When it comes to imperialism — i.e., “the policy, practice, or advocacy of extending the power and dominion of a nation especially by direct territorial acquisitions or by gaining indirect control over the political or economic life of other areas” — the United States and Europe are quick to label Putin as a rabid practitioner who must be stopped or else he will conquer the world.
This is lazy propaganda on the part of the West and it is a bullshit accusation. Putin is an old school nationalist and an Eastern Orthodox Christian who eschews the Soviet Communist legacy. Since taking power in 1999, Putin has not led unprovoked conquests of adjacent territory. Russia’s military engagements with Georgia in 2008 and with Ukraine are a direct result of U.S. and NATO interference in the region.
But the U.S. and Europe persist in describing Putin as Stalin reincarnated and a man hell bent on imposing Russian sovereignty over the world. This just a 21st century version of the Domino Theory. It is Domino 2.0 and Putin is the new Vietnam. The truth of the matter is that the U.S. and Europe are bona fide imperialists and are ignoring Putin’s actual record. Instead, the West is engaging in gross hypocrisy and psychological projection — attributing to Putin what they themselves have done and are doing.
Here are some recent examples of the imperialist meme the West is pushing with regards to Putin and Russia:
Many observers quickly picked up on one of Putin’s more provocative lines, in which he compared himself to Peter the Great, Russia’s modernizing tsar and the founder of St. Petersburg – Putin’s own birthplace – who came to power in the late 17th century.
“Peter the Great waged the Great Northern War for 21 years,” a relaxed and apparently self-satisfied Putin said. “On the face of it, he was at war with Sweden taking something away from it… He was not taking away anything, he was returning. This is how it was.”
Foreign Policy magazine, an establishment mouthpiece, pushes the same meme:
Mikhail Mamedov, an Azeri by birth who fled Russia in 1996, offers an unintentionally ironic perspective on Russian imperialism:
“Russia’s concept of empire was different from that of the Western powers. Russia did not possess ‘distant colonies’ but expanded across its borders into the depths of Eurasia. It had a better opportunity for the closer integration of native and Russian nobility into one body.”
Did you catch that last paragraph? Mamedov apparently has not studied American history. If Russia is an imperialist because it “expanded across its borders” and exerted authority over adjacent territory, then what is the United States? Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California were not independent free states who voted to join the U.S. They came under U.S. control thanks to the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which officially ended the Mexican–American War and “required Mexico to cede 55 percent of its territory including the present-day states of California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, and most of Arizona and Colorado. Mexico also relinquished all claims for Texas and recognized the Rio Grande as the southern boundary of Texas.”
After sixty years of failed foreign military expeditions, the political class in Washington, D.C. clings tenaciously to the childish notion that if you can just get rid of the “bad man” you can usher in a political utopia. Just consider the list of villains the United States has targeted in repeated bids to change governments and create “democracy or eliminate terrorism, etc. How have those worked out? Did it make the world safer? Is the United States more secure?
- Mossadegh, Iran
- Arbenz, Guatemala,
- Castro, Cuba
- Diem, Vietnam
- Mao, China
- Noriega, Panama
- Saddam Hussein, Iraq
- Bashir Assad, Syria
- The Shah, Iran
- The Ayatollah Khomeni, Iran
- Osama Bin Laden, ???
- Vladimir Putin, Russia
I am amazed that so many so-called foreign policy experts adhere to the magical belief that eliminating a leader will provide a political solution that favors the West. Just listen to Hillary Clinton pleading for the Russian elite to eliminate Putin:
The notion that getting rid of Putin will neuter Russia and make it an obedient serf of the West is profoundly stupid and myopic. Just because people like Clinton and Biden insist that Putin is a dictator in the mold of Stalin, it does not magically transform delusional belief into reality.
The Latin American Information Agency (ALAI) shares my scorn for the West’s double standard when it comes to portraying modern Russia as an amalgam of Nazi Germany and Stalin’s Soviet Union:
The main Western governments and media outlets question Moscow’s incursions while justifying similar actions carried out by their own camp. The deployment of troops in Ukraine, Georgia or Syria is presented as an unacceptable act, but the occupations of Afghanistan, Iraq or Libya are interpreted as routine events. The annexation of Crimea is categorically repudiated, but the appropriation of land in Palestine is warmly welcomed.
This hypocrisy is combined with implausible allegations that seek to frighten the population. They describe a gigantic Russian power with immeasurable capacity for harm. Moscow’s manipulation of the US elections through infiltrators and algorithms has been the most absurd accusation in this campaign.
Every diabolical conspiracy is attributed to Putin. The media often portrays him as the embodiment of evil. He is depicted as a despot rebuilding an empire that rests on brutal methods of internal totalitarianism (Di Palma, 2019). Comparisons are never made with the lauded plutocracies of the United States or Europe, which enforces validation of the domination exercised by ruling elites.
Why should you care? If the West persists in demonizing Putin it is creating potentially insurmountable obstacles for future negotiations. This approach makes a diplomatic solution virtually unattainable and is likely to increase Putin’s doubts that the West can be trusted to uphold any agreement short of unconditional surrender.
Hillary says it’s about democracy. So the country where the president’s approval has never been above 45% is lecturing the country whose leader is approved by 80% of his countrymen about the importance of governing according to the popular will. Check.
Yup, I completely agree with you on that one. And, for them to portray Putin as the ’embodiment of evil’, they ought to take a nice LONG look in the mirror, then keep looking, then look some more (oh! maybe glue their noses to a mirror???) until they start to see they’re projecting what they’ve been perpetrating on the world themselves as full-on embodiments of evil themselves, not Putin.
Attacking the Nordstream pipelines was an act of war on Germany & parts of the EU.
Another act of unbelievable evil on humanity was the frickin’ “vaccine” shots (NOT!!!) all for greed, power, control, and their frickin’ global depopulation plan which is causing untold deaths & injuries world-wide, another Nuremberg, & not just in Germany & Europe, but the whole world.
Then, more recently another despicable Act of War on the peoples & creatures in Ohio & wherever that monstrousity of a mushroom cloud of dioxins & other environmental toxins floats to before it starts dropping & settling into waterways & soils, affecting countless farmlands & destroying lives & lifestyles (ie. the Amish).
Rant over…
Why did Larry leave out Milosevic in his list?
PS: By the rules-based order’s rules shouldn’t he have been hailed like Zelensky?
The annexation of Crimea is categorically repudiated, but the appropriation of land in Palestine is warmly welcomed.
What about the secession of Kosovo by violent means?
What about all the extra-constitutional unilateral secessions of the Yugoslav republics?
All supported and encouraged by the West. The time for secession may have come but how they dare not say the same for Crimea and the Donbass?
PS: Britain foremost has become a bona fide asylum for the insane. Be forewarned; that nation above all others will end up driving the West head first into a nuclear conflagration.
Well said
Oh Jeezus, give it a rest. Yugoslavia in 1999 was 1000 Ohios and more at NATO’s hand. Do some research before going off the deep end.
Biden will probably be back in the White House in 2028. His only opponents are the incompetent Republicans. But even then. He will be gone in another 4 years. And in the period after? Putin and Russia will still stand. Assuming we are not a smoking nuclear wasteland of course. And Xi will still run China.
While our plutocrats stand up our two choices, that they graciously allow us to choose between? They do come and go. And of course, the plutocrats come and go.
Russia actually has a thinking political class. And continuity. Which is something the USA has appeared to lose. As has most of the West. Scholz. Macron. Whoever the UK has this week. Trudeau. Biden. Dear God. Have you ever seen a more insipid list of incompetent bitches? And our Senators and Representatives? A group of hucksters grabbing every dime they can with no thought of planning or consequences. Or of any National pride or destiny.
I read a description of Russia once. You remember the old hand cranked grinding stones? That you sharpened axes on? It had mass, and once you got it going, it would rotate on and on. That is Russia. It is huge. It takes forever for commands to get from one end to the other. But once you start spinning it, and it starts to gain momentum? It does not want to stop. I fear we have cranked the handle. It would have been better to have left it alone.
“Biden will probably be back in the White House in 2028. His only opponents are the incompetent Republicans.”
My prediction: Trump will let the Democrats steal the election again, but this time it gets thrown to Congress. That’s why he is giving Mitch McConnell a tongue-lashing and creating the optics of them hating each other. I don’t remember what the exact procedure is going to be, but Mitch is going to have to make some decisions which are going to look a lot better if he hasn’t seen as Trump’s crony.
McConnell is a jellyfish- no spine. I would say snake but at least snakes have a backbone however flexible.
The Democrats will absolutely steal 2024 and the Republicans will absolutely do as much about it as they did 2020.
Yours is basically the three D chess game I once thought Trump might be playing. After all, he simply couldn’t be THAT stupid, THAT careless? Surely there had to be a method behind the seeming madness of appointing a witless warmonger like John Bolton. It took a while but I finally learned that things really were as bad as they appeared.
Now, chastened by this experience, I understand that the only real justice available in today’s world is in the form of a Kinshal missile headed west.
“I understand that the only real justice available in today’s world is in the form of a Kinshal missile headed west.”
And you have to ask yourself has it come down to that?
In the name of recompense
That first hypersonic missile should have Washington DC name on it.
Google scrubbing comments or is that you, Larry ?
Curt and Mr. Johnson – the original book starship troopers by robert heinlein is an interesting read. In it according to an ex-marine reviewer i read once ; the bugs are the collective communalist horde with no soul.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starship_Troopers – written in 1959
In the book america had gone to pot. The old military veterans eventually said enough was enough and came out of the workwork to reestablish law and order. They created a new society which then eventually went on to fight the bugs.
just did a search on bitchute and found this interesting. The bp guy has been a guest on gonzalo liras show. the discussion starts at the 3 minute 45 second mark.

Russia, however anyone wants to color her, is a necessity in this world.
Despite all the abuse by Western so-called “leaders” the Russian people will stand their ground, but they are not about retribution to innocents just because crazed, greedy and corrupted “leaders” have painted themselves into a corner.
Biden’s manufactured ‘popular will’ is rushing down a one-way dead end street with a cliff at the end.
Odessa 2014: One beaten demonstrator says he’s for a Ukrainian federation, while the mob calls to kill all Russians, burn them alive (apparently all Russian-speaking Ukrainians are Russians and even all communists to the fascist, er sorry – ‘patriotic’ mobs). One cries, “We have to kill them or Donetsk is next”, thereby guaranteeing that Donetsk was next. Ironic, isn’t it?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxcB0PI4ZLg
That bastard Lenin and his German enablers really did a number on the world, when among his many deeds handed over the Donbass to Ukraine to placate Ukrainian communists. Ironic once again, isn’t it?
Boy, that Nuland sure knew how to exploit an opportunity.
Hillary is into Hate Speech. Of course, “hate speech” of this kind depends on a compliant media to rationalize and validate it. The fact is that since the Puritans, Americans have needed some form of the Designated Evil to justifying their wars and killing. Putin therefore must be the Great Satan. And Russia, Hell. Back in 1945, the West planned a nuclear war on Russia when they had enough bombs. Fortunately, for Russia, it got its own bomb before the Americans could do it.
https://julianmacfarlane.substack.com/p/media-hate-speech-a-rant
Hillary is a monsterette. The real monster is the media.
Sadly, if Biden was retired to a farm, nothing would change, either. Well, nothing for the better – the national embarrassment quotient would rise under Pres. Kamala’s cackle.
On the other hand, I would appreciate it if someone in Hillary’s inner circle did to her what she proposes so I would never need to hear her voice again.
Agree. The neocons own it all. Politicians, media, finance, insurance, and industry. The only thing that will stop these greedy bastards is the end of the dollar as the only reserve currency. When that happens, watch how fast the rats leave the ship.
Sadly, if Biden was retired to a farm, nothing would change
A vegetable farm, no doubt.
This is a very good interview I found as a link in Alastair Crooke’s posted latest article:
Germany’s political elite has subordinated itself to US geopolitical strategy. Why and how explains Wolfgang Streeck in this interview
Wolfgang Streeck is the Emeritus Director of the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne, Germany
“Germany will from now on, unlike in the past, act in line with a view of the world as divided between “the West“ and an evil empire, or better: several evil empires, from Russia to China to Iran, the list waiting to be expanded. (There are also various in-between empires, like India or Brazil, which we will have to get to take our side.) Between us, the virtuous empire under American leadership organised in NATO and the various evil empires, peace is possible only temporarily and intermittently, and only as long as we enjoy military superiority. In principle we and they are at each other‘s throats. Real peace will require a regime change making an evil empire part of our virtuous one, as a result of its conversion to “our values“.”
http://www.defenddemocracy.press/wolfgang-streeck-virtuous-germany/
It is much much worse than that. Germans have an ability to blank out that which they do not wish to confront – in themselves. This Volksverhetzung against Russia is the pinnacle of Historical Revisionism whereby UK and US and France have joined Germany in the fight against Russia – 1941 – the reification of Rudolf Hess mission to Scotland.
Germans – NOT ALL – but the elites if such mediocrities in the Berlin Republic II (Weimar was really The First Berlin Republic) – can be so called, want to make themselves the stars in the new pantheon…….but in cowardly German form…….hiding behind US protection.
They are too stupid to comprehend US and UK are manipulating Germany into conflict with Russia to deconstruct EU and render it subject to NATO. German politicians are despised in the country especially in the former GDR which is far more pro-Russian than Americans would ever comprehend. It was 50 years experience and knowing the Russians were never as Stalinist as the Berlin regime under Mielke’s Stasi.
Most of Western “Conservatives” needed USSR to define themselves post-1917……….since the Cold War ended “Conservatism” has imploded and ceded ground to Lunatic Liberals deconstructing society without resistance.
If you want to understand Ukraine – google “Konrad Adenauer Stiftung” the CDU Foundation funded by taxpayers and how Merkel sponsored the Klitschko twins – and how 500 groups were funded in Ukraine – and how much Germany was in the vanguard in destruction of Yugoslavia and Ukraine – just as Sarkozy toppled Khadaffi in Libya to cover up the €50 million Khadaffi gave him to fund his election victories
Yep. Everyone is shocked about the idea of Germany sending tanks and fighter jets, like it has not already been done. They were directly involved in destruction of Yugoslavia (for the second time), and are now moving on to Russia, just like their grandfathers did.
Germans are even worse sheeple than Americans. I remember watching a 60 Minutes piece run a month or so before NATO’s bombing began in ’99 about one particular German freelance ‘journalist’ that was staging fake Serbian atrocity scenes re: Kosovo in Munich’s outskirts and selling the footage to German media, who kept asking for more and more. He couldn’t keep up with demand and I couldn’t believe 60 Minutes ran that piece. It’s long disappeared from their archives of course but I saw it with my own eyes.
Germans are many things, but they are not dumb. Being under occupation made them docile for a while, but the moment they feel strong it’s back to same old Deutschland uber alles. Of course they will eat up all the nonsense about “savages being savages”, because it makes them feel superior, and justifies their desire to “civilize” all of those untermensch. Seed of Nazism can not grow without specific kind of fertile ground.
Germans are many things, but they are not dumb.
Nah, I don’t believe it. It took the Russians to cut the Reich Germans’ balls off and save American lives and now it’s the US that exploits the Deutsche eunuchs against Russia. Just look at Scholz, for God’s sake. The chosen runt of the litter.
Ironic, isn’t it?
“Germans have an ability to blank out that which they do not wish to confront – in themselves.”
True, but this is also a quality in all humans & some are much better at it than others. Since we “evolved” from hunter-gatherer societies, our egos no longer need to stay alert to danger from larger animals than are preying upon us. So our egos transitioned to staying alert to different kinds of danger for our survival, ie. emotional & social dangers. Now, we are prey & being hunted by our own species on a whole new level in much more insidious & evil ways.
No Linda. You are incorrect. You clearly do not know the German mindset. Did you know that in the GDR there are Soviet war cemeteries with headstones ? In West Germany the Soviet POWs who died of starvation in German camps were interred in mass graves in the woods with no markers. Under the T-4 Program of Euthanasia the US Occupiers forced Germans to issue corrected death certificates and mark the graves of those gassed and cremated – and the babies of Ukrainian slave labour which were killed. In 1950s German authorities simply let wild spreading flowers cover all the graves so they “disappeared”
You know that the doctors at Buchenwald who did “vaccine” experiments in inmates went on to have medical careers postwar in West Germany ? You know that the drafter of the Nuremberg Race Laws 1935 Hans Globe became Adenauer’s right-hand man post-1949 and was the reason Eichmann had to be silenced at his trial ?
Did you know that Eichmann was found thanks to a Jewish DA in Frankfurt called Fritz Bauer……….who was later “suicided” for that transgression ? Mengele – they knew where he was as he was receiving money from the family agricultural machinery business – and even renewed his passport in 1955 in his own name !
Do I need to go on. Ignorance makes people so broad-minded which is why the regimes today want to help you “think” the right way.
Oh, and Hans Globke was such an embarrassment that Israel blackmailed Adenauer into funding the Israeli reactor at Dimona………..
I agree with all of what you said, Germans from that era were very evil & the collective trauma & denial runs deep…
But, evil nefarious characters (not really people anymore as far as I’m concerned due to their actions but still look like a person, but inside no) here in the US paid to move a lot of those Nazis here, protected them, funded more genocidal research, & I’m sure have done things we’ll never hear of… I’ve read several articles (articles which I had bookmarked on my now dead PC but have been trying to import them with no luck so far, from a USB to my new, for me that is, PC) & so am currently unable to paste the links here. That Fauci is now & really ought to be moved to the top of the list of the top 10 psychopaths bypassing Mengle for his actions by funding GOF research, biolabs in Ukraine which got moved to there once it was banned here in the US, his part in the current global depop program, experiments on children, & beagles, etc etc.
IF & WHEN those crimes of Fauci, the NIH, & the rest of the underbelly of the swamp ever gets exposed & comes to light (plus the WHO, UN, NATO, etc) for their crimes against Humanity. I suspect the collective trauma & denial from Americans from a very long list of nefarious psy ops (ie, just a couple of the recent ones such as 9/11, covid & the “vaccine” shots) going back many decades & many generations will cast a shadow over Germany’s mindset.
there is only one evil empire: U$ANATO.
This is a must read to understand West and why they won’t quit and remain united.
I’d just add – Wealth, as usual, if a huge factor this article des not get into – the former colonial powers have united to maintain their colonialism via orgs like IMF/WB/USAID and USA acting as the heavy. I don’t think Russia/China quite understands what’s it’s up against because if they did they’d cooperate like West does.
The West, particularly the USA, but Germany too, are particularly blind to the fact that they themselves are at the centre of all their problems.
A few observations:
1) The west is very afraid of the simple fact that people in USA or UK are going to look at what Putin has done for Russia in the last 20 years and compare that to what the likes of Biden or Boris Johnson have done for America or UK in the last 20 years. When this understanding reaches critical mass, well…. So, the media/establishment tries hard to discredit the image of Putin and the target audience is the middle class male/female in America who pays taxes, health insurance etc. and increasingly gets more of nothing in return with a giant “f*ck you, just ’cause we can” served along side of the nothing.
2) The west’s strategy against Russia is the following: act crazy and back that up with wild acts of “playing chicken” (blowing up pipelines, flying the demented wax figure into Kiev in the middle of a raging war, personal attacks via media “hits” on the image of Russia and its leaders, etc.).
In case you were wondering what is the goal of this? It is to force Russia to hold its forces back from a crushing offensive in 404 (and it is working). As impotent USA looks right now, it can still inflict significant damage on the Russians (while losing the overall war against RFA). Russians, being sane, do not want this – and are keeping most of their mobilized forces in the background, outside of the theater of war – thinking they may have to use them, should the crazy people in DC and London decide to go to war (they sure give the appearance of the intent to do so). This American strategy has an expiration date (inability to keep up with weapons production) and I think the Chinese have decided to expire it even quicker – by upping the pressure with the possibility of “backing” Russia, should the above scenario occur. (IMHO Russians are being wise (keeping most of their reserves intact).
3) In the long run, the west has nothing to offer to the rest of the world or to its own populations. This will catch up eventually (3-5 year horizon) and when that happens, the combination of de-dollarization, enormous deficits and debt, loss of (now hostile) colonies to exploit and the obvious consequences of de-industrialization – will all come crashing down on the collective west. This is obvious to some not insignificant but consistently growing % of the American population by now?
So, what is left? Well, we can always dust off an old worn out hag, put her on TV and she can “appeal” to the Russian people… It makes for great theater. Panem et circenses, dear friends!
Can we keep ourselves at peace with that picture ?
Well some of us can and some others cannot.
Nihil Novi Sub Sole
Deng Xiaoping switched China onto a development road at about the same time the GDR collapsed and West German Capitalists set off to integrate the Real Existing Socialism economy into their export machine…………….
Now every senior position – political and economic in the former GDR is held by West Germans………….
Have you compared China since 1990 to Eastern Germany since 1990 ???
Carl Zeiß Jena employed 70,000 before 1990 – now <2,000. It produced the optical and thermal imaging systems for T-72 tanks and other Soviet military projects……….ALL GONE.
China developed but East Germany de-industrialised

You got to take it easy on this old man, Larry. At the mere sight of Hillary Rotten Benghazi my BP goes off the charts!
HEAR HEAR! C’Mon Larry, was it really necessary to put that bitch’s photo in this article. When those two are gone, the stench will last until 2050.
True but look on the bright side. Some of us enjoy watching her and that Nuland creature’s visages rapidly transmorphing into the last years of Madhatter Albright.
Do the Cretins-in-Charge not get that Putin is actually a restrained and moderate politician? Who do you think would be his successor? Most likely Medvedev, who is pretty hawkish or similar, would smack the USA/NATO as hard as it deserves but might be less tough on the misguided EU.
Medvedev is probably Putin’s preferred successor, yet people like Kadyrov and especially Prigozhin are far more in the public eye; and it’s obvious that whether Prigozhin has political ambitions or not, those around Putin are acting not just as though he does, but as though said ambitions are a threat to themselves.
Medvedev is a self-rebranded character who was an Atlanticist and now poses as a nationalist. Most Russians I know are less than convinced.
Putin himself was a kind of Atlanticist early on the job, however, reality for twenty years has taught him the Russian way.
Being reasonably smart AND devoted to your country is everything.
Puppets and would-be puppets are everywhere to find, while the other kind is in short supply.
Prigozhin is a public relations and Medvedev is the same today! The Security Council’s bad cop. Please Bill! There are a lot of very qualified people in the Russian Administration that most of the Western public don’t even know about! Some not even the CIA! Which today is a real disaster. The only intelligence that still works today in the US is the military! Thirty years ago, it was unthinkable that American intelligence had not noticed the rotation of the Russian economy towards the East since 2014. The US still believes that sanctions will work. And neither the US nor the EU stop buying Russian oil!
Khadyrov is Muslim and Chechen. There is ZERO prospect of a Muslim heading the Russian State – indeed it is more likely a Muslim will occupy the Oval Office !
The succession is not just one man – it is a team. Putin brought the St Petersburg Team into power in Moscow – he and his group like Medvedev and Patruschev go way back.
The real question is who succeeds Lavrov who is the last of the Andrei Gromyko generation – the man who built Soviet Foreign Ministry until Gorbachev sidelined it.
I’m sorry, but your judgment is too limited.
.
How can you judge Russian society, its preferences, a set of opinions that are very diverse, if you show little due curiosity about Russia and Russians and are mainly focused on yourself, on your problems?
Briefly speaking. Kadyrov, Prigozhin can in no way be considered as presidential candidates in Russia. And they certainly cannot pose a threat to Putin’s entourage.
Medvedev has never been an Atlanticist. Never! His image was created by hostile propaganda. It’s like calling Putin Hitler or Stalin. Or call PMC “Wagner” – a national socialist organization and equate it with “Azov” according to certain external features.
Once again, I urge you to be critical of information received from telegram channels.
Sorry, I couldn’t resist and intervened. I do not make judgments about the internal affairs of America and Americans because I am a foreigner. It would be stupid of me.
Medvedev is a self-rebranded character who was an Atlanticist and now poses as a nationalist. Most Russians I know are less than convinced.
Nah, today’s Medvedev is genuine. His animosity is real and born of a bitter awakening to the true nature of what he once admired in western society and thought to be sacrosanct, that is to say – western ideals.
Medvedev has been betrayed (twice now) and not at all happy about it. Beware his vengeance.
They do. That’s why they know they can slander, a and carry out attacks on Russia property and taunt him without consequences.
Xi has less of a calm temperament
Lika, it is unlikely that Medvedev will run for president. He has already played his mission in the history of modern Russia. But Medvedev’s candidacy cannot be ruled out completely. He is a worthy candidate and a loyal colleague.
IMHO. Putin’s successor is completely dependent on Putin – whoever Putin appoints will be president.
I agree with all you say. Broken agreements are hard to unbreak – especially when everyone from the Lakota to the Libyans can tell you the US’ record on upholding treaties. I also agree that demonising Putin makes it harder to talk to Russia. That said, I hate to ask, but is this not in fact the point? If, by their own actions, the Neocons can make it impossible to come to terms with Russia, then presumably they make it possible to argue that peace is no longer possible and the war must be waged to the last Ukrainian, the last Pole, the last American. I fear that this war will continue until one side is physically incapable of carrying it on. In a nuclear world, of course, this is utterly terrifying because the consequence is quite likely that NONE of us will be around to talk about it. “Dr Strangelove” should be mandatory viewing for anyone who would wield political power in a nuclear state.
If anyone tried to make Dr Strangelove these days, he (and the cast and crew) would never work in Hollywood again.
You are very funny !!
Dr Strangelove was made by Stanley Kubrick……….
You clearly know nothing about him……….
Creative differences arising from his work with Douglas and the film studios, a dislike of the Hollywood industry, and a growing concern about crime in America prompted Kubrick to move to the United Kingdom in 1961, where he spent most of his remaining life and career. His home at Childwickbury Manor in Hertfordshire, which he shared with his wife Christiane, became his workplace, where he did his writing, research, editing, and management of production details. This allowed him to have almost complete artistic control over his films, but with the rare advantage of having financial support from major Hollywood studios
What about “A Clockwork Orange”?How bizarre the theme of that movie seemed at the time. Not so sureal now is it?
A Clockwork Orange Revolution seems to be a perfect fit.
Bring the Nazis to power…..watch ’em roar.
Where Political obsession clouds reality unchallenged, thereby lies the path to oblivion with many historical examples, not least that of the former Third Reich.
Good gibbering ghost of Kiev, how I wish Putin were the reincarnation if Stalin. We’d see the end of all this rubbish in short order.
I doubt even the oligarchs around Putin can force Russia to negotiate at this point (that is, short of negotiations on the terms of Ukranazistan’s surrender). Putin couldn’t survive the backlash against anything short of clear victory, and he knows it.
You overrate Stalin……..or know too little factual history.
Richard Sorge gave Stalin a full warning of Hitler’s invasion – in detail.
Stalin failed to act and withdraw his forces from the frontier with the Wehrmacht……….he simply could not believe the intelligence he received
That led to the rapid advances of the Wehrmacht and 5.7 million Soviet soldiers going into captivity and 3.3 million dying there including his own son who committed suicide
Stalin made so many mistakes and had to jettison Soviet dogma and rehabilitate the Orthodox Church and Mother Russia so men could die for something they held dear
Is the US still the #1 global military power and Russia is #2?
Some of the criteria should be readjusted (such as the value of spending) and the rating is so close that perhaps it’s a toss-up. All summed up, in effectiveness, Russia should be #1, and what else matters?
https://www.globalfirepower.com/countries-comparison-detail.php?country1=russia&country2=united-states-of-america
The US might, militarily, rank No 3….and only because of its nuclear arsenal, but financially and morally, it’s totally bankrupt and is quickly sliding down the greasy pole towards third-world oblivion. With the US it’s all projection, its perpetual belligerent and agressive nature coupled with its mittyesque belief in exceptionalism and indispensibality ensures it’s endlessly mired in conflicts….conflicts that it loses with greater ignominy and humiliation each time. This time, with Russia, it has met its Waterloo….God only knows how it proposes to extricate itself this time, 87% of the world’s population, a population that have experienced it’s genocidal plunder and pillage, are scrutinizing every move…….and believe me, they’re not cheering for the “empire”.
Jealousy. Our government thinks Putin is very smart. They aren’t used to that with any of the leaders of western nations. The western leaders qualify as leader because they are pliant, work cheap, easily scared back in line when they start trying to act to help their people. The intelligence also must respect Putin’s moxie and they just can’t crack the nut it seems. If it is true that Putin simply says what he means, then I can see how that would scare everyone even more. They can’t predict the outcome, the war games show they will lose, the generals tell them they will lose but none of it matters to the humans that own and direct Joe Biden. They know the economic collapse is here now and they are desperate to find a scapegoat.
If you want to know how members of the Islamic State were thinking you must only read MSM-newspapers and listen to Western politicians. This infantile and naive worldview is the way how mass murderer perceive the world and it will lead to utter destruction. May God have mercy on us.
If you want to know how members of the Islamic State were thinking you must only read MSM-newspapers and listen to Western politicians.
A holy war to uphold the right of Ukraine to be…….. a fascist state of expendable chattel masquerading as a free democracy?
It’s ironic that HRC would seem to suggest that the Russian people overthrow their, while she believes that demonstrating at the WH is an insurrection.
There are, no doubt people in Russia that don’t like the war and are opposed to it. Some of them listen to Western media and believe everything they hear. Until they see the reality like in this excellent video:
https://www.bitchute.com/video/Y5CAEeHY1SVn/
“Then send your numbers without number,
Your madden’d sons, your goaded slaves,
In Russia’s plains there’s room to slumber,
And well they’ll know their brethren’s graves!”
A. Pushkin 1831
https://russianuniverse.org/2014/09/24/slanderers-of-russia/
The modus operandi of the US officials are always “Don’t look at what we do, just believe what we say.” Such shameless hypocritical projection that already has most of the world seeing through it, except the masses in USA and a few vassal western states. Any wonder that people all around the world including some enlightened ones in the west are rising up against the US diktats? You simply can’t lie to everyone all of the time.
A Russian nationalist would never do the deal with China like Putin did! Putin is a patriot like 99.9% of Russians and until 2014 a true Germanophile who believed that the way to develop Russia was with the West. Hence the joint investment with Germany in gas pipelines! Russia exported energy and imported a lot of German technology. In line with Peter the Great for 300 years! Except for the communist period, in the last 300 years Russia has always been facing the West. WWI happens because of the Tsar’s connection with the Kaiser that left the English cousin out! Putin only turned the Russian economy definitively to the East in 2014 when he realized he was going to war and had to defend Russia from economic sanctions! Putin is definitely not a nationalist. And the worst that could happen to the West today was Putin’s downfall. Surely they knew a real nationalist like Stalin! Due to the war and the pulsar of the Russians today!
It is necessary to understand that the greatest fear of England in the past and today of the USA – which inherited the Empire and British Imperialism – is a united and strong Europe from Lisbon to Vladivostok. For the super power it represents. Together with China in Eurasia, even stronger! And this proxy war, like WWI, is only about disconnecting Russia from Germany. Split Europe in half! That’s what Rumsfeld’s new Europe is for! And a regime change in Moscow to plunder Russia’s resources! Putin functions as a caricature or meme of Russia for Western propaganda. Which does not correspond to the real Putin, far from being a Tyrant! On the contrary, for many Russians Putin is too soft on the West! For all those who wanted to have resolved the Donbass situation as early as 2014 with Ukraine militarily much weaker. And Putin again insisted on diplomacy that no nationalist insisted on! And the caricature of Putin is only useful because the Russophobic West does not have the courage to call 150 million Russians what it calls Putin! That is not Russia! Putin is just the president of Russia! Due to this war, with the greatest support ever! Which just proves once again that the war to destabilize Russia and overthrow Putin was a huge mistake! They just woke up the Bear who never hated the West so much! A so far very friendly Bear from the West!
A true nationalist today in the Kremlin would destroy Ukraine in a week or a month! Even if I lost 100,000 men! And 100 or 200 fighterjets! And since Europe is already unarmed, he did not hesitate to mobilize another 500,000 men and enter Poland if necessary. Since he risks seeing Poland enter Ukraine. And after Poland, there is no army until Berlin! Russia still today is not using 25% of Russia’s military potential in Ukraine. Putin is 100 times more civilized than the American Administration! And smarter!
Stick to your Xbox console !
You do not understand this continent to write such weird statements as if a “true nationalist” would attack other countries………since “nationalists” defend their own.
There are British, German, US troops in the Baltic States, in Poland, in Romania……….and you think they are not a tripwire ?
NATO has NEVER planned to fight a conventional land war since 1970s – particularly not in Europe. Their weapons platforms all originated in design studios in 1970s.
SSBNs were the focus which is why France, UK, USA devoted so much funding to updating them…….12 Columbia Class; 4 SNLE 3G, 4 Dreadnought – that is how they will fight if interests are attacked.
Russia has no need to “invade” Poland because Polish voters will eradicate the regime in Warsaw in the next election………..maybe Ukraine will have a presidential election in May 2024 ?
Paulo Greenwood,
I can’t even understand very well if your comment is a reply to mine?! Something always difficult to understand in this blog where the answers sometimes appear aligned with the comments as is the case and worse, when a user addresses another without the decency to write the username to whom he is addressing. If not, I apologize in advance for not wasting too much time with anyone who thinks nationalists don’t invade foreign countries?! And I can only recommend one history book and it doesn’t have to be very old or pre-WWII! Nor do I comment on the elections in Rumsfeld’s new Europe.
Finally, if Russia bombs Poland and I’m not saying that will happen either, NATO won’t lift a finger! At the limit adds a few more names to Putin! It should be understood that the US did not provoke this conflict to go to war or to win some proxy war on the border of a nuclear power. Even US military strategists are not so stupid as to think they can beat Russia on its border! Militarily the US is much more engaged in the South China Sea! In Europe the MIC is making a fortune in arms, oldest and news! The objective in relation to Russia has always been just to wear down and destabilize Russia and Putin politically. And the trade of China in Europe and in Euroasia with Belt and Road Iniciative. But above all break Europe in half. Maintain RUS out and Germany down! Disconnect Russia from Germany! Always the greatest fear of England and today of USA! A Europe too stron! WWI happens because of the Kaiser’s connection with the cousin Tsar which leaves the English cousin out. The US interest in the new Europe is precisely to make a barrier between Western Europe and Russia! Which is also what justifies the enlargement of NATO! Push Russia out of Europe. Out of the Charter of Paris! Just this! And they managed to bring Russia closer to China! But they failed. Russia is today much stronger and more united around its leader than before the conflict. The pivot of a multipolar NWO! How predictable it was!
And as a final note I would say that anyone who likes nationalists should also have a lot of appreciation for the Govt of Poland. The Kaczyński brothers’ party, the Law and Justice party, is an eminently nationalist party. And fascist! But I can also admit that Paulo doesn’t quite understand the difference between patriotism and nationalism. Nothing a simple dictionary can’t solve! A patriot is one who, in principle, only defends his homeland like existential threats such as the deployment of US missiles in Ukraine and does not intend to extend his territory through invasions. Russia’s entry into Ukraine, in addition to the problem in Donbass – which it tried to resolve diplomatically for years – has an eminently defensive pattern. Just as Kennedy perceived the existential threat of USSR missiles in Cuba in 1962. Even if those missiles were a reaction to US missiles in Turkey and Italy! Which they raised in secret when Moscow withdrew the missiles from Cuba! After Khrushchev also obtain the guarantee that the US would not invade Cuba again like 2 years before in the pigs’ bay. It was all part of the final peace deal. With secret topics for 50 years like missiles in Turkey. But the Cuban missile crisis, like this crisis today, has several levels, such as the US attempt to overthrow Fidel and the missiles in Europe! Thanks and I hope I have been useful.
There is not going to be a Ukraine to have elections in.
The only way Russia will get the security it seeks is to demilitarize and dewesternize Ukraine and create a DMZ in the west on the EU border.
After that I believe Russia is likely to turn its back on Europe, except maybe Hungary and Serbia.
Hmmm. I take it you have never been a soldier or a military strategist.
Ash, how many here have that expertise???
And how many “talk”?
This said, I do not think that Paulo’s comment at 28 February 2023 at 01:38 makes sense. At all.
Regards.
Very sad to see intelligent people rush to the wrong conclusion. My comment is directed at Paul Greenwood and Ash. Please re-read Paulo’s comment, what you understood from it wasn’t what he was saying.
Russia’s army may be significant but note the number is divided into airforce, navy etc. Losing 100,000 soldiers would be a massive blow and leave Russia short of NATO attacked e.g. in transnistria or on Georgian border.
There are multiple potentially explosive fronts in this war.
Further complicated by the fact that if Russia went all in Ukraine and NATO may also escalate and increase rate of slaughter of those Russia is trying to protect. These are also brother Slavic nations with family ties across borders had Putin gone in hard immediately I don’t know how that would have played.
Russia is at war with the combined West.
Logistics, supply lines, ammo and weapons stocks are going to determine much. Technology is also significant. Remember also the 37 bio weapons labs of Ukrainie funded by the Pentagon.
Russia is building huge reserves and based in Belarus. They are also training reserves. But this is a very unpredictable war. The West would probably like nothing better than a fat juicy target of huge Russian Army mobilise within range of its weapons systems.
The number of Ukranians and weapons video supplied by West be may seem limitless now but they are not. The patience of the remaining Ukranian population with Zekensky is also limited. Dissent is far more open.
If you fight with your neighbour would you fight in your garden or his. Close to your supplies or have him closer to his. Tactically it makes sense for Russia to stay back, they don’t have anywhere near the numbers presently to hold sufficient depth on the huge line. They are taking strategic towns using limited or mercenary forces. Little by little the Ukranians lines are breaking here and there.
When Russia moves into an area they have to change currencies, school systems, pensions, food has to be supplied, electricity and gas supplies switched, jobs and hospitals stocked. It’s a huge task rebuilding and changing systems as they go. Of course they have made mistakes. But there are no easy answers here as the enemy has a say.
Paolo, Putin has very clearly stated many times that he views the Ukrainian people as his brethren and fellow Slavs. He is being incredibly and deliberately careful to minimize civilian casualties for precisely this reason, and that takes time. That is TRUE nationalism.
However, what the other European nations seem to ignore – at their peril – is that they are NOT fellow Slavs. If it gets to that point Putin will take no such care with them.
1. In 2014 LDNR wanted to join Russia. Putin said no.
2. In Feb 2022, Duma asked Putin to recognized LDNR. Putin said no, initially.
3. In 2008, Russia could easily have taken all of Georgia. Instead, they withdrew from terrein they had taken.
Does any of this sound like someone hell bent on reincorporating “Soviet” territories?
People also forget that not only did Ukraine become independent in1991, but Crimea voted to become an independent republic as well, but it was not recognized.
It’s an old trick
The proverbial thief shouts THIEF…! THIEF…! at the top of his lungs and strolls around scotfree with his pockets full.
Our thief : MIC, NATO, MSM, the political actors and actresses hired for this nightmare of a movie.
We have the circenses part all right but will we have the bread (panem) ?
The War Party refuses to aknowledge the sacred & centuries old legality of neutrality.
Muse on the implications of that
I can put vinegar in a fancy wine bottle and write wine on it. Nevertheless, there is vinegar in it. It is the same with democracy in the West.
I don’t want to claim that everything is fine in Russia. But there is more freedom there now than in the West. Another example. If North Korea had not had its jugular cut permanently since the 1950s, what kind of society would it be today?
Western propaganda today has the level of kindergarten. Therefore one issued also punishing paragraphs. With these, they try to stifle any other opinion.
I am not a Putin fan. I am not a fan of anyone. But Putin will be described as one of the greatest statesmen in human history. If humanity survives the greed for power and wealth. Putin: highly intelligent, educated, extremely self-disciplined, integer, with gigantic workload, patriotic and an excellent strategist. A man who has permanently saved his people from annihilation. Secretly, many Europeans hope that Russia will liberate them once again. But this will not happen. Only the us people can liberate themselves and with them their European colonies.
“Secretly, many Europeans hope that Russia will liberate them again. But this will not happen. Only the people of the United States can liberate themselves, and with them their European colonies.”
It seems to me that the threat to Europeans as a whole, to European unity, including Russia, is posed not so much by the United States as by the countries of Eastern Europe – the Poles, the Balts, the Ukrainians. To a lesser extent, Czechs and Romanians. Czechs and Romanians will take the side of the majority and bow before reasonable power. The Balts are ruled by Gauleitors, the authorities and the people are different. Poles and western Ukrainians are irreconcilable by nature.
The Baltics and Eastern Europeans are not independent states. They are tools of the US empire.
heikomr: “The Baltic and Eastern European countries are not independent states. They are tools of the US empire.”
Do you want to say that the United States is solely responsible for the crazy Russophobia of Poland, the Czech Republic, the Baltic states, Ukraine …?
No, that will not do. These countries are inhabited by adults, and they will be responsible for their actions, their words, their thoughts, even for their politicians.
It’s good, of course, to hide behind the US while the US hides behind the Europeans. But this is all an illusion of collective security (irresponsibility).
Бог шельму метит – so we say.
Everyone is asking the question: what does Victory in Ukraine mean. For me personally, the Victory of Russia will mean a strong iron curtain between the territories inhabited by close Russian peoples and territories inhabited by hostile ones. And let them live as they want, do what they want, pray to whom they want, but not at the expense of Russia.
No, they are absolutely right and I agree with them.
Had NATO had any wisdom, any at all… it would have insisted the Baltic States remain as non-member neutral states yet offered them guarantees of support were they to be invaded. This was my position in ’97 and remains so today.
Heck, as Larry can trace his ancestors to the American Revolution, I once recently remotely traced mine as best it could be done, to Gediminas – Lithuania’s founding father and then after a bit of research of those days, understood how Lithuania in particular, in order to retain sovereignty sought to maintain a fine balance between relations with their eastern and western neighbors, never being the ones to pit one against the other.
But as Macron once said, possibly as his last ever recorded bit of wisdom, “NATO is brain dead”
And so we find ourselves where we now are and according to Macron’s revelation, deservedly so.
A conclusion I also came to long ago, regarding Putin’s place in history. That is, assuming history gets to be written of these times.
Russians are living in the best Russia they have ever known………….
Westerners are living in the worst societies of the past 200 years
@Paul Greenwood
Very moderate and accurate statement.
You only have to ask the family of my ex-wife in a suburb of SPB. Things were never so good!!!
(I hope the irony is seen).
PS: or to some of my best friends in SPB, willing to move abroad …
Thanks for using an acronym used in your village on a site with an global audience.
Larry, do you know of the substack of Simplicius The Thinker (Simplicius76)?
If not, I recommend you check it out.
I think Larry has included his work here very recently. Last week if memory serves.
Thanks, I was reading Larry’s latest from the top and didn’t realize that.
I dont think there will be a negotiated settlement to the Ukrainian war – As it happened everywhere the US lost , they would simply pack up and leave at night like in Kandahar leaving all their collaborators and local proxies waiting to be annihilated by vengeful opponents – In another 2-4 months , the US and by virtue NATO will up and disappear because the next stage of world war 3 is about to begin in the Sahel – Most probably Russia would stop at the dneiper river to form a natural boundary and the remaining parts of Ukraine would slowly waste away like Afghanistan without people or natural resources to rebuild and restore it
This is crucial
in Europe we have this false premise implanted in the brain and it is EXTREMELY difficult to extract.
It is the foundation of the future European strategy of permanent confrontation with Russia. An army that can be useful against China too.
President Putin; Valdai discussion club, 2022;
‘My mother was-as you know, I said it many times that I came from a working family. My father was a foreman, he graduated from a vocational school. My mother did not receive education, even secondary, she was a mere worker and had many jobs; she worked as a nurse in a hospital, and as a janitor and a night watchman, she did not want to leave me in kindergarten or in nursery——“
Snobbishness, elitism and a completely unfounded sense of smug superiority is one of the reasons why Western leaders hate Vladimir Putin. Western leaders as Pedigree people illustrate the same defects as pedigree dogs; inbred, highly strung and useless for any practical purpose.
Eton in the UK teaches Latin, Greek, and sodomy to the pedigree people in the UK, but you cannot make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear; an idiot who can spout Latin and Greek is still an idiot.
President Putin gives the Western leaders an inferiority complex, and they hate it, because they recognise deep down that they are, in fact, inferior.
Vladimir Vladimirovich comes from a family that was directly affected by the Great Patriotic War. During the years of the struggle against Nazism, his father Vladimir Spiridonovich endured a lot, who was wounded, gave his food from the hospital in besieged Leningrad to his wife and son, Putin’s older brother Viktor. The father was extremely emaciated, began to often faint from hunger, could die, and the doctors forbade his wife to visit him. Mom had to give little Victor to an orphanage in the hope of evacuation and salvation from hunger. But little Victor did not survive, he died at the age of 2 in 1942.
Putin also had a brother, Albert, who died before the war.
Putin’s mother herself survived in besieged Leningrad by a miracle, thanks to her father, who managed to return from the hospital and fed her at the last moment, already dying.
Do you understand what family Putin grew up in? How dear he was to his parents. How he honors the memory of his deceased brother and all those who died during the blockade in Leningrad.
I was married with a girl from SPB (born in Leningrad, of course).
I studied Russian there and have some friends.
The Russians are the last folk I would choose as enemy.
On a subconscious level and never to be admitted, the West has one fundamental and potentially fatal problem. It believes in its right to lecture others but never to be lectured to.
It’s the sort of attitude that makes one want to smack it in the face.
This property of the West is called impudence.
Insolence is punished with humiliation.
Very good interview
I notice yet another Clinton associate committed suicide recently.
Amazingly, he managed to tie himself to a tree, shoot himself in the head, and then dispose of the gun.
The remarkable things that Bill and Hilary’s chums are able to achieve on their deathbeds!
“The least capable is the politician , the longer is the blood-trail”.
It is an anywhere and anytime common occurrence, but that women has potential to make history :p.
PS : I just remember the difference between a snail and a legless woman 🙂 🙂 🙂
An excellent article, what still awaits mankind. I had commented him in another place.I copy that here times.
I ask for understanding that I do not translate my German into English. But the danger is too big that the translation becomes faulty. If you are interested, you can use the translation app in your browser. This works very well. I use it to research sources in e.g. English, Russian, Greek or Chinese. I also make this effort.

Anmerkung:
Volksverhetzung!
Yes, the peace movement in Germany unfortunately has no freedom of expression on this most important point. This is an existential war of defense for Russia. But anyone who says this publicly is committing a crime. Rabble-rousing!
Americans always call everyone Hitler. Which kind of makes me wonder how much of a Hitler. Hitler himself was.

“TREATING PUTIN AS AN IRREDEEMABLE IMPERIALIST HAS PAINTED THE WEST INTO A DANGEROUS CORNER”
That is one of the symptoms and tools not causation.
Their consistent purpose of attempting to stop time/status quo has always and progressively painted the “West” into a corner of lesser facility, which became more dangerous by the ongoing transcendence of “The Soviet Union” whose emulation of coercive social relations in the short-term with differential velocities, partly facilitated the sustainability of both “The Soviet Union” and “The United States of America”.
Hence when “The United States of America” began to question whether they won the Cold War in September 1994 if memory serves, so a delegation was sent to “Russia” not restricted to Moscow and St. Petersburg but including various Siberian locations despite local toilet facilities, “The United States of America” primarily through its proxies initially attempted to “represent Russia” to the President Mr. William Clinton and others as a compliant vassal of “The United States of America” based upon their proxies framing the “research” by “Is she really going out with himness ?”
However when Mr. Clinton and others started to realise they had been duped – not by their chosen proxies of course – they doubled-down by attempting to control the Russian Presidential election of 1996, which in conjunction with the “Russian default” of 1998, convinced President Clinton and his entourage that that was unfair.
“The United States of America” subsequently attempted and continues to attempt to “represent” The Russian Federation as “The Soviet Union” from when Mr. Putin was elected President on the first ocassion, despite the piques of anger which encouraged the September 1999 bombing of appartment buildings in Buynaksk, Moscow and Volgodonsk.
One of the prevalent myths of “The United States of America” is that they live in:
“Seasons of mists and mellow fruitfullness
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun.”
Possibly a component of why they lost China: perhaps because it was hard to find?
“Putin is an old school nationalist and an Eastern Orthodox Christian who eschews the Soviet Communist legacy”.
Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin professes the Russian Orthodox faith, which means that the ‘nationalist’ sphere is fully in symbiosis with the ‘Orthodox’ vector of faith, oriented on the face of Christ. The concept of nationalism however suggest that ‘Russian’ is one of its manifestations. Such an umbrella manner of subordinating thinking is typically ‘European’ and imperialistic in a spiritual manner. European history exhibits ‘nationalism’ as becoming a substitute for Christian faith, being itself antagonistic to Christian faith; Nazism, an offspring of ‘nationalism’, is inherently anti-Christian (that’s why Nazis adorn themselves with pre-Christian symbols).
In Russia this ‘nationalist’ antagonism that exemplifies European history never happened (perhaps with the exception of the 70 years in exile under the joke of communism). Therefore it is IMO more advisable not to use the tainted (Eurocentric) umbrella concept of nationalism, but to use sui generis: Russian as something unique). The understanding of what it means to be Russian goes hand in hand with the understanding of what it means to be Orthodox. The SMO has shown a deepening of this harmonious interdependence, a strengthening of both Russian as well as Orthodox ‘identity’.
“Nazism … is inherently anti-Christian …”
Sure …
https://ghdi.ghi-dc.org/sub_image.cfm?image_id=2061
Well , there is a lot more to say about that … Like tons. Over 9000% agreed 🙂
The Vatican power and “Das germane Kapital” is an unfinished love story since … longtime , like before 1776.
Try to reads some of the Annie Lacroix-Ritz books if you can find some in English. She’s commie to the root but god … she has more sources than Sy Hersh about the Vatican 🙂
Larry in the second paragraph called Putin an “Eastern Orthodox Christian”. This is actually the root of this whole millennium-old conflict. Adolf was a devout Roman Catholic, which is why the most famous Nazi symbol is the hakenkreuz (“hooked cross”), known mistakenly in the West, thanks to a certain Father Murphy who translated Adolf’s autobiography, as the swastika – which it is not.
This whole thing goes back to 1054 and even involved the Norwegians (Norsemen) back then….
Obviously, Texas was a free state which came into the US voluntarily. The coup agains Diem may have guaranteed the eventual failure in South Vietnam, not sure about that one, but no one else seemed capable of holding things together.
Texas came voluntarily to the Union thanks to the infusion of gringos previous to 1845. Mexico seems poised to return the favor soon across the entire American southwest.
Texas was a free state which came into the US voluntarily.
So, After its secession from Mexico, Texas became an acceptable analog to the Donbass then. Good to know.
It’s hard not to notice the parallels with WW2. Hitler was bent on taking over the world! So said Winston Churchill, PM for the Empire on which the sun never set. And people like Charles Linbergh and the America First organization were roundly vilified for not wanting war and for not believing in the caricature painted of Hitler. But this propaganda has been so drummed into our skulls that most everyone thinks it’s true. Hitler and Satan are synonymous in most peoples minds. It’s guttural and reflexive. And this is what is being orchestrated against Putin.
Ron Unz over at the Unz review has an excellent article on the subject.
https://www.unz.com/runz/american-pravda-putin-as-hitler/
Please do we have to watch videos of the Wicked Witch.
We know what she is. I nearly brought up my dinner when I saw her ugly physiognomy leering out at me from my computer screen. I’m not keen on censorship, but there are limits.
I just don’t think we need reminding of her at all. I’m trying to forget.
The problem is not the WEST, but a certain country whose cities were not bombed in WW2 because intercontinental missiles did not exist. The people of this country never felt the horrors of a war and consequently they believe that they are invencible. They are prone to start wars with inferior oponents far way from their country, preventing any attack on its cities. Guess whay it will take to change their attitude towars war?
Paulo,
It is not the country you say, but its incompetent, petty, evil leaders. Unfortunately, rubes decide the election and the lowest common denominator gets elected. Grifter Joe (El Presidente) is easily bought off by the neocons who’s agenda he is implementing, besmirching said country.
It is not the rubes (villagers) that decide the election, quite the contrary. One problem in this country is that they do not elect the president, but they elect middlemen who then select the president by the highest bid paid by the oligarchs.
As they themselves say, no pain, no gain. It is not possible to to have an understanding of the horrors of the war by the intellect.
There is a good reason for that. We have a Republic, not a Dimocracy. Unfortunately, over the 200 year history, every effort has been used to push it towards a Democracy and disable the checks and balances. It works wonderfully for putting in the stooges. First give them a false choice: Tweedledee or Tweedledum. Then make a big hoopla out of the existential threat of the other Party’s candidate. This is done by trotting out wedge issues like race, abortion, etc. To activate the base. Also make sure the dumbest and most easily swayed are registered to vote. And if that doesn’t work stuff the ballot boxes!
Are you talking about the Ponzi Scheme dressed up as a country?
Spanish dictator Franco’s brother-in-law, Serrano Suñer, wrote this in 1947:
«Faced with Slavic imperialism set in motion, only the force of an illusion can be opposed in a great general enterprise. If we have nothing else to oppose to the great global threat than our lawsuits and this rotten morality of “black marketeering”, the general corruption, political insincerity and selfishness, the emptiness and lies of propaganda (this being said without any exception) we will perish, and the Russian empire will be a fate we will have deserved.»
These words come from a man who was on the side of Nazi propaganda and the blue division when the Germans invaded the Soviet Union.
I thought Putin was on his sick bed and ready to die so why worry.
Russia will have a hard time conquering anyone without missiles and ammo besides after Ukraine gets done with them there won’t be a Russian army.
Why Hillary has got her panties in a wad is a mystery. All they need do is wait just a wee bit longer, and another dozen tanks and its all over for Russia.
At that point they will need the DNC and Goldman Sachs to rescue their floundering economy.
I thought Putin was on his sick bed and ready to die so why worry.
Why indeed. The latest opposition gobbledegook is for March 8th when he will undergo severe chemotherapy and step down.
Stay tuned for Episode 32 of ‘The Disappearing President’.

“There are decades when nothing happens, and there are weeks when decades happen.” – Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov.
As was often the case Mr. Lenin was wrong since phenomena can exist without the need to be perceived, which aided the coup of Mr. Lenin and his associates in 1917, and that change is a constant whose variables include but are not limited to trajectories and velocities which aided the half-lives of “The Soviet Union”.
This is as close to truth as CNN can come. Vladimir the Great is not taking away anything, he is returning.
Mamedov guy is right about Russia’s concept of empire being different from that of the Western powers. Western way is exterminating native population, and Russian is integrating them.
“Mamedov guy is right about Russia’s concept of empire being different from that of the Western powers. Western way is exterminating native population, and Russian is integrating them.”
Mr. Mamedov, you and many others are misguided and don’t listen and/or retain information.
The Russian Federation had/has no concept of Empire for themselves; since at least 1969 they have understood and acted upon that Empires are weights for others.
Consequently present members of The Russian Federation helped “lubricate” the “independence” of the near abroad before the “formal” creation of The Russian Federation which from inception but before “formal” creation, has always been “multi-polar” – hence why it was/is called The Russian Federation.
The Russian Empire which lasted until 1917 did have a limited notion of population integration particularly positive in relation to Germans who formed a significant part of the civil service of The Russian Empire, and particularly negative in respect of “Jews” which through “inertia” it regularly failed to practice.
Then Mr. Lenin appointed Mr. Stalin as Commisar of Nationalities who regularised practices to piss most “nationalities” off by attempting to create Homo Sovieticus, subsequently modified to primacy of the Russians as elder brothers to sit alongside those of the “stans” who were likely to make mistakes since they prayed more than once a day.
“This approach makes a diplomatic solution virtually unattainable and is likely to increase Putin’s doubts that the West can be trusted to uphold any agreement short of unconditional surrender.”
I don’t know, but, I think Russia has already wisely concluded that the West can not be negotiated with – at least until the West can clearly demonstrate they can be trusted. Russia (and the rest of the non-western world) sees clearly how the West has fallen.
Now, I think, it is all in the hands of the non-western world to develop and foster a new world economy – eventually, bypassing and leaving the West behind – at least Europe will be left in the mud.
I am quite certain Putin no longer holds doubts about Western reliability in treaty promises.
He knows the West won’t…
The western strategy was to mischaracterize, insult, slander and degrade Putin and his administration so much so in the NATO alliance public eye, that negotiation would be impossible, and NATO unity would be made sacrosanct and undefinable.
They say that the Russian public space is censorship, propaganda and information control, but the joke is on us. We in the west make Goebbels look like a Gerbil.

“They went to the Mekong Delta in Vietnam, and this is the Navy now, and they’re dealing with the problems that Vietnam is going to confront with the Mekong. All of a sudden, one of the Vietnamese from the government– this is a communist government, Paul– and he said, “we’ve got a lot of students getting their doctorates, and they are coming up with some good ideas.” Fast forward. The Navy sat in on the doctoral briefings of those students from Vietnamese universities, with the faculty grading the students on the quality of their dissertations in order to see if they could gain more ideas about how to deal with climate change. This is what should be happening all over the world. This is going to kill us all. We need to be cooperating. We need to be collaborating. This is what is happening in these esoteric military channels because the military understands, at root, this is something everybody has to contribute to. Enemy. Friend. Mutual Ally. ‘
“Lawrence Wilkerson
The talk now with this main battle tank business and this pressure on Germany to give Leopards to them, on the U.K. to give Centurions to them, and on us to give Abrams to them, which is pressure from the military-industrial complex, I guarantee you, is indicative of how it could escalate anywhere in that two or three years before we get to a stalemated ceasefire. It’s a cash cow. I mean, that’s Lockheed Martin’s dream to have this go on and on and on. Look, they’re making money off the munitions going to Ukraine and then making a double hit off the munitions going back into the U.S. and our allies’ stockpiles that got depleted because of the munitions going to Ukraine. I mean, this is nirvana for them.”

[The global energy sector earned nearly $4 trillion last year, the head of the International Energy Agency said on Saturday, stressing that the figure marks a substantial increase from the recent average.
“The global oil and gas industry’s income jumped to almost $4 trillion in 2022, a huge rise from its recent average of $1.5 trillion,” Fatih Birol wrote on his Twitter account.
According to data provided by agency chief, annual oil and gas revenue has averaged between $1 trillion and $2 trillion worldwide in recent years. ]

Paul Jay and Larry Wilkerson are not Putin boosters either. Jay is more like a slanderer but they seem to have their other priorities straight.
Putin actually has the brain to talk about climate change.
Putin is one of the few leaders who gets most of it but few people get him. He still expresses some doubt about the mechanisms of AGW but it’s a work in progress. But all they have for him is insults and calumny?
“ How fast the humankind is moving towards replacing hydrocarbons with alternative sources is a different question. According to expert data, global energy consumption will increase in the coming decades, and the ratio between hydrocarbons and renewable sources, such as nuclear power and hydropower, will remain about the same.
Today (whether it is good or bad, but this is the case) this relationship between different sources remains unchanged. The total volume is up. Let us not forget that Russia is a vast country with hydropower capabilities, and we are expanding and will continue to expand nuclear energy. Nuclear power accounts for only 16 percent of energy generation. In France, it is already more than 90 percent, and we have only 16. We have to get to at least 25. Our neighbours, Finland, are going to build as well. And so on. So, we have not missed anything.”

“As to Russia, we spoke about it a number of times and we reaffirmed that at the forum again and also agreed on that in the final document. We are going to fully comply with our commitments. In the nearest future we will begin the ratification of these agreements and will conduct the necessary domestic procedures. These issues are highly relevant for us. I stated this at the last plenary session. Let me remind you that according to the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, the warming in Russia is happening 2.5 times faster than the average global warming. This is a major challenge for us. We must realise that. This is the reason for floods, and for permafrost thawing in the areas where we have fairly big cities. We must be able to understand how to react to the climate changes underway there.”

“I don’t get why Germans don’t like nuclear energy. I don’t want to comment on it, but… I don’t understand how you’re going to keep warm. You don’t want gas, and you don’t want to develop nuclear energy, so what are you going to do, burn firewood? Of course, though, you’d have to get the wood from Siberia…”

the alai partly buys in to the western frame, tho, comparing countries that russia was involved in for very different reasons to u.s. invasions.
“Ukraine, Georgia or Syria is presented as an unacceptable act, but the occupations of Afghanistan, Iraq or Libya are interpreted as routine events. The annexation of Crimea is categorically repudiated, but the appropriation of land in Palestine is warmly welcomed.
i see a lot of this from palestine lately, too. recent u.s. invasions are in faraway places. russia has it’s security and very existence at stake, as well as the defense of close allies.
agree with most of the article and thank you for your daily!
If indeed the US/NATO sent Russia back to the 2/24/22 borders(?)and recaptured Crimea I can’t imagine Ukraine would ever get rebuilt there would be so many green requirements in construction and diversity in governance. Maybe ANTIFA and BLM could go there and join up with the tolerant, progressive migrants from Africa to help in reconstruction.Build there diverse, equitable and inclusive paradise. I am sure(sic)Ukraine would welcome the new arrivals. The Africans would work-have doubts about Antifa and BLM.
They would enjoy the weather.
What a bs …
It’s not just Putin. It’s all people that associate themselves with Putin, known associates so to speak.
https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/alex-ovechkin-putin-1.6726430
Like ourselves Larry, even if we acknowledge any kind of virtue that Putin may have.
When it comes to the war, or SMO, Russia could ‘win’ anytime they want.
“One year ago, to protect the people in our historical lands, to ensure the security of our country and to eliminate the threat coming from the neo-Nazi regime that had taken hold in Ukraine after the 2014 coup, it was decided to begin the special military operation. Step by step, carefully and consistently we will deal with the tasks we have at hand.
Since 2014, Donbass has been fighting for the right to live in their land and to speak their native tongue. It fought and never gave up amid the blockade, constant shelling
and the Kiev regime’s overt hatred. It hoped and waited that Russia would come to help.
In the meantime, as you know well, we were doing everything in our power to solve this problem by peaceful means, and patiently conducted talks on a peaceful solution to this devastating conflict.
This appalling method of deception has been tried and tested many times before. They behaved just as shamelessly and duplicitously when destroying Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, and Syria. They will never be able to wash off this shame. The concepts of honour, trust, and decency are not for them.
Over the long centuries of colonialism, diktat and hegemony, they got used to being allowed everything, got used to spitting on the whole world. It turned out that they treat people living in their own countries with the same disdain, like a master. After all, they cynically deceived them too, tricked them with tall stories about the search for peace, about adherence to the UN Security Council resolutions on Donbass. Indeed, the Western elites have become a symbol of total, unprincipled lies.
We firmly defend our interests as well as our belief that in today’s world there should be no division into so-called civilised countries and all the rest and that there is a need
for an honest partnership that rejects any exclusivity, especially an aggressive one.”
Vladimir Putin
In Canada we are constantly and shamelessly told that NATO and Ukraine will win. Any dissent in comments is negated and cancelled immediately if not outright censored. There’s a perverse sense to the policy that can be excused in the name of defeatism in a military and militant society, but not in a free country with democracy with free speech.
in CBC comments you can’t even write the words Hitler or Nazi, even if they appear in the body of the online article. I am sure if those words were applied to Russia, they would find a way to make an exception.
What’s also obvious is that Russia has been sparing cities from bombardment. But otherwise they make great human shields for the nationalist extremists.
Ritter and Hoh think Russia can win militarily. Ellsberg thinks that NATO does not want so much to destroy Russia, or accomplish regime change, as it wants to destroy the EU. It makes me think of Nuland and “F… the EU“.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=eqrCrX7nC58
It’s impossible to suggest Russia will win which is one of the things that makes Scott Ritter so refreshing. Ellsberg thinks maybe not, but at least he can listen to all points of view.
And just because we both approve of some of Putin doesn’t make us known associates except in the minds of those that paint everybody with the same polarizing brush.
There is zero to little hope of a diplomatic solution to end the UKR SMO…NATOstan keeps broadcasting that eventually the UKR will be a NATO member–Russia will not accept that. Unfortunately for the UKR that means a lot more death and destruction until their Country (as we currently know it) is no more.
I despise US political elites…they are Nero’s of the Country’s collapse. Phillip Geraldi (Council for the National Interest) makes the most salient point: “Raging against the war machine will do little good if we are incapable of first figuring out who is screwing us and then developing the courage to put a stop to it.”
https://www.unz.com/pgiraldi/america-goes-to-war-2/
Well we know who is “screwing us”…we now need to summon “the courage to put a stop to it.” I don’t care if you are Republican or Democrat…DO NOT vote for any candidate that has supported funding or equipping the Ukraine…I have written both my senators and my congressman and let them know they have lost my vote…about all I can do for now.
It’s interesting how NATO is just a typo away from NAZI.
That is probably how it will be viewed in the future if there is one.
Unfortunately voters in the West have been groomed by the two party state and fail to see the uniparty for what it is. Proportional representation in the US may be the only way out of this mess.
I have as well, guess what they couldn’t care less what you or I think.
They’re f**king this goat you just hold his head.

I am new to this website, and I appreciate the good information. I am tired of nothing but lies from the established media…I have a question for Mr Johnson or anybody who knows…I understand a little about Russia’s action in Georgia in 2008 being a response to Nato shenanigans. Could someone explain about that and also Russia’s conflict with Chechnya earlier, or point me to a trustworthy article? Thanks
Start here: https://theconversation.com/ukraine-war-follows-decades-of-warnings-that-nato-expansion-into-eastern-europe-could-provoke-russia-177999
Thank you.
Chechnya is complicated so I’m going to skip over the parts that go back to soviet policies and the Russian empire. Chechnya was one of the places where the end of the USSR was less than smooth. There was a native movement to break from Russia, it was also almost beyond a doubt aided and supported by the US. Yeltsin sent in troops. It was an absolute disaster.
Things were relatively calm for a few years. Then they flared again in 1999, but differently. There was a series of apartment bombings in Moscow and St. Petersburg attributed to Chechen terrorists. Putin was the fairly new PM to Yeltsin. The second Chechen war began. There was even more destruction. Grozny was effectively flattened.
But Putin also got Kadyrov’s father, the grand mufti of Chechnya and a militant in the first Chechen war, to switch sides. The insurgents were pretty roundly defeated and went to just terrorism. Kadryov’s father was assassinated, multiple terrible terrorist attacks in Russia. But Putin was also honorable on his deal with Kadyrov. Grozny is a gleaming city and Chechnya is well supported by Moscow.
There aren’t a lot of first Chechen war fighters left fighting but the anti-russian Chechen fighters of the second war ended up making their way to ISIS and similar groups. They’re fighting in Ukraine on the Ukrainian side now.
*this is the super simplified, abbreviated version that leaves out a bunch and tries not to bog it down with too many names and shit.
Fair review, only one addition, the Chechens who joined ISIS were often in the forefront of leadership of ISIS attacks in Syria. In other words, John Kerry’s self-declared ‘they’re on our side now’ good friends and allies.
Weren’t they on his side in the 90’s too? I suppose Alexander Haig’s notes on the matter won’t be public anytime soon.
Putin explained a few things, a while ago:
https://www.bitchute.com/video/2qnqDBSZLxdW/
“How have those worked out? Did it make the world safer? Is the United States more secure?”
Making the world less safe (for common people) is what keeps the whole Pentagon grift going. And for that, you have to have an endless parade of enemies. 24/7 propaganda can turn Santa Claus into the next Hitler. That bastard has flying reindeer! So of course we need Lockheed-Martin to develop the next generation fighter jet at $100M a copy…
Actual democracy, whether foreign or domestic, is the real enemy of the state. Spending untold trillions of dollars on weapons, war, and high tech industry is not something the average citizen wants, but of course this country is not run for the average citizen. Pumping money into the military is the biggest corporate welfare scam ever created.
As far as the United States being more secure, the only people that matter are the rich, and they’re doing just fine. Ask Hillary.

LOL! Will do.
Putin bumped off Safra and kicked out Browder. After that, he became “Hitler” in the press.
Browder was hell-bent on becoming another Armand Hammer but then discovered his father’s communist party bona-fides became a hindrance not a help in Russia. Stealing government funds didn’t help his case much either.
Congress is such a boob factory.
Larry:
A year since Russia launched the “special military operation” in the Donbass region, an accompanying question that has come to loom over world politics is “why the Global South is supportive of Russia in this first global conflict (WW3) of the 21st century” and is not discussed in any serious manner in the Anglo-American sphere.
This morning I read an essay by Krishen Mehta, an Indo-American, who sets forth a list of 5 reasons as an answer to the question posed.
https://countercurrents.org/2023/02/5-reasons-why-much-of-the-global-south-isnt-automatically-supporting-the-west-in-ukraine/
Mehta’s essay is more than worth reading; it is an effort to frame a persuasive and legitimate answer to the question above the cacophony mounted in the western media without exception that Putin is a reincarnation of Stalin and Hitler bent on reestablishing the former Soviet empire, while Ukraine under Zelensky is the contemporary version of Czechoslovakia-Poland taken together as sandwich between Hitler and Stalin fighting a heroic war of survival, and so the meme: “Russia bad, Ukraine good” and, of course, the collective West riding to the defense of Ukraine come hell or high water. This propaganda of the collective West runs out of steam once it lands on the shores of the Global South with its memories minimally of the past century, if not stretching back to the gunpowder transoceanic empires of the European powers since at least the early 16th century.
We live in the currents of history that are the effects of the consequences of consequences. And unless any effort is made, however limited and weak in terms of the complexity of grasping and comprehending history in this larger sense, we are all without exception residents inside the bubble of selective history that we regurgitate in telling ourselves how righteous we are when compared to others. Hegel, struggling with this dilemma, sought to answer the paradox by writing that eventually history will be comprehended when the owl of Minerva takes flight at dusk, and that what is rational is real and real is rational. And Fukuyama, in taking Hegel’s metaphor as a genuinely serious philosophical answer, grandiosely pronounced the end of history and he is yet to make his mea culpa of how utterly sophomoric he has been in neocon grandstanding. History has not ended. History remains puzzling, paradoxical, non-linear, ever confounding those who presume they have grasped it all and being of superior caste possess the authority to set up a “rule-based order” for the rest of the untouchables to live by.
Krishen Mehta’s effort, unlike Fukuyama who came out early last year to prophesize that Russia will meet its Waterloo in the plains of Donbass, is tentative and open to discussion, revision, expansion and, at a minimum, offering to the more curious, inquiring, skeptical people in the collective West a handle by which to step out of their bubble and seek to understand the on-going transition in global politics that suggests the curtain on the Eurocentric Age is coming down.
Thank you Mr. Mansur for the linked article.
I have read it, and I fully agree with him (and with you).
Best regards from Spain.
Interesting article by Dugin: https://english.almayadeen.net/articles/analysis/from-special-operation-to-full-scale-war
Well worth reading. Thanks!
I started listening to Killary and stopped to go to the bathroom and puke, for real.
I believe that comparison of Mr. Putin and Mr. Stalin is valid because both men are great patriots who had no interest in conquering the Europe only in the development of Russia/USSR and who are demonized for the same reason: The US need for a (Cold) War against Russia.
USA can’t dominate in Europe without it. And, USA sure loves domination. So, Putin/Stalin shall be a satanic creature that is used in the propaganda to scare the Europeans to seek protection from the brave, kind, and generous Uncle Sam.

The Ukraine war is merely the latest attempt by Zionists to take Russia’s wealth.
The first Zionist attempt was the so-called “Russian Revolution” which was not that much Russian… it was Bolchevik and 80-95% of Bolchevik leaders were Zionist and, more specifically, Khazars who hated Tsarist Russia because of the Pale of Settlement.
The second Zionist attempt to take Russia’s wealth took place during the 1990s under Yeltsin. Wall St bankers persuaded the Russian government to distribute to the public shares of Russian companies that were state property. Russians had no idea what to do with these share certificates and sold them to Zionist investors funded by Zionist bankers… hence, the oligarchs were born…!
In 2000, Putin ascended to power and addressed the oligarch issue. Some went to jail for tax evasion, others agreed to be docile…
The current war is the final chapter and attempt to destroy Russia. I wrote “final” because Putin’s latest speech made it clear to all Russians that there cannot be a Russian defeat without their own destruction.
The Russian strategy has been mostly about persuading Ukrainian infantry to fight Russian artillery…!!! And Ukrainians obliged…
It is sad that so many people have been butchered… but that is what has happened in all Zionist-funded wars… and those doing the dying are not Zionist.
“This just a 21st century version of the Domino Theory. It is Domino 2.0 and Putin is the new Vietnam.”
Indeed. It now seems so obvious. And yet I never thought about it myself.
Thanks, Larry. A most excellent and concise refutation of US imperial propaganda. A couple more names need to be added to your list list of US targeted leaders: Sukarno – Indonesia, and last but certainly not least, Muammar Gadaffi – Libya.
You forgot John Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy, and Martin Luther King too.

This is a declaration that Euro-NATO has signed onto a forever war with Russia, “Until death do us part.” The question now is how long will it be before Russia relinquishes denial and accepts the complete reality of those terms? After that how close to taking Brussels does the Russian army have to get before Euro-NATO realizes the actual ramifications of the terms they laid down?
It seems as if the US wants to force Russia to take all of Ukraine. This is wickedness to prolong the agony and bleed out Ukraine. The West is pushing, pushing and pushing the world towards oblivion and the sad thing is that the US will add the extinction of millions to its already gruesome record, including the its own population.
Joseph B is very much on the mark as to who is pulling the strings in the USA now and Europe. There is a group of Zionists and others of a similar ilk who bribe and pull strings via the central banking system (Basel/BIS) and have achieved power and control over almost the entire planet. They control the media and the message and remain behind the scenes to most – but not all – people. Do not be afraid. They will not succeed in their WEF-hyped plans to make us all slaves. At a certain point there will be a critical mass of opponents globally and they will be blocked, arrested, prosecuted and even killed in battle with those of us who are okay with some excessive greed here and there, but not with omnipotent power to enslave us and force us into a dytopian nightmare. Not for me now and not for my kids later either. Do not be afraid. Get informed and don’t get cold feet as you peel the petals back and start to understand things that make your skin crawl.
If you want a very concise record of USA coups and related foreign “adventures” you should read William Blum’s Rogue State.

“Just because people like Clinton and Biden insist that Putin is a dictator in the mold of Stalin, it does not magically transform delusional belief into reality.’
Metropolitan Luke (Kovalenko) of Zaphorozhie commented on this in a recent telegram post:
“This is not a fable, but something that really happened to me. Once, my godson asked me to buy him a toy horse. I went to the store and asked the saleswoman if they have a horse. ‘We do’, I heard the affirmative answer. A minute later she brought me a cute stuffed donkey—a tail with bushy fur on the end, a donkey face and ears—all of it typically donkey-like. ‘But this is a donkey’, I protested. The woman showed me the tag on the toy, where it was in fact written, ‘horse’. ‘Well, forgive me,’ I went on, “but can’t you see for yourself that this is a donkey?’ She replied in a threatening tone, “Mister!!! (Incidentally, I was wearing a cassock). ‘Don’t you know how to read? It’s written here clearly: HORSE.’
While there is indeed an American set of neo-imperialist , in this case I am not so sure they are driving the agenda, or being used .
Ask yourself : who gains if the entire toolkit of US and NATO is unveiled (from freezing bank accounts to refusing use of SWIFT) ?
Who gains if the arms and ammunition inventory is depleted ?
Who gains if the the ordinary citizens of NATO countries, including US, are weary of the stresss and burden of supporting a war ?
There is one other imperialist in the game : CCP China.

For those who want to look deeper into the USA as a colonialist power check out “The Empire on which the Sun Never Set” by the Canadian historian Cynthia Chung. She makes the case that the egalitarian, anti-colonialist international finance & trade regime FDR planned to set up after the war was hijacked by the British when they convinced Truman et al help restore its & other European empires according to soft fascist (a la Mussolini, not Hitler) lines that had much support in the UK by the likes of Oswald Mosely and the pre-war Winston Churchill. The deconolialization movement had gained too much momentum between the wars to be stopped, however, the USA under the cover of the Cold War was able to stand up the stealth colonialism first described by Michael Hudson in his 1972 book “Super Imperialism: The Economic Strategy of American Empire.” SI remains so pertinent Hudson published the 3rd edition two years ago. Both books are available at Amazon. A word of warning, however. The typeface in the dead tree version of Chung’s book is ridiculously small. Get the Kindle version instead.

“The truth of the matter is that the U.S. and Europe are bona fide imperialists and are ignoring Putin’s actual record. Instead, the West is engaging in gross hypocrisy and psychological projection — attributing to Putin what they themselves have done and are doing… ”
It is refreshing to the soul of people who want truth and justice in international relations to find a good number of former US officials standing for truth and justice – regardless of where truth and justice be found. Russia, in our days, stands for the age-old moral and social and national and international consensus, and these US gentlemen are not shy to express their approval of such path, while promoting it to the whole world.
Honour and blessing to them all.
