Cutting off one’s nose to spite one’s face does not begin to describe the self-mutilation the United States and Europe are doing as they step up their confrontation with China and Russia. It is one thing to impose biting economic sanctions on a country like Cuba. What does America need from Cuba that it cannot get elsewhere? It is easy to find good alternatives to cigars, bananas and sugar cane. No show stoppers there.
But it is suicidal when the U.S. and NATO impose sanctions on the countries that produce critical pharmaceuticals (including the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients — aka APIs), rare earth minerals and uranium. That is what the United States and Europe are doing. Consider the following facts:
China is the largest source of fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid, in the United States. Although the Chinese government made multiple commitments to curtail the flow of illicit fentanyl to the United States, it has failed to carry out those commitments. . . .
China is a global source of critical generic drugs and pharmaceutical ingredients, as well as health-related products like dietary supplements, biotechnology products, and medical devices. It is also the main source of APIs globally. Even India—the world’s leading supplier of generic drugs—relies on China for 80 percent of its APIs. The United States sources 80 percent of its APIs from overseas, and a substantial portion of U.S. generic drug imports come either directly from China or from third countries like India that use APIs sourced from China. Drug companies are not required to list the API country of origin on their product labels; therefore, U.S. consumers may be unknowingly accepting risks associated with drugs originating from China.
If China decides to use its leverage with pharmaceuticals to pressure the United States rather than engage in a shooting war, millions of fat bodies in American that rely on drugs to counter hypertension and diabetes would face life threatening situations. Americans already are dying in the thousands from overdoses of fentanyl, which is produced in China and delivered to American addicts courtesy of Mexican drug cartels. China has a trump card here that it has declined to play. If they do lay it down the devastating consequences will be felts throughout America.
Then there are rare earth minerals. China is the behemoth on this front:
China supplied 80% of the rare earths imported by the United States from 2014 to 2017.
China is home to at least 85% of the world’s capacity to process rare earth ores into material manufacturers can use, according to research firm Adamas Intelligence.
But Russia also wields some clout. Note, the article I am quoting from was written while the West still labored under the illusion that Russia and China would not join forces. That is no longer the case:
And then there is uranium. Enriched uranium is an essential element to power nuclear plants. Even neo-con Samantha Power — currently serving as head of USAID and author of the piece with the following quote — understands the peril facing the West on this energy front:
Russia, ironically, is in a stronger position than China. Russia’s economy is virtually self-sufficient. Moscow does not need to go begging to the U.S. or Europe for anything to keep its manufacturing plants operating. China faces more vulnerabilities because its economy is struggling and it has relied on markets in the U.S. and Europe to sell its goods. The unanswered question is will China reach a moment of decision where, fearing a shooting war with the U.S., it will pull the economic trigger and withhold pharmaceuticals and rare earth minerals that are vital to Western economies?
We already see clear evidence that China is not taking a “wait-and-see” approach. It is strengthening economic and political ties with Russia and has embarked with Russia in setting up a new international financial system that will be largely immune from Western sanctions and bullying.
I do not see any evidence that the “smart” people in Washington, London and Berlin are engaged in strategic planning to deal with these threats. So far they are behaving like a degenerate gambler, doubling down on their belief that they can force the ouster of Putin and that Russia will come crawling back to the West pleading to be taken into the fold. That is a losing bet.
As the U.S. and NATO escalate their verbal threats and delivery of lethal military aid to Ukraine and Taiwan, the Chines and Russians are taking note and are prepared to defend themselves. The West seems intent on starting a gunfight and is only now coming to the realization that its supply of ammunition is running out.
Never mind the fat ones, worry about the ones that need psycotrophic drugs or as I call them dopedics. They are everywhere but you don’t notice them, until they can’t medicate. Now that will be a hoot…
Those, unknown millions, on SSRIs and other ‘safe’ licensed soma potions pose two dangers, unlike yer ole fashioned junkie who just curls up in puking, bowel voiding waste of space for a couple of days.
If they overdose (a debatable concept when the drugging is intended to be long term, if not life long) they freak out – always fun in a gun-clogged society – but, if cut-off, tend to freak out.
Alcohol may inspire revolution but, as with ‘brewer’s droop’, the impulse is rarely followed by action.
True. I’ve never seen a fat terrorist.
Cutting off antibiotics would kill millions. Ask a hospital how many people will die without antibiotics for 90 days.
Yes, indeed!!
The parable of the scorpion and the frog springs to mind.
Picking fights is in the USA’s nature.
Samantha Power heads USAID and is presently trying to make a color regime coup in Hungary with new NGOs. The US ambassador to Hungary is David Pressman, a longtime colleague of Power and a married butt pusher to another gay. How’s that for a very insulting provocation by the US to a country that neither wants nor allows gays to marry or adopt children, of which Pressman and his butt loving wife have two very unhappy little boys with no mother!
Thanks. My bad.
Thank you also. I have been in exile here, Hungary, for the past six years. I believe that Hungary, a very traditional culture that I visited and studied for half of my life deserves its own sovereignty to not have to cowtow to fake democracy all about accepting loathsome degeneracy and the breakdown of the family as we see in nolonger America. Orban is a strong, honest leader chosen by a very high percentage of Hungarians. I pray to God he will prevail. BTW, my family came to America in 1700 from the British Isles, Scotland and Ireland. Only one Sir among them. Undoubtedly disenfranchised by the enclosures of the seventeenth century. Extremely hardworking and virtuous wlth only a very few black sheep. I apologize for being off topic, but I am too heartsick over what has happened in my homeland and could not resist. Thank you, I read you every day.
I am an ethnic Hungarian and am also saddened to see what has happened in Europe. I think the only hope for Hungary is to leave the EU.
and also to live the NATO
idem for Italy.
and no only for the ukro- war…
Better not to jump until you have a parachute. Hungary would need to be part of SOME defensive alliance. At the moment they don’t share a border with Russia, so any defensive alliance with them would put them in an… awkward position. Of course that could change this year…
I agree with you, Orban is a leader who cares about his people and does everything he can to protect their sovereignty and their rights. Whenever you see an American President trashing a foreign leader, you can bet that leader stands up to the US, doesn’t take its BS, and is doing something right for his people. Mummar Ghaddadi was also such a leader, he wanted African independence from US colonialism, and was brutally murdered for it. Someday this might be the fate of US Presidents when they face Russia and China in another 20 years.
Code for I am homophobic and transphobic and believe that Leave it to Beaver is what actual families are like
Samantha Power is a guy.
Woke feminist religionists love to do that. Guilt trips are their specialty. The state department sent nothing but black ambassadors to apartheid South Africa. If the FBI gets after someone for a perceived racist thing they send a black agent. Samantha Power is an active priestess in the religion. She was the key person in getting Obama to bomb Libya. She is now working her magic in Hungary. Too bad Orban doesn’t poison her like Yushchenko — she’d really be a beauty an anorexic with a bubble wrap face.
Thanks. I blogged that the other day.
We retired to Hungary 13 years ago as it is simply a great place to live. It was quite awhile later I realized the charm is it reminded me of Germany back in the 70s when honest hard working people with Christian family values ruled the land. Hungary is fighting a headwind of neoliberalism and has so far walked a fine line (much like Ergogan) without provoking absolute ire from the EU. When Orban was re-elected (his first term as a neoliberal was a disaster but now he is a neoconservative) John McCain visited Hungary 3 times with all kinds of threats as he personally managed the NED and in many ways acted as the actual de facto Secretary of State over-riding Kerry at every opportunity. Hungary tossed out all the Soros-funded NGOs, added a 27% VAT (the highest in Europe) to pay off the World Bank and IMF loans (which he did), and more or less ended the serfdom to the US powers. The US exercises debt slavery on countries like Hungary using the IMF and World Bank to execute internal policies that benefit the US (both neocons and neoliberals). Hungary is fighting this hard and has renewed trade ties with Russia which has infuriated the collective west.
Now we have Samantha Pow3ers trying to re-enact McCain’s failed attempts. Orban is hip to it and these will end just as badly as the blatant attempts to influence the last election here which failed miserably. No one here wants to return to the Gyurcsany or Bajnai days. No one here wants Muslim immigrants or gays of any persuasion. I am actually surprised Hungary didn’t make the current Ambassador persona non grata as his appointment was another flagrant and deliberate insult. Hungary did like Ambassador Kornstein though under Trump which should tell you a lot about how Hungary views the US. I am anticipating a change in the next US administration hopefully. But, in the meantime, it is very clear Hungary is at war with NATO and especially the US.
I would add as an explanation of why I think Hungary is at war with both the EU and the US. It is through economic sanctions against Hungary (acts of war) by the EU, withholding all EU funding now because of “corruption” which is a thing very much in evidence in the unelected EU parliament thus absolute hypocrisy. The Hungarian Forint is under currency attacks for a while now (due to its refusal to adopt the EU and enter into the EU Central Bank control). Inflation is more than double the rest of the EU’s. I could add a long-standing trade imbalance between Hungary and the western EU countries but this is not unique to Hungary and applies to all former Soviet-aligned countries. Hungary really cannot export any goods to the rest of the EU but instead must purchase goods from western EU countries at a minimum of 30% markup. Our airline Malev was mandated to be closed by the EU because it received government subsidies which are present in every EU country yet Hungary was singled out. The same for a ban on the export of agriculture as farmers are subsidized as well, also a thing present in every EU country yet Hungary was singled out to be punished.
However, Hungary enjoys a skilled workforce with relatively low wages (actually lower than China now) which attracts western countries to build manufacturing inside Hungary. This is why Hungary is so problematic as it is actually very necessary for EU goods manufacturing. China is building a lot of factories as well. In fact, Hungary will soon be the major arms manufacturer for the EU, as ironic as that seems. So, from this perspective Orban is a dangerous threat against NATO and the US, especially if the majority of armaments are going to be manufactured here.
I expect to see maximum effort against Hungarians and the opening move was the visit by Samantha Powers. Szilard already gave the new ambassador a symbolic slap in the face over his comments regarding the perceived lack of democracy. This coming from a by-design Republic which is in no way a democracy (both the EU and the US are not democratic in any way, shape, or form).
How Hungary responds will be interesting. With massive currency manipulation, lack of any funding from the EU at all now, and now NGO-styled insurrection (preliminary to color revolution as the neoliberal gameplan states), etc. To me, it seems a ripe time to leave NATO and the EU. But, I think Orban is gambling the EU and NATO both collapse because of their complicity in the Ukraine debacle. We will see how It goes.
I hope that Orban’s bet on the fall of €U -NATO is winning
I hope so as well. I also hope the US foreign policy debacles don’t crash the dollar (or Euro for that matter). It looks bad given what they have been doing and there is no end in sight. As they say on the Duran there is no reverse gear for the neocons in charge.
Here is a link to Orban’s State of the Union address. I think it speaks volumes.
https://miniszterelnok.hu/en/prime-minister-viktor-orbans-state-of-the-nation-address-2023-02-18/
Hungary has my best wishes to remain independent. I wish Ukraine could have ended up independent, too. I saw that video of McCain and Graham warmongering in Ukraine a few years ago. It sickens me that the US set that country up the way they did. Too bad they didn’t have a leader like Orban.
I have no doubt that the EU and US will try to make as much trouble for Hungary as they can. I saw this article about a German politician who’s worried that left wing thugs from Germany are beating up Hungarians badly in Budapest.
https://jungefreiheit.de/politik/ausland/2023/linksextremisten-in-budapest/#
I think a couple of them were Ukrainians. Last summer I nearly lost it when shopping at Aldi in my town and in line was a Ukrainian couple festooned with NAZI swastika tattoos. I was sorely tempted to do something violent but maintained my cool. I categorically and unapologetically hate NAZIs and believe anyone with a swastika tattoo needs a bullet to the head. I can’t believe we are tolerating these people to walk freely among us. It actually blows my mind the US supports NAZIs. Germans I get as many have this ideology still but very well hidden. The Banderist offspring in the US and Canada are all still completely ideologues.
However, I am a guest in this country and violence of any kind gets you a 5-year term in prison. I think this is why there is almost zero violent crime in Hungary. Those people will either go to prison, be deported, or both. Hungarians hate this kind of stuff. Really, they are a very peaceful people despite their love of all things military. I think Hungary has possibly the worst record of success in warfare now possibly being surpassed by the US if things continue.
Sadly, Hungary hasn’t been indpendent since losing to the Ottomon empire in 1526. When the Ottomon’s were defeated it was due to the efforts of Austria and Russia and Hungary then became part of Austria (the Austro-Hungarian Empire). It has been a part of something else pretty much ever since with a few brief periods of independence. They allied with Nazi Germany willingly and then were part of the spoils of war afterward and were given to Stalin by Churchill and Roosevelt (like all the rest of East Europe). Since the fall of the Soviet Union they willingly let themselves get reabsorbed again but this time into the EU. This last is interesting as the theory is that each country remains sovereign but alas the EU Commission doesn’t see it that way. It is very similar to the State’s Rights issue that caused the Civil War in the US. At least the EU has an escape clause something lacking in the US Constitution. Personally, I don’t see Hungary leaving either the EU or NATO. I do think Orban is enjoying screwing with them. BUt, if it becomes intolerable thy could hold a referendum and leave.
Would love to hear more about the decision to vote with your feet 13 years ago as well as the mechanics of settling in a foreign country .

And become a ExPat. Take a hard look at Paraguay. Low taxes. Very conservative. You can get a carry permit. But don’t tell any woke socialist, imperialist US Americans about it, please. But… The US DOS sent the same type of ambassador there – “married” to a guy.
That link goes nowhere. What part of Paraguay?
Taxes are all American. America is the only country where all citizens must pay income tax at home when permanently living abroad. We are also one of a small number of countries that taxes pensions. You can never get out of paying US income tax. If you surrender your citizenship you still have to pay for another 10 years. Worse, failing to file can end up getting your passport revoked. Even worse, they can attach 50% of all your assets should you be suspected (but not proven) of owing $50k in back taxes or fraudulent filings. For example, failing to check the tiny box on your 1040 that indicates you have a foreign account can end up with no passport and them seizing your assets overseas. If they want to get you they will and all subjugated countries will willingly help including Hungary.
Hmm. We came here for economic reasons primarily. Hungary has weather that is more or less identical to DC without the humidity. Very mild winters and up until a few years ago plentiful rainfall. The people are amazing and very sophisticated compared to the US. In many regards, they are unique to Europe. The language is nearly impossible to learn though. Up until this war in Ukraine and the nutty and suicidal sanctions life here was excellent. Now prices have increased a great deal, especially food that is roughly 100% more expensive. Some things are price controlled so non-Hungarian groceries have implemented price increases to offset these price caps so many things are much higher than 100% but I think it more or less averages out. Electricity has doubled and gas is 700% higher. This is far worse than the rest of Europe. I believe it is deliberate and directed from the EU.
Hungary faced some incredible and unforeseen issues that occurred when the joined the EU. In the Soviet Union Hungarian products were the pride of the Soviet system and considered the best. Many things were manufactured here for the entire Soviet Union such as all buses, television, radios, mainframe computers, etc. It was an enormous boon to Hungary. All of that was shut down immediately upon entering the EU. Worse ISO9000 standards for safety were mandated with a 90-day compliance so all mining etc. was also closed down. Even worse the Hungarian government banned all exports to Russia (at that time their sole customer). Things became horrible here and the truth is Hunagry is an unequal member of the EU and the main players in the EU will never allow Hungary to be equal. The same applies to all the other former Soviet nations so not unique to Hungary. The problem is the US has purchased governments in most countries and completely controls the policies. The people apparently are willing to tolerate this as long as it doesn’t get too awful. What that inflection point is is anyone’s guess.
We emigrated here without too much fuss and purchased a home. It wasn’t completely easy and had some surprises but here we are. It actually has been wonderful and we don’t regret it at all. A person with an income of roughly $2000 a month can live well here. The Hungarian minimum monthly wage is 100,000 HUF ($275). Many companies are very willing to build factories in Hungary and this has been a boon to the economy here. It is much like the US did for China and eventually, incomes will rise. We have seen vast improvements in the past 13 years.
The closest comparison to Budapest would be Vienna. When we came Vienna was far better in every way than Budapest. This is no longer true and I would say they are roughly equal now and in my opinion, Budapest is now, slightly better. English was not spoken when we came here except by a few but now roughly 30% of the country and the majority of people under the age of 30 speak English.
The medical is excellent and relatively inexpensive. Doctors here are trained in a system developed similar to the Soviet educational system which is vastly superior to the US. Specialists all have PhDs and must conduct research and publish. Many doctors I see now have returned from either the UK or the EU because life for them is better here. Brexit happened because so many “foreign” EU citizens took UK jobs (in their opinion). Many of these were Hungarians and most have returned due to the racism of western Europeans.
I haven’t met any other Americans living here except for a smattering of contractors (the only black people I have ever seen here except for a Nigerian neurosurgeon who we saw one evening) from Boeing supporting the not-US (US) base in Papa where we have 2 CIA operated C-17’s ostensibly NATO but in fact are US Air Force flagged illegally. We also have a few other unofficial US bases here such as a mechanized Brigade that comes once a year to Hajmasker to a very old Austo-Hungarian and later Russian bases there located in a huge military exercise area. There was a squadron of A-10’s at Papa last year but they seem to have gone elsewhere. I heard there is a new section to the main AFB at Ketchkemet where the US will base some F-35s. So, until we leave NATO we are plagued with the presence of the American military who have no official presence here.
I forgot to mention a couple of other factors for choosing Hungary are there is no property tax. There is also no death tax. We do have a city property tax of roughly $200 a year which goes towards the parks and the wonderful flowers lining all the streets and on all light posts.
Another is the respect given to Hungarian musicians, poets, writers, and patriots. Nearly every street is named after one of these. We have a music school in our town for promising musicians, a high school in our district for gifted handball athletes (Team handball is a big thing here). There is heavily subsidised sailing school training for all schoolchildren in our area on the shore of Lake Balaton (the largest natural lake in East Europe). We also have 300 meters down the street a live-in residential high school for botanical and agricultural training. Our area specializes in fine winemaking and children who don’t want to go to University can get certifications for winemaking and or arbor, horticulture, etc. We have several million hectares of National Parks in our immediate area plus an outdoor zoo with representative wild animals also about 1 km away. It is a fantastic area!
Also in our town is the National Cardiological Center as Balatonfured has a history of Roman baths and health waters used for centuries to treat cardiac illnesses. The famous Indian writer Rabindranath Tagore stayed here and wrote some of his poems while being treated for cardiological problems. Several parks are named after him.
In our neighboring city of Veszprem we have a large full-service Medical Center with one of the National Oncology centers (there are several). Veszprem also has a University and is where we do major shopping.
We lack for nothing and it is a very sophisticated country.
On a personal note, what type of visa are you on? Do you have hungarian passports?
EU wide resident permit rules ( roughly ) are such that as long as one can show
1) income enough not to be a welfare case
2) proof of health insurance
3) no really bad criminal convictions
One gets a 1 year residency permit PDQ. If you are a good boy, after 1 year, they auto extend to 2 more years, if after those 2 years & you are still a good boy, auto extend for another 2 years – after 5 years of being a good boy – you get a permanent residency card. During the 1+2+2 period its possible to work locally but you need to get permission.
it’s shockingly simple
I think it depends a bit on each country. The temporary visa was easy but did require proof of income and medical insurance. My military Tricare Overseas (as worthless as it is) was sufficient. Getting a letter from the Army proving I had it was an entirely different matter and took 6 months to get. The income required 6 months of bank statements. Later we used Medicare even though it is useless outside the US but Hungary doesn’t know that. We have now gotten the National Medical coverage at a cost of $25 a month each although we actually pay cash for private clinics and get immediate and VIP service relatively cheap compared to the US. We don’t abuse the medical system and should we need it we have our Hungarian Taj cards (Social Security) we can use for medical both inside Hungary and within the EU (requires a different card which you must get prior to travel).
The Permanent visa was far more complicated. All documents had to be translated into Hungarian at a cost per letter. This includes passports, birth certificates, marriages & divorces, police background checks for the last place lived prior to entry into Hungary, and proof of open-ended airline ticket back home should it be denied. They also required proof of a place to live with a signed permission of the owner(s). In our case, we bought a house so we are joint owners and we had to prepare a letter for each other. We also had to provide an official copy of the deed (dated within 6 weeks of application) and proof of ownership in our case, plus a clearance from the tax showing we paid property sales tax. It was quite a bundle and cost roughly $2,000 to get official translations plus the various fees for documents. The official translations took several weeks.
As you rightly state Hungary doesn’t want or accept criminals, dirtbags or penniless immigrants. We also had to have a home inspection (kind of hilarious as the house is extremely lavish and expensive). They are very happy to have immigrants like us as we contribute to the economy and don’t take away from them.
Many thanks
Permanent Resident only and I have no other passports (my wife does but not Hungarian). The Permanent Resident visa is only for 5 years and must be renewed and can be revoked for any reason should they want to get rid of you. We are beneficial to the Hungarian economy and cause no trouble and we do love the country so I think we are okay living here. I have toyed with the idea of getting a Hungarian Passport but language proficiency is the problem. There is no way I will ever learn Hungarian enough to pass that test.
When Orban was re-elected (his first term as a neoliberal was a disaster but now he is a neoconservative)
Neoconservative???
Bite your tongue, man!
I am going to be presumptive as I am not a Hungarian and have no right whatsoever to judge them. But, I do try and understand what is really going on in Hungary and Europe as a whole. So, I apologize to Hungarians who will be offended by any of my comments. This is what I understand after 13 years of living here. We have Hungarian friends from all ends of the spectrum. We live in a resort city that has benefited from the sudden wealth of many young politicians. It is as plain as the nose on your face.
So, you can call call Orban what you want. His first term was a disaster. Orban was a Soros-trained WEF politician who is also very ambitious. He is, after all, a politician and as such has no actual morals. He instead has a very keen sense of the political will of the people and panders to that. His policies are designed to give the people just enough of what they want while making certain he stays in power. He is in every sense corrupt to the core. Some of it is so flagrant it is embarrassing to see. But, as long as he keeps things getting better, of course, he and his political cronies also benefit as well. Here is a decent (albeit biased but still accurate) article about Orban: https://www.euronews.com/2022/03/30/hungary-election-who-is-viktor-orban-and-how-has-he-stayed-in-power-for-so-long
Fighting the Soros Open Borders BS that Merkel supported for some insane reason and caused a tidal wave of immigration into the EU was a brilliant move by Orban. Hungarians hate all Muslims and for good reasons given the history of the Ottomon rule here. That will never change. They also hate Gypsies, Gays, and Jews pretty much in that order. Being Jewish I would term the latter “innocent” anti-semitism as it is generational (much like in Germany, Poland, or the Netherlands who are also racist to the core even though they pretend otherwise). My point is that Hungary, unlike most countries in Europe actually says the quiet part out loud. When we came here the political party Jobbik, was rising and had brown-shirted NAZIs parading around openly threatening Jews, Gypsies, and Gays. That party has gone down in popularity but the sentiments haven’t. They have downplayed the Nazi stuff and their platform now reads almost exactly the same as Orban’s Young Democratic party (Fidez). Fidez is more or less Center-Right while Jobbik is far-right. Similar to Republicans and MAGA in the US. It is complicated as all politics are. The liberals here are all manifestations of various other disastrous parties that ruled before and kept Hungary down so much and with the same players. Those leaders were even more corrupt than Orban and his cronies similar to the Clinton/Obama mob who are as corrupt a group of people as any in the world. I would divide it simply as Soros-supported and anti-Soros. Soros is in many ways an extension of USAID, the CIA, and NED. He and his NGOs operate in unison with the US deep state goals that operate above US politics. Europe is infested with leaders sponsored by Soros or his affiliate organization the WEF but all really operating under CIA management. Orban was one of them and might be still. Who can say but in my experience politicians don’t really change. What they say changes but not who they really are.
However, in a large sense, I see Fidez actually contributing to society and the people’s lives in Hungary are getting better. This is despite the corruption aspect. At least they are only skimming 30% for themselves rather than the 100% as before. When we came here more than 50% of the people (the bottom half) wanted to return to communism as their lives were far better then. That number has improved but it is still an undercurrent running among the bottom 50% of the socio-economic scale here. It is something to contend with.
I think Hungarians are somewhat divided. The liberals all live in Budapest, Szeged and Debrecens. These are University cities and Universities are pretty much the breeding ground for neo-liberal thought. The same is true in the US. There are no charismatic leaders hanging in the shadows to inspire any switch away from Fidez so I doubt this will change as long as the people are happy enough. Things here are improving and at a rapid rate.
Lastly, and always this is a constant here there Trianon treaty that took away from Hungary fully 66% of its land and people hanging as a dark cloud over all Hungarians. The US Ambassador at Trianon is who caused this disaster in Hungary and the blame cannot be swept away. The US also very strongly encouraged the Hungarians to revolt in 1956 away from the Soviet Union and all promises of support fell to a whimper when the Soviet Army swept in and put down the revolt. Hungarian life before that was actually not bad but the repression that followed was harsh, perhaps justifiably as 1/3 of the Nazi Army fighting in Stalingrad were Hungarians. I am, of course, over-simplifying this but my point is there is a weird love/hate relationship with the US. They want to like us but based on the past, once you remind them, they realize the US will, as always, betray them. This is something Ukraine is about to learn.
Here is an article about the far right in Hungary that reads to me as fairly accurate: https://cz.boell.org/en/2021/01/15/observations-current-state-hungarian-far-right
So, Hungary like all other nations has a very complicated political landscape. People want stability and dislike change. They also want their lives to get better but not at the cost of losing social and family values. This is something that the US is fighting to change around the world and the EU seems to be more than eager to apply US values to Europe. I predict failure when things get tough. Society will break down back to tribal values when things get bad. All this silly sexual orientation and love of all things from non-tribal people will fall away when social unrest becomes real. Here in Hungary, there are really only political divisions and socio-economic divides but not any of the other nonsense that complicates pro-US western life. I am not sure what to call that side of things. Atlantacists doesn’t quite cover it.
I suppose the real question is what contingencies do the ruling class in USA have in place if/when things go to hell? Second passports? Deep bunkers?
I am assuming these people are not stupid but instead trying to word magic things into reality by fooling the weak willed.
They all have 2nd citizenships plus ‘vacation’ homes overseas.
After they’ve completed the task of draining the animated corpse dry, the ruling class can slither back to Tel Aviv or perhaps an island that has replaced Epstein’s in function. Probably both.
The rich live in a fantasy world. Should things go bad in the US they will be bad or worse everywhere. As the saying goes if the US gets cold the world gets the flu. Rich people are universally hated. They can’t live without servants or underlings all of whom come from the bottom half of the socio-economic scale. Take the US military as an example, it doesn’t represent US demographics whatsoever. The enlisted ranks are predominantly black or Hispanic and whites are from the bottom half of society (except the generational military who follow family tradition). The officer ranks are nearly 100% white. If push comes to shove, who will the soldiers support? The rich or their families or people of their ethnicity or socioeconomic backgrounds? The rich are only safe when in the company of other rich and only when things are peaceful. Even then the rich eat their own. There will be no haven for them if things go South. The rich will be blamed, rightfully, for all things that went wrong. Most will end up dead should it come down to bonfires and pitchforks time.
Will it come to that? Hard to say but history repeats itself and the French, Chinese, and Russian revolutions are probably a harbinger of things to come but now at a worldwide scale. It really depends on who wins WWIII (now in progress). Multipolar or US Hegemony. US Hegemony will end with revolution and possibly the end of mankind. By US Hegemony I really mean Anglo-Saxon and taking a step back, former and current colonial powers. The colonized will unite against them eventually and despite constant and never-ending efforts for regime change from the US in all potential enemies. Can Russia, China, Iran and whomever decides to join in, actually defeat the US? I suppose we are going to find out in the next 20 years or so (maybe this year if it goes nuclear).

Seriously.
Just the API’s alone is a national security threat to the United States.
To think that no one in Congress is submitting legislation to make these API’s domestically (think fever reducers and kids!), is mind-blowing.
There’s an easier solution, stop being the loathed international bully, try existing within the international rules as laid out in the UN charters, not the “I make them up as I go along, my International Rules based Order”. America/US is a tiny 4.3% of the world’s population and its only execptionalism comes from the fact that it was born out of genocide and slavery and has continually been at war ever since, surviving solely on rape and pillage. If it begins to behave as a normal country, respecting the sovereignty and borders of others….it may just survive, but I very much doubt that will ever hapen.
I find Irishmen much more loathsome. They have been rid of the Brits for less than 100 years and are willingly turning their country into the third world.
I am reminded of John Wayne claiming that the genocide of Native Americans was justified because they were “selfishly trying to keep the land for themselves.” At some point all the “democracy” tall will be dropped in favour of the bald statement that NATO has to fight Russia and China because they’re “selfishly keeping all their resources for themselves.”
I am unconvinced by the idea that NATO and its slaves will be deterred by the knowledge that they will likely lose any war they launch against Russia and China. Imperial Japan knew the probability that with its resource problems and its limitations in military technology it would in the long term lose if it entered WWII. But it did so anyway because the alternative was to abandon its colonial empire.
Exactly 500 years of Global Domination/Colonialism won’t go away quietly. Remember EU basically has no resources. They lived in “the dark ages” when not colonizing. Russia and China’s ideas will put an end to colonization/neo-colonization. It’s an existential threat to them and USA even moreso bc we are world reserve currency in addition to colonization. I have no doubt we will be at war with these usurpers.
‘At some point all the “democracy” tall will be dropped in favour of the bald statement that NATO has to fight Russia and China because they’re “selfishly keeping all their resources for themselves.”’
You are very late with your prediction. It was already said by multiple individuals, including Iraqi kids favourite Madeleine Albright.
They don’t have the same power difference as with native Americans compared to Russia or China much less the whole zone B world.
There is a saying in India which roughly translates to ” When the jackals death is near it goes towards the city”)
The rest of the world has the inertia as the fall of the West is going to cause some chaos everyone is trying to hedge the costs till it becomes inevitable. At some point something will break as it broke for Russia. Then the West will be left to it’s own devices.
Hi
This point has been made openly and repeatedly in the last period.
Specifically, the western MSM have been floating the big idea of dismembering the Russian Federation into five chunks in order to plunder her resources more conveniently.
I don’t believe that he ever said that. Do you have proof? American Indians were a bunch of worthless savages though. I’m proud to know that my ancestors killed them by the thousands.

It says a lot about the blog owner, that such comments like the ones by Al Nevsky are allowed.
A lot, and not good.

I guess it’s easier to come up with a single ‘thought for the day’ and post it on multiple websites regardless of relavence.
Larry, good question, and as far as I can tell, no good answer (beyond what one might expect from a 3 yr old – a temper tantrum)
The only answer is a faith belief that US manufacturing can be switched on almost overnight by having the Fed print a few trillion. Maybe that was true in the 40s when the US had a strong manufacturing sector and was not overwhelmed by impediments to manufacturing – the economic incentives favor overseas production and high-profit distribution owned by a very few.
China must have noted that Russia has been well-served by its long preparation and are doing the same.
Meanwhile, I read Europe is going all electric vehicle by 2035 without a grid to support the demand – I guess most Europeans will be forced to use bicycles given the cost and rationing of electricity.

Not just energy cost. The cost of minerals will spike.
There’s a plan afoot to alter the urban landscape of UK cities to make everything available within a 15min. walk. I’m guessing outside ‘your’ zone your new CBDC credit card will not function.
It is not that simple. Manufacturing required engineers and skilled technicians to run and maintain the machines. The supply of that kind of people is very limited now.
New engineering graduates are shall we say, “unimpressive”. Skilled technicians, I mean people who can meg a motor, troubleshoot a 3-phase starter or VFD, set the zero on a level instrument, change a timer value in a PLC are very scarce and there are NOT enough to go around. The ones that have this knowledge are starting to get old, nearing retirement age. Others took the clot shot, so do the math.
It is not looking good.
One of the greatest flaws birthed by the U.S. UnIntelligentsia, Universities, Colleges and Schools is graduating students through a system where the answers are machine crunched. The student, now an engineer, etc, has no clue whether the “answer” makes sense or is out by a factor of 10 (one decimal point.)
The fact is, most students are ignorant, illiterate and innumerate, precisely because their teachers, professors, and the UnIntelligentsia are also ignorant, illiterate, and innumerate.
In my business I am finding this to very true. Plus they have zero intuitive understanding of the topic. They serm to be always looking for “the formula” to plug the numbers in. Engineering is vastly more complex than that.
I was so proud of my granddaughter. Last year of high school in physics class they had a competition to build a small model of a car then the winner would be the car that rolled down the ramp and went the furthest.
I suggested that she make it simple and very light. It was but it looked crude. The other entrants, even the teacher laughed at her entry.
It won by such a margin the teacher was speechless. He had to open the classroom door for it to finally coast to a stop in the hallway. I think she said it went 16 1/2 feet.
2nd place went less than 4 feet.
She’s building a robot now 2nd year engineering at UNF.
Hi Larry. Samantha Jane Power isn’t the ambassador to Hungary. She is in fact the administrator of USAID – the United States Agency for International Development, a post she’s held since April 2021. She was in Hungary very recently offering the Hungarians money and other goodies if they’d only come over to the dark side by subverting the present government. I’m sure you know more about their activities than I do. She’s an out and out neocon, married to Cass Sunstein, and has been rewarded accordingly with cushy government posts throughout her career.
Thanks. I should have checked that. Fixed.
When you are going to shoot yourself in the foot, make sure you’re not pointing the gun at you head when you pull the trigger.
It reminds me of the old joke about the Ukrainian target pistol, only fired once. The barrel points backwards.
At least Thelma and Louise knew and intended to go off the cliff. The current version of the Keystone cops seem clueless.
Losartan from China contained an ingredient that had a higher risk of cancer. CVS had sold Losartan from India, which apparently contained a safer ingredient. However, the supply from India dried up and CVS is now selling Losartan from China. The US is insanely relying on China, as you say, for a large % of pharmaceuticals.
The Chinese and Russians don’t need to stop selling their products to the West, just stop accepting payments in T-bills and start insisting on payment in gold or silver. One way to find out if there’s any actual bullion left in Fort Knox.
The problem is that our ruling classes cut off the peoples’ noses; they will get drugs, food, etc, at whatever price – its just petty cash for them. They do not share the peoples’ pain and the more that die the less useless eaters as far as they’re concerned.
Why would you sell a depleting natural resource like oil for a depreciating, false resource like printed US dollars? Your article is spot on. Russia should sell oil for gold and silver. Period. Or manufactured shit they need.
“The Chinese and Russians don’t need to stop selling their products to the West, just stop accepting GKO payments and start insisting on paying in gold or silver.”
IMHO, the simple answer is because gold is not currently a generally accepted reserve currency equivalent and because many countries do not have enough gold while everyone except the Papus in Africa needs energy.
IMHO, a more difficult answer: Russia is not interested in the economic collapse of the West, despite the insane Russophobia of their leaders and elites. Leaders are transitory, but nations remain.
That is, Russia and China do not need at all that one half of humanity perishes while the other flourishes. This does not happen – we are all on the planet in the same boat.
Russia and the West, IMHO, have diametrically opposed doctrines of survival.
From recent events, the conclusion suggests itself: the United States is fighting not so much with Russia as with Europe, starting with the destruction of the European energy market. (U.S. leaders will be fine with a Russian victory in Ukraine, although they will never openly say so. Recall how they surrendered Crimea almost without resistance, using the phantom pains of the Ukrainians to stir up hatred of Russia and prepare for a future war. If Russia takes Ukraine, the phantom pains will already be with the Europeans, which will allow the whole of Europe to be drawn into the war).
The United States needs World War III to stay on the sidelines, “in the house”, burn all the accumulated debts in the flames of war (the mechanisms have already been developed) and restart the dollar as a reserve currency while other economies lie in ruins.
It is profitable for Russia to sell and buy, to maintain or recreate the solvency of Europe, Asia, Africa and even America.
Do you think I’m right in my reasoning or wrong? If I’m wrong, then what?
Only comment is that you’re conflating the USA with its parasitic British Lobby.

Maybe the real agenda is to cull the US population and to blame Russia and China as cover for this.
Cull and hand over to brics, there is a golden historical thread from these maniacs Sunstein, Powers, Nuland, Kagan et als to 1919 and the soviet union. Whether they intend to or not, its the result of US total destruction that matters to them. Also Brics do not have the malthusian EPA environmentalists as their overlords.
Lots of people need those meds for cancer treatments, too. Also, thyroid treatment – it isn’t long after stopping those critical meds that myxedema coma results. It’s deadly and the only treatment is IV thyroid meds and cortisone. T4 meds are the most prescribed meds in the US. Some take desiccated pig thyroid meds that replace T4 and T3. (T4 only meds are the reason some patients are overweight and depressed – they can’t convert t4 to T3.) China is the main supplier of raw pork thyroid used to make those meds.
So it would be wise to just get along with them, and Russia. As for fentanyl, Biden has the solution now. The latest security state boondoggle is to x-ray every car and truck with passengers inside as they cross the southern border. More cancer from non-medical radiation will surely fix the country’s mass drug addiction.

U.S. Watchdogs Want to Deploy Staff to Ukraine War Zone to Track Arms, Aid Up Close
Three inspectors general say they haven’t seen evidence of major fraud, but want personnel on the ground
By Warren P. Strobel and Gordon Lubold
Updated Feb. 17, 2023 2:56 pm ET
WASHINGTON—Top oversight officials responsible for tracking over $110 billion in U.S. military and economic aid to Ukraine said they would press to deploy auditors and investigators directly into the war zone to beef up monitoring as the scale and scope of American assistance expands.
Inspectors general from the Pentagon, State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development said in a joint interview with The Wall Street Journal that, thus far, they have been able to conduct critical oversight tasks remotely using personnel based in Washington, Poland and Germany….
Western politicians live in a state of daydream powered by their many years of lying. We must also add Iran to the China-Russia list. Although Iran might not possess certain critical minerals required for the world economy, it has something else which makes a vital player on the global stage. Now that Tehran is fully in Russia, China, India camp the Western defeat is more than 100% assured. Every beginner geopolitical analyst understands that since the earliest time Iran has been the key to global domination. Any civilization that would like claim world domination must first hold Iran i.e. the heartland at bay. The last time the one who achieved such a feat were the Anglos in collaboration with their Khazarian partners. They managed to keep Iran at bay for centuries, colonize India and establish a monopoly over the Suez Canal to the south east Asia and the Pacific Ocean. This where the current so called Western dominated global world order now renamed as the rules-based order and its financial casino bribery structure was born and it is also where it would end soon. Don’t know about others, but today more and more Iranians are interested in learning Russian as their second language. Tehran will shortly receive superior Russian made fourth generation+ Sukhoi fighter jets. North-South transportation corridor is currently under construction. There’s a joint banking/transfer system operating between Russia and Iran. In the coming years we should witness the creation of a new Eurasian gas OPEC with members Russia, Central Asian gas giants Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan …, Iran and Qatar all doing business in Ruble-Yuan, BRICS currencies. The American Dream is basically over.
America can have a bright future still.
The reason why patriots like Larry, Col Macgregor & co wish to see an end to the neocon nightmare, is not because they wish ill upon their country, but because they wish to see it return to sanity.
Thanks. Yes absolutely correct. We all understand and differentiate between the American people and many of their positive contributions to the world versus a bunch of Neocon/WEF gangsters holding the country and the rest of the world as hostage, with their mafia economy, nukes and woke none sense. In fact the Americans would have a much brighter, prosperous and peaceful future working with all the nations according to common sense rules and regulations set by the coming Eurasian World Order. It’s only this dark side of America which needs to change/ be replaced by something normal.
No it can’t. We owe too much. Imported too many liabilities. And are too dumb and divided to compete. Pensions will not be paid and gangs will rule the streets after dollar collapse worse than when USSR collapsed. It’s over and the elites know it hence desire to preserve global domination in tech trade and dollar by force. It won’t work though. Little Russia graduates more and better engineers than we do. China 20x more. They have little to no debt and are tossing dollar and dollar institutions lie SWIFT in the garbage leading the world to do so as well.
If China is smart it’ll keep the supply of drugs for diabetes and other chronic long-term conditions flowing into the USA throughout any shooting war. Think of the resources that would be freed up in the USA if all those people weren’t a drain on the war economy…
Well, over here in Switzerland we already face a shortage of many pharmaceuticals. Currently some 300 products are out of stock or available in very limited quantities. Many of these products depend on APIs from China or India and often are no longer made in Switzerland but imported.
Most prescription cough syrups have been unavailable in many parts of the country for weeks already. Lack of APIs is cited by pharmaceutical companies.
Part of my family works in the medical field. Even compresses have run short in some places.
Hospitals not only run short on staff but on many basic supplies, too. People are released if not to say thrown out two days after surgery because the hospital is understaffed due to personnel being taken out with the flu, etc. Wards are partially closed for that too.
I’m normally a cheerful person, however, I fear the worst is yet to come.
“… hospital is understaffed due to personnel being taken out with the flu…”
No, not the flu. The absenteeism is due to quax damage. They are suffering ADE and other ailments as their immune systems are weakened.
All countries that swallowed the CV19 Kool Aid are experiencing this.
Yet the liars in charge gaslight and call it “covid”.
FFS it’s a shit show.
The data regarding India relying on China for 80% of API is completely false.
The publication that you have taken this statement from has a reference for this statement, i.e. reference 1. If you scroll down to the end of the chapter, reference 1 is:
1. U.S. Defense Logistics Agency, interview with Commission staff, May 13, 2019
Are you kidding me? An interview as a reference. Larry don’t do this.
Here is some hard data:
Ministry of commerce and Industry of Govt. of India publishes monthly data on trade.
Here is the release on Feb 15.
https://commerce.gov.in/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Press-Release-January-2023.pdf
https://commerce.gov.in/trade-statistics/latest-trade-figures/
The pharmaceutical related exports were 21 billion in the past 12 months, imports 7 billion.
India’s domestic consumption of pharmaceuticals is about 50 billion. That actually underestimates the actual volume of pharmaceuticals consumed by the population because drugs are upto 10 times cheaper in the domestic market. Even if you ignore the price differential,
total output = 50 +20 billion = 70 billion. In actually kilogram terms this is like 200 billion worth, because the 50 billion spent locally buys a whole lot more drug.
imports = 7 billion.
It is possible that the fraction of the APIs that ARE IMPORTED, 80% are from China, say 5-6 billion, but most of the APIs are actually locally produced and not imported.
And generic drug manufacturing is not rocket science, if China refuses, same APIs can be produced locally, albeit at slightly higher cost, by an industry that is running full steam.
Pushing one’s argument by presenting dubious data can be a powerful temptation. Leave that technique to CNN and MSNBC.
indian govt sites published fake data to pretend everything is fine. it is obvious during the disaster of covid india totally dependent on china for medicine raw materials.
you are trying to spread indian propaganda here , that wont work .. this is not indian forum where propaganda regurgiated as truth..
There must be different factions with different intelligence operating inside the US military, government (privatized) and intelligence agencies that causes all the confusion not to mention the crap coming out of US-based wonk tanks like RAND Corp.

So for sex he’d go to the Phillipines (but swore to us on his mother’s grave that he didn’t fuck kids).
Anyway he said that one time he was there in a red light district he saw a huge African American soldier walking down the street holding the hands of two tarted up 12 year old girls.
Mr. Johnson- i have no idea why our leaders are committing collective suicide for our nations because this is crazy. it seems we are as much the enemy as the russians and chinese to our govts. i came across this from john colemon who wrote this book in 1993. Am beginning to think there is some truth to it. My advice to people is to get off their meds if at all possible. It took me awhile but after learning about natural remedies and how to make your own ; i do not even use over the counter meds anymore. An eg. is if yu live close to willow trees; yu can make your own aspirn or pine needles to make vitamin c . Since all vitamin c is made in china this may be useful. i prevented diabetes by changing my diet. Looks like we need to learn to get back to basics.

We won’t be making many jet aircraft without Russian titanium for the engines and airframes. Russia and China have nearly 90% of the world’s tungsten supply. Try to make armor piercing munitions or metal cutting tools without tungsten. And then there is beryllium. A critical metal use in nearly all satellites and military electro-optics and laser system. Nearly the entire world supply comes from Kazakstan. BTW Russia and China have more than 85% of the world’s smelting capacity for non ferrous metals.

all we can say at this point is that – if – the collective west were set on a deliberate course of all-encompassing economic, social and political self-destruction, it couldn`t go about achieving such a goal in a more expedient fashion.
kinda strange that, no?
It’s a pity that reading your excellent blog means we have to swallow ignorant rightwing prejudice along with it. Censorship of Ukraine war reporting means that many people seek objective news wherever they can find it. You could create a genuine coalition of war critics if you’d discourage the know-nothing jibes.
Hang in there. We just have to get this war stopped. It’s bad for all of us.
As “having my skin in the game” I really wonder how Samantha Power and Co. will do with the Color Maidan project, after the almost continous pressure on Orbán governments since 2011, with a reasonably well informed population, which already resulted a higher win on last years Parlamentary elections for Orbán’s Fidesz party against a USA funded united oppostion, while the funding scandal is just blooming.
In the meantime, we Hungarians have to thank the alt media (Jimmy Dore, Redacted, The Dive) raising awareness on the other side of the pond.
The answer to the question in the title is quite simple: Poor education of the uS elite, which leads to poor understanding of how the economy works.
Hanlon’s razor is an adage or rule of thumb that states, “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.”
Quos Deus vult perdere, prius dementat (Those whom God wishes to destroy, he first deprives of reason)
“We already see clear evidence that China is not taking a “wait-and-see” approach.”
This is not new. China and Russia started working together seriously after the NATO/US/EU attack on Serbia and the seizure of Kosovo in 1999. If they needed an incentive to cooperate, Serbia was a Russian ally and the US bombed the Chinese embassy – the biggest geopolitical own goal since Hitler declared war on the US of A.
They understood then, not only that they were next, but that the only real instruments of Western power were in the air and on the sea. They saw that the key was missile technology, a speciality of the Soviet Union, to defend against air attack and eliminate the threat from the sea. They have been working on this with growing success ever since. They, especially China, have also helped Iran in this sector.
We see the results today, nuclear apart, the West is militarily a paper tiger.
Impetus for Chinese anti-ship missile program was mid 1990s Taiwan Strait Crisis, when USA bullied China into submission with aircraft carrier battle groups.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_Taiwan_Strait_Crisis
Or maybe earlier, maybe the “Opium Wars” taught the Chinese that they had to be more proactive….
They don’t forget the century of humiliation.
Victims rarely do forget who wronged them, whereas the bully goes through life not giving a thought to past it’s misdeeds and victims.
I am specifically refering to doctrinal use of anti-ship missiles as a counter to aircraft carrier battle groups. Theophilus was off a few years about the moment Chinese realised that they really need aircraft carrier killers.
Their attitude towards the incident was definitely shaped by the century of humiliation. USA added a small humiliation to the pile, and they did what it takes to prevent it from happening again.

“The West seems intent on starting a gunfight and is only now coming to the realization that its supply of ammunition is running out. ”
When your strategy for the gunfight is essentially a variation of Russian Roulette, you only need one bullet for your six-gun!
But when your opponent has a bigger gun, fully loaded, with a wagon load of ammo behind him, refuses to take his turn but politely insists, “We don’t have to do this, but if you really want to, try again”, what does a dumbf##k neocon do?
Larry, don’t worry about the US; german government has already happily declared to volunteer as a guinea pig. The dominating Green’s major incentive is the acceleration of their deindustrialisation agenda(same with the Ukraine war). They stress “human rights” in particular. I guess “sanctions” are primarily on their minds. https://www.reuters.com/markets/exclusive-german-economy-ministry-reviews-measures-curb-china-business-2022-09-08/
The sad thing folks, is that we are all here “Preaching to the Choir”
Larry ran a piece a while back that showed the deterioration of America’s urban life, with 3 video clips. I can’t get the one from Philadelphia out of my mind. Wandering around like zombies, hundreds of drug-addled people who don’t notice the filth they’re tramping through. These people can’t take their country back, they don’t even know they’re alive.
As for the MIS-educated, there is no hope with them. Like our deluded war-mongers operating the Deep State, they “…are more firmly wedded to [their] beliefs than they are to [their] wives.” (Attributed to Ben Franklin).
Sadly, many of those I count as friends are in this category, and NO logical, rational argument penetrates their reptile brains. They only know how to respond emotionally, and are quick to fight when they hear: “woke”, “Let’s Go Brandon”, etc.
So, how do we go about saving our American Republic? Not the CNN / MSNBC version thereof, but our true Constitutional Republic where the first two amendments in the Bill of Rights have primacy in our national life. Ideas please!

When you have a hatred for something that is so intense you don’t care about consequences or collateral damage to yourself or your allies.
You keep on doubling down until there are no options available.
That’s why I think there will be missiles jets and troops on the ground. Maybe even tactical nuke use.
Precisely because of that? We need them, they have them and God put America on Earth to own it. The whole lot.
Why?
Because that is what the devils servants do.
Evil can do no good or create anything meaningful.
They can only destroy, as their master bids.
The list of stupidities perpetrated by our elected leaders is long and growing.
Why did we export a large fraction of our manufacturing base to China? First we build them up to a super power, then we pick a fight with them.
I suspect it’s because international finance and corporations thought that China and Russia could be bought off for as little as US and Europe politicians. Instead they found out that some countries have leaders that take pride in their heritage and won’t be their lacky and tool.
Good interview with Sy Hersh from Consortium News:

Seymour Hersch is keeping his word: https://www.rt.com/russia/571690-hersh-ukraine-nato-corruption/
Betting on Ukraine victory was ‘suicidal’ – Seymour Hersh
The West didn’t even want Kiev in NATO because of corruption concerns, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist says
The US and its allies should have attempted to reach an agreement with Moscow as their belief that Ukraine can win a conflict against Russia is “suicidal,” iconic American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has argued.
Speaking in a YouTube interview with the Consortium News outlet on Friday, Hersh accused the Biden administration of making “so many bad mistakes,” adding that “it’s impossible to believe just how dumb this leadership was.”
“It was suicidal to think you can win that war, that Ukraine can win the war [against Russia]. There’s just too much corruption. That was a very, very bad decision. We should have been pushing for peace, we should have made an agreement,” the former Pulitzer Prize winner insisted.
US President Joe Biden basically “blew off NATO in Europe” by telling allies that he is backing Ukraine with its “totally corrupt government,” Hersh added. The journalist also pointed out how Kiev glorifies Stepan Bandera, “the great pro-Nazi who killed Jews like crazy during World War II.”
“It’s just silly not to right away assure the Russian government that we weren’t interested in making Ukraine a member of NATO,” Hersh stated, referring to long-standing concerns in Moscow. “NATO didn’t want Ukraine anyway because of the corruption.”
Hersh recently published a bombshell report which accused the US of sabotaging the Nord Stream pipelines last year. He cited an informed source as explaining that explosives were planted on the bottom of the Baltic Sea by US Navy divers under the guise of a NATO exercise back in June 2022. They were detonated in late September, rendering the pipelines, which were built to deliver Russian gas to Europe through Germany, inoperable.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, as well as Under Secretary for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, are all “very hawkish,” according to the journalist. The trio “pushed Biden very hard” to go ahead with the sabotage because “they have long-standing incredible hatred for [Russian President Vladimir] Putin. It’s almost personal, I would guess,” Hersh claimed.
US National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson branded Hersh’s bombshell report “utterly false and complete fiction.” The journalist has promised even more revelations on how the pipelines were blown up.
Even before you make API , you need KSM (Key starter material ) . This KSM is then refined / processed into API. India who is called world pharmasy still depends on China for these KSM. And dont bother about Antibiotics , China supplies it to world over. Because India was so relient on China , India started PLI (production linked incentives) scheme to encourage manufacturing of antibiotics and these KSM’s. Good luck without moderm medicines, but hey we at India do sell Ayuevedic medicines 🙂 .
Dear Mr. Johnson,
I know this is kind of off topic, but I would like to share with you the “spectacular” arrival of the Vice President of the United States of America, Ms. Kamala Devi Harris, in Munich to attend the MSC:

By the way, China is attending too (Mr. Wang Yi, also a fine diplomat):

It is totally rational to pick a fight with these countries if you live in the fantasy universe where the United States and NATO are able to dominate in any war. When they win, these essential resources become theirs forever. It makes total sense to me. You just have to think like they think. And why not? Look at how well they are handling the balloon attack!
This is all deliberate. It’s too stupid to be stupid.
The Bidenistas are being used to destroy the US from within. Of the two million military aged males who waltzed across the border collecting their free phone, how many are on mission? 1% could do fatal damage to our infrastructure while the feds look the other way.
Food production being destroyed, trains derailed, air, water and agriculture land poisoned, electrical substations being shot up. Its all planned and deliberate. Next cut off American industry from vital materials, deny the people medicines, (I’d be willing to wager that the precursors for the clot-shot won’t be in short supply, but insulin might)
Its a systematic take-down that would not be possible without the full cooperation of the feral government. This has been planned for a long time. Obama kicked off the project, Hillary Clinton was supposed to finish it. America’s coup-de-grace. Now its in Joe’s hands. The perfect scapegoat. He does what he told, has no idea what he is doing, if it fails he is the perfect fall guy. Joe gets burned while leaving the real villains skate to try again.
About the derailment:
The railroads keep derailment devices handy, RR maintenance sheds usually have a few handy. Certain track work requires the workers to place them on the tracks. They are considered to be safety devices. They are only a crowbar away from a bad actor. Late last year a container of 20 was stolen from a maintenance shed.
At times I wish #60 Andrassy was still operating. I’d like to host a nice welcome reception for Samantha & Co. in the basement.

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
18 All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.
19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.
20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
22 For I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the Lord.
23 I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the Lord of hosts.

Again the stupidity quotient of so-called Western diplomacy with the East Bloc appears absurd and idiotic. It is not; it is policy because it is destructive to the West and rendered by compromised governments. Again IMHO this is globalism policies at work. To interfere with pharmaceuticals imported from the East (and this will certainly eventually include India) will boost the death rates for those that need these drugs. That is the eugenics policies imposed by these governments.
Nuclear power and the industrial use of uranium and rare earths favour the policy of deindustrialization as well. By most standards of government behavior these policies appear idiotic, but they are quite logical when the globalists are defending their view of the greater good with their invisible but visible revolution known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The latter should really be named the First Deindustrial Revolution.
Larry writes a first rate description of the process of decline of the West, but again globalism remains unknown to the vast majority of the populations that are suffering most.

BREAKING. Your reporting of MonkeyWerx in regard to the NordStream case got traction with an article in the largest right-leaning online paper in Germany!
https://www.tichyseinblick.de/kolumnen/aus-aller-welt/verschwoerungstheorien-oder-realitaet-des-unfassbaren/
All of these articles by Larry are destined to be preserved in numerous academic treatises. I also agree with Alasdair Macleod and these excellent pieces: https://kingworldnews.com/the-world-is-hurtling-back-toward-gold-as-money/
and:
https://kingworldnews.com/gold-the-us-dollar-may-be-set-to-continue-rallying-together/
And here is another wrinkle given the influence of globalism on these events. The US should perhaps be seen as the centre of the spread of the revolution against humanity, and the move to get out of dollars and own tangibles by the elites of Davos can be seen from the insult of Covid mandates which grossly devalued the economy and property values. These assets were purchased by the elites at grossly reduced prices – like Bill Gates was purchasing agricultural land in the US; others were purchasing failed mainstreet properties in the increasingly less habitable cities of the USA.
The geostrategic element was also in play. Both Russia and China – and other Eastern or Global South entities began to grow rapidly as the newer world order as the US, in decline saw its dollar adversely affected too. Gold was attacked – all commodities were attacked in price. The US reacted by allowing the neocon faction in Washington to have their way in their war against Russia. To this end, and not forgetting China – the US attacked the Nord Stream Pipelines which was injurious to Russian trade with the fall of European economies, especially in energy, and also caused the loss of Chinese markets there.
Again I want to emphasize that globalism is largely unknown as a destructive political movement in the West. It is a nihilistic, ill thought out support of artificial exploited anarchy with the ludicrous goal of providing the entrenchment of Western elites in a new feudal oligarchical society. What I envision as the results, however, are the remnants of the elites in the end cheering their victory while standing on the trash heap of a destroyed civilization.
The “Military-Industrial Complex” term visibly displays how to reform its life-sucking evil. Divide and conquer.
Wonder why no one tries. At all.
You forgot to mention, Larry, Mexican drug cartels that were helped by the CIA and to this day by the DEA.
Clear indications that the US/EU are not making rational decisions…I’ve said it before…I’ll say it hundreds of more times I’m sure–we are witnessing Rome burn.
Glad you brought up commodities Larry…commodities warfare as a subset of economic warfare (or economics as an instrument of national power) is raging too. The myriad of new (non Western) trade and economic alliances taking root have common goals–the main goal being conducting trade in something other than the Hegemon dollar. The devaluation and collapse of the dollar as the world currency reserve/standard will take time but is well underway.
In the end it always comes down to food and water.
“Who controls money control the world.”
“Who controls the food supply, controls the people..”
― Henry Kissinger
…the same Kissinger logic can be applied to commodities like pharmaceuticals and uranium

The world’s largest battery factory is the Tesla Giga factory. The annual total output from this factory would produce 3 minutes of the annual US electricity demand. Even with 1,000 years of battery production, the batteries from this factory would produce only 2 days of US electricity demand.

Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia mine 57.83% of the worlds Uranium. Approx.
One thing that won’t be in short supply is Fentanyl.
Let us look at it from another angle, just for a laugh:
If (a big if I grant you) the USA is not run by idiots, morons and such beings then the reason for a conflict with China and Russia could be seen as an obviously necessary strategy.
The world is, like it or not being disemboweled and destroyed. Resources are being depleted. Up to now the USA could go where and when it wanted and gain access, one way or another to any resource it wanted.
It has been clear, following proceedings world wide, that this is not going to go on in this manner for the USA for long.
A ever compliant NATO has been adapting policy “to meet the challenges of climate change”.
So:- bring China and Russia to heel and grab their resources, then, the smaller countries with less of these will fall too. (The British tried this with China in the 1800s.)
USA then has control of all world resources and can act accordingly. Full Specter Dominance as planned years ago.
It is just a matter of how high the price for this wishful thinking will be.
Who will be the one paying the bill when the music stops is something completely different
Tom Friedman of New York Times praised globalization and warned the countries who don’t comply that the they will be ostracized from world’s financial system. He was on the globalization bandwagon early. Friedman is a smart guy and his books on the middle east are excellent. He was the Times reporter in the Middle East before he became a real rock star, Obama fav.. He pulled no punches on middle east. He was very fair.
His book on globalization(think “World is
not flat”) must be back a couple decades. Many in west seem to have lost sight of a manufacturing economy and what makes up guns, missiles, tanks, planes. The US and many of its allies think they can isolate countries-it is not that easy. There are lots of boats, captains and crews, people working at ports who want to make a buck. That is capitalism not some prick banker having lunch at at a country club in Connecticut texting another prick in the State department not to let shipments get into a port in the Black sea.
Tom Friedman ?
He’s a bloodthirsty war monger. Someday he’ll found guilty of war crimes just like Julius Streicher was.
Yep. A Friedman is a loyal member of the tribe. And employed by MOSSAD’s favourite mouthpiece the Joo York Times.
And Smart? Nah, cunning like a rat.
Larry I support and enjoy by far the majority of your posts. But your comments about hypertension show you’re not fully educated on its cause. Genetic hypertension exists and is a major root cause. I’m 6 ft 170 lbs and have had hypertension since I was in my late teens – never smoked, drank to excess or took drugs. You’re good at debunking most misinformation, but generalising never serves the audience well. As for the rest of the article, yes there are a lot of dependencies for health, electrical power, technology and many other aspects of daily life that could be drastically negative if the West gets in a more intense economic war with Russia, China and India. Our arrogance and ignorance will end in our demise. Best wishes.
Larry, AGITATE has only 1 G.
Off topic:
But for Sy Hersh, the Biden administration would have maintained plausible deniability.
This is how Biden rolls… plausible deniability.
It needs to come to an end.
Hopefully this is the start.
No more getting out of jail free cards.
“China is a global source of critical generic drugs and pharmaceutical ingredients…”
Reducing the huge amount of Rx drugs taken by the American people is a good thing.
As mentioned, most of these are generic drugs made in shady facilities in China and India and God knows where else:
“Production of generics has shifted overseas, where it’s harder for the Food and Drug Administration to inspect factories. Major companies have been caught faking and manipulating the data that is supposed to prove that drugs are effective and safe. Probable carcinogens have been discovered in the drug supply.”
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/18/opinion/drug-market-prescription-generic.html
In fact, Rx drugs are one of the leading killers:
New Prescription Drugs: A Major Health Risk With Few Offsetting Advantages
Few know that systematic reviews of hospital charts found that even properly prescribed drugs (aside from misprescribing, overdosing, or self-prescribing) cause about 1.9 million hospitalizations a year. Another 840,000 hospitalized patients are given drugs that cause serious adverse reactions for a total of 2.74 million serious adverse drug reactions. About 128,000 people die from drugs prescribed to them. This makes prescription drugs a major health risk, ranking 4th with stroke as a leading cause of death.
https://ethics.harvard.edu/blog/new-prescription-drugs-major-health-risk-few-offsetting-advantages
Imagine any other industry with a murderous track record like this not only avoiding criminal penalties, but thriving.
With creeps like Fauci at the CDC, it’s a free for all for Big Pharma, whose latest money maker has been show to be totally worthless (if not deadly):

Most doctors went along with the jab, just like they were told to. All that most of them do anyway is push drugs, which is why there is now talk of replacing them with robots:
Can Doctors Truly Be Replaced By Technology?
…with how quickly this industry is expanding, how much longer before developers find a way to transform these robotic systems from being dependent to semi-autonomous to eventually, fully autonomous systems? Is it really that difficult to envision a world where even complicated surgeries will one day be performed autonomously by a robot?
https://www.forbes.com/sites/saibala/2021/09/22/can-doctors-truly-be-replaced-by-technology/?sh=11f8cac14a83
That can’t be much worse than what we have now, because:
The third-leading cause of death in US most doctors don’t want you to know about
Medical errors are the third-leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer.
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/22/medical-errors-third-leading-cause-of-death-in-america.html
So by avoiding doctors and Rx drugs, you eliminate the 3rd and 4th leading causes of death in America – and probably positively impact the 1st and 2nd as well.

Russia found two Ukrainian spies in Zap. nuclear power plant.
Putin personally skinned them and ribbed them with salt.
Ahem. Sorry, wrong window.
Well, Russian occupants soanked them and through out. And that is when the story starts: Ukraine DID NOT allowed their busted spies in!
Those two found some other losers (totally seven devoted Ukrainians) and they somehow survive there between frontlines in some abandoned village, having only snow to eat, drunk and wash with. Day after day they go to Ukrainian check point only to turned back, because they did not proper international travel papers or something like that.
Delicious, just a delicious story!
Puerto Rico used to have a huge drug manufacturing industry. It was hollowed out because China was cheaper. So PR got the economic shaft to increase profits for shareholders and the US got to be dependent on China for pharmaceuticals. The smartest people in the room keep doing the dumbest shit from any perspective except what makes them and their friends the most money in the shortest possible time. The last bit is the real problem.
Rather than good economics for a part of the US that would be profitable just not as profitable, everything got sold off to China because it made money faster.
As dumb and ignorant as they certainly are, it’s wrong to conclude that the neocons aren’t thinking strategically, and double down on stupid simply because they are. Their strategic aim is not the tactical one of regime change in Russia. They aim for nothing less than the balkanization of Russia, which is the only way for US capital to be able to rape and pillage Russia’s fabulous riches. It’s not that the neocons don’t recognise that Russia (or China) could cut the US off from their raw materials, energy sources, etc, but they actually want to provoke it to spur balkanization as the only ‘solution’ to US capital’s woes.
The neocon bible is Brzezinski’s ‘The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy and Its Geostrategic Imperatives’, where the balkanization aim is spelt out explicitly. Just never forget that Brzenzinski was national security advisor to both Johnson and Carter, and that neocon thinking has a natural home, or womb, inside the Democratic party, the party of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The Russians are well aware of the neocons’ plans. Brzezinski’s books appeared in electronic form translated into Russian in the late 90s or early 00s. Many have read them.
Russians have a saying: don’t dig a hole for another, you’ll fall into it yourself. The saying reflects the karmic law.
There are no signs of impending disintegration in Russia. In Russia, the majority of the population are patriots. A patriot is one who perceives the defeat of his Motherland as a personal defeat, as a personal tragedy.

Larry: excellent article, but the document you just cited – https://bit.ly/3SduVII – is a bit dated (it dates back to 2019), at least from the Indian perspective. India has reduced its dependence on Chinese APIs to around 35% by aggressively supporting local manufacturing.
(Indeed, until around 2004, India was self-sufficient in API manufacturing, but fell behind since the then Congress-led government neglected manufacturing in favor of cheap Chinese imports. Just as successive administrations have been doing in the US.)
The US can follow India’s lead to reduce itself dependency on Chinese APIs.

In 2010, China restricted REE exports in a spat about a boat collision in disputed waters between Japan and China. REE prices went through the roof. The US and EU brought the case to WTO which ruled against China. Prices fell.
A decade later and the US bans the export of semiconductor to China “justified” by national security. REE are integral to tech products but also defense industry. Should China decide, again, to ban exports, it could do so “justified” by US military provocation and in “national security”.
In the US and Canada there are several small start-up REE mining and purification companies working to bring REE mining and purification back to US. This is already being subsidized by the US DoD and DoE. I call it REE Welfare. These companies will explode in value IF China decides for REE export ban. Some of us are invested accordingly.
This is not investment advice. I am simply betting on value changing relative to coercive state bickering. If there is an area where China holds extreme leverage it is in REE purification, +80 of worldwide supply. The metals are not rare in quantity but hard to extract from the dirt in which they are found. It’s dirty.
You did not answer your own question?
Implicit in your essay is the assumption that
1. USA Inc. is a sovereign country. PROBABLY NOT
2. USA Inc. or whoever is the decision maker is acting insanely.
PROBABLY NOT.
Applies to Euro Inc. also. I think the prime shareholders for both corporations are the same.
It sounds like the decision makers are steering USA Inc. towards a cliff?
Qui bono?
Qui modo?
The butler did it. And as we know, all butlers are quintessentially en….. .
Tell us what you think.
How many of the examples above are scenarios that have been allowed to happen internationally by choice? Does current state of production reflect the cheapest method or the only method ?
I thought the base ingredients of pharma had been found not in China or Asia but mostly South America and only the mass production was “China”
Same with rare materials for phone/computer/chipsets etc – whose source I thought was from Africa in current state but like materials can be found in other mining areas (Russia/Ukraine/even U.S.)
Is this argument one of loss of source or loss of mass production?
Larry, you and others here seem not to be briefed on the secret society angle going back hundreds or thousands of years.
Nor am I exactly sure how to brief any of you, since there is a lot of foundational knowledge missing.
So I will just briefly address some of the hidden underlying reasons why USA may be acting like this.
1. Operation paperclip nazis took over the USA and made it the 4th Reich
2. This also involves Majestic 12 and UFO reverse engineered technologies
3. Donald is still commander in chief of the Cheyenne mountain and Florida Mar a Lago loyalists, whereas Xiden is the second President. Donald’s title is 45th President. Not FORMER 45th President, the current one still in some respects. Thus the Left does not have access to much of the Pentagon’s forces or the nuclear codes.
4. This is a fight between Rockefellers vs Rothschilds (Germany).
5. Ukraine is the HQ Of the KHazarian Mafia. Further info can be found at benhaminefulford dot net
6. The US petro dollar requires some type of world reset, genocide, pandemic, or WW3 to maintain itself. THe petro dollar is BACKED by the US military aka NATO’s ability to threaten nations that refuse to obey, such as Libya. If the US military is shown to be a paper tiger, then the US petro dollar is in trouble. Thus even if they are losing in Ukraine, they will save face by winning vs what they perceive to an inferior opponent, China. Just like they thought RUssia was inferior. A short victorious war such as against Serbia or Libya is preferred. A 20 year old occupation like Iraq and Afghanistan, would be ideal.
7. Fear and loosch are not a means to an end, they are an end in of themselves. So them destroying the world or the food production, is its own goal, even if it had no benefit in resetting things.
8. They already tried this in Donald’s first term. Recall the Hawaii nuclear missile incident. THat was a real CIA submarine that launched a real missile that was intercepted by real reverse engineered technologies. There is an invisible war going on at the same time that there are visible rumors of wars (Ukraine) going on.
9. The CIvil War 2 is not between American political forces red vs blue. It is a civil war between the secret societies. The Gold line of Russia. The Jade line of China. And the Rockefeller/Rothschild oil and bankster line of EUrope and America.
So USA stabbing Germany in the back may seem like insanity, but not if you realize that the Rothschilds are beginning to surrender and become a liability. The 1000 secret society factions want to compete and fight each other to see who comes out on top, it doesn’t matter to them who gets blown up in the process now. It used to when they got together and “coordinated” their evil shenanigans, but this is 2022+ not 1922 or 1822 or 1722 any more.
What you all know of as “conspiracies” are just the surface onion layer. This goes a lot deeper than most can comprehend.
