting Ukraine with an additionnal 150 M€ package. Take this Putin !

Press conference May 25 1999, Jamie Shea with the business style kept and refined until nowadays, with his babbling boss Solana deftly substituted by the imbecile Borrell, Solana justifying the civilian passenger train bombed while crossing a bridge with a sentence worth quoting in history books, “the pilot threw the bomb with the best of intentions, as every pilot from a democratic country does”. The US of amnesia.
It’s the holiday season and my mind is on “The Wizard of Oz.” The movie is about what happens when evil is taken for good, and good is mistaken for evil. A classic. As Rick Polito, writing for the Marin Independent described the movie: “Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first person she meets and then teams up with three strangers to kill again.”
“Lions, tigers, bears, and psychopaths. Oh, my!”
Let’s pretend the United States is Dorothy Gale and that people die wherever she goes.
At present, Europe is playing the part of the Munchkins. They know they have a killer on their hands, but they better not act like they know it. Better to hold a parade and celebrate Dorothy’s arrival. Hand out awards and Nobel Peace Prizes. Better to just play along, and hope those in charge (the Deep State?) will step in just the right moment. The Deep State in this case being the Wizard of Oz, Glenda, the Good Witch of the North, and the Wicked Witch of the West. They can handle it.
Yes, the Wicked Witch of the West. She is part of the power structure (or what’s left of it since Dorothy arrived), in the Land of Oz.
Until a solution to their Dorothy problem can be found, everybody just kind of plays along. Because, for the Land of Oz, Dorothy Gale presented a problem. They had a psychopath on their hands.
“Oh, my!”
For the viewing audience today, the Wicked Witch of the West is Russia, and her flying monkeys are the Russian people. The guards are just Russian allies. At least that is what we are meant to see. Russia dies in the movie. Dorothy “liquidated” her. And the flying monkeys are eternally grateful. Those poor oppressed flying monkeys. A few of them were badly injured in the movie, when their cables snapped.
“But I didn’t mean to kill her,” Dorothy tearfully says over and over again, in that sobbing childlike tone of voice. “Really I didn’t.”
Yeah. Well. That’s what she said after a house mysteriously was made to fall on the Wicked Witch of the East, too.
There is an especially touching scene towards the end of the movie where the Wizard is handing out brains to the Scarecrow, Courage to the Cowardly Lion, and a heart to the Tin Man. However, when it came to dealing with Dorothy, it took Glenda, the Good Witch of the North, to finally step in.
Make no mistake about it. Everybody in the Land of Oz knew they had a Dorothy problem on their hands. The best thing was to send Dorothy back to Kansas where she belonged, to the land of “milk and honey,” the land of killers, endless war, and endless warmongering.
Oh, my.
Thank you Larry for today’s insight.
The Western Elite ubiquitously, unaminously want their constituencies to focus on a single bad guy as Putin possesses and exudes what the Western Elite hate: a masculine, confident man attracted to women and respectful to God as the final accountant for all life.
Further, you carefully document your argument, as you usually do, instead of throwing out platitudes of opinionated “feelings” without factual support, as the Western Elite do (on a good day, for on most days the Western Elite simply lie).
The Western Elite are like the members of a school yard clique who agree to hate specific individuals….just because.
Putin, and Russia itself, gives the Western Elite an object bogeyman for them to get their constituencies emotionally lined up to stone. All, while the West purchases its energy and materials from Russia.
While China is a real and imminent threat, and the Islamist leadership have declared openly their goal to destroy the West (suffering abuse and worse upon women and children), the Western Elite have, since the end of WW2, identified Russia as the home for evil, even though it was Russia who shed the most blood in WW2 to end the threat from Hitler’s Nazi wave.
The supporting voters of Western Elite become emotionally enraged when someone, such as yourself, suggest that Russia and Putin are not an existential threat to the West.
I wonder what this is going to look like when we reach the other side of our struggle to overcome the burdens we suffer which are created by our own Western Elite: Inflation, hatred, political division, destruction of our own supply chain, destruction of our jobs at home, destruction of family values, manipulation, castration and abuse of our own children…
Your work is an important illumination of facts in a darkness of corruption….
Thank you!
Some splendid and insightful comments today!
I totally agree with most of them and am now also much more in the ‘Andrew Anglin at Unz.com’ camp, who explains the unmentionable connection and its deliberate and cunning endorsement of globohomo et.al. very well too.
From my European perspective and experience, I would also say that there is a deep-seated mythical fear of Russia/Russians/its leaders, thanks to the direct experiences of past wars with them throughout most families on the continent, enhanced by the lack of access to, brutalities and imperialism of them/it during the communist era. The latter is now also the main differentiator in that regard and in comparison to Western former opponents.
Such is the power of personal anecdotes, enhanced of course by propaganda on all levels, first and foremost during ones formal education.
My father hates him/Russians because they shot at him when he was a child, fleeing Poland, where his father had a senior administrative job.
He never made and is totally unable to make the connection that his father was likely not welcome in Poland, and that he was likely engaging in or helping to facilitate crimes there: ‘he was liked, they brought us geese’, yeah, sure…
He is also in total denial of German crimes in Russia during WW2 and of the huge Russian death tolls.
All he still sees is them shooting at him on that bridge and then them raping German women later on- ‘German soldiers never did that’ of course…!
So, it was and still is very easy to paint Russia/Russians/Putin or any of their leaders as the bogeyman to most average Europeans.
I agree that for Americans and Brits this is a different, solely power- and money-driven propaganda story- they just smartly exploit these Europeans fears to the fullest for their own sinister goals, as we can witness again now.
In some directly neighbouring formerly communist countries, fears of Russia are more justified and run deeper, as their negative experiences with it are even more direct and recent.
But instead of taking Putin’s olive branch and doing a Mandela, or an Adenauer/DeGaulle, most of them did the opposite in the late 90s and early 2000s, fleeing into the US/UK’s arms and ignoring these twos real motives for their engagement there, focussing mainly on revenge instead.
In the case of Poland, this hate is now so engrained that it has become unsolvable. In the case of the Baltics and Ukraine, the unnecessary, stupid, counterproductive and just vengeful discrimination of Russian minorities has now become the real powder keg, also for the future in case of the Baltics, and the only justified concern with regard to future Russian military ‘aggression’. But like the Ukrainians, if the Baltic people wanted to live in peace and independently from Russia, all they had to and have to do is to refrain from discriminating their Russian minorities, why couldn’t and can’t they see that?!
So, I think Putin was serious when in the early 2000s, though from a position of weakness, he offered peaceful cooperation and integration with the West (after all he and his circle are more into partying in Sardinia and into French/Italian luxuries than into Asian or so traditions and places), most Europeans were also willing to give it a shot on the back of a desire to reconcile the past like they did successfully with each other, enhanced by gratitude to the peaceful dismantling of the iron curtain then, but the US/UK, the Atlanticists and some hardcore Russia hating leaders, especially in Poland and the Baltics, c/would have none of it: they already had other plans.
Then, Putin realised that he was left hung out to dry by them and started to pull the plug and move into another direction after Munich 2007.
And even that he did most carefully, at least up until 24.2.22, but to no avail.
And for all of that, and for exposing their own hypocrisy, criminal aggression and lack of will for cooperation and peace hereby, they just hate him. As they must, if they want to survive politically and have a second chance at fleecing the country and its people.
Why hated Putin simple the other politicians inherited from fluorizing countries and left a country in ruins and in debt Putin inherits a ruined country leaves a flowering country without debt capable of standing in the West the army which had been annihilated seems poorly adapted to a high intensity war like all the modern armies, however, our Gamelin generals of TV channels see the war 14/18 39/45 and as in all these wars they did not understand Putin needs to enlarge His territory large almost like half of the chatting world Putin wants to return the currency to the US for the stupid trap of 89 it is not in a hurry it will ruin them 19 then 50 billion never enough go go the coconut ruined this empty country of weapons and ammunition Putin is under the desk trembling for fear no it is broken in two laughs bravo comrade
I agree that the msm just uses a caricature of Putin that makes no sense. Nobody even watches his speeches or reads the transcripts, which reveal a deeply principled man. I have long suspected that (besides the obvious economic reasons) he’s hated for being such a competent man in ways that few if any westerners can match. His macho side is famous, yet look at his piano playing here: (from 2017 while waiting to meet Xi at his house):
https://www.ruptly.tv/en/videos/20170514-016-China-Putin-plays-the-piano-at-Xi-Jinpings-residence-in-Beijing
I’ve wondered at times, is there anything this man cannot do? Jealousy certainly plays a role, I think.
I don’t think Xi Jinping is such a dastardly character – I think the Uighur concentration camps don’t even exist – except in western propaganda. Very succesful propaganda. Just as the Tiananmen Square massacre didn’t happen. Something that even Western journalists who were there at the time reported – but whose testimony has been successfully memory-holed.
As for Vladimir Putin, I think we blame him for successfully rebulding Russia by taking control back from the oligarchs and the West. And for remaining in power fro 20 years despite our attempts at regime change in Russia.
I remember the first time Vladimir Putin campaigned for reelection. His Western-approved opponent: Mikhail Khodorkovsky. Here in Germany, TV bombarded us non-stop in support of the oligarch Khodorkovsky, telling us that he was the only hope for a bright future for Russia. I hadn’t seen anything like that before on German TV – and I didn’t see it again until German TV started campaigning for Hillary Clinton, and against Donald Trump.
I remember how Angela Merkel came out strongly in support of a second term as President of Russia for Dmitry Medvedev. And the howling in the Western press that Vladimir Putin’s bid for a 3rd term was not constitutional, and most certainly not democratic. If Russia’s constitutional court had no objections, how was that our business?
And then there were the constant attempts to portray / build up Navalny as Russia’s next leader.
I think Western governments realized that their best bet of regaining control of Russia would be when Vladimir Putin left office. Even if his successor was not of their choosing, there would be a new government, and new opportunities to be exploited. As evidenced by the events in Georgia in 2008.
In order to take full advantage of a change in government, it would of course be best if Western leaders were firmly established in office. Then the Russian Federation decided to extend the term of pesident to 7 years in office. And changed the constitution to allow only 2 terms as president – instead of 2 consecutive terms – while at the same time resetting the counter for the incumbent to 0. The first came way too late for the West, and the second made it worse.
That complicated the planning for the time after Vladimir Putin. And made most of the sitting leadership in the West lame ducks as far as Western plans for Russia are concerned.
The West is running out of time, it cannot wait for Russian elections to come around – especially when Vlaimir Putin might run again for office.
Hence the bile they spew at Vladimir Putin all the time.
In August 1998, the Russian treasury defaulted on its bonds that were ultra-levered on by the hedge fund Long Term Capital Management. LTCM had levered many times over on the full value of those bonds, as they were assured by the Gore-Chernomyrdin Commission that the Russian economy was sound enough to repay in full. This implicit guarantee was used to create money used to buy up the Russian resource assets that were in turn being brought up for auction. It was a classic shell game of scam used by banisters forever, but the Russians figured it all out. This occurred while Vladimir Putin was the head of the FSB. Some of that was used in the buyout of Yukos by Khordokovsky. When he became President he sought to reclaim that ill-gotten petro-asset by charging Khordokovsky with money laundering and tax evasion.
LTCM required the first ‘too big to fail’ bailout of our present financial era, and the 2 primary dealers who refused to participate in the Federal Reserve orchestrated bailout were Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers. There intransigence is the reason they were sacrificed 10 years later *nearly to the day*. In fact, the BS dot-com bubble was created to bailout the banks who were bankrupted by the LTCM collapse which began with the Russian default. All the underwriting of the garbage dotcom scam stocks was solely for the gain to bailout those failed primary dealers. The repeal of Glass-Steagal was solely the result of this banking collapse, to keep the banksters going for another day to steal from the masses.
Some grist for the ole mill for those who think they understand things. I believe that it the beginning of the battle with the righteous VVP. Putin is still righteous, and his enemies and the banksters are still disgusting criminals.
Corrections to above post – autocorrect spelling changed ‘banksters’ to ‘banisters’ in the first paragraph. I hate autocorrect.
And “There intransigence” should be “Their intransigence”.
Very interesting; jaw-dropping, in fact. I’m really only conversant in the 2008 crisis, but this fits well with what I’ve learned from that. Glass-Steagal, my word. Thank you.
History will view V. V. Putin in the same light as George Washington and Peter the Great.
The reason can be surmised in one sentence.
He’s more competent and intelligent than they are and they know it.
Larry, I think you answered your own question, with your list of Ukrainian assets. Western leaders are well aware that Ukraine, not just the Donbass, where most of the goodies are anyway, IS RUSSIA. It’s an historical aberration that it has been an independent nation since the downfall of the Soviet Union- a downfall, btw, that was a coup ‘inspired’ by the west. Gorby was at best a useful idiot, at worst a traitor (the traitor conclusion was strengthened by every action, every utterance, and every lack of comment on the west’s on-going anti-Russian crusade until his death this summer). Eltsin was without any doubt a traitor.
The balkanization of the former Soviet space is essential to the prosperity, even the ‘stability’ of the US globalist empire. Putin is destroying that dream. Of course they hate him, and they use all the tools at their disposal to make us hate him, too.
I think intensity of hatred is related to whether your behavior “fits” the stereotypes created about you. The United States is extremely racist when it comes to the rest of the world, but they don’t see it that way. The Chinese myth is that all Chinese are very smart, but also very sneaky (think “inscruitable”) and obsessed with dominating the world. It’s easier to filter actual Chinese actions and results through that lens. (And for that reason I’d beware of assuming anything about treatment of the Uyghurs. There is no way of knowing, but I would suggest that the Chinese laws in place for decades protecting the Uyghurs in terms of child allowances, etc. tends to point in a different direction.)
In any case, Russians do not fit the “Slavic bear” stereotype at all. We (I am American) simply can’t believe that the Russians are anything but some version of “Boris Badinov”. Scary when they get mad, but only winning wars by throwing waves of men into battle and burning down their own villages. Russians will put up with anything if you don’t make them mad. Russians fight fericiously, but stupidly, Russians drink themselves to an early grave with vodka, Russians are too stupid to take care of their own resources and people. Russians blindly follow their leader. That myth has been pounded into us so relentlessly and for so many years in the West that we can’t even acknowledge simple facts. To do so feels like complete destruction.
Putin truly is dangerous. If he goes, the vodka loving bears will go back to their dens under a new (American-approved) leader. The fact that Russia and Russians might actually have a separate political and cultural identity that deserves respect is inconceivable. They only need a different leader to make it all work. To think otherwise explodes the myth, and that puts our own myths about ourselves into serious jeopardy. It is an existential threat of a different sort. “The man must go. Western civilization depends on it”. It sure does, Mr. Soros.
“To do so feels like complete destruction.”
Whilst not doing so facilitates self-transcendence.
Or in the vernacular beloved of Fritz the Cat
“Well f@ck a duck”
Mike Whitney: https://www.unz.com/mwhitney/why-do-americans-hate-putin/
Everything Americans know about Putin they read in the media. And that’s the problem, because media despises Putin. And they despise him for the same reason they despise Trump, because the media’s wealthy owners see him as a threat to their political agenda. That’s the whole deal in a nutshell. Putin is not hated because he is a “KGB thug” or a “new Hitler”; that’s just public relations gibberish. He’s hated because he is an obstacle to the globalists achieving their geopolitical objectives. That’s the motive that drives this smear campaign. Putin has blocked them in Chechnya, South Ossetia, Syria and now Ukraine. He has derailed their grand plan to “pivot to Asia” and to encircle China with US military bases. He has been a thorn in their side for the better part of two decades and he has thrown a wrench in their loony plan to crush emerging centers of power and rule the world for the next century. That’s why they hate him, and that’s why they use their media to make you hate him, too.
The key to this mystery is twofold;
One, basically Putin stands in the way of the “Grand Plan”, The Great Reset, whatever you care to call it. The US used to be the biggest threat to the Global New World Order, but after dumping Trump, they feel the US has been neutralized, now Russia pops up, independent in virtually every way and they are not going along with the Mother WEFers and their one world technocratic slave state. Putin is a globalist but in a very different manner that the western globalists who want pure and total power over the globe, whereas Putin has shown that he values cooperation among equals and mutual respect.
Now that long list of things about Ukraine. Ask yourself, a country that has that much going for it should be wealthy and its people should be enjoying a very high standard of living, but they are not, in fact it is one of the poorest if not THE poorest in the region.
All that wealth is being strip mined from Ukraine the same was it was being done to Russia during the Yeltsin years, the oligarchs and foreigners talking the lions share with of course 10% for The Big Guy, and the most donations to the Clinton “Foundation” of any country (except maybe Saudi Arabia).
Putin is on a mission to liberate Ukraine. I firmly believe that is the way it will looked at in the future. There are certain people who absolutely DO NOT want Ukraine in any way liberated. It is money laundering central, a hub for child sex trafficking, organ harvesting, gun running, drugs no doubt, the Pentagon runs bioweapons labs there they cannot get away running anywhere else.
Putin threatens the whole rotten operation, plus he has the documents and probably some of the research hers from the biolabs on ice ready to testify.
The Powers That Be will literally do anything to prevent the liberation of Ukraine, anything.
Why the hatred? Because unlike Yeltsin, Putin is not compliant. Putin’s priority is to have a strong and independent Russia. We want puppies. We want vassal states.
Have you heard anyone in the U.S. demand regime change in Haiti? No, of course not, Hait can rot as long as they do not vote against us in the U.N. it’s okay.
I’m not saying that every country that opposes the U.S. is good, only that by opposing us (or simply having independent foreign policy), guarantees our hatred against them.
The West hates Putin because they were taught to hate Putin. How else can you justify a war? This is how Democracies go to war: make the rubes hate. It is quite effective and once established in the culture, it is self sustaining.

What does this mean? A possible change of course and internal fights
Ms. von der Leyen is not wearing her usual blue&yellow attire…
I have stated before and will go on record that there are 2 countries in the world that have every natural resource under the sun. Same climate. Same various degrees of landscapes and are huge. One of course is Russia. The other is Canada. When those Eastern Europeans arrived in Canada early 1900’s to 1950’s they must have thought they never left. It is the same. Canada sold grain early 1970s to the Soviets via Churchill port in Manitoba. Also we share the Arctic coastline. It does not take a genius to see that Canada cannot get a oil pipeline to market unless it goes through the United States of Hysteria. Cannot get a natural gas pipeline built to the west coast without eco terrorists pretending to be natives, the useful tool of the climate cult. Remember Obama? Took 8 years to cancel Keystone. Then it was drill baby drill. Oh yes the same Eco Obama signs a bill to export American oil for the first time in 40 years in 2015. So thus Canada has competition for its only product that props up its dollar. Under PMO Harper the CAD was worth more than the USD! It is all in the charts. Had to get rid of that guy and replace him with an metrosexual Club of Rome diddled toddler. Oops. Canadians are the biggest chumps on the planet. Americans are not far behind. So yes we all must hate Putin because he puts his country first and won’t let the Europeans have a free ride anymore. But more than that it has got to be the fact that Russia won’t succumb to all this transgender bullshit. So stay focused on your Elon Musk and democracy. Watch the clowns that you think govern you. I plan on sitting back smoke a joint. Oh ya its legal here so another war the USA lost in my lifetime. On a side note I still remember Phil Donohue having a satellite audience from the USSR and the USA in the 1980’s come together. That made me think as average people we have the same goals and dreams. Thanks for the blog Larry. Nice to read from other people from around the globe in these crazy times.
I’ve had to re-examine everything about everything these last 2 years… going to be REALLY interesting to see where we land… I’ve picked my hill.
I’m about your age, Larry, and I’m as baffled as you are. I’m a European by birth, now an American, and I served during the cold war and lived through the years of the wall collapsing and the Soviet Union, my old mortal enemy, no longer existing.
My reaction to those events was, to put it bluntly, exhilaration. The shadow we’d been living under for my entire life was gone and, more importantly, this was a golden opportunity for all of us, former enemies and us alike, to form a strong bond together, to help drag our eastern friends out of the horror of communism and create an alliance that would last forever and be invincible.
We both know what followed. The idiot fossils ruling the west just couldn’t live with the notion of Russia suddenly being a potential ally (not to mention that the U.S. was already the петух (you know the expression, I’m impressed 🙂 ) of China, all of their politicians firmly bought and paid for by Beijing, so heaven forbid that we should realign!
And so the rape of Russia of the 1990s followed.
The rulers in Washington DC needed a permanent enemy, and the MIC who owns them needed one even more, and since their pimps in Beijing wouldn’t allow it, Russia would have to do.
So here we are. I know for a fact that it wasn’t Russia who worked towards it, my friends and contacts in Russian back then were even more in love with the west back then than people born here were, but the 90s soured that, understandably.
Russia wanted to do business with everybody, particularly the west, but they were treated like unruly children trying to get a seat at the adults’ table and, besides, making friends with them might upset the political whores in DC’s masters in China.
So for more than thirty years, our senile Cold War relics maintained the fantasy that Russia who, to my knowledge, had never once challenged any vital interest to our nation (but I could be wrong, you obviously know more about that than I do), was or mortal enemy number one.
All to keep the bribes rolling.
If Russia were to strike, and I’m certain they won’t because they’re not idiots like the clowns in DC, I sincerely hope that they go for DC first, because that’s where the mortal enemy lives.
When Lavrov makes speeches the pathetic “leaders” of the West all club together to walk out. This is the level of childish idiocy prevalent in the West today.
Contrast that with the Cuban Missile Crisis when leaders were in daily talks trying to solve the problem.
What we are seeing with Russia is Cancel Culture carried over from social media. It is infantile and dangerous.
Remember when every leader Washington didn’t like was a Hitler — at least since Noriega? Imagine the future when every leader Washington doesn’t like is a Putin. Like Erdogan is a Putin, Modi is a Putin, Xi is a Putin.
Hitler is tired, but Putin is wired.
It’s just high school, Larry.
The narrative of the Uygurs being persecuted by the Chinese government has been debunked and proven to be a fruit of western propaganda. So no, neither president Putin nor president Xi deserve to be hated and despised by us.
Have you ever travelled around Xinjiang, or lived in China? I have and I don’t think you should dismiss the persecution of the Uighur’s just because it is used to bash China.
I love China, but I know it is also an extremely heavy handed police state where free speech is met with appalling oppression.
It is perfectly possible to loathe the neocons, without feeling obliged to airbrush the CCP’s many faults. A bad habit these days.
Thank you Larry for this insightful piece. I think US hostility to Russian President Putin and more broadly, the entire country of Russia, should be considered within the context of a declining US empire. As you are well aware, the US emerged from WWII as the world’s leading economic and military power. Since that time, US global supremacy has rested on unrivaled military and economic power, control of world’s energy reserves (primarily in the Middle East), and maintaining the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. This relationship began to transform in the mid-1970s, as US corporate profits began to stagnate/decline, the proximate cause being the 1973-1975 recession, a consequence of increased competition from rebuilt economies in Europe- primarily Germany (Marshall Plan), Japan/South Korea (Korean war) and more recently China. The US ruling elite responded to this economic challenge by pursing neoliberal economic policies. This included: 1) multiple tax cuts for the wealthy, 2) financial deregulation- repeal of Glass–Steagall legislation (1933 Banking Act) by the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act (GLBA) in 1999 and Commodity Futures Modernization Act (CFMA) of 2000, that exempted over-the-counter derivatives trades between financial firms from regulation. (Both of these bills were passed during the waning years of the Clinton Administration and may have been a quid pro quo to spare President Clinton an impeachment conviction over his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. 3) Attacks on labor and the poor and job outsourcing to Mexico, China and other low-wage platforms, facilitated by passage of North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 1994. The effect of these policies is vividly observed in the manufacturing sector. In 1960 the US produced 50% of global manufacturing output, accounting for 25% of GDP compared with 17% of global manufacturing output accounting for 11% of GDP, today. 4) Spending vast amounts of taxpayer money on post-911 militarization.
The neoliberal economic policies outlined above precipitated the Global Financial Crisis 2007-2008 (GFC), the largest financial crash since the Great Depression. None of the structural economic problems giving rise to the GFC (listed above) have been resolved; instead, the FED has used the US Treasury as a taxpayer-funded ‘piggy bank’ (the FED cannot print money) to pump over $40 trillion (this figure may be as high as $50 trillion) to support insolvent banks, inflate bond and equity markets and over-priced real estate, creating the ‘everything bubble’. Thus, since 2009, the US ‘economy’ has been sustained by continuous money printing to prop up financial markets and the Pentagon. Not surprisingly, this has been accompanied by an explosion of debt and rising inflation, further exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, war in Ukraine and sanctions on Russian energy, which has led to demands for even more money to support financial markets and the Pentagon. To provide some perspective, from 2020- Q2 2022, US government debt increased over $7 trillion. At the same time, the ruling elite have promoted wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Ukraine. Despite spending astronomical amounts of human and financial capital on these conflicts (> $21 trillion since 2000), the empire has been unable to extract significant economic rent or obtain any tangible victories. The US now confronts an increasingly assertive Russia-China-Iran axis, that has attained military and economic parity with the west, and also unifying the Global South via BRICS and SCO which increasingly threatens the dollars status as reserve currency and American global power. It appears Joe Biden and the ruling elite he represents view the Russia-China-Iran axis as an intolerable obstacle to US global power. Unfortunately, empires in decline do not always behave rationally.

I’m trusting that the Ujghur reference was a joke and Larry realises what a fake story that is.
It is nice to see that the 1 million Ujghurs in prison story is now never repeated in mainstream news. Much as the “Russia invaded Georgia” claim has disappeared, but remains in the mind of many who think they read the news so know their modern history.
btw the last documented evidence of Manual cotton pickers was in US prisons in 2010.
In xinjiang it is all mechanically picked (no doubt by slave tractor drivers)
Pro US EU ‘coup’ in the making in Moscow?

Why the deep hatred – shall we count the myriad ways?
Russia has a huge trove of natural resources (the real basis of economic wealth), the most of any nation on earth.
Any political system that cares for its citizens (socialism) is a threat to capitalist ideology and must be destroyed. Cuba, Venezuela, USSR, China, etc. After WWII the US ruthlessly suppressed socialist movements across Europe.
Motivation (manipulation) of the populace by fear (black guys in handcuffs on TV, evil dictators) to generate support for insane political policy – WMDs in Iraq, Gulf of Tonkin, etc.
Economic profits via the military complex, energy cartels, and their financiers.
Basically…..the powers that be are only interested in power and control…. money equals power so in fact they gain power by methodically consuming all the riches of the planet one nation at a time…and the largest and richest land mass is not under their control… Russia. interesting to note the world’s remaining pariahs are nations outside of the death cults central banking system…..so the death cult wants to tear apart and devour Russia so it’s is personified by one focal point of fear/hate and that is a short guy with a short easy to remember and pronounce name ..Putin. ..not only the focus of this campaign of hate because of his nation’s vast wealth and lack of hidden hands central bank but also the military potential to defend itself which must go before plundering can commence ….and it’s the Bastion of Orthodox Christianity which has many enemies from the papacy to Western social engineering globalists…and a popular culture reference to the commies being the enemy of freedom. All these factors make the propaganda arms of the death cult hate Russia ie Putin. Interesting to note…watch Putin walk. His left hand swings by his side while his right stays slightly clenched and stationary …this is muscle memory of a man that has carried and controlled a longarm for many years. With a leader like this ….the collective Anglo Zionist inbred death cult had better beware
Lots of reasons for the hatred which largely work together.
My big points are:
Hillary Clinton and Uranium One – in Dec 2015 her team talking to focus groups found her very vulnerable to allegations of corruption – documented in the book of the campaign, Shattered. (The scam was the huge $100m+ kick back the Bill & Hillary Foundation got from the owner of Uranium One after it was sold for billions to Russian Rosatom on approval of State Secretary Hillary).
That is why her team went after Trump with the Russiagate nonsense (Steele dossier etc) which Trump chose to laugh off rather than counter attack with Uranium One accusations – probably the smart move by Trump.
The 2007 Munich speech which was followed immediately by the hate speech western media attack on the Socchi Winter Olympics – certainly the fake news of Socchi was what convinced me that there was an organised campaign against Russia, not just some underlying mistrust. Munich seems to have been a trigger.
The 2018 missile speech which essentially said that the Russian MIC had better products than the US MIC. Of course the real issue with this is THAT IS APPEARS TO BE TRUE.
And Ukraine war pretty much proves it.
Will the West find a way to reforge normal relations with Russia? More importantly, will Russia want to engage them?
A different perspective?
Down the road the west will need to be saved. The ‘woke’ ideology, destruction of the basic ‘family’ unit/values, the loss of educated, critical thinking minds, confused/damaged/unproductive gender unknown populous, a society built on ever changing government lies, few real-life skills without an ‘app’ to think for them, a financial house of cards that has no core value, etc, etc, etc………
The US/West has set in motion its own future societal destruction in an attempt to maintain its hegemony.
I for one, hope Russians can maintain their moral clarity, wisdom and resolve to resist this lemming-like mindset of the West.
Like history, when the Eastern and Western Roman Empires split for good in 476AD, the west disintegrated in the societal/intellectual Dark Ages while East kept the light of accumulated knowledge and wisdom alive and shining until 1453.
Perhaps Russians will be there inn the future with the ‘light’ to help the west?
If history repeats itself thou, the West, in its arrogance, greed and ignorance will prefer to suffer a thousand years of pain, suffering, disintegration, chaos, war, hunger, disease and decay than admit to mistakes made and make the hard choices necessary to restore a healthy society and future in cooperation with other nations on this globe.
The West must discard the idea that it and it alone, is ‘exceptional’ and all others inferior under its’ self serving ‘Rules-based-Order’!
The West’s hatred of Putin predates the Syrian war and wokeness. My guess is that the West hates Putin because he disrupted their grabfest of the 1990s and prevented the West from totally exploiting Russia’s resources. Putin has been a staunch nationalist and has always put Russia’s interests first. That kind of thinking is foreign to the greedy SOBs who rule the West. Finally, only Putin stand in the way pf the Great Reset.
This site is a fraud just like everywhere else – you all are wasting your time here in this USA Russia and World “intelligence”[sic] status quo con.
Why?
What’s a ‘Longarm’?
Actually language is a fraud. People are people.
Er, no. The Uighur story has not been “de-bunked”.
Having travelled all over Xinjiang myself, and having a friend who is married to a Uighur woman whose family are still there, I can assure the sceptics that there are indeed grim things going on in China today.
Just because the west uses human rights to attack countries it dislikes, does not mean there is nothing to see.
This is one of the most dispiriting things about geopolitics today.
All the others western “human right things” were a lie, but this one is true. Trust me bro.
I will say that claims of genocide are overblown. China’s policies toward the Uighurs seem closer to pre-modern Britain’s policies toward the Irish. Control, control, control. At least the policy of making low-level government officials (mostly clerks) live with influential Uighur families has ended, and thankfully without incident. The major urban centers of Xinjiang are in their fourth month of zero-COVID lockdown. Shanghai’s lockdown lasted, what, a bit longer than a month?
One thing I have in common with the pro-China folks, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings in the slightest if the US wasn’t the world’s biggest bully. But for those who think communist China is the greatest thing since sliced bread: if China becomes the leading world power, all y’all will be sorry.
Sorry, but Xi is not that good a guy. He is a very different beast to Putin or even Iranian leaders. He is however very capable, patient, good at nation building and has a clear vision for China. Whether his friendship with Putin really means anything in terms of capacity to sacrifice benefit time will tell. Right now it’s a convenient relationship.
The Uighur situation was not raised first by western politicians, they infact have always sought to downplay it, it was human rights organisations and Uighur refugees that raised it. The Uighur are Turkic unlike the majority Han. Note there are many Han Muslims who aren’t treated the same way.
Yes it may be used as a political football but there is a there there
China is implementing the Wests one generation rule used against native Americans and colonies. Namely, put one generation through a different system to destroy a culture and control a people.
I cannot imagine anything similar happening in Russia under Putin.
Comrade Winniepooh is hardly the worst communist leader China’s ever had; up until today, I would’ve said he was hardly the worst living communist leader (Sayonara, Jiang). He appears to be remarkably adept at Soviet-style politics. I would dispute that he’s good at nation building. He certainly has a clear vision for China, and that vision is one of tightened central control and a reversion to planned economy leading to Chinese preeminence. No comment on the viability of this.
Pooh’s policies on the Uighurs, Tibet, India, and Taiwan are largely extensions of long-standing Party policies. I expect that many aren’t aware that the Han populations of Xinjiang and Tibet are as large as they are due to the colonization policies of the Party, including direct military colonies operated by the PLA.
Nothing like this in South East Asia. If anything, Putin and Russia is well respected.
However, being under the influence of the Western media most of the time – I can see that a good number of the youth begin with the default position that Russia is bad.
There also isn’t enough of Central Asia’s culture around here to give a good understanding.
Having read transcripts of speeches by Putin and Lavrov I’ve concluded they are intellectual giants who make our “leaders” seem like mental midgets.
If only we had leaders like that.
President Assad is worthy of respect. I saw him as Gulliver assailed by swarms of US backed Lillipution insurgents
As someone brought up during the cold war in a very Catholic home with eastern European roots I was struck by how much Putin sounded like the ” moral majority” American christian right some years ago. My family emigrated to the US to get away from atheistic Soviet influence. Putin’s series of interviews with Oliver Stone( no Falwell or Trump guy) on Showtime reveal a well educated and read Putin. He even scolds Stone for not having enough respect for the USA. Putin is fiercely patriotic. He still speaks highly of US historical contributions particularly the greatest generation in speeches to Russian citizens. I suppose that is enough to condemn him. Anyone who degrades Russia and its capabilities is a fool.
Question: Why do they hate Putin.
The answer is this, the young Putin was originally part of the club but saw the reality so he moved to the light. The club does not like turncoats as in the same vein they hate Trump, he his not one of them.
And one thing the club does not like are those that challenge them, they are used to getting their own way but that has now all changed.
Who shot JFK is irrelevant but why he was shot is relevant. Zapruder was not some random observer. What he recorded was to show to others to do as they are told or this is what happens to you.
Many great comments up-there…
This one, IMHO important, view was missing:
Hate is one of the most soul-consuming emotions. Our brave leaders’ hired psychologists, aka Mass Formation experts, know that very well. Just see this!
After enough hate/abhorrence and fear the sheople will be completely malleable and willing to do the Great Reset bidding with no morals, no common sense left, let alone any propensity to questioning anything; no free thought will be tolerated — as Ben Franklin said: “If everyone is thinking alike, then no one is thinking.”
Cheers, JaKo
I * 1942, was raised in the normal permanent spirit of ‘die Russen kommen’. And like me everyone. It was an atmospheric given. My non-ideological father had soldier-jokes about the primitive Russians or Iwans, who tried to wash their potatoes in a flush-toilet flushing them away, a.s.o, or asking the watch-maker for a ‘new mechanist, the old one is death’ and crap like that.
Russia reveals, it is the western haughtiness which is most dangerous enemy of man within the western person, which is infesting mankind under Nato’s umbrella, permanently fanned by media 24/7 .

America has no culture? America is a state of mind. That is better than culture. No “tribal” European will ever understand what this means.
Of course it has, it’s called woke culture. On the other hand “cultureless” Russians made LGBT propaganda illegal. Those cultural differences is why we have this war.
As to why Putin became the hobgoblin of the US is the fact that he was the original excuse for why Hillary lost the 2016 election. This was an obviously untrue and hyperventilated assertion. However, this fact, hammered ad nauseum by the media — i.e., Putin is an evil magician who stole the election from the anointed one — gave the Democrats all they needed. They have turned him into a perennial scapegoat as well as holding him out as an explanation for all of their failures. Why should the Democrats let go of this ‘gift that keeps on giving’? He is the Emmanuel Goldstein of our time. We have our irrational “two minutes of hate” and go away happy and oblivious to reality. That is what the Western elites want. So, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat ….
He dropped a turd in the West’s punchbowl. Nobody likes a party pooper.
Excellent list. I must have missed it the first time. Thanks for it.
It is readily apparent, that if Ukraine had played their cards right, they could’ve been in contention as the richest nation on the planet on a per capita basis.
Kidding. Who besides China cares about the per capita aspect of things? No one, outside a few leftist bots like me.
What we the people are told to care most about these days, is the further enrichment of our Oligarchs!!! Which continues apace in the Ukraine, by the way, if some recent reports I’ve been reading, are to be believed.
Makes sense. All the 10s of billions that are pouring into the beleaguered country have to be going somewhere, and they’re sure as hell not going to least among us, which in this particular instance, happen to be the front line troops that are getting exterminated, or the regular, law-abiding folks on the homefront, who are now forced to make ends meet by candlelight.
Or not make ends meet … depending.
As for Vlad the Enigma, I agree with all the theories put forward by everyone, and would only add with my two cents, that I believe there is a tranquility about the man that scares the ever living shit out of people. I call this state of being, the Buddhist Calm.
The concept first entered my consciousness when I was little kid, looking at a photo in Life magazine, and never left me.

Talk about steadfast courage under fire, and I’m not being flip. Some people have it, and some people don’t, and Vlad the Master (of at least one?) of the Eastern Arts, has it in spades, as did Thich Quang Duc.
My conservative friends hate Putin because, they say, he is a dictator and he kills political opponents. Also, he has a desire to take over the world (or at least re-establish the Iron Curtain). He’s just like Hitler!!!! don’t you know. And he’s a madman. It’s America’s job to police the world and keep it safe from evil madmen like Putin.
Same people say that Azov Nazis are a fabrication and Putin propaganda. I’ve even pointed out that US Congress recognizes that Azov are Nazis to the extent that a law against funding them was created (though now repealed). Shown them the news stories, etc. from a few years ago that document the Azovs’ far right ideology and war crimes. They can’t even look to verify. They just state that I’m a Putin stooge.
In short, these people are stuck in some WW2 mythology of American righteousness and greatness and, thus, they seem to need a demon to fight. The media tells them that Putin is that Hitleresque demon and they go with it. They have a psychological problem and the media/neocons exploit it. People are freaking stupid irrational beings that can’t admit that they are nor when they’re wrong. They mistake their own opinion for sound analysis based on facts. They really don’t care about the truth. They’re more interested in appearing informed and in line with official narratives.
Easier to believe that than to understand that you are colonised, lied to and psychologically manipulated daily by your own country.
As for why the US government hates Putin, I think your theory is valid and explains it perfectly
Putin should tell the west to “Go to hell, go directly to hell, do not pass go, do not collect $200”. Then “Let’s go Brandon”!!!!! No deals with insane pedophiles and satanists!!!!
The West is DOOMED by its rejection of the TRUTH!
Nah. Keep stringing them along. At some point they become your bitches.
Russia is not calling America back. America does not take rejection well.
Am waiting for the tiktok video of the US cabinet singing and prancing to “Call me maybe”…
The CIA/government controlled media always has to provide us with a boogeyman to keep us scared and subservient to funding their pet projects.
Just in this millennium, we’ve had Saddam, Muhammar, Bin Laden, Kony, Al Quadi, ISIS, Assad, Kim Jong-un and Putin.
I saw the writing on the wall back in 2014 when Russia/Putin was portrayed by the media as being too stupid to build proper bathrooms for the Sochi Winter Games participants (which was a blatant media lie).
True from west perspective, no non binary, trans bathrooms.
Before Russia was involved in Syria, Obama referred to Putin as the dull boy in the back of the class and that Russia was a minor regional State. Then the narrative surrounding Syria started to collapse with the fake videos of dead children where the same children could be seen being placed in different positions in several videos. The demonization of Putin began in earnest after Russia’s intervention in Syria.
And with Nord Stream. The EU -Russia relationship was a problem for the US. Plus Russias increasing role in geopolitics and trade.
They needent have worried. The Europeans are the biggest bastards out there and tearing apart the Russian carcass is stirring the blood in their LGBTQ loins.
There is no greater hypocritical bastard and coward than a European leader.
Even a US politician?
Very curious that you would apply to Xi Jinping the same unproved accusations – and hatred? – that you rightly dismiss when directed to Putin. Are we still in the “Cultural revolution” horror stories psychosis, here? It was a long time ago, but the same media hysteria was active then. To me, those two are the most intelligent and uncorrupted leaders in the world right now. And certainly the only hope of getting rid of the neocon madmen grip on the world. If you can’t get past these bizarre dispositions against China – because it’s China, right, not Xi? – at least try to think global strategy…
China’s espionage activities against the US plus China’s role in the release of Covid.
You clearly don’t entertain the idea that china’s zero COVID can be explained by their belief that it’s a US weapon. It makes a certain amount of sense to me.
Larry
Of a truth you have spoken.
You hate what you cannot control.
You lust after what you cannot have.
You despise those who hold a mirror to your face and challenge your authority.
Above all you are driven crazy by those who remain calm and rational in the face of your decaying emotional madness rendering you the fool on stage as you frantically contort yourself to entertain and distract the sullen crowd, lest it’s to you they shout ‘orf with ‘is head’, because if they understand, who you really are, what other outcome could there be?
Beware the truth.
Another great article Mr. Johnson. Thanks.
I really like the statistics on Ukrainian resources. I don’t think most people understand how big the country is much less how resource rich it is.
Because russia repudiated the favorite utopian ideology of the global left: communism.
And Putin in particular is a big target because he did something even worse: he stopped all the punishment the global left was meting out to the Russian people and made it into a functioning country again.
“Second, he is sincere in promoting Christian values, including rejecting the LBGTQ agenda to normalize homosexuality. That has really hit a nerve in the West”
Your 2 points I think are very accurate. I would place significant emphasis on your 2nd point. I a big way, it seems insane that this is so important and to say it will result in people accusing you of being a tin-foil hat whacko.
An interesting read is a book called “Pink Swastika” which examines the influence of the homosexual movement in Germany on NAZI ideology. It’s pretty interesting to read about the gay movement in Germany and realize the similarities to the US in the last 20 or 30 years.
“Pink Swastika”, also outlines the push in the hyper-masculine side of the homosexual camps in Germany for a return to pagan cultural APPROVAL pederasty as being a positive good and model or both parties in the relationship.
Most people will reasonably, just roll their eyes thinking that LBGT, while being visible, is such a fringe movement as to be unimportant in driving policy at these levels. But one just has to consider the push in the media to “convince” everyone of a “new normal” to wonder what is going on.
There is a demonic component to all this. A penetration of strange thinking that people leave themselves open to when they abandon a willingness to even acknowledge God.
The answer lies in fear – see rage, which causes fear – And this fear is only the result of ignorance, low culture, as well as the ‘financial interests’ that have been defused or destroyed in an opaque chain around the world…
Europe, the Union, trembles in its cements. Eurasia represents the conformation of a new sort of Empire…and that are the reasons for the hatred…
We in the western world, now we shall live our big ‘regime change’ in our countries…
difficult and tough times are coming ahead for all of us, unfortunately !
The short answer is international finance doesn’t control Russia. How dare Putin prevent whole sale looting of Russia?!
The only military in the world warning you against international finance is RUSSIA

Putin may leave office, but the hatred will continue for Russia. Waiting in the wings in Russia are more hardline leaders who will not hesitate to teach the West a lesson. In the end, they will wish Putin was still in power, if it eventually comes to that.
Why the deep hatred of Western leaders for Vladimir Putin, it’s because of some things they don’t have: character, courage, conviction, charisma, competence, common sense, communication skills, love to your people, etc, etc…
Why? It’s simple. The West is demon controlled.
Here is a big reason why the west despises Putin:
https://movingtorussia.substack.com/
President Assad is worthy of respect. I saw him as Gulliver assailed by swarms of US backed Lillipution insurgents
President Putin is the complete antithesis of everything so called western leaders stand for. The collective west by their actions and words are ‘anti-christ’ and perhaps ‘dajjal’ in the Islamic tradition. ‘By their fruits, so shall ye know them’.
The visceral nature of the hatred is demonic in intensity and illogical by any common understanding.
I despair at the depravity of western interaction and the loss of diplomacy, such a great and delicate skill, an origami of words and behaviour seemingly lost forever to barbarism.
Only those of us who were born in the 20th Century will realise the loss we face. There are very few Statesmen left in the world. The savages will have their day, for a short while.
Why is Putin hated? I guess it goes back to 1905. But in recent history it started when Putin went after Bill Browder and Khordokovsky. Think of the insanity of the Magnitsky act. Trashing a critical alliance because Browder’s mafia partner died in jail. After Putin disrupted the Syrian op, he became the devil incarnate in the Western media.
people hate Putin because they are told to hate him by their master the hypnosis of the Western media and this is reinforced by talk of the “Cold War” from 1945- early 1990’s. When you hear Americans talk about the “Cold War” it’s always Russia, not the Soviet Union.
The biggest reason Westerners hate Putin is he is a devout Christian man.
Excellent assessment Larry.
Sadly (for us), Putin behaves as a national leader should, and is the antithesis of virtually all Western leaders AND his because his policies are ground in reality, they actually work and benefit his country and its people.
Western politicians and the media can see this but certainly will never admit it, since to do so condemns themselves, so they attack Putin.
The unrestrained rage expressed toward Vladimir Putin stems from a visceral hatred of all things traditionally Christian (and, interestingly enough, traditionally Islamic, too – yet decidedly not the Salafist-extremist ideology with which most Westerners are [sadly] intimately familiar). I have long held that the Russian Federation’s assertive behavior in defense of a way of life that adheres to time-proven traditional values represents a direct threat to those who currently hold most of the levers of political power in Washington, DC – and mark my words, these power-holders are executing the destruction of traditional ways of life worldwide, including in the United States. There is a spiritual, religious, and civilizational war underway, and Mr. Putin is easily the most prominent face of the noble defense of all that is good and just.
As to the identity of those power-holders referenced above, one needs only to conduct research into who, historically and to the present day, has a visceral hatred of all things Christian.
Larry,
It’s an important question and you cover a lot of what this is about. I happened to be living in Russia when Putin was made PM by Yeltsin and won his first election. Been watching him fairly closely since then.
Mostly it’s that he has put Russia first. I saw what Americans refer to as the Russian “democracy” he supposedly ended. It was nothing of the sort and that was the point. Putin essentially drove out or flipped the original oligarchs who were all very western aligned. He put Russia first on his agenda and it was inexcusable. More than that, he was successful. In 99 the average monthly wage was $80; it’s $1,300 now.
He attempted to be accepted on Russia’s terms. To be a partner as he used to be so fond of saying, but the US didn’t want a partner. It wanted a prostrate Russia that could be financially pillaged. They hate him because he wouldn’t bow and he was smart enough to build Russia into a nation that couldn’t be forced to bow. The reasons western leaders hate him is the same reason Russians like him, and even when they don’t like him or agree with his politics, they generally respect him and appreciate that he managed Russia pulling itself up by its own bootstraps.
It’s why the propaganda is still stuck in a depiction of the 90’s, based on alcoholism and poverty. There’s still both but Russia’s way down the list of per capita alcohol consumption at this point. Germans drink a lot more. The west refuses to accept that Russia isn’t what they planned for it and they – rightfully – blame Putin.
I don’t agree with all his politics and until about 2014 I was more than willing to criticize the lack of domestic economic development under him. But I do respect him and anyone who’s watched him over the years will likely agree that he has very much evolved and changed with the times. He even admits his mistakes publicly, but more than that he has a strong track record of making changes to address his mistakes.
Way back when W talked about looking into Putin’s eyes my response wasn’t so much to contradict W’s assessment (I think Putin is as decent a human as a national leader can be) but to point out that W missed the fact that he was looking into the eyes of a professional. A serious person. Putin’s been eating the lunch of western leaders ever since and they can’t stand it.
” …until about 2014 I was more than willing to criticize the lack of domestic economic development under him.”
Looking at Larry’s resource list, and it ain’t no joke, Ukraine should be one of the richest nation-states on the planet. In fact, you have to your work ass off, deligently, and for years and years, not to be, and Ukrainian elites have done a tremendous job of f*cking things up to such an extent that their country is not only the primary exemplar of a how to create a corrupt, backwater shithole out of a land filled with promise and potential, but will soon find itself privatized right out of existence.
(Much like my country, come to think of it, only without the SMO finishing, cherry on top.)
And that’s my trouble with Vlad the Globetrotting Businessman, the Ukraine List is impressive, but pales in comparison to the pleasant situation the Russian Federation finds itself in.
Forget all the minor stuff like crops, minerals, and other vital raw materials, which is nice to have, and the RF sure does have a preponderance of such things, but crucially, Russia is tied with Saudi Arabia as the leading exporter of oil, and is number one in the export of gas.
Needless to say, if you are number one in those two categories, on this resource contrained planet at this late date, and your nation-state is not wealthy, BEYOND DESCRIPTON, you are failing miserably at all levels.
Sorry Putin enthusiasts, as a card carrying member of the Putin Puppet Fan Club myself, it does trouble me to say this. I know he’s only had twenty years to right his deeply troubled ship, and get it steaming full speed ahead, but hey, China just lifted 800 million people out of poverty, with roughly 400 million being thrown directly into middle-class, in less than 10, so there is model of how to go about governing for the people,* if you are a leader of a nation-state with an interest in such things.
A short clip (1:31) of Putin and Xi riding a bullet train out of Beijing. I always wonder what Vlad the Inscrutable is thinking in this moment. Is he wishing he too could be play a leading role in similar spectacular creations in Russia, but can’t because the neo-liberal menace is still too dominant there, or is not really paying attention, as all this is beneath him, because what does HSR for the peasants have to do with the important stuff, like the yachts, global private estates, and off-shore banking accounts of his fellow one-percenters.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkzkxPPtn6w
*This current version of the CPC is maniacally determined to govern for the people, one has to only spend 10 minutes there to realized this is absolutely the case. But at the same time, they are not a government by the people, obviously.
But where is written, that a government by the people cannot also be a government, for the people?
Is there a universal law that states such a political relationship is an impossibility?
I ask because my boyhood dream was to ride a bullet train from Buffalo to New York City, to catch a ballgame with my Dad, and 50 years later, my dream has yet to be realized.
And my Dad is now dead, and his similar dream, went to his grave with him, as will mine it looks like.
One of the great ironies is that Yeltsin was so beholden to the US that when he had to step down and needed a successor who would not destroy him, he wrote to Bill Clinton seeking approval to nominate Putin.
Clinton said OK, one of the few things he has ever done of genuine benefit to others.
The elites that run the west from the shadows want to own and make the profits from Russia’s resources. It’s comical what useful idiots our neocons are, thinking that they are battling for democracy over communism or some jingoistic tripe like that.
Eric Hoffer wrote that all mass movements do not need a God but they do need a devil. Putin is that devil even more than Orange Man Bad.
The left is very female in outlook and embraces hysteria, one hysteria after the other. There is an emotional high they get from hating Putin.
Larry is right that not embracing the anal revolution was a cardinal sin against the American Empire and cannot be forgiven.
The hatred is particularly stoked by the Brandon administration because the foreign policy is controlled by the same tribe that Putin stopped from fully looting the country and are now the originators and drivers of the anal revolution. They have long mentories.
Re your final para, it is also the same group which controls the US AND is about to be ejected from their position of power and expropriation in Ukraine. How could they not be beside themselves with anger?
Wow! So many commeents in so short of a time! Wow! I think this may be some record. Well with all these comments I am not going to be able to read all of them and still add my comment to the avalanche.
So pardon me if I am just repeating what lots of others said… The reason that Putin is so hated is because the Mainstream Captive Propaganda Media tells them to. Simple as that. If you wanted to have them hate Xi and and love Putin (it was all a big misunderstanding said Judy Woodruff), just send your memo to NBC, CBS, CNN, FOX, PBS, ad nauseum and the NY times and WA Post, and Voila! Visceral hatred of Xi.
Well why does the Cabal hate Putin so much that they have marshalled the full force of their control of the media to it? Simple. As you said above Larry, he is opposed to the Woke Jacobin agenda of Klaus Schwab, George Soros, and their gang. Afterall they run the public discourse pulling the strings on the public mind like Grand Puppeteers.
I am probably one of a reasonably small number of Americans that do not feel Putin is the devious, corrupt bastard that he has been made out to be. I have long watched Lavrov and his interaction with the West. Lavrov’s demeanor and words are true professional diplomacy. I have never seen Putin or Russia ever, ever threaten the West at large or individually.
Matters are at a point now where one Putin has removed the neo-Nazi element he has no choice but to continue west and take Ukraine up to the old Polish/Hungarian/Romanian borders and all of the south of Ukraine. I have long thought, and still do that all that will remain of Ukraine is the Kiev Oblast.
When I was growing up in the last half of the 20th century, it was called “The Ukraine”, because, I suppose, it was not a nation it was a region, namely the ‘breadbasket of Europe and Russia’. That’s what it should be again.
A very good reply to “why” that was written in September 2022:

BUT!!!
It is a different question, than Larry’s one.
You tell while the West hates Russia the nation/state, and Larry asked why West hates Putin the person.
Yeah, i believe the former is being the reality and the latter being skin-deep pretense.
But you did not say so.
Hi Larry,
Since you have so many comments posted in a short period of time, it became difficult to read them from top to bottom including all the replies.
Maybe you consider switching to a forum type that allows ‘nesting’. There are many to choose from, and most of them are free.
Just an idea
Sorry to be so late to this discussion. I explain to people we in the US hate Putin because since he arrived on the scene in the early 2000s, our nation has had three Fredos and one Sonny Corleone going up against their Michael.
It is less hatred for Putin how it is hatred (phobia) of Russia.
West always used to personalize issues for propaganda purposes.
Objectively looking at struggles would lead to doubts about “villain having a point”. Sheeple should not. Sheeple should only contracts pavlovian reactions.
“Hitler was cruel madman” goes easy.
“Weimar Germany was a disaster for millions of German mercilessly looted by FUKUS fat cats, and they were ready to pledge to anyone who would stop it, and supported him with all their talent and stamina” – kinda hard to swallow, and totally impossible to swallow without chewing first. Anathema.
It is a bit inconsistent then how “mere madman” could defeat the whole of Europe, but screw the details.
The caricatures anglo-West drawn in 19th century about Germany or Russia always personified nations to their rulers. Which reduce all the actions of those from maybe bad reactions to real challenges to mindless whims of child-in-power.
Even intentional mis-naming, which is considered kindergarten-level of arguments, is normally employed (tzar John 4th was Fearsome not Terrible, but propaganda needs the latter).
There also is the trait of West-beloved rulers of Russia ridiculed or mocked domestically and vice versa.
West pretends being perpetual victim of Russian aggression. But who was Leo Trotsky? A hero. Stalin? Hitler-grade villain (few years of “uncle Joe”/”good niggah” patting were transient).
Trotsky was fierce proponent of “permanent revolution” while Stalin promoted (at least for few decades) co-existence and joint security. But who cares. Leo is a lion, Stalin is a villain.
This is extra double-thinkish as Stalin was Georgian not Russian, USSR is publicly claimed as a chain and yoke over Russians not democratic Russian state, yet the misdeeds of Stalin are claimed to be Russian debt every Russian person being ought to “repent and repay, repay and repent” (verbatim).
This mess can not be harmonized on face value.
But it makes perfect sense if all the “hatred towards Putin” (and …Stalin, and John 4th) is a propaganda device.
Saying truthful “i hate Russia and Russians” is not helping propaganda. 10 years ago it would be a total taboo to admit it (but no more, Western politicians openly preach of defective russian DNA and loose no credibility).
Reshaping this racial feeling into “i hate Putin the oppressor of poor Russians” makes it noble and mandatory.
Yeah, there is some genuine anger at Putin as the enemy Chief, but this is behind curtains, away from public.
What public circus spins re: Putin, though, is mostly politically correct and propaganda-efficient way to express and promote ethnic hatred to Russianess.
We are Jews of the 21st century, regrettably we have nukes, which only aggravates our sin and your righteous hate. It was vetted to vent everyone’s accumulating internal anger into hating proper object, new Goldstein.
But the shape of Daily Stormer are not recast as new norm, yet. Personalization is require. So, take a stock of Third Reich caricatures of Jews and photoshop Putin’s head instead of Jewish faces – and here is the hatred you wonder about.

Surely the dog is less ignoble than a rat, so western normalcy still has a room for evolution
Larry: great article. Another point is what John Mearsheimer had pointed out, i.e., that the US won’t tolerate the rise of a peer competitor, and this has been US foreign policy ever since the end of the Cold War.
But Russia under Putin has become one such competitor. And to add insult to injury, it is self-sufficient in almost everything and has also formed grand anti-Western alliances such as BRICS, EAEU, etc., turning the entire Global South (including China and India) into one large peer competitor of the US.
The old guard is still the cold war guard. Russia is not the USSR. Those beliefs and assumptions are now dated and incorrect.
Russia has developed since the Ruble crash. “They” hate Putin as he won’t bow to the west, nor…more importantly does he prefer to trade in US currency via the SWIFT. Rubles, Yuan… and the gold backed Islamic Dinar…are the three shots to the heart of the US currency.
Russia didn’t want the Ukraine War… the people that control NATO…and the banking….they wanted the war.
https://www.usdebtclock.org/
When fiat currencies collapse, there are the 3 methods of reconciliation:
1] inflate
2] default
3] they take you to war.
https://ncrenegade.com/russia-last-hope-of-the-west/
You also have to consider the time factor.
At the latest, Putin began ruffling feathers in the West with his speech at the Munich security conference in 2007. That’s at least 15 years during which Putin hate had time to become a meme in a self-reinforcing vicious circle. Woke ideology in the West has gone into overdrive during that same period. This ideology demands and desires an external enemy like all other totalitarian ideologies, adding fuel to the hate. The West also developed its Ukrainian project during this period of time, and the more general project of bringing down Russia. This provided a strong geopolitical impetus for actively nurtering the hate of Putin in the media. Last but not least, economic crises in the West and the Covid crisis have created their own necessity of providing an external enemy that can serve as a distraction and bogey man – Think of the meme of “Putin inflation” put out in thew West.
The usual modus operandi of the West works by nurtering hate against some foreign leader who is to be brought down within a relatively short time period of perhaps 1 – 2 years. It happened with Saddam Hussein and Muammar Ghaddafi. Putin is an exceptionally gifted leader and has control over the Russian nuclear arsenal as well as the support of the Russian people. So the go hard and fast approach could not work. The confrontation has dragged out instead. Together with all the confounding factors, that’s the reason why we are where we are.
well said, thanks.
well said, thanks.
Larry- Thank you for another great article with lots of great comments from so many educated readers.
Thanks, in fact, for all of your posts. For many months I missed your analysis after your marvelous commentary on the Libyan debacle and Hillery’s role in it, and then you were back on Pat Lang’s site with Bill Binney providing some much needed analysis disproving the alleged Wikileaks ‘hack’ of the DNC.
But now your own site is thriving again, together with great dialogue with your friend, the inimitable Andrey Martyanov whose military knowledge and insights are invaluable- and his undeleted expletives a breath of fresh air and a real delight.
Oh Larry finally after more than a year together we disagree on something. Let’s chalk it up to being a throw away line….but anyway FWIW I am sure I am your only reader from Xinjiang. I humbly suggest you check out the Grayzone reporting on XJ. Baloney is a great word often used by the international treasure Mr Smoothie Andrei, the word can be applied in liberal doses to all the hot (now cold) stories from that region. GZ also did a decent piece on a US patsy coordinating Hong Kong yellow umbrella protests from back in the day (the present day protests here also have many obv western finger prints cringe cringe). Btw GZ is not even close to daily reading, unlike your good self, Andrei and team Alex. Keep up the good work.
At this moment the hatred of Putin is part of Western hatred of Russians. Posters and Larry have given many insights. The Christian angle is interesting in that one of the most media driven attacks on Putin was by gay groups boycotting Russian vodka for laws about propagating gayness. (Like Stolis which is a Latvian based now ( LOL)).
It seems to me that the conflict with Russia has taken on the ethnic hatreds of the Nazis against Jews and Russians. Same themes. For example, Michael McFaul blamed all Russians for Putin’s invasion. I was looking at an archive of German Nazi propaganda some time back and found a booklet basically titled “Are there any good Jews?” Guess the answer. And guess the answer for McFaul on whether there are any good Russians. Germans during the 1930’s would have understood McFaul. Many more examples.
It may be that the West has become so emotionally invested in hatred of Russians that they will take the Ukrainian conflict to the bitter end much as the Germans in their invasion of the Soviet Union. And of course, the head of the world conspiracy against the West is Putin.
Mr. Johnson,
Your 2 points are valid, but I would add more:
1) A great part of Western leaders’ hatred for Putin (and Xi JinPing too) is because they envy Putin’s and Xi’s perceived dictatorial power.
2) Another great part of Western leaders’ hatred is that they either disbelieve or envy that both Putin and Xi enjoy enormous levels of support from their respective populations – something NO Western leader remotely shares.
3) I would also point out that both Putin and Xi are long term leaders. The same cannot be said for the West – in which Presidents and Premiers are swapped out like light bulbs or even worse, are occupied by people like Trump.
One thing no one has mentioned directly is the hatred many US people on the ‘liberal’ side feel against Putin because they blame him for Trump’s being elected. That doesn’t mean that the metaprogramming against Russia and Putin is any less real and pervasive. But the hatred people feel against Trump is of a different order, and if Mother Teresa were alive and the Mighty Wurlitzer had fingered her as responsible for Trump’s election, she’d be viscerally despised.
