Volodymyr Zelensky, Grifter of the Year?

7 December 2022 by Larry Johnson 128 Comments

A tip of the hat to The Asylum for nailing the meme. I had to check the calendar to make sure it was not April 1st when I heard the news that Time magazine named Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky Man of the Year. It also crossed my mind that the Babylon Bee was doing a follow up on its satirical cover featuring “Rachel” Levine as Man of the Year.

https://babylonbee.com/news/the-babylon-bees-man-of-the-year-is-rachel-levine/

The Babylon Bee was joking (I thought it hilarious). Time magazine may be a joke, but is dead serious in naming Zelensky its Man of the Year. The Asylum, to its credit, beat Babylon Bee to the punch in correctly ridiculing this decision.

https://theinmate.substack.com/

So, let’s take a test. Good luck.

Who imposed a ban on all opposition political parties — Vladimir Putin or Volodymry Zelensky?

The Eighth Administrative Court of Appeals in Lyiv, Ukraine ruled in favor of Ukraine’s Ministry of Justice on June 21 and banned the Opposition Platform For Life, the main opposition political party. All funds and property of the party were ordered to be turned over to the government, which is headed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Who shuttered all opposition media — Vladimir Putin or Volodymry Zelensky?

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj last week banned the opposition media news site Strana.ua and imposed sanctions on its editor-in-chief, Ihor Huzhva. Lawyers have criticised these measures for their “lack of legal basis”. This decision comes only six months after closing down three TV channels in early 2021. The European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) joined its affiliate in Ukraine, the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), in calling this extrajudicial action a threat to press freedom and media pluralism in the country.

Who closed down the Russian Orthodox Church and jailed priests — Vladimir Putin or Volodymry Zelensky?

The Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council decided on 1 December 2022 to “prohibit religious organizations affiliated with Russian Federation centers of influence from operating in Ukraine”, announced by President Zelensky while signing Decree 820/2022.

The “integral nationalists” had already outlawed the Orthodox Church during the Second World War.

The “State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience” (nice name for a racist concept!) was tasked with closing down the buildings of the Orthodox Church under the Patriarchate of Moscow. A dozen popes have been arrested so far.

These actions — reminiscent of the Soviet Union under Stalin — are no longer part of Russia today. Hell, President Putin converted to Orthodox Christianity. Not what you would expect from Hitler re-incarnated, according to legions of Putin critics. These tyrannical acts are the handiwork of the cocaine cowboy of Kiev, Mr. Volodymry Zelensky. Why is he doing this? Here are some possibilities:

  1. He is Jewish and thinks he is battling Palestinians?
  2. He is a short comedian and is compensating for his inadequacy?
  3. He is a frustrated actor and is following a script and playing a role hoping to snag an Academy Award?
  4. He is punishing the parties, the media and the church for disrupting his access to cocaine?

If the Association of Ukrainian Undertakers and Funeral Parlors had named Zelensky, Man of the Year, I could understand that. He has been great for them. Or, alternatively, the criminal organizations of Ukraine certainly had good reasons to celebrate Zelensky for boosting their bottom-line this year.

Speaking of absurd, have you seen the following video? It is first class satire. Clearly something that Zelensky is incapable of doing:

Sounds a lot like Nazi symbols from WWII have nothing to do with Naziism, according to Ukrainian court rulings.

Next Ukrainian court ruling: National hero Bandera butchering Galician Poles had nothing to do with their dying.

all of these actions by Zelenski look to me like desperation. He’s been living in a fantasy world and now it is clearly coming to an end. It’ apparent even to him that the Russians are not losing and when Nato said we’ll give you all the weapons you need. ..Let’s you and Vladimir fight it was really a trap for the Ukrainians. There were definite limits to the weapons the west was able or willing to supply and that limit has now been reached. I doubt that when the Ukrainian front collapses the neo nazis will allow Zelenski to escape to the west and his mansions to enjoy the wealth he has squirreled away. Looks to me like the Ukrainian Leprechaun is an endangered species.

We should all feel very, very sorry for President Zelenskyy as he faces into a future of erstwhile Washington allies – that inevitable trip to the graveyard. By this stage, he just may understand this.

As per a prior Substack essay where the good President is seen pouring over a military map, giving appearances to actually understanding something about it – doubtful . . .

“An obvious Madison Avenue public relations photo-shoot. Here President Zelenskyy examines a military map, displaying force dispositions – men and materiel for The Ukraine, including US-NATO-UK soldiers and Russian forces, as they understand it. President Zelenskyy comes with no education in military affairs, nor any direct battle experience, nor running a war against a foreign state. The Russian President does [have some of these]. This photo treats us as fools and is equivalent to a rank amateur studying a chess board, up against a chess grand master. The grand masters of real war? Russia and only Russia.

Zelenskyy transitioned from B-grade entertainer to high-stakes gambler in an existential war of state survival, while knowing nothing of it. Reported to be surrounded by MI6 and CIA “protection” to prevent that unpredictable lurch sidewards [his drug addiction is known], an easy thing when you are under much stress whilst Western Mainstream Media compare you to Winston Churchill, further evidence that we are treated as fools. Zelenskyy will hope to slink out of town like an out of work Actor of whose present gig audiences lost interest.

Problem. Some very important people are not happy with current outcomes, nor with him. The Banshees require sacrifice and somewhere out there is an empty body bag. Retiring to that sunny Mediterranean coastline off Tel Aviv to write his memoirs will not figure in their constellation of acceptable outcomes. At that moment, the AFU generals take over”.

There was a very funny 1970s British comedy series called The Goodies.

They were three Brits: a chinless wonder of an upper-class twit, a middle-class brainiac, and…… Bill Oddie.

Bill Oddie played Bill Oddie, and Bill Oddie was quite short.

Not really a problem, until they went to South Africa to get rid of the Apartheid regime which – being The Goodies – they managed to achieve before the first commercial break.

Only – oops – who is going to carry out all the menial tasks now?

Easy: they replaced Apartheid with Apart-Height, and the new underclass was now the short people. Which, obviously, included Bill Oddie.

Hilariously funny – and as it should be with good comedy – it was biting in its social commentary.

Poor Bill. The only cheerful one amongst the three of them, and therefore always the most downtrodden.

I put it down to his lack of stature….

Paulo Guerra, when you have Pope Francis comparing “Ukrainian suffering to WWII Nazi death operation”, and that “Putin is falsely claiming Kyiv is aligned in some way with Nazism”….. that should tell us civilization is in big trouble. The Pope is a man of God and should hear Gods “voice” (I’m assuming that would come in the form of some kind of intuitive gut feeling and knowing), and yet, he can’t even see through the dictatorship, lies, falsehoods and criminal acts of the Kiev regime. They’re bombing non-military targets and blaming it on the Russians.

I live in Western Cape, South Africa, and even A “nobody” like me managed to find the truth of what’s actually going on in the Donbas through a little investigation and an open mind.
This is the Popes biggest spiritual test at the end of his life (he’s 88) and he cannot see the wolf in sheeps clothing before him. He appears to have failed the test between good vs evil.

The pope has lost his faith, pure and simple. When we lose the belief that we are not in charge we try to build heaven on earth. We try to build a utopia here, and this pope has turned the Catholic Church into just another NGO to accomplish this. The Church is deep not shallow with a message for all: love God with your whole heart and trust in His mercy, pray and love others as you love yourself.

Popery is NOT Christianity. Never has been, never will be. God’s pure Word, the 66 Holy Spirit-inspired books of the Bible (King James Version best) very clearly defines for fallen, sin-cursed mankind what Christianity actually is. (As does such outstanding Reformed creeds as The Westminster Confession of Faith, the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dort.) To understand just how much blood the “Church” of Rome has on its hands, one need only to read J.A. Wylie’s classic works, The History of Protestantism and The Papacy. Most of the curses that have fallen upon mankind can be traced to the spiritual ignorance and darkness of Popery. Popery has been as a cancer upon the American body politic, and is largely responsible for America’s fatal decline into a brutal brand of secular humanism and paganism. Popery is Satan’s MASTER COUNTERFEIT. It’s his wholesale methodology for taking hundreds of millions of people down into Hell with him. (There is NO such thing as “Purgatory” — one of MANY fatal lies of Roman Catholicism — only Heaven or Hell awaiting each one of us at the end of life’s road.
Anyone reading this should read William Hogan’s two books — Popery and Auricular Confessions and Popish Nunneries. (Hogan himself was a former Roman “priest”.) Also: For a quick crash course for learning about the dangers (to your soul) of Roman Catholicism, I would suggest your listening to The Roman Catholic Radio Debate with Ian Paisley (it’s only thirty minutes long).
Finally, what Christianity actually is, is Justification by Faith ALONE by the GRACE of God ALONE. The great Protestant preacher Charles Spurgeon summed it up best: “Calvinism is the Gospel and nothing else.”
I write these things as a formerly blind and ignorant Roman Catholic. Here’s the link to the Radio Debate. It’s well worth the listening to:

I am Catholic and I assume Francis’ POV has more to do with the struggle between the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and the Orthodox than it does with reality on the ground. It’s not the first thing that this pope has been dead wrong about and I suppose it won’t be the last.

Most of the trad Catholics on Gab, et al., fully back Russia.

I’m a Catholic in good standing (daily Mass/rosary and weekly confession). I back Russia 1000% and pray for Russia and her soldiers daily.

I abhor the Holy Father’s reckless statements regarding Ukraine (including his denigration of the Chechen and Buryat peoples— whom I love). I have no idea why God chose Francis at this point in history but I’m sure it’ll be clear a century or two.

One of the most figures in American Catholicism was Venerable Fulton Sheen. Sheen was popular in the 1950’s and 60’s and while a harsh critic of communism was also an unabashed Russophile and prophetic and said that one day Russia will return to her Christian roots and become a pure fount of Christianity.

Our society was already in trouble long before this conflict. There are many types of slavery and neoliberalism has nothing more to offer the world. But I agree with Arias. And respecting all opinions, he was making a great papacy. With the Church on the side of the weakest as it should always be! I’m not even talking about religion. I myself was brought up in the Catholic faith but I left the religion many years ago. Even at the beginning of the conflict, the Pope did not immediately fall to the side of Russophobic propaganda. The Pope even blamed the conflict on NATO enlargement and warmongers! And I myself have people in my family, super enlightened that I always considered politically to say the same as the Pope said now and to support the West that provoked this conflict.

We should not belittle a disinformation campaign the likes of which no one has ever seen. And that will not stop even with the West already aware of the military defeat and asking for negotiations. Everyone needs trump cards at the negotiating table. And even the Russian economic strategy in this conflict which I fully understand is at risk from the desperation of the Ukrainians this winter. It won’t be pretty to see and there are limits to what current society can stand to see!!! And freezing to death goes far beyond these limits. And Russia is just attacking military logistics. The damage you are inflicting on the infrastructure is minimal and recoverable. Russia, if it wanted to with regard to both the conflict with the Kiev regime and now with the infrastructure, would destroy both in 24 hours. Russia wants to implode with NATO and the EU and that was impossible in a short war. I always had to go through this winter with a lack of gas in Europe.

But all long wars are very risky. Let the US say so. There are limits to what people today can stand to see. Even for those who support Russia since february!
Important citizens and nations such as China and India are essential for Russia to overcome economic sanctions. We’ll see. I believe in a short-term ceasefire. But Russia has to have iron balls. The West plays very dirty! And we still don’t understand why Europe bet everything on its economic suicide. We only understood well the objectives of the US and Russia, which had to defend itself against the US attack. As for the behavior of Europe, there are many theories! A few days ago, Alastair Crooke, who knows EU diplomacy well, said that the EU was promised the continuation of cheap Russian gas after the fall of Putin. But the EU already had that with Putin…

And it will leave everyone unsatisfied, which is never a good thing. Those who think Russia should conquer all of Ukraine and those who think Russia shouldn’t even have Crimea. But the truth is that Russia, in addition to the consolidated Crimea and resolved the situation in Donbass, now only wants to see NATO out of Ukraine. And it is Russia that will dictate the terms of the ceasefire. I myself confess that I would like to see the end of NATO and the EU, at least refounded! As for a multipolar NWO, it is not something that can only be played in a conflict. It’s already on the march and it’s unstoppable. But we’ll see.

The Western whores, also widely known as MSM, have always been, well, whores of the Zionists, the US State Department (or the Brits before them, when the the Brits still meant something).

In 1938 one of these whores, also known as Time mag, selected Hitler as their “man of the year”:
          https://www.history.co.uk/articles/time-magazine-s-most-surprising-people-of-the-year

Any wonder now it is the jew-neo-nazi’s turn?!

As for the Popes — they are also well-known supporters of neo-nazism and genocide. The best known and the most explicit one was Pius XII, who embraced the rise of Hitler to power and wholeheartedly cheered Hitler’s plans to exterminate Orthodox Christianity followers in the East:
          https://www.amazon.com/Hitlers-Pope-Secret-History-Pius/dp/014311400X

So, the current Pope is simply sticking to the long-standing tradition of supporting genocidal maniacs, if they are involved in raping and murdering non-Catholics (though Catholic priests themselves don’t mind raping children, even if they are Catholic, it seems).

So, nothing new under the Sun, just the West being the West.

    Zelensky Grifter of the Year?

No way. I give the award to Angela Merkel. Her only intent in brokering Minsk II was to ‘buy time’, knowing full well Ukraine would try again to take Donbass by force. She grifted Minsk II and then pushed the grift onto the Security Council who unanimously passed UNSC Res. 2202.

Merkel described the September 2014 Minsk agreement as “an attempt to give Ukraine time.” France and Germany had brokered a ceasefire after the failure of Ukraine’s attempt to subdue the republics of Donetsk and Lugansk by force.

“Ukraine used this time to get stronger, as you can see today,” Merkel continued. “The Ukraine of 2014/15 is not the Ukraine of today. As you saw in the battle for Debaltsevo in early 2015, Vladimir Putin could easily have overrun them at the time. And I very much doubt that the NATO countries could have done as much then as they do now to help Ukraine.”

Help Ukraine to do what, Merkel? YOU started this war, you dimwitted, grifter Kraut. YOU and YOU alone.

Hindsight’s always 20/20 but imo it wasn’t necessary to go beyond the Donbass in 2015. Russia could have recognized Donetsk and Lugansk referendums and their secession and moved forces there to guarantee their safety. That would have been a move more easily swallowed by the western public and Ukraine’s mass-remilitiarization by NATO would likely have withered slowly on the vine.

Now though, Merkel’s admissions coupled with Poroshenko’s that Minsk (and UNSC Res 2202 after it) were never legit and only designed as a subterfuge to gain time may be the true game-changer in this war, and not to their benefit. No one likes to be fooled, tricked and lied to. They even used the UN as a patsy, to give the subterfuge gravitas. It’s a natural human reaction and people naturally lash out at it. MSM will have to go into overtime to hide the facts and counter the effects on westerners, imo in vain.

re: “the time to destroy Ukranazistan was 2014”

Russia was not in the same position militarily and economically in 2014 as in 2022. I also think they still had the idea that they could do business with the west. Witness Nord Stream 2.

The main reason Trump was so mercilessly vilified was that his unexpected* 2016 election threw a giant monkey wrench into the U.S./NATO plans to use Ukraine AT THAT TIME to break up Russia into manageable chunks, for domination and exploitation. If Hillary had been elected we’d have been at war with Russia almost immediately. As Tulsi Gabbard correctly noted, she is “the Queen of the warmongers”.

        God works in mysterious ways.

*Trump’s unexpected election in 2016 played into the whole Covid scam (SEE: Event 201 and Whitney Webb’s reporting on “Dark Winter” at https://unlimitedhangout.com/). Part of the reason for it was to implement lockdowns and force widespread mail-in voting, which is ripe for fraud. We now see how Twitter and other social media platforms were used by the deep state to suppress any news that might damage the REAL grifter of the year, Biden. With Biden’s “election”, the plans to go to war with Russia were back on, but now several years too late as Russia had vastly improved militarily and economically.

The economic balance was more in the West’s favor at the time (since then both Russia and China have become economically stronger while the West has deliberately weakened itself). Consequently, unleashing the full-on economic war on Russia in 2014 may well have had the outcome the West wanted.

Would the Russian populace have been as solidly behind Putin as now? Russian economic collapse would have destroyed Russian military efforts. In addition, Russia appears to have strengthened its military position relative to the West, particularly in terms of stand-off weapons, both in quality and quantity, which reduces the number of your own side who die in the conflict.

It’s the total joke of the slapstick Orewlian dystopia the West fell into with the disinformation campaign in MSM. Pure Russophobic propaganda that many people in the West don’t even realize the ridicule they fell into after 10 months claiming that Ukraine is winning the war?! In casualties and dead for sure! A comedian who played President on a sticom who, after becoming President in real life, where he stood out the most was in the Panama Papers! Which conveniently do not appear on the cover of Time.

But at a lower level of civilizational ridicule because with puppets we cannot even speak of civilizational decay, Obama was Nobel Prize just for not being called Bush?!?!?! When it didn’t even know all the rooms in the White House. For not even the biggest promise that led to the Nobel, such as closing Guatánamo, to be fulfilled!!! On the other hand, it was with Obama in the White House that we witnessed the greatest increase in the “operational art” most ignoble that the world has ever seen. Which says a lot about the character – or lack thereof – of Obama. The US President who was most seduced by sending death by drone thousands of kilometers away. Probably more hygienic for him with no casualties and collateral casualties in the 3rd world be damned! Typical morals of the first Anglo Empire! “If the Association of Ukrainian Undertakers and Funeral Parlors had named Zelensky, Man of the Year, I could understand that.”

    Indeed.

Scott Ritter, in his most recent interview with George Galloway, believes the figure for Ukraine servicemen killed in action is now in the neighborhood of 250,000.

Also, Ritter reports that 320,000 Ukrainian wives and mothers Ukraine servicemen have signed a petition asking the Ukraine government to provide them with information about the status of their loved ones that have gone missing at the front.

So, some more random KIA numbers for everyone, and yet another unsubstantiated report that Ukrainians are fielding an army that is mostly filled with ghosts, that can no longer write home.

What does this mean, veracity wise? Who knows.

I believe the average Macedonian citizen in 329 BC was quicker to know about the ever changing status of Alexander’s army and its men, as they fought their guerrilla campaigns in Afghanistan, than we know about what’s going on in Ukraine today.

It’s a small world they tell me. Well if it is, it’s never been a less enlightened one.

“Grifter of the Year,” is being too polite.

You’re talking about a failed state that has run on wanton and open criminality, graft, and corruption for generations; at least since the Ukraine was the problem of the Soviet Union. Now a failed state is being run by a cross-dressing, midget, coke addict. That’s an improvement. [sarcasm]

At this point, I think we are just going to have to let this insanity play itself out.

My only hope, going into the Christmas Holiday, is that we can get there just before Russia drops five (5) 25-megaton nuclear bombs on Washington, DC. In no particular order, first on the Pentagon, then the FBI, then the CIA, then the US Capitol Building, and then the White House.

I know the total destruction of Washington, DC will “unleash the whirlwind” in the rest of the country — warlords, large scale looting, unheard of levels of bloodshed, murder, and mayhem, the taking of life on a level Americans have never experienced — but better things be ghastly for a little while, as opposed to ghastly for forever.

Smedley D. Budler, from War is a Racket

“I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested. Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.”

“When I suggested she was a Yankee stooge”

Larry certainly knows about the topic more than I do but in Nov. 89 while the German from the East and the West celebrated their reunification a determined group of American men (CIA) raided the HQ of the Stati and left the building with the entire archive fund of the political police.
Among the documents were the lists of Stati informants and some people say the name “Kasner” (Merkel’s maiden name) was on the list. In other words some people say Angie ratted on “subversive” students during her University years.

Remember that Angie wasn’t an Eastern German, she was born in the West. It’s her father who took her family in the GDR. Dad was a pastor but strangely he became very close to the East German hierarchs. Wasn’t there some kind of deal?

Dad was a pastor? Guess little Angie slept through the Enlightenment.

She’ll now go down in the anus of history next to Madeleine Albright, saying – it was all worth it.

Come to think of it, wasn’t her subterfuge with the sham Minsk II very similar to Albright’s subterfuge at Shambouillet? Indeed it was.

Indeed, she reminds me of a miss goody-two-shoes, who’ll bow to whoever happens to be in the real driver’s seat, content on riding co-pilot, snitching along the way.

Of course she barely complained when her phone was tapped, realizing that it was only her minders checking up on how well her lessons are coming along.

My apologies to all who’ve already pointed this out. I didn’t have time to read very many comments today.

Adolph Hitler was named Time Man of the Year in 1938
It was widely acknowledged that prevented him from receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.
This year, a Ukrainian “human rights organization” is one of three co-recipients for said same
The West has degenerated into pedophilia and Satanism/Luciferianism.

I will be forever haunted by the 90 second video of the RF officer describing liberating a Ukrainian organ harvesting operation.
    It was filled with children.

The West’s admiration for Zelensky and his regime is a terrifying sign of what the leadership have in plan for all of us.

Worth sending to the local 25-something year old gym junkies. The woke chicks who are obsessed with their toned 15% body fat bodies ; the abs the thighs.

Their newsletter is always looking for interesting body news. I shall call it, “slice of life from gym too the fly pan.”

Or “woke chick, pulled pork.” Cannibalism is regularly reported in German police reports. Could explain the submissive and weird Foreign policy. Plus a steady supply of undocumented illegal immigrants.

For the life of me, just can’t figure out why Milosevic wasn’t Time’s person of the year in 1999.

Guess he just wasn’t brutal enough and failed to shell Pristina for eight years. Lesson learned.

You need to lay off that Washington Kool-Aid. Albanians were islamic terrorist and criminals back then, just like they are now. Times should have made some some Albanian leader the terrorist of the year, and give you free subscription.

“He is Jewish and thinks he is battling Palestinians?”

No less motivated for battling ethnic Russians. This is certainly not the first time we’ve seen that particular brand of ethnic hatred manifest, both in the early days of the Soviet Union and with the rise of neoconservative ideology. The American ruling class used to at least acknowledge the humanity of those living under the Soviet regime. Ever since Madeleine Albright declared Cold War II with the objective of seizing control of Russian resources in the late 1990s, coincident with the sanctions and bombing against Serbia and Iraq, we’ve been seeing something much darker than classic Cold War I anticommunist paranoia. So tell us, Madame Secretary, if 500,000 dead Iraqi children are “worth it” for the objectives of that campaign, how many dead Russians are “worth it” for the much bigger geopolitical and geoeconomic prize?

About Larry C. Johnson

I am a bona fide Son of American Revolutionaries. At least 24 of my ancestors, men and women, fought to free the American Colonies from British rule. Some died for the cause of liberty. Though two and a half centuries have passed since my great grandfathers and grandmothers took up arms, the principles they fought for remain valid and relevant to the 21st Century. This blog is dedicated to the pursuit of truth without regard to partisan advantage. I welcome like minded patriots.
