Let us call this Russiagate 2.0. According to the Washington Post (albeit a discredited newspaper but a reliable shill for the Washington political elite), the FBI was looking for nuclear documents in the Presidential collection Donald Trump stored at his Palm Beach estate. This speaks to the frantic desperation of the anti-Trump crowd, especially the corrupt officials that infest the leadership of the FBI and the Department of Justice. They used this ludicrous pretext to obtain a search warrant with the help of a credulous cretin of a Judge, Bruce Reinhart.
U.S. federal agents were looking for documents relating to nuclear weapons when they searched former President Donald Trump’s home in Florida this week, the Washington Post reported on Thursday.
Having failed to produce any evidence that Trump was working with good old Vladimir Putin to destroy America’s democracy with Russiagate 1.0, the anti-Trump crowd apparently has decided to trot out another Russia-tainted meme, the ultimate red herring, to portray Donald Trump as a 21st Century Dr. Strangelove. We now know the truth. Donald Trump was trying to build a nuclear weapon in his wine cellar at Mar A Lago.
What did he intend to do with that Bomb? Well, if you are going to adopt the mindset of the Washington glitterati, he was going to sell it to Russia. You see, Russia is a backward, technologically inept country and was counting on Trump to give Putin the nuclear secrets that would make it possible for Russia to conquer the world. What judge in his right mind could refuse to authorize a search for such deadly secrets?
I think we now know why the FBI was pawing through Melania Trump’s lingerie. They apparently had intercepted Trump telling his wife that she looked like a nuclear tipped cruise missile in her red Teddy. Of course the FBI had to assume that was code word for something far more nefarious. I initially assumed that the FBI spent so much time handling and sniffing Melania’s panties and negligees because, as members of the Secret J. Edgar Hoover Cross Dressing Club, they were looking to upgrade their outfits before their next Monkey Pox rave. Boy, was I wrong.

Why would Trump keep nuclear secrets locked away with his other papers? That would be crazy. The Donald figured he could hide the damning documents by taping them inside the lingerie. Brilliant, huh?
Maybe Trump held on to the nuclear codes because he thought he could use them to play the Power Ball or Mega Millions lotteries.
What this whole episode shows us is that Kamala Harris is no longer the dumbest member of the Biden team. Nope. That honor goes to Merrick Garland. He apparently believed that this scheme would discredit Trump and elevate Garland as the Clausewitz of the Biden Presidency. I do believe that Warner Brothers may be filing a copyright infringement lawsuit against the mad Attorney General for adopting a Wile E Coyote plot. Garland strapped himself to the tip of the missile before activating the fuze that ignited the rocket. He failed to recognize that he would be riding a political nuclear bomb to his own political demise. Maybe he is just a secret admirer of Slim Pickens and wanted to recreate Pickens’ iconic moment in Dr. Strangelove:

Alright, back to serious. Trump may be right that someone may have planted a document related to nuclear weapons or nuclear technology in the boxes he had locked up. That does not incriminate Trump and is no crime. The prosecutors would have to show that Trump instructed someone on his staff to put such a document in one of the boxes. Trump may be a lot of things, but stupid and reckless are not how he became a billionaire and beat the dickens out of Hillary in 2016. Is there another Alexander Vindman lurking in the shadows keen on helping create a pretext to discredit Trump?
If Trump really was trying to hide such information why would he have instructed his attorneys to negotiate with the National Archives on getting an agreement to return the records to the Feds? In fact, if he had mens rea, do you really think Trump would keep something so figuratively radioactive on his estate?
Merrick Garland, despite his Harvard education, is not a smart man. He signed off on a warrant rather than send FBI agents to ask Trump and his lawyers if he had such documents in his possession. Had he done this, and Trump lied about it, you would have a new Michael Flynn type case on steroids. Lying to Federal Agents is a crime unless you are former FBI Chief Andrew McCabe. Instead of doing the reasonable, lawyerly thing, Garland chose the nuclear option. I think it will come back to haunt him.
I sympathize with a lot of what you say, Larry, here and in your previous column but I would be inclined to go easy for the time being. I am not American so I don’t have a view in this but I know that Garland gave a press conference in which he stated that he signed off on the warrant because he believed that there was probable cause that they would find whatever it wsa they were looking for, which the warrant specifically mentions. Trump was handed a receipt for what they found. The AG has asked the Court to unseal the warrant and the receipt but the Court might refuse if the unsealing is contested by Trump. Whatever it is they found might or might not be evidence of wrongdoing on Trump’s part. Whether or not there are grounds for laying criminal charges has not yet been determined. For all I know, the charges that you bring against the Dems and their controlled media may well be absolutely true and we know what they tried to do with what you call Russiagate 1.0. I have no doubt that they are terrified of Trump. But I suggest that we wait a little longer to see how this plays out before bringing out the heavy artillery.
From the movie Tropic Thunder, “Never Go Full Retard”….
Love everything about Larry except when he gets onto the subject of Trump, what a choice, Trump or Biden – both are hugely damaging. I’m not an American either – in reality the rest of the world hardly gives a f*** about what happens to Biden or Trump, only that the US finally elects somebody younger and without any ties to either…at least 50% of the geriatrics in the House and Senate need to retire and allow some fresh new blood into the fray – the sooner the Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump, Biden era is over the better place the world will be, and the sooner the US might be admired and respected again.
I understand your reservation about Mr. Trump. Although he played a role on TV as the shrewdest businessman in the world when it comes to identifying and selecting talent, his performance as President on that count was abysmal–Mattis, Miley, Wray, Sessions, John Bolton, etc. Yet, despite fighting those headwinds, he still managed to pull back on US military adventures overseas compared to his predecessors and tried to keep promises he made. His outreach to North Korea should have earned him a Noble Peace Prize. And he made sincere efforts to promote peace in the Middle East. America and the World was in a better place with Trump than with are with Biden. I’m interested in your counter argument.
Larry,
While I agree with most of your assessments of president Trump. One thing I would dispute, however. That he tried to bring peace to the Middle East. What President Trump actually did was to go along with the Israeli plan headed by Jerad Kushner. The Israeli plan would have stripped the Palestinians of whatever they have left, which is very little.
The squid in me says stow caution mate, and enjoy the comic relief!
Thanks for the early morning chuckle bump Larry !
Trump immediately demanded that they unseal *everything*, including the *affidavit* used to obtain the warrant.
As US litigation lawyer Jeff Childers explained in his substack this morning, the warrant will only show the judges instructions & parameters around the search.
The “receipt” likely will be general, (eg 1 laptop with Donald jrs name on it). Again, nothing showing cause.
The *affidavit* provides the reasons for the search, the evidence they say they have & what they expect to find.
Given the history of the fbi, who lied about the ridiculous, invented Steele dossier, the affidavit should be a real gem.🙄)
I agree. No need to go nuclear in your response here, Larry. Let the Justice Department slowly hang themselves — they’re doing a marvelous job at it. It’s important to keep you feet on the ground when everyone else is losing all sense of proportion. You’ll end up being the only one left standing.
Uhm, we can’t just trust anything our government does is legitimate anymore, especially in regards to Trump.
How many hoaxes do we and him have to go through to realize this?
Larry Johnson referenced Vindman. Vindman is a LT Col in the US Army. His Commander in Chief, his ultimate boss, was President Trump.
What does it say about our government in which an officer of our Army, an 0-5, LT Col feels it is just fine to fabricate evidence to get his Commander in Chief impeached? What does it say about our government when Vindman explained that his Commander in Chief was going against the “Interagency,” his word, not mine?
That just 1 of many incidents that have shown without a doubt that our government cannot be trusted for anything.
This last raid on Trump’s residence is just part of a long train of abuse.
There’s absolutely no reason to soft peddle any analysis or critique of the Biden administration, AG Garland, or any other person or arm of the federal constabulary, as they leak like a sieve to the media to plant allegation after allegation, discrediting Trump or other persons at their will–time after time. Every single time.
Wait a little longer? A day? A month? A year? 23 months, as with Mueller’s contemptable “investigation”? Rebutting the headline on the front page of the WaPo with a never-mind “correction” on page 23 next week.
You might as well recommend everyone roll on the ground in a fetal position while waiting for the feds to find something–they’ve been looking for 6 years.
Heavy artillery? Larry was being nice, introducing humor. Nuclear weapons are called for…
I am torn between this is absolute desperation and absolute insanity or both. There are no words sufficient to describe my anger and disgust at this horrid display of just what the Democrat party is about. And yet morons keep voting for this. What does it take to wake some people up? The only bright side is that now Trump will be wholly justified in sending a cleaned up DOJ and FBI after the Democrat party as a whole.
We are not in normal times. Garland must feel he runs no risk pursuing this course. History is full of characters like that. They all did not survive unscathed. I thought Erdogan(sp.) made an interesting comment recently that the US(political class and diplomats) would in past get people on same page to pursue the best course(pragmatic does not mean it was a What Jesus would do) given the variables(complex, contradicting). He said those days are gone. The USA(and England) really had brilliant, ethical people at the right time. They had their warts surely. Today, Garland and others-they are warts.
When and where did Erdogan say this? You need to add the link to understand the full context and give proof to your statement.
Hilarious… DOJ raid on Mar-o-Lago because Trump still has nuclear “papers” or material. I read that as the actual codes. Sooo… a Q-conspiracy still exists that Trump retained the codes instead of giving them to the Biden admin! Also, another coincidental timing… now that Russia is entering Alaska ADIZ with nuclear capable bombers. Either one of two conclusions are possible, both make the current administration look like fools:
1. They fell for the Q conspiracy. Or
2. They can’t find the codes after scrambling scared after Russia entered the ADIZ.
But, we still await the real truth. Anything they say, believe the opposite.
I am certain the codes are changed daily or at least frequently. The nuclear protocols would not allow for such a thing as you suggest.
What US needs is an American Putin, to clean up the Augeas’ (Washington) stables. This is a Herculean job, and Trump does not have the required stamina.
BTW I like Trump, he did not bomb some poor country to keep his job.
The guessing game and the “it’s unbelievable,” is over. The Democrats, the woke nutters and sexual deviates have totally lost their grip on reality and sanity.
The US Government at every level is suicidal.
Israel needs to consider who’s going to supply the free money and weapons when the collapse arrives. Their enemies are waiting, in the north.
If they kill Trump then 2024 does not happen and America is torn apart.
Trump lives and Trump wins in 2024 what happens then?
This time Donald read the small print in the damned resumes! I recommend old timers and grunts with guts and never turn your nose up at truckies , hard hats and rough necks.
Funny post, but I really don’t get it. The Marxists are going to do whatever they want and say whatever they want. No one is going to stop them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just come out and state that Trump is a traitor and was preparing to sell nuclear codes to Russia, or some similar nonsense. The Steele dossier had Trump urinating on Russian prostitutes. They ran with that. So why not run with nuclear code horror stories? The gloves are off as far as the Marxists are concerned. It’s we normal Americans that are floating around in the pot as the temperature slowly increases toward boiling, trying to be reasonable and rational, discussing what the hand that periodically adjusting the stove top the dial is all about and whether or not the water is getting warmer.
The Marxists hate Trump – and they hate us. So they will destroy him and everyone associated with him, by any means. They will be aided and abetted by the media and by RINOs. Traditions, norms, rules, decency/etiquette and laws don’t count. If they are caught red handed in the conspiracy to do so, media and by RINOs will spin and do nothing. And we will boil some more. Period. Full stop. They’re going to do this right in our impotent faces. They get more of a high doing it that way. It demonstrates their absolute power over us and their utter contempt. It’s a bonus rush to them.
Buying into false labels and dichotomies serves the deep state agenda of divide and conquer. This is not about economic systems, capitalism or communism or political parties, DemonicRats or Repugnicans or race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. This is class warfare. The 1% want the 99% dead and will use bio-engineered disease, poison vaccines, starvation and war to accomplish it.
Do you mean Groucho?
Dam! That’s an accurate assessment in my humble opinion
It is possible that Hunter already gave them to Ukraine and China and got the 90% They need to get out front of it because it might be on the laptop.
I think you’ve found the secret weapons to destroy the self important petty tyrannical fools that presume to rule us, scorn, mockery and ridicule.
A question for the American posters here.
Why the US president has to that old, 75+, and that witch who went to Taiwan is 81.
What is wrong with them just playing with their grand-kids and great-grand kids.
Forget about FBI, tricks and pony shows.
I think this is plain elderly abuse.
This doesn’t fit here, Mr. Johnson, but you may like to know it, comment on it (unless you’ve seen it already), Baron posted in on another blog, hence the short explanation what the guy says for those that don’t speak Russian:
Some new evidence has emerged, but doesn’t fully resolve the question what or who did it, the one thing’s certain, the butler it wasn’t (apologies for the flippancy, this incident could have very serious consequences)
Below u can see satellite pictures of the airport four hours before the explosions and then after when the recuse efforts are in full swing, according to the guy reporting on it there were altogether 16 fighterjets parked, nine 130s and seven Su-24s, after the explosion seven of the sixteen machines are totally burnt fully, the others look inoperable as well.
At 7:50 the guy marks the places of the three explosion in red squares, he then circles the explosion also in yellow, then goes on commenting on the damage, at 9:28 he shows the rescue vehicles removing the debris in yellow, at 9:50 he concludes that at best the loss is three 130s and four SU-24s (all seven marked in yellow), at worst all sixteen machines are destroyed.
At 10:45 he challenges those arguing the disaster was the result of a sabotage, marks a place in a red square, says a huge hole close to the roll-out to a runway, asks what could have been stored there, it would need a truck loaded to the full to produce such damage, at 11:19 he shows a picture of an object before the explosion, says he doesn’t know what it was, it’s overgrown with grass, the explosion happened at the edge of it on an asphalt surface, how could a sabotage take place on such a place, he asks, then he moves to another place of the explosion (11:50, red square) shows at 12:08 how the place looked before the explosion,
At 12:23 he marks the three explosions in yellow and says he cannot rule out a missile attack, it could be ether a sabotage or a missile attack, he finishes saying that’s all the info he has, it may not be something many want to hear, but truth is more important than anything else to correct one’s mistakes.

Just as a short time observer of the war, I think the Russians will correct and make up for their mistakes and shortcomings. They will avenge the sabotages and damages inflicted in the South. I assume they haven’t gone after those shelling the nuclear plant for the sake of civilians. In due time they will dispatch the enemy in the South. Right now they are kicking the Ukrainians’ butts in the Donbass and barbecuing as many troops as possible, thousands. Ukrainian newbies are choosing life and deserting, rather than being transformed into hamburger.
I subscribed to his youtube channel. For others you can translate the cc by a few clicks.
It doesn’t work on all youtube channels
I would imagine Merrick Garland imagines himself to be a modern-day Lavrenti Beriya, but Beriya was nothing without Stalin. Do we have an American Stalin in the White House or hiding in the wings?
The problem with this escalation in American politics is that the next change of political control invites retaliation. I have some doubts that Mr. Trump wanted Madame Clinton locked up, but he was also likely counselled to not push for it to avoid the political crisis to which it might lead. Mr. Biden et al have decided to go there.
“Sauce for the goose” is now in play.
So Donald Trump was said to be hiding nuclear documents in the wine cellar of Mar A Lago. The FBI tried to find the message in a bottle, but ended up releasing the genie out of the bottle.
But on a more serious tack: Are the Democrats afraid that the Russians and Chinese are still not knowing where exactly the US has stored its nuclear weapons (including the submarines), and that Donald Trump is willing to sell this information for a few de-dollarized bucks to them? Are the Democrats afraid that the ultimate weapon in possession of the US is as useful as a Javelin or a m777 howitzer? I guess that the real skittishness behind this ‘nuclear document’ Watergate 2.0 is the growing uneasiness in the Pentagon about the true effectiveness of its ultimate deterrence weaponry.
I have been dealing with the difference between static Western duality and dyanamic duality for some time. The static duality assumes the alleged duality of black and white, good and evil. Dynamic duality assumes reality of time continuum. In Ukraine we see the difference at work. What does this tell us for the future of human existence? Including the ideas of Schwab and the WEF consultant Yuval Harari?
Within the Hispanic community of Miami, among us the opinion is firm that the Cuban secret services (DI) have strongly penetrated, once again in its history, the FBI. The Cuban community in the USA is, together with the Jewish community, the most powerful ethnic minority in America. His [DI] specialty is creating objective conditions of subversion and intelligence. Destruction of Trump’s reputation smacks of DI.
The warrant was never intended to uncover evidence. The warrant and search were intended to send Trump a message.
The fact that the pretext underlying the warrant is absurd is itself a separate message, that message being “We don’t care about facts, law, logic or basic commonsense as we hunt you down.”
And I am as far as one gets from being a Trump fan, but we are well on the way to being Brazil, except Brazil has better weather, more attractive women, and a less hyperbelligerent foreign policy.
My brief, superficial comments are that the government-owned media are acting as Garland’s and the Administration’s press secretaries, fully complicit. I am hearing the media painting Garland as a conscientious constitutionalist trying to force the cooperation of a recalcitrant, devious “last President” (Trump) who is obstructing justice, as he tries to hide all of his past sins. The deep state is going for broke.
“A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons,”—Hilary, 2016
Again, the not-so-hidden hand of Hillary at work. The woman who, as a member of CFIUS, turned over 20% ofvour uranium to Russia, has been scaremongering about Trump, Russia and nukes fir the better part of a decade.
It is my understanding that US law allows the US President to declassify any information he chooses, except nuclear secrets. The head of the Department of Energy is responsible for declassifying those.
These facts become important when contemplating the claims that Trump took classified documents with him when he left the Whitehouse. Simply put, Trump can say he declassified all of the information he took with him prior to leaving the Whitehouse. In other words, the government will never be able to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt in a criminal case, that Trump did not declassify all of the government information he currently has in his possession.
But this doesn’t hold true for nuclear secrets. The president can’t declassify those. So in order to convict Trump of the crime of mishandling classified information, they must find what are arguably nuclear secrets in his possession. That’s the reason for the search of Trump’s home for supposed nuclear secrets. Not that he would sell or give them to any foreign country. It’s to use them to gin up a criminal complaint that Trump mishandled classified information.
Wrong. All classification, including nuclear “secrets”, can be declassified by the President.
They’re saying it doesn’t matter if Trump declassified the materials, because his violation was disobeying the Espionage Act. But that ignores how the Espionage Act, if so limited the President, is unconstitutional for violating the president’s powers under the separation of powers (as well as being unconstitutional for various other reasons).
What’s the legal basis for your claim that the President cannot declassify nuclear secrets? If it’s an act of Congress, wouldn’t having it limit the President’s powers as commander in chief violate the separation of powers?
Atomic secrets?
My children spun better lies when they were four.
It shows how ignorant (in some cases willfully) and/or gullible the Democratic Party base is regarded, apparently rightfully so by its leaders, that this sort of laughable and latent excuse after days of criticism for the FBI raid – even from some leftist corners – was proffered. How many failed attempted coups and dead end investigations triggered by “anonymous sources” and promoted by The Usual Suspects have to take place before the MSM stop trotting out the same corruptocrats (e.g., former FBI liars Peter Strzok and Andrew McCabe) for comment?
We’ve seen this movie before and it’s a joke to anyone other than rabid, butt-hurt members of The First Wives Club, Hillary Clinton chapter.
Thanks, Larry, you have nailed the utter stupidity and panic of these clowns.
For anyone wishing to get deep into the weeds of this farce and fraud, Sundance has done a lot of work on this and presents in four parts.
It is very much into the weeds but part four seems to come down with a conclusion as to what these clowns really were looking for and the panic that is driving them. Be forewarned, that the site is very much pro-trump but aside from that, he does have detail:
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/
This is a serious threat to National Security! That’s why the FBI waited through month 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, (boy isn’t that a lot of waiting when National Security! is at risk?) and on through month 13, 14, and you’re all beginning to catch on? Not to mention that FBI Director Christopher Wray testified to the US Senate – under oath – and of course didn’t ask for a closed session to discuss NATIONAL SECURITY! but had to cut short his testimony to fly to an important event – vacation. (using a government plane no less.) That was only 1 week before the NATIONAL SECURITY raid to discover ‘nuclear documents’ that are apprently also kept in the National Archives. (Was the “confidential human source” that provided the ‘probable cause’ to get the warrant named “Steele”?)
This is beyond the lying Solzhenitsyn told the world the Soviets were capable of. Thank the Lord that Biden the Great, having been tutored in leadership and ethics by the wonderful Obama, is leading the USA and keeping us all safe.
Well played friend. You sarcasm is spot on.
May be that Trump will have a government in exile. The elite will never allow him to run for President again. But his power with his supporters in out out of gov. would seem to be enough to overthrow the elites. But this would be Texas hold’em, and Trump will have to go “all in” This will be the only way he will ever regain power in the US. Trump and is supporters will have to hang together, or they will hang separately. I just hope I can get my family back to the Philippines before, if the civil war begins.
They could place anything in those files after they got to HQ and added that to the inventory. I do believe that Merrick Garland and his ilk believe that they can control this event with press releases going into prosecution of Trump. I am not saying Trump is guilty, I am saying they think they can get enough public support to prosecute him and energize their base going into 2024.
Trump was moving toward building a Presidential Library and that would require some give and take as all presidential archives are place in the Library for study. At least that is how is is supposed to work. Where is that angle in all this commotion?
We are heading into a major crisis with the prosecution of Trump by these ill conceived peddlers of bullshit.
Eugene Debs was allowed to run for president in the 1920 election, even though he was then in federal prison, convicted of violating the Espionage Act. He ended up getting more than a million votes.
A) Russia probably has better nuclear weapons tech than we do. Most of the warheads in the US arsenal are decades old. Nuclear modernization in the US has been at a standstill for a long time.
B) Some story about nuclear war codes ? Wouldn’t you expect those codes are changed pretty frequently ?
C) We are supposed to give the DOJ a pass because there might be incriminating information coming out later ? BS – Just like Jan 6 – I don’t care what evidence they will claim to find – its the moral equivalent of a lie. We are living in a proto-Nazi state. Our best and only hope is a complete collapse. Those agents who participated will claim they are just following orders. They believe they are the good guys, but they are not
When I last dealt with TS, every single hard copy was numbered, and there was control authority with records of where every copy was and who had control of it. If that’s still the case today, since someone knew where the copies were, why did they wait?
Second, if Trump declassified documents, then grabbed them for storage, but those documents were then later declared classified, where do we stand? Things changed for the worse under Obamanable, and I suspect that’s what’s going on here. Many of the classified Wikileaks docs are still considered classified regardless of whether they’re in the public domain or not. But Trump’s control of them is not public domain. Regardless of these regulations, the entire security state gravy train needs disassembled.
“Garland chose the nuclear option. I think it will come back to haunt him.”
I don’t know about that. Swamp creatures are just that; created by the swamp, and for purpose. Garland’s history is a sordid one and dates back to and before the Oklahoma City bombing. So, he’s been loyal Clintonista for decades. We all know the only way to harm this sort of ‘creature’ is a self-inflicted wound, one serious enough to trigger Arkancide. If Garland is found garroted, I mean, hanging from a doorknob with a belt around his neck and 2 holes in his back, and his death declared a suicide, that is the only way we’ll be free of Merrick.
Larry is great = very intelligent with a very credible (incredible) background that is needed here.
Washington “glitterati” (perfect!!). Their claim to fame worthless Ivy degrees in social sciences and their holy grail to be appointed to the board of the Kennedy Performing Arts Center.
” The Democrats, the woke nutters and sexual deviates have totally lost their grip on reality and sanity.” hahahahaha another solid gold comment.
The nuclear secrets is the kind of unbelievable idiocy that Ukraine puts out. I’ve often thought if Ukraine would tone it down a bit their lies would not be so obviously fake. This is the same. It exposes their utter stupidity.
Hi Larry,
I’ve been reading your posts for a while. Thanks for suchh quality information.
About this text, i have to compliment you for the good humor in the first part. Lol!
I’m not a Trump’s fan really, but I got to admit. The world was much safer with him in the White House than with the current administration.
I still think he’s gonna be back. I believe all this movement against him tends to have the opposite efect that intended. All this FBI investigations and big scenes reinforce his popularity.
Keep the good job!
Sorry ’bout my english, i’m brazilian
mutuo obrigado.
Let’s look at the chronology of events…
In October 2021, Trump sued the January 6th Committee in an attempt to block it from getting records from the National Archives.
On January 19, 2022, the National Archives announces its intention to turn over Trump White House documents to the committee.
On January 20, 2022, the Supreme Court dismissed Trump’s attempt to block the National Archives from turning over the documents.
On January, 31, 2022, the National Archives obtains Trump documents that had been ripped up and taped back together.
On February 7, 2022, the National Archives discloses that Trump took 15 boxes of White House documents to Florida and archivists went to Mar-a-Lago to retrieve them in January. (The Archives had known since May 2021, the documents were missing, but Trump’s people had dismissed their inquiries.)
On February 9, 2022, the National Archives requests that the Department of Justice investigate Trump’s handling of White House.
On February 16, 2022, the Archives discloses that some of the missing 15 boxes contained classified material.
In April and May 2022, the FBI interviews Trump aides on the missing White House records.
On May 12, 2022, a federal grand jury is convened to investigate whether Trump mishandled classified documents.
Sometime in May, the feds served Trump with a subpoena for classified documents had refused to turn over.
On June 8, 2022, federal agents go to Mar-a-Lago to investigate the missing documents. While there, they tell Trump’s aides to padlock the room where the documents are held.
August, 8, 2022, the FBI serves Trump’s people with a warrabt and executes a search for the missing documents at Mar-a-Lago.
