I do not miss the days when I was welcomed to appear on Fox, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, etc. Those appearances were the equivalent of drive-by shootings. Five minutes of sound bites. No chance for any substantive discussion.

please read Ron Unz’s recent post on “Why everything you know about WWII is Wrong” , pay attention to this IZ organization . This explains every move of Nato and others etc in Ukraine and elsewhere. It’s the power behind this IZ that is very dangerous because they think they are unattainable.

That bit, on the Duran, you starting the conversation with Empire here Imperialism there, had me audibly weezing. The dudes are bending backwards avoiding these types of words harder than Richard Wolff is with marxist verbiage.
One aspect I would like to add there, is that mysterious “de-industrialistaion” you are talking about it’s the consequence of the total financialisation of neoliberal capital. As Michael Hudson extensively wrote about in Killing the Host.
Alexander did mention production vs costs, which is why I bring that up.
It’s not some invisible hand or ze graue Emminenz at ze ssree-letter-lotsch in Davos. It’s simply more profitable to relocate production to low cost countries in the periphery, but I suppose spinning up tales are more comfortable than spreadsheets or acknowledging rent-seeking behavior.
May I suggest a stronger and/or faster internet connection. Your thoughts and insight are extremely valuable and insightful. You are constantly breaking up during the majority of your remote interviews making it difficult to hear what you have to say. This seems to be a recurring issue when you’re interviewing remotely. Please correct this issue so that we can hear all of your valuable words of wisdom.

Is anybody here a technical expert on video streaming? In particular, a video streaming product called Streamyard? I believe that is what Larry uses.
These hangs with Larry’s video feed are distracting.
Streamyard is the problem. I don’t have those glitches on Zoom or Skype. I’ve added boosters for the network and shutdown all other systems that could use the wifi. Still get the freezes. Very frustrating.
Why does the Duran do 2 hour broadcasts?

There is a lot of good material out there, much of it from you Larry. And the two Alexes are smart. But hey – I work one day a week – I don’t have time for 2 hour broadcasts.
(Watching a lot on the Judge now precisely because of the time length).
Indeed. 40 minutes at 2x is my limit too. Work to do.
My solution is to watch on YouTube (using Brave browser – no adverts) and use the settings wheel in the video player to speed-up video by 1.25 or even 1.5 times.
2x and subtitles. But who has time to lose an hour a day? 20 min interviews @ 10min 2x speed would be great.

Listened to the Duran talk during my walk in the woods yesterday. The Allis Chalmers reference gets me every time as a guy who remembers these old tractors from my youth. As everyone is focused on Ukraine something came up on my Chinese Spy App (aka TikTok) Saw a speech by El Salvadorian President Bukele in Parliament. With your background on Latin America is this guy legit? The hyper focus on China and Ukraine by the neo cons is this giving these smaller countries a chance to make changes flying under the radar? Or is Juan Guaido going to be resurrected? Time to dust off Elliot Abrams to work his magic. Thanks for the education and alternative voices on geopolitics.

The one thing that annoys the crap out of me is that the moderators or interviewers, in particular Chris Mathews on mnbc, they would ask a question and want you to give an answer in less than two minutes. But the kicker was that they will spend more time on the question than they give for the answer. Chris was the worst he would go on with long question that obviously requires a thoughtful answer and expect a sound byte. Obviously not a serious host
