Tyrone Biggums is a character created by the comic genius Dave Chappelle. I think the following video is an apt metaphor for role the United States is playing on the global stage. Essentially, the United States behaves like a crack/meth addict, living in squalor, celebrating perversity and ranting at others about how they need to clean up their acts and behave like Americans. The hypocrisy is off the charts.
Note, the feces depicted in the Chappelle video are not genuine. However, the feces littering the streets of San Francisco are. Chappelle wrote this script 20 years ago. He’s a prophet.
My inspiration for writing this comes from a blogger, Fred Reed. Here is a portion of his rant:
Great. Just ever-lovin’pea-pickin’ great. In LA some sixty thousand people–who really knows?–sleep on the sidewalks, in tents, cardboard boxes, sleeping bags, or not much of anything. Others live in their cars. The same in San Fran, Seattle, St. Louis. There being no bathrooms, they defecate as the urge hits, and where. What choice do they have? Some are junkies, others crazy, many just with no jobs or jobs that don’t pay enough for a room.
Meanwhile Biden sends billions to Ukraine, lots of billions, our billions, while America crumbles within. A corrupt, senescent, second-rate lawyer mysteriously empowered to bankrupt his own country to benefit a corrupt, dirtball country of no importance to America.
How is this possible? Why do Americans tolerate it?
Because they have no choice. Americans have no influence over their government except in things that do not matter to that government.
Recently my stepdaughter Natalia, Mexican, went to Austin to visit friends. She returned and pronounced America a truly odd country. All the houses were the same, so how could you find your way home at night? And there were lots of people, she said, living under bridges and on the sidewalks. This she thought strange. She had never seen such a thing in Mexico. In twenty years, neither have I.
Meanwhile Biden sends fortunes to Ukraine. How is this? Couldn’t we have an American President? Just once? Someone who cares about people in his own country? No prospect of this is in sight
In America there are people, lots of them, who don´t have enough to eat, or barely do. Appalachia, the Rust Belt, the rural Deep South. I wonder whether Biden has enough to eat. I wonder whether he cares that many of his citizens do not. No, come to think of it, I don’t wonder. But he cares, cares deeply, about Ukraine.
America crumbles, but Biden is going to rebuild Ukraine. Our trains look like something out of Turner Classic Movies. The passenger versions, across the continent, are nice, slow but appealing as period pieces. Chatanooga Choochoo, all that. They are also primitive and badly maintained. We have had four freight derailments in a month or so.
No, make that five. This morning we read of another, in Arizona. This is Third World, pushing Fourth. But Biden is going to do what it takes, for as long as it takes. For Ukraine.
I encourage you to read the rest of his rant. I fully endorse it.
For those of you who live in countries outside the United States I want you to understand that a significant number of American citizens have swallowed the anti-Russian, anti-Chinese propaganda and they see no way out other than a confrontation. We are in a dangerous period where the United States has lost its bearings while China and Russia have united to fight back against this threat.
That makes Ukraine Clayton Bigsby 🤣
LOL exponent ten!
C Bigsby–One of the most amazing demonstration of the power of humour!
Dave Chappelle has some outstanding skills.. Far above the average!
If we consider all the ( disgusting) efforts made by the cancel mob to shut him up, then we see the real picture of the intellectual decline in North America! And Europe seems to be just as bad or even worst!
Nice! I was thinking that in many ways Clayton Bigsby is also a great metaphor for the US today…blind to their own hypocrisy, and outraged at anyone who would dare point it out. For example, supporting brutal dictators and destabilizing, meddling, election rigging, coup-ing governments all across the planet…while constantly shrieking about “democracy” and hyper-ventilating over bogus Russia conspiracies. Or illegally invading and occupying countries on a regular basis, while expressing outrage over Russia acting to defend its own neighborhood from anti-Russia political and military movements. Or rigging the markets and global finance/trade to favor their own cronies while ranting about a “rules based order.” And so on. And Europe is the guy in the audience whose head explodes when the mask finally comes off.
New here, first time this evening. I am in John’s camp of hypocrisy police, or should I say “Spotters.” In last three press. elections I voted for third party candidates. Voted for Obama on his 1st. presidential go but he killed WAAAAAY to many kids and other innocents!!! Next two times I voted for Jill Stein. I cannot vote for Trump or any one who supports government approved/ applied TORTURE. I know way too much about torture from my work life in over 40 countrys. It’s the innocent who suffer when torture is their tool. Because they have no information to barter. The Guilty can trade information for a good deal, first class food and accommodations within the system. So I won’t be able to support Trump or DeSantis either because of their torture support..!!!!!
“Great. Just ever-lovin’pea-pickin’ great. In LA some sixty thousand people–who really knows?–sleep on the sidewalks, in tents, cardboard boxes, sleeping bags, or not much of anything.”
That’s okay. Nobody who has ever had to live out of doors survives long. Sixty thousand people, or 600-thousand people, even 60-million people.
Oh, it will be bad, for while. But one day you will wake up and wonder why it is so quiet, and the streets are so empty. And your house is the only house anybody is living in on your street, and in your neighborhood. And you will remember American cities like Detroit during the GFC and shrug your shoulders.
Oh well. Still here.
A significant number of US citizens have not swallowed the propaganda but do not care. It is a cult/religious imperative with them to say whatever their political tribe says even though, or especially though, they know it’s nonsense. In fact they are showing their loyalty by endorsing rubbish and they know it. I know some of these people; at one time they were friends of mine, until they turned from being anti war to raving warmongering imperialists the moment Barack Hussein Obama took over from George W Shrub at the White Louse.
Excellent point. Well put. However, what you are describing is a relatively recent development. Probably the result of Americans no longer speaking a common language, coming at each other from a broken culture, a dysfunctional society, a 2-tiered legal system, and a completely crazed government. Indifferent to human life. All human life. And a government that has become what my grandparents had fought against in World War II.
It wasn’t like this during the Viet Nam War. My Dad was a retired officer from the US Army that had used the GI Bill to become a doctor. Almost every TV show out there the characters were wearing military uniforms — “I Dream of Jeannie.” “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.” “The Wild Wild West.” “Lost in Space” and Major Don West. Nobody was threatened by any of that.
But we had a relatively speaking reliable mainstream media. We had Walter Cronkite. Eric Sevareid. “The New York Times.” We could still talk with one another.
During the 1960s all the American people asked was that its government get itself straight with the people. The government today . . . I don’t even know what to say about that. There’s nobody to complain to anymore.
That’s all over. Dead and gone. It’s become a species thing. Press the God damn button.
“… you are describing is a relatively recent development. ”
Depends on your definition of recent. Hatred and contempt for the Chinese and the Russians in America can be traced back more than a 100 years.
Yes, you are right. The ‘progressives’ who were driving around in 2004 with bumper stickers reading ‘Question Authority’, ‘No blood for oil!’ and ‘Regime change begins at home’ are the same exact people now promoting WW3 to ‘protect democracy’ (which means to keep Zelensky from publicizing details of the Democrats’ Kiev money laundering operation.)
Most Trump voters, meanwhile, seem to ‘take their cues from Sean Hannity rather than Steve Bannon’ (as Larry once put it), circling the wagons and opening fire wildly in the general direction of any media-promoted foreign threat.
It seems clear that Americans have lost the will to hold their rulers accountable. Somebody else is going to have to reign in Washington’s psychopaths.
Agreed!
Most people are only concerned with paying their bills, taxes.. They are too busy..
MSM is just like fastfood… Void of content, full of propaganda and lies..
So for them, there is only one SAFE AND EFFECTIVE solution : listening to CNN or Fox News and to remain convinced that Ukraine is the ultimate defender of Democracy and EU values!
They will not read what is available on this great website, it would force them to use their brain!
Thinking seems to be too painful and pointless! So they will simply go along with the Narrative!
Carlin was the real prophet. I remember watching him as a young man in the 80s he came to our campus (this is before college cancelling comedians like Chappelle) and thinking jeez this mofo is pessimistic. But I think more Americans can see it now.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtgfzzwoyK4&t=3s
Carlin was an ass.
Wow,you really are a Wizard!
Maybe even a Grand Wizard.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Wizard
Thank you, Mr. Democracy Ranger. I will adjust my secret decoder ring to match your stupidity and ignorance.
Carlin was a liberal atheist and he was spot on correct with his perspective of humans. I saw Carlin live in Richmond, VA during the Reagan years. As a conservative I disagreed with some of his stuff but frankly I laughed so damn hard my sides hurt for several days. Years later as an older man I can see that Carlin had nailed it pretty good and accurate about the stupidity of humans and their behavior.
If something was a piece of shit, thought up by a piece of shit and portrayed as a chocolate bar…Carlin would tell you it was a piece of shit and tell you there was a problem with your thinking.
Thanks Mr. Brooks !
George Carlin was also a great writer !
A visionary who was ahead of ‘his time’ and of course, his intellectual genius
at the level of a Mark Twain or a Charles Chaplin…
The Deep State keeps it hidden, because now in 2023 its social and political thought is more dangerous than ever… for the Elite…
and that is relevant? He was a comic genius (and I don’t give a rat’s ass if he was an ass or not).
I’m an east European. What Carlin foretold for US in the 80s we experienced in the 90s. The only comparable comedic genius I can think of is https://youtu.be/7-Y4Qrqkq3U
Brandon did have a Freudian and say I don’t work for you.
The GAE is more like Ralph Wiggums.
Y’all got anymore of those printing presses? (honk!)
Ayn Rand’s novel Atlas Shrugged foresaw this state of affairs in USA in 1957. Most of her predictions have come true. The de-linking of US Dollar from the gold standard, the deliberate dumbing down of America (https://www.amazon.com/Deliberate-Dumbing-Down-America-Chronological/dp/0945019734), the use of Government funds for “scientific research” aimed at controlling populations and trouble makers, the secret machinations of “business leaders” to loot the natural wealth of foreign countries by supporting their corrupt rulers (shades of Ukraine, African countries), the subversion and conversion of news media into Government propaganda outlets, the debasement of ethics in general and sexual mores in particular, de-industrialization in the name of “progress”, denouncing excellence of any kind, academic in particular, as “anti-people” (shades of the woke culture). It is all there with a detailed look at what makes this possible.
I strongly recommend everybody who visits this and similar blog to buy or borrow the book and read it. WARNING – after the first 50 pages, you may not be able to put down the book and do anything else until it is finished. So don’t start reading until you have two completely free days.
Years ago, I forced myself to read that book. It was the dullest, most boring thing I ever made myself do, and I only did it necause because I was STUPID enough to believe in Ayn Rand’s libertarian idiocy.
The characters are one dimensional cartoons who make one l-o-n-g speech after another. You’ll get more excitement out of reading the Book of Leviticus.
Agreed. I found it extremely hard going. She uses 1000 words where 5 would suffice.
Ditto that. (Cause all the successful countries are the libertarian ones, right? 🤣)
Ayn Rand hated libertarians. She founded the philosophy of Objectivism. Objectivism is not libertarianism, although there are some similarities.
I actually found it difficult to keep reading as it’s of VERY LOW quality and the ridiculous sex scenes.. christ.
Ravings of a deranged tsarist immigrant.. it ain’t 1984.
I think that you might be referring to The Fountainhead re the sex scenes. THAT book was, silly. Childish. And I gave up after a few chapters, despite trying….
I tried because Atlas Shrugged was a good book, in my opinion. It did encapsulate how the west is going now.
She was a child when the bolsheviks took over and disrupted her upbringing. Our turn to be the evil empire
… disrupted her upbringing… really…
… by allowing her to have college education …
Fully agree with you.
Rand espoused a philosophy of extreme selfishness, derided the idea of community, and was a prime example of a cancer on society. Kinda fitting that cancer was what brought about her demise as she depended on welfare in her latter days. Of course being of the Tribe, that’s hardly surprising. See Gilad Atzmon.

Oh, dear
Please illuminate oneself by looking into one William Edward Hickman and his considerable influence upon Ayn’s writing and thinking her entire life.
I suggest reading the post titled, “Romancing the Stone Cold Killer”.
Don’t waste any time, though, looking for Russian criticism about her body of work.
There isn’t any.
Russia, which revere’s and celebrates it’s artists does not hold her in anything but the lowest regard.
She is described as a crude, sophomoric writer that tells different versions of the same basic story.
I’m sure that the fact that she was so enamored of a psychopathic killer has some bearing on the lack of regard for someone who is so creepily popular in the West.
Blessings

I found the article you referenced and it does not paint a pretty picture of Ayn Rand. When you place yourself above all others then it can lead to an evil outcome.
http://michaelprescott.freeservers.com/romancing-the-stone-cold.html
Just read it also. A total sociopath.
Fitting that a large segment of America idolises her. Fits also the picture of US foreign policy and of Israel’s attitude towards Palestinians, America, and the rest of the world.
Not likely a large segment of U.S. population know anything about her. Like Her or not an educated person would know who she was. Not many educated people in the U.S just a few who took the time and effort to self educate.
Meanwhile, on CNN there is not a single story (days later!) about France and the fact that more than a million people are burning down Paris and other places in protest against pension reform. EU human rights commissioner is concerned about excessive use of force in the “garden” on demonstrators. How quickly will EU/USA devolve into the worst oppressive regimes when challenged? (not a real question, the answer is obvious)…
Estimated as high 3.5 million and increasing
Wished we would do that here
I’m sitting on ready
But we are a notable people for talking
And what about the Dutch farmers? We never hear about them here in the States. Because our media is fully captured and controlled, that serves only as a mouthpiece of propaganda for the “Powers That Be” (PTB).
Where have we seen all this before?
“How quickly will EU/USA devolve into the worst oppressive regimes when challenged?”
About as quickly as it took Nazi Germany to become Nazi Germany — about 52-days from the time Hitler came to power. About as long as it took that Nazi, midget, moocher, drug addict Zelinsky to revoke all news media except one — the party’s. The same amount of time it took Zelinsky to cancel all political parties except one — his own. The same amount of time Zelinsky needed before conscripting women, children and old people to his meat grinder army.
And who is this Nazi regime’s biggest ally? The United States of America. These people should hang.
Where have we heard and seen all this before?
Supposedly Russia’s SMO had as one of its purposes to aid the Ukrainians of Russian ethnicity who were being persecuted and killed by the Ukrainian government. Now the Ukrainian government is conscripting these Russian ethnics by the tens of thousands, giving then almost no training and sending them to be killed by Russian forces. Thus Russia is helping (witting or not) with the Kiev ethnic cleansing operation.

Atlas is shrugging here in America. Ayn Rand saw this coming when she wrote her masterpiece, “Atlas Shrugged”, 70 years ago.
I grew up in a time when passenger trains were privately owned and well maintained; where the staff was helpful and courteous, and the dining car chefs made the best grits and redeye gravy for breakfast, graciously served with real ceramic plates and heavy silverware and cloth napkins and tablecloths. When the success of your business depends on pleasing the customers rather than a bunch of political bureaucrats you tend to do a better job since the customer unlike the taxpayer can take his business elsewhere.
Art Thomas – By ‘privately owned trains’, I assume you mean owned by private individuals and not BlackRock and Vanguard, and that you down mean public as in government owned?
I confess I have not read Ayn Rand, but what we are witnessing are capitalism in its last stages. Government has ceased to function as a representative ‘of the people, by the people, for the people’ and is a complete tool of a global billionaire kleptocracy. The problem with a strong individualist philosophy as Ayn Rand supposedly promoted is that ultimately the rich get richer and the poor poorer so that one ends up where we are today.
Liberalism, wokeism, BLM, etc. are not genuine leftists movements like we saw with MLK, but controlled opposition planted by and working for the neoliberals and neoconservatives.
This is not the last stage of capitalism. We haven’t had capitalism in the US since FDR. Capitalism is just another word for freedom where you own what you own and you decide what to do with it without being able to use force. Capitalism has been dead a very long time.
Alex,i would say not since Woodrow Wilson>
Capitalism is simply the art of putting capital to work to create a profit. No rocket science to it and it’s hardly dead in America.
You speak of something else, oranges not apples.
Indeed – free market capitalism vanished in the USA many decades ago.
We have 75-85% of GDP is very much state controlled.
What you have is capitalism for the poor but socialism for the rich. The poor live or die from one wage packet to the next, and pay through the nose for everything – the rich are rescued from the consequences of their folly by the money of the state, collected from the mass population.
This is helped by the successful propaganda from the rich to convince the poor that ‘socialism’ and ‘marxism’ are dirty words and describe their enemies.
We’ve now gone through a generational phase of Soft Fascism, where Government and Crony Corporations tried and enjoyed being sleeping partners.
Now we have crystalized into Hard Fascism where Government and Crony Corporation control Media, the Internet, the Judicial System, including the Courts.
Elial,
“Government has ceased to function as a representative ‘of the people, by the people, for the people’ and is a complete tool of a global billionaire kleptocracy.”
No doubt about it. As early the 1870’s, according to American historians like Gabriel Kolko, big Railroads welcomed state intervention and regulation because the free market was a threat to their market dominance. Vigorous competitors were entering the market with attractive products and lower prices threatening. Rand was opposed to this state intervention. She railed against it in her books and public speeches and interviews. Her strong individualism said that every person no matter who they are is sovereign, a self-owner. So many people now get rich through political power and a dishonest monetary system and less through entrepreneurial skills, competent work, and honest dealings with one’s fellow human beings. Rand was opposed to the former and supported the latter idea: people have a right to wealth honestly earned and it is the state’s job to protect that right not violate it. We are not to be treated as though we are property of the state. Too bad though, these days we are just sheep to be fleeced to fight their wars and to fund their favorite project which is to keep us ordinary folks under their thumb. But we love freedom and we learn ways to bypass these dictators and parasites.
To answer your first question: The passenger railroad companies during my childhood in the late 40’s and 50’s were private companies owned and operated by private individuals whose stock I assume was publicly traded. They were not owned by the state as they are now and I have no idea the extent of government regulations at that time and to what extent it inhibited competition.
Rand was elitist right-wing semi-fascist clown – a person deeply embittered by the loss of her families privileges and property to the new Communist government of revolutionary Russia. No friend of the poor or working classes.
How long has USA been conducting Hybrid Wars against us, the citizens of this country?
Since Big Media [and more recently in history, Big Tech] are facto and de-facto government agents in these ongoing crimes, I suppose news stories about it may be lacking.
How is it that some fear foreign actors — and this fear, direct result of USA conducting hybrid wars against us? — & How is this problem fixed? Acknowledging the Stockholm Syndrome Pandemic in USA could be a start. . . .
-30-
“How long has USA been conducting Hybrid Wars against us, the citizens of this country?”
If this is not a rhetorical question, the answer depends on whether one count Native Americans as “citizens of this country” or not.
Who may again lead this vast land according to nature and nature’s way.
In the mean time, horror and pain, beyond words.
& A.I.: antithetical to nature, art, truth, faith, life, meaning and . . . .
-30-
Right!
When the Europeans “discovered”/ invaded the new continent, this should be described as a war crime. Natives ( both in North and South America) were the victims!
And what kind of propaganda was fed to the public since then?
Medias, education and Hollywood were just hammering the same Narrative… For decades….Natives are the bad guys and the glorious cavalry is there to bring back Law and Order.
Now, the bad guys are the Russians and the Chinese!
Larry is absolutely right. The citizens are just hostages. The Deep State does not care at all!
It is a uniparty system in the US. Voting may look like a noble action, but after a while people understand that it is a waste of time. Either they vote for crooks and liars or they vote for liars and crooks!
The more things change, the more they stay the same. US Declaration of Independence says:
“… the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.”
Nowdays savages are Russians, Serbs, Syrians, Lybians, Iraqis, Iranians, North Koreans, Chinese, and everyone else that does not bow down deep enough. If USA manages to take over Pakistan we may even get back to Indian Savages (this time from India). In that case CNN and others can just copy paste that quote, as long as they replace “sexes” with “genders”.
Thanks for providing us with this quotation! Never heard about it before.. It says a lot about the mindset of the Elites back then.
CNN will eventually try to convince their audience that the Russians ( and other anti-nato savages ) deserve their fate simply because they are racist, misogynist and transphobic!! Being woke allows them to insult and denigrate anybody, anywhere.
We are going downhill!
I do not believe the USA is Babylon and I do not believe we are in the times of Tribulation but this sure sounds like the USA. “And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.”
One of my favorite and constantly reread books is “Alas, Babylon”. A great post-nuclear war read.
To read Revelation, you also have to read Daniel. In Daniel we are introduced first to the vision of world empires. Head of Gold (Babylon), Chest of Silver (Persia), Loins of Bronze (Greece) and Legs of Iron (Rome), feet of clay (?). Following that in Daniel you have an introduction to the beast that again appears in Revelation. The Whore of Babylon actually rides on the back (or literally on the 7 heads) of that Beast. Very interesting imagery.
It is so interesting how the idea of Rome has persisted across much of the world for 2000 years. Russia has an old tradition of seeing itself as the 3rd Rome (Latin Rome collapsed in 476, Byzantium – the Eastern Rome that outlasted Latin Rome by almost 1000 years – in 1490’s) with Muscovy and Orthodox Russia seeing itself as the 3rd Rome.
Returning to Revelation, the Whore of Babylon and your comment: as you say, it’s wise to be careful about believing that the final hours of the latter days are at our doorstep. But with so many pieces are aligning themselves it’s worth digging deeper into the scriptures.
When Jesus rode into Jerusalem just prior to his death and resurrection he was fulfilling a very specific and exact prophecy in Daniel and yet – as far as we know from the gospels, the officials of Judaism missed it even though the prophecy in Daniel is much less opaque than the language of Revelation.
Perhaps the lesson for us is that fulfillment hides from our understanding because we all see what we want to see or what we are told to see by authority.
One last interesting point. In Revelation 17:16-17 we are told that the Beast (and the 10 authorities/kings/rulers whom he controls) hate the woman (who rides on them) and they bring her to ruin BECAUSE “God has put it into their hearts”.
There is a certain mad compulsion in many of the decisions in the west these days. It’s had to escape the notion that bad decisions are being made deliberately as if there is some agenda the actors do not understand that is being whispered into their thoughts.
it is obvious from the book of revelation that end times babylon is the center of the world and will be destroyed by fire in just one day.
no one can fathom how can great nation be destroyed by fire in one day back then
now with the thousands of nuclear warheads at the hand of heroic russia and china , it is obvious the revelation is foretelling the nuclear fires in babylon
the bible call out believers OUT from babylon lest they will taste God’s wrath. This is not niniveh where there is option for repentance , this is babylon and just like sodom and gomorrah , the faithfull will need to leave before the event of destruction as there is no stopping the wrath of God
Well, not yet, and for the sake of the mass of US citizens who are divorced from the evil ‘Empire of Lies’ I hope never, but for the 10% or so who participate in the schemes of the empire, even that would be too good.
And the other 90% need to wise up fast to save themselves.
Larry, you have a beautiful way of mirroring culture to reality.
On another note, Syria is heating up. I wondered when this would blow. Assad has secured the country except for the portion where the US is stealing oil from. Turkey ain’t exactly happy with us as we try to do a color revolution against Erdogan. So, no help there. Assad has to try sometimes. And we are over extended.
Is the US military with transgenders bravely drag queen prancing going to insert into Syria? And when that happens, where does the next shoe drop? Israel is getting ready to blow. Either internally or externally. Netanyahu is going to need a war to secure his evil kingdom. And Iran is the obvious target. Unless Netanyahu just goes full genocidal on the Palestinians. You know. A 10% operational uptick on murder.
North Korea is always looking for an opportunity for shear skull fuckery. And at what point does China look around and say, “Maximum US overextension”. Time to go. We couldn’t beat the Vietnamese. Maybe we can beat our own people. We got all tuned up on those 30 Tibetan monks. We be ready.
Did you see where Milley said we now need $2 Trillion for the Pentagon to confront China? 1 to 2 Trillion. A budgetary nothing.
And the ole USA needs something to take people’s minds off the coming recession and bank failures. Nothing like a juicy war. Kill off some of those youngsters that get all riled up when they realize there is no future in this country.
Good thing I’m a drinking man. Anything looks funny with a buzz on.
I am trying to recall exactly when Assad invited the US to invade and occupy his country and steal the oil??
I remember John Kerry and his wife dining with President Assad and his wife at a fancy Damascus restaurant.
Then I guess Assad crossed a redline??
Strange how the US steals Syria’s oil and gets away with it.
I suggest you read Seymour Hersh’s article “The Redirection” from 2007, where he outlines US plans to launch the war in Syria. It’s interesting how these wars take years to get underway, and are meticulously planned every step of the way.
https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2007/03/05/the-redirection
a bit of caution needed why reading Hersh , while what he said might be truth and fact , it is obvious he didnt reveal everything and possibly muddle few facts to hide his sources and he still an american who still think the world is america;s right to destroy and rule
Hersh’s articles should be seen as food / fodder for internal infighting between US elites..
You are wrong about Sy’s world view. His writings do not support your claim.
it is international law founded “on RULES”;
I make the RULES, and I decide who has to respect them until I change them;
and if some criminal dictator doesn’t respect them he will become FREE and DEMOCRATIC with bombs.
I remember John Kerry and his wife dining with President Assad and his wife at a fancy Damascus restaurant.
Jihad Johnny? I thought that was McCain. Guess there are two.
…..and never forget: “ISIS is on our side now.”
Not mine, buddy boy. Off to the Cuban gulag called Gitmo for you. Have a cigar on me.
I like a good stiff drink too. One positive about a nuclear war is that the sunsets should have very radiant colors.
Every once in a while in the past few years the song “Dead Flag Blues” by Godspeed You! Black Emperor come to mind.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGKc3T7OVHE
— lyrics —
the car’s on fire and there’s no driver at the wheel
and the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides
and a dark wind blows
the government is corrupt
and we’re on so many drugs
with the radio on and the curtains drawn
we’re trapped in the belly of this horrible machine
and the machine is bleeding to death
the sun has fallen down
and the billboards are all leering
and the flags are all dead at the top of their poles
it went like this:
the buildings tumbled in on themselves
mothers clutching babies picked through the rubble
and pulled out their hair
the skyline was beautiful on fire
all twisted metal stretching upwards
everything washed in a thin orange haze
i said: “kiss me, you’re beautiful –
these are truly the last days”
you grabbed my hand and we fell into it
like a daydream or a fever
we woke up one morning and fell a little further down –
for sure it’s the valley of death
i open up my wallet
and it’s full of blood
Very apt, those lines always stayed with me even though the song was a while ago. Great song
Great rant and spot on. I left the US twenty years ago and the country is unrecognisable to me whenever I return. Asian countries are a paradise in comparison. I encourage people to visit Shanghai, Seoul, Singapore, and other Asian cities and towns. The safety, cleanliness, infrastructure and services far exceed those found in the US.
Moscow and St Petersburg are also stunning, not at all ‘gas stations’ but beautiful modern cities which celebrate their histories. Take a look at online photos of the metro stations in Moscow. They are works of art.
Unfortunately, the US is taking down Canada, Australia, and the EU with it. The UK doesn’t warrant mentioning- it already is far down the toilet swirl.
No joy in writing this, except I hope the multipolar world prevails. It is the only chance for humanity.
Canada needed no help. even Can conservatives, since Harper, are left of centre. Pollievre will say anything for avote
I think ‘left’ and ‘right’ have lost all meaning and are deceptive.
Unfortunately I think you are correct about Pollievre. Trudeau doesn’t seem very troubled by him; he knows the elites are grooming his successor and that he (Trudeau) will be richly rewarded for his service.
Canada is the 51st state without the burdensome Constitutional privileges and gives the US a second vote at the U.N.
Very acurate!
All major political parties were proud and excited to send money, weapons, tanks to Ukraine ( and the Azovites ). Even the leftist NDP is pro-war!! LOL
Canada ( political leaders) barely deserves the title of being the 51st state. Maybe after some improvement, Canada will reach the status of anonymous colony acting as a lapdog of the 51st state!!!
Canadians own CBC and they will be happy!
Always enjoy reading your comments BTW
Another deluded American?/Canadian? who has swallowed the rich’s propaganda that ‘Liberals’ are ‘left’ and that the ‘left’ is the enemy. Liberals are not left, and the left is not the enemy, unless you are one of the 1%.
face it volks the average American is not very bright, no child left behind. Canadians also. the leaders push the buttons of patriotism and globalism, self-agrandizement and riches are their real goals.
Yep and a large part of the American problem is the citizens are so damn far in debt they do not dare push back. They have been brain washed into thinking they need the lifestyle of the rich and famous but on a debt budget. A debt they are still paying off when they die. Theri minds are consumed with just getting by and living for the next thrill, which of course is purchased on debt.
Damn foolish.
lol. I have said for some time that the collapse values accerated with the show Life Styles of the Rich and Famous. sitting on the couch thinking, I want that! I deserve that! Lying on the couch. you put it perfectly.
“… dare not push back.”
I don’t know if it’s about debt alone. How exactly can USians push back? What, call or write our “representatives”? And what then to write about when everyone is so well informed; they just laugh and send your name off to Twitter to get you cancelled. Maybe soon we’ll be getting drugged forcibly because it’s not healthy to be out of the tribe, right? It’s for our own good.
Violence: 2. Injury done to that which is entitled to respect,
reverence, or observance; profanation; infringement;
unjust force; outrage; assault.
[1913 Webster]
No wonder everyone checks out for whatever thrills they can get.
EU is the answer. Yeah you read it right. EU, as in …. Exit Ukraine!

Found this video of NYT’s investigation – identified Russia’s 234th regiment killing at least 36 people on Bucha. Though the video shows proof of at most 8 I think.
Doesnt come as a surprise to me- war makes soldiers do stupid things.
The main surprise is anyone believes the NYT.
Bucha has long been debunked. The Russians evacuated the town 3 days before the bodies appeared on the streets.
I know the Russian version of Bucha and for the broad part of it, I think it makes sense- i.e. that the Ukrainian army killed most of the civilians within a day or two after the Russians withdrew at end Mar 2023.
But this NYT video is not quite the same- one, it has videos during the Russian occupation of Bucha. two, there are parts where it shows tanks firing on a cyclist- ref 19:00 minute mark and eye witness accounts of civilians led into houses and dying thereafter. there are also videos of Russian vehicles parked beside civilian houses when defending the street (21:40 mark).
however, this video focuses on only one street defended by the 234th regiment for a short period of time until the Russians withdrew.
so yeah, war is not black and white… its just the nature of war.
And the Western MMM makes the sheeple believe in propaganda like this.
and you really belive this BS?????
Bucha was Kiev units executing starving citizens for accepting Russian food packages – period.
If the lies from NYT don’t come as a surprise to you I’d suggest you need some reprogramming.
Many of those who believe the NYT can be seen in the Clayton Bigsby video!!!
It would be fun to watch a remake of this masterpiece. Some Azov/Right sector flags could be used to decorate the walls… Plus a picture of the funerals of the ukrainian hero Da Vinci.. A tribute to the EU values as they say..
Let’s go Clayton instead of LGB
There is also this guy who was hoping to join Nato ( as a Freedom Fighter ), but his head exploded. He will not fulfil his destiny..
They need to put that on a less censored platform. I don’t have a Google account and don’t want one, so can’t do the age verification. But I did find this video that I could watch without signing in:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SK9AMFNDBw
Why anyone would waste time reading listening to people straight face lie to them is ming boggling
Particularly when they know full well these are the same ones who among so many other things ( lies) said the vaccine is safe and protects you from a virus
The point is they lying for decades how do you think we got where we’re at today
It’s called thought control.
That you read or watch anything produced by NYT pretty much says it all.
That you seek to keep the Bucha BS alive says whatever was not captured by the first sentence.
NYT’s investigation, huh. Was it anything like that long, detailed diorama at the very beginning of ‘the troubles’ about how Syria launched sarin-charged bottle rockets, defying the proven rules of aerodynamics. A country with such an unheard of capability must be conquered to maintain the rules-based order, of course.
As they say south of the border; Bucha fue mucha mierda.
ok this is obvious troll , so obvious because even the most delusional useful idiots from the west know NYT is mouthpiece propaganda dispenser of US empire.
and refering to a made up bucha massacre is another sign of obvious troll
more likely this is the cubicle mate of ‘eric newhill’ account the astroturfer/hasbara paid to spread FUD on SONAR21
We have cultivated a narcissistic “me” culture where everything is for our enjoyment of life. “Life, liberty and happiness” for me, “liberty” meaning do what you want with no responsibility. People bought into it. Narcissism is rooted in insecurity, and that insecurity enables control. It’s like a huge psychological operation run amok. Back in the 90’s a sociologist Reg Bibby published stuff showing that the majority believed a risk free life was possible, and kids believed they could do the work they wanted to do in school, get the marks they wanted, and get the jobs they wanted. Many, if not most, don’t make any connection between what they contribute and what they receive. They just “expect.”
IQ’s are going down, and the lower the IQ, the more likely a person is to associate with “woke” shit. The education system has been dumbed down (deliberately, I believe), kids are trained to be extrinsically motivated so they can be controlled more easily, and they seem more like a bunch of zombies now. I wonder what will happen when the “system” can’t give them what they want anymore. That’ll be interesting.
I can see why more people are becoming “preppers.”
No child left behind policy= virtually all left behind, woohoo. L owest common denominator EQUITY
“No child left behind” always sounded like a moto of some pedophilic organization. It turned out that it is.
It is a pity. The USA has everything necessary, without depending on anyone, to be a great country, leader and beacon for humanity, but it was captured by the “Beast”, which turned its inhabitants into zombies at its service…
No,no,no,please no more greatness from the USA!
The last thing, the world needs from the US, is being a beacon of anything, it costs to many lives, everytime you are.
Humanity would be best served, if you would stay where you are and don’t move!
Just be ONE of about 200 countries in the world, nothing more and nothing less! It would be much appreciated by mankind!
USA has ” interests” around the world that are more important than the intrest of country in which USA has ” Interests “.
Sooner or later those “Interests” would have come home with a bill. who would have thought.
“…to be a great country, a leader and a beacon for mankind, but they were captured by the “Beast””
You still have not understood that “The Beast” is your missionary desire of true US patriots to become a leader, a beacon for humanity.
They just forgot to ask humanity what gods they want to worship. And this is after the well-known fate of the indigenous peoples of America.
Well said. To become a beacon for humanity while becoming filthy rich. Don’t forget the last part. The “In God we Trust” is not enshrined on every American coin by accident.
USA is the “Beast”.
@ Soulwound,
That was back in 2000 and way ahead of the curve.
A good photochop would be Tyrone Wiggums crossed with a John Waters film character complete with rainbow USA regalia.
America has a special place in our evolution, one I shan’t bore any with as it is still irrelevant for now. Interesting though how patriotism can blind so many to the obvious that surrounds them in daily life. The US still has wealth and decent areas, however the rot has started and it will continue, seems that a USSR type fall awaits, as to the timeline I guess the can kicking ability will determine that. As long as war mongering is the primary political goal of both parties, the journey to bankruptcy shall charge ahead, the irony being of course that those that are creating the problems are the ones stacking away their ill gotten dollars and will probably live on in great comfort.
Barron‘s Magazine –
The U.S. Is Scaring Off Foreign Investors
Welcome to America the Uninvestible.
That seems like a strange thing to say about the go-to destination for investors around the world, offering the world’s biggest companies, the most liquid markets, and rule of law to protect shareholder returns. Government interference, too, is supposed to be limited. The fact that U.S. stocks have outperformed the rest of the world over the past decade has certainly helped as well.

De-Dollarization is happening
I thought Vlad’s list of demands regarding Ukraine prior to the SMO was very reasonable although I thought it was pretty fanciful expecting the US to pull it’s nukes out of Europe and withdraw NATO to it’s pre 97 position.
Fifteen months later it looks like the Western economic system is about to go into freefall and the worst thing they can do is print more money, I guess that’s what they’ll do.
The Russian and Chinese have economies based on real things, not on imaginary financial constructs. If and it’s a big if we get through this without a nuclear exchange the Western system will be going down while the new Eastern alliance will be disappearing over the horizon with the wind in their sails.
The Ukraine debacle has demonstrated the complete capture of the US and European political system by the powers that be. The only question is who and I mean names and addresses, are these people?
The manufacture of guillotines and tumbrils does not require an industrial base so there is that.
It really looks like the West is going to have the lifestyle of the third world descend on us like a biblical plague.
I read Fred’s article in full – then went through the comments underneath. I must say, I have never seen such a parade of ignorance about history and ideology in one place before in my life. Every cliche, every idiotic misconception about economics and politics, every stupid talking point of the lunatic exceptionalists for whom Russia and China might as well be the back end of the moon for all they know about those countries….just felt sick to my stomach. I’m not American, and never have I been happier that I did not have to go through an education system that results in this stunning level of ignorance and self-delusion – and lack of critical thinking faculties. Earlier I’ve had the luxury of reading posts from you and others like you and the comments underneath, which come, now I start to think, the exceptions. If the majority of Americans are like those commenting on Fred’s work, there is no hope of anything but nuclear war.
I second that Rajesh.
Unfortunately, the phenomenon isn’t confined to the US, it is widespread in the West. In fact, this site is one of the exceptions, along with a few other “alternative” outlets, both left and right. The level of idiocy in the whole formerly white Christian part of the world – save perhaps Greece and Italy, but they’re occupied lands – is staggering. I have lived for more than thirty years in France and I am now in nominally neutral Serbia. The biggest strategic mistake the Anglo-Zios have made was to attack Serbs – they did it b/c they don’t have a real understanding of the world, they operate on projection -, instead of simply using corruption. Their aggression rang the alarm bell for Russians and they have a hole in the Balkans in their bloc that they have pierced themselves. But the level of thinking among the masses really is the same across the whole of Europe as in North America.
Yes, indeed the country is lost, the people are lost
It is blind leading the blind now.
They will both end up falling in the ditch
Why, they are currently just inches away from falling even now.
Unfortunately and regrettably this collapse of entire western collective is inevitable
And I hope this marks the end to colonialism.
Amen.
Seconded.
it is rare for indians to show true objective assesment on geopolitics on the internet , because majority of indians on the internet are trolls and hyper patriots fed by jingoist indian media , and then we got western loving indians who worship white people and their way of life.
India is a great nation led by western loving politicians , a country that can become a great nation but alas dragged down to poverty due to their govt corruption and ignorance. The brain drain of great indians to western nations also precipitate this disaster for india.
Rajeesh you are one of the few objective poster here and i salute you
“…a significant number of American citizens have swallowed the anti-Russian, anti-Chinese propaganda and they see no way out other than a confrontation.” If somehow these people could direct their frustrations on the Biden’s White House, they would have a better chance for success. Hopefully, this would happen before the rich Zionist globalist elites manage to completely brainwash the Americans into certain death trap against the combined armies of Russia, Iran, China, N. Korea…., simultaneously, thousands of miles away. It seems France is on the verge of a new revolution right now.
Ppl have no way out bc the of the congress and president don’t represent them? Take a shot from France and act.
It will end, probably badly. It doesn´t matter what the clowns on this crazy bus ride do or think. It is out of their hands now. That´s why Macron is hiding his $80,000 watch in the interview. It also demonstrates the Western leadership is only partially and inadequately aware of their situation at this point. I don´t think there is an easier way back now. People need to strap in for the end of this one. My take.
Good luck everybody.
A Republican Congress just passed the “Parents’ Rights” Bill, giving parents back the right, among others, to know what their children are being taught in school. Not a single one of the 200+ Democraps voted for it.
Democraps are overwhelmingly in favor of the transgender movement, unrestricted abortion, no punishment for crimes, tax-and-spend to oblivion, illegal immigration, entitlement to every bum roaming the streets and “expunging” God from the public square.
Those facts above should demonstrate to the hundreds of millions of idiots in America, beyond any shadow of doubt, that there are “NO REDEEMING VALUES” left in their party, but they WON’T.
There is a saying in my country that “a skunk will sniff another skunk”. Looks like have hundreds of millions of skunks among us. That is why the morals of our country is in free fall.
We have reached the point of no return. From here to full blown BANANA REPUBLIC!
The republicans also voted to send our money in unlimited amounts to Ukraine, and why dont they get off their assess and start impeachment proceedings against JB? Probably because they too, are ass deep in Ukrainian corruption.
I hope people vote in the next election for the (not yet formed) Narcissm Party!!!, for an honest candidate.
You might have missed Fred’s note that the US is descending to fourth world (think Somalia) from banana republic – that boat sailed long ago.
Larry, after reading the comments on Fred’s site, appreciate more the curation you do.
Meanwhile the “Axis of Evil” theme is back for the 20th anniversary of the Iraq war.

A supposed quote from Netanyahu, 1990, after a meeting with Jonathan Pollard in his jail cell:
“If we get caught they will just replace us with persons of the same cloth. So it doesn’t matter what you do. America is a Golden Calf and we will suck it dry, chop it up, and sell it off piece by piece until there is nothing left but the World’s biggest welfare state that we will create and control. Why? Because it’s God’s will and America is big enough to take the hit so we can do it again, again and again. This is what we do to countries that we hate. We destroy them very slowly and make them suffer for refusing to be our slaves.”
Sorta prophetic, eh? I don’t know that Netanyahu really said this, but he has certainly said similar things over the years, how America is Israel’s bitch in effect and certainly we see the evidence accumulating over the years since of this saying.
Dear Larry, as usual a great and thoughtful post. I am from Spain and has always loved the USA but, sadly it is going away from its traditional values as the rest of the West. We have forgotten Pope John Paul II when, talking to Europe, said: Europe, be yourself, return to your origins (not only greek philosophy, roman law but also christianism).
This post reminds me of a strange/curious movie: Mars Attack!, when martians come to Earth and, while, shooting everyone with their lasers they shout, hypocritally: Don’t run, we are your friends.
We, the West, are doing the same…shooting everyone, even ourselves, while saying “it is for your good”.
Hoping to see your next interesting post. A daily pleasure. Best from Spain
This was a good read. Hilarious intro.
Obviously your ranter does not watch TCM. Anyone seeing a movie from the 1950s or earlier would be envious of such public transport. A time when passengers were treated with respect, not like cattle.
What’s going on today has never happened in America before.
I cry for my country, when I’m not praying for it.
Y’all know what we need to do. Like the Nike ad says, just do it.
Ah. NIKE, All-American company! approx 90 % of products made in China and various other Asian countries.
Hey Bro,
This is not a post endorsing Nike or its products.
They got a catchy slogan, that’s all
Pity The Nation
Pity the nation whose people are sheep,
and whose shepherds mislead them.
Pity the nation whose leaders are liars, whose sages are silenced,
and whose bigots haunt the airwaves.
Pity the nation that raises not its voice,
except to praise conquerors and acclaim the bully as hero
and aims to rule the world with force and by torture.
Pity the nation that knows no other language but its own
and no other culture but its own.
Pity the nation whose breath is money
and sleeps the sleep of the too well fed.
Pity the nation — oh, pity the people who allow their rights to erode
and their freedoms to be washed away.
My country, tears of thee, sweet land of liberty.”
Laurence Ferlinghetti
“For those of you outside US”
Certainly Europe has pretty much the same press as US does, and teh lunacy on Russia, Ukraine, China is almost word for word the same.
There is no embarrassment here in UK about sending Depleted Uranium ordnance to Ukraine though there is no secret as to what it will do to Ukrainian/Russian land and agriculture if it is fired.
Billions – Afghanistan was 2.3 trillon. Everything is spent on contracts that give 30%-60% pure profit to the corporates providing the equipment or services. 10% gets kicked back to Washington. Easy to see what the real catastrophe was in August 2021 when US pulled out of Afghanistan.
“….they see no way out other than a confrontation.”
The coercive social relations self-misrepresented “The United States of America” has always been predicated on fear, and hence their first response to challenge has always been confrontation preceded by an expansion of the chest, which is also one of the bases of the belief that the “personal ” right to carry guns was/is a guarantee of “liberty/freedom”.
Hence some did not comment on your proposed Rowan and Martin clone, since it was thought that you would be soooo busy.
Almost the first comment broadcast by associates through this portal was broadly this:
“I am a bona fide Son of American Revolutionaries. At least 24 of my ancestors, men and women, fought to free the American Colonies from British rule. Some died for the cause of liberty. Though two and a half centuries have passed since my great grandfathers and grandmothers took up arms, the principles they fought for remain valid and relevant to the 21st Century. This blog is dedicated to the pursuit of truth without regard to partisan advantage. I welcome like minded patriots.
Did they recognise their errors and apologise?
The comment did appear but did not have the benefit of response.
From 1969 onwards , the strategy to transcend “The United States of America” was predicated on the understanding in various forms of your two aobservations that “seeing is believing” and “….they see no way out other than a confrontation.” and hence the primary question formulated and posed was:
“How to drown a drowning man with the minimum of blowback”.
Inherent in this question was/is the notion that the amount of drowning men drowned should be minimised if pathways to perpetual “war” were to be avoided, whilst the amount varies with context.
Since:
“”The “opioid problem” within “The United States of America” is systemic, rendered necessary to sustain the system through myriad presentations not restricted to pills and praying : ergo self-replicating and self-destructing simultaneously, thereby restricting “walking the walk”.
These informed the following ocomment:
” sometimes the bravado of the outlanders is irksome.”
Quite so.
Even to the extent of some sharing coffee and cognac with members of the “Industrial faction” to convince them to not be tempted to arrange outlanders, who allegedly had come with the best of intentions to educate them thereby correcting their lifetime of errors, to travel in the cargo hold of the Delta flight from Shermetovo to Newark, New Jersey in coffins rather than seats.
It was agreed/decided that it would be more comfortable if they had seats, and as the saying goes the rest is history.”
The above which occurred was not an illustration of father-forgive-them-they-know-not-what-they-do-ness, but a regognition that even their presence is an insult, but be patient, remember Gosplan (Wonderland) and The Government Inspector – not Diary of a Madman.
What follows might cause offense but as Mr. Fields correctly observed:
“There comes at time in the affairs of men when we must grab the bull by the tail and face the situation.”
From at least 1969 onwards “strategies” were informed by the understanding that “The United States of America” were/are a network of coercive social relations not limited to a temporary construct misguidedly assigned a similar name, built on fear and contingent vindictiveness, which includes, but is not limited to “Israel” particularly after (but likely should have been before) by way of Mr. Kahane and others, Brooklyn invaded Israel to create “supermen” after Yom Kippur, so we need to incorporate ways to protect them from themselves.
That method had been adopted by many in the world since 1945 in specific changing contexts, which some “Americans” interpreted as other’s admiration of them and their “freedom”, since unlike Mr. Stalin the “Americans” learned to talk, but rarely to listen.
The present context includes but is not limited to:
Mr. Brezhnev, Mr. Gorbachov and their associates are mostly dead, whilst “The Soviet Union” is in accelerated mode of transcendence in co-operation with others.
Through your own efforts with the aid of contexts largely facilitated by others with your unacknowledged complicity, some are of the opinion that it would be wise to start to become “Quiet Americans” by learning to become adults not saturated by fears, illusions and vindictiveness, which renders you complicit in your roles of food sources and human shields of others and yourselves, thereby increasing your alienation that some of you seek to deny.
Likely, because of the outcomes of your fears and contingent vindictiveness over many years, no one will offer you an invitation to the Senior Prom to bore the dancers with your ignorances, or free Persilschienery.
Can someone please help me understand what the hell Mirror just said?I’m getting old and I fear that I am becoming senile,or on the other hand Mirror is shitting out an endless stream of alcohol induced incoherent bullshit!HELP ME,or him!
It’s how someone with schizophrenia writes.
(That’s a medical opinion, not meant as an insult)
That explains multiple accounts arguing with each other.
I used to ride the Boston commuter rail. Here in the “high tech” Northeast we have tracks and trains right out of Petticoat Junction. Picture a commuter train of 20 or so cars, jam packed with standing room only so it is difficult to move, with only two conductors on the entire train, creating an unsafe situation for emergencies. I learned to sleep standing up, propped agsinst wall in the car vestibule. Bathrooms? Maybe two per train, one in front, one in back. Depending on the temperature, speed could be limited to 30 miles an hour in Summer. This is anecdotal but hey I’m willing to believe it, someone explained that the tracks were so old they did not have reliable information on expansion under heat and so had to be extremely cautious. The conductors however would occasionaly “pretend” to punch your ticket to give you a free ride if you were a decent sort. 😀
Good morning Larry.
Thanks for your great work.
As many of your commenters have noted, the descend into complete idiocy is not reserved to North America where I lived for the last 37 years.
I’m now in rural south Western Europe, and observe that most of Europe is on the same trajectory.
The (western) world the visionary work of fiction, movie https://youtu.be/mnLxc954ipo
portrays is well under way, and ahead of schedule.
Sort of reasonable French to English translation…I think.
“Well … this is ”THAT“ the … American ”DREAM”!!! It is gradually becoming … and more and more … the same “landscape” in Europe … even Western … For years, there has only been ONE American president who has thought about his country; Donald Trump … “ONN” has “arranged” to forbid him his re-election … What will happen in 2024 … year of the same presidential election in the United States AND Russia …?”
Who recently said this and to who?
“You did not prevent any humanitarian disaster. You have armed rebel groups in one free and sovereign country, which did not set foot on the territory of another country,”
I’ll take two guesses:
1) Ukraine to Russia.
2) Serbia to America
Oh, just looked it up. It was Serbia. They both fit though.
So, what’s America’s problem? Why’s it always act like an ass?
IMHO, either Mr. Reed has passed, as it is implied, so much time out of the USA, or he is being quite navie with regards Biden.
In spite of an almost a decade or so reading through the so called “alt-media”, it has not been until these days that I have known of these statements by an already quite old Biden expressing himself in the way of as he would do one of a similar psychological profile we have deemed fulfills highly likely The Petit Roi in France, that is, that of a especimen who enjoys damaging the most the higher number possible of people, being included in this numbers those of his own blood, as increasing uncovering of laptops content, life style and diaries content clearly reveal….I think his is a case of book….
https://t.me/elespiadigital/13738
By watching his rage while recognizing that the destruction of Yugoslavia adn bombing of the country with depleted uranium was his own idea, one gets to the conclusion that this does not fit the actions of a senescent venerable old person, as he tries to show himself most of the time ( except when he is importunated with an uncomfortable question by someone in the press…) but with those which led too to the destruction of vital energy arteries in Europe, and with them to the death and disbanding of European industry and, with them, ending with any possibility of a prosperous future for the peoples in Europe….
He is so, always has been, and, like everybody of his condition, he is impervious to change….
Of course, some at the top brought him to power, like they did with his kind in other parts of Europe, North America and the world, for the actions required for this very moment…..
“He is so, always has been, and, like everybody of his condition, he is impervious to change….”
No.
The valuation criteria/tools are not enmeshed in linear absolutes, although that is a popular mode of “diagnosis/prognosis”, but are a function of some considering cost/benefit analysis as a more useful technique contextually/statistically.
“….some at the top brought him to power, like they did with his kind in other parts of Europe, North America and the world, for the actions required for this very moment…..” despite their increasing lack of facility to do so, thereby becoming increasingly complicit in their own transcendence in perceived pursuance of their purpose and previous practices.
Hence “defeat” is not an option, only transcendence with their unperceived complicity, which since “strategy” is practiced linearly by some within paradigms of limited tolerance in hope of facilitating sustainability, there are many possible vectors and interactions of vectors rendered to facilitate transcendence.
“ending with any possibility of a prosperous future for the peoples in Europe….”
No that is what they hope and are attempting, but as Mr. Shakespeare observed there is many a slip between cup and lip – especially when your hand is shaking, and some rascals are simultaneously offending you by their existence causing shivers up your spine and elsewhere.
This phase is finished and this week-end is the clean up including thumbnail sketches of what was/is reflected in the MirrorMirrorOnTheWall.
The Petit Roi in France ?
Non.
Evidement c’est le Prince de M. Antoinne de St. Exupery :
You are responsible for the animals that you have saved, of which if still concious some of the opponents may be appraised in the not too distant future
So congratulations on this part of your journey.
Don’t eat too many cakes, and remember blinis are not the sugar free option.
Then…you are leaving….again….I will miss you, as always…
Thanks a lot for the History lessons.
I never eat or drink too many of anything…Today it was a bombon with my coffee, not from Poroshenko´s factory, but from an old Spanish one….
Sometimes we have the best products at home, free of Palm oil, but the Empire make us to forget about them…so that to sell us theirs….
Now they are selling us the virtues of eating insects….

Enjoy your journey…
Have a bombon or a cake from time to time….Every time I watch a Russian reception I can see that they offer there always a very healthy and tempting buffet….
“Today it was a bombon with my coffee, not from Poroshenko´s factory”
So they are starting to put things in these big Roshen boxes – not Mr. Poroshenko he wouldn’t fit?
Some are of the view this will happen later not excluded to Mr. Poroshenko, even in Israel, possibly by disgruntled customer service executives wearing red and black arm bands, unless former Mossad operatives try to ensure keeping matters in the family.
And all because “the lady” forgot the salt ?
All the world is a stage upon which most performances are comedies.
Some cultural and historical awareness – sending a chubby Jewish lady with entourage to welcome Ukrainians into their own home by giving them second day hardening plain bulka (1), which “los gringos” remain convinced were cookies – perhaps because that was what she put on her expenses claim ? – and forgeting the salt, thereby illustrating most Ukrainian prejudices of the Jewish population to a whole congregation of mostly Ukrainians.
It is preciselly all the Jewish banking people who are prolonging the war to the last Ukrainian, and even, if necessary, to the last European, so that there is no commerce in the Heartland, as commerce starts getting out of their hands…..and their, for now, Navy….

Have you heard of any Israeli systemic, or non systemic, bank affected by the current financial crisis?
The impossibility for the German and other European chemical industry to work, at current energy prices, has provoked a shortage of medicines in Spain reaching the number of 250 meds out of stock….They are killing us one way or the other…First through their “vaccines”, now by creating a meds shortage…
It will be difficult to forget….
On keeping matters in the family, may be vaccinated American people would want to know that they lied over that lipidic nanoparticles containing the mRNA stayed in the arm´s site of inyection….
Through request it weas realeased documentation which proves that they knew, before the “vaccines” were even “approved”, that the lipidic nanoparticles containing mRNA started distributing through the whole organs of the body from the very moment of inyection to at least 48 hours….

“Have you heard of any Israeli systemic, or non systemic, bank affected by the current financial crisis?”
Try not to lose focus through emotion.
Be patient.
Try to remember “secrecy” is not an absolute but an accelerant.
“It is preciselly all the Jewish banking people who are prolonging the war to the last Ukrainian, and even, if necessary, to the last European”
and certainty the greatest weakness.
Heh.
Tyrone is not only the perfect model for the people now in control of the U.S. Government, yet also of the American citizens themselves.
Tyrone Biggums as the model of a U.S. Citizen would never stop to ask himself how many children he had murdered in the womb with his tax dollars.
He would never stop and reflect on the fact that he exchanges his permission to use his tax dollars to kill, steal, and destroy, in exchange for the privilege to receive a paycheck.
He would never stop to look at his homes in suburbia, and instead of seeing them made from brick, concrete and wood as he does, instead see them for what they are really built out of.
That is the bones of millions murdered with tyrones tax dollars. Yeppers, Tyrones homes he “worked” for are built on the destruction of entire regions of the world, and the theft of the resources therein, and the murder and torture of many many many, which 330 million absolutely AmericanTyrones sign their approval too every April 15th.
And the proverbial Tyrone Biggums will never ever ever see it, acknowledge it, or even repent of that murderous destructive thieving behavior. Tyrone will never stand up too or even think of fighting wickedness, iniquity or evil of any sort.
And this is just one more reason why many many will be wailing and gnashing their teeth. For they thought they could serve God and Mammon, after God told them they could not.
Have a nice day America, here is a nice song for Americans since so many here enjoy them.

At what point in time do we stopped describing the problem in ever greater detail and facet, but then begin to use some brain power to formulate contingency plans for an eventual remedy? Can we really talk our way out of the mess we’re in? Will attempts at persuasion eventually tip the balance of understanding sufficient to bring about a fundamental course change? Yes, ranting and venting can be therapeutic and relieve stress, and perhaps even change a few minds at the margin. But methinks the ship is sinking faster than we can bail and a Plan B should be in the making in case persuasion alone proves inadequate.
Perhaps you might list your favorite politicians. Take a stand, so to speak.
This analysis says that the BRIC nations have now surpassed the G7 in economic out put PPP or purchasing power parity or GDP. Pandemic lock downs, sanctions on Russia, printing money etc. Take your pick.

Back to Ayn Rand.
As Gore Vidal put it, Atlas Shrugged was a series of arias for Heldentenor. When I was in the army in the 70’s in Germany, a lot of GIs loved the book, and The Stars and Stripes always had a three paragraph long letter every month or so praising the book. In my novel German Days, my hero, Patrick Walden, discusses it with Paco, his Mexican fellow GI:
“So tell me, Walden, this Ayn Rand. What is her ‘philosophy?'”
“Rand said altruism is evil. Screw the other guy. Civilization. Go make money, keep it, look out for number one. I’m simplifying, Paco. It’s a good story. It kind of feels like it written in the thirties. Reminds me of Steinbeck, although I can’t imagine him writing what a swell, heroic bunch of guys bosses are. This guy Ragnar has a U-boat and sinks ships belonging to socialist countries.”
Paco’s smile was almost a sneer.
“And Dagney Taggert. She’s kind of noble and gutsy. John Galt’s like the Lone Ranger…Rand sounds intellectual, but she dumbs it down so average guys can follow it, and it makes them feel smart. But it’s all black and white. No gray. She talks about heraldry, then says the real heraldry is advertising slogans and corporate logos. A royal coat of arms isn’t as good as Coca-cola, because Coke is made by producers who use their genius to create a product for the free market…”
Paco kept giggling and stomped his foot. “Stop it!”
“Look, she’s got a point, but it’s a crazy point. It reminds me of that army lifer in ‘Nam who said ‘we had to destroy the village in order to save it.'”
Paco smiled and nodded. “So tell me, Walden. What is her ‘philosophy?'”
“Rand tells you it’s okay to keep your dough and f**k the government. To most Americans, when they give up Jesus, it’s the only philosophy they can handle.”
Paco reared back his head and laughed in that high-pitched bray Patrick enjoyed…”Goddamn it, Walden, just a reactionary. What an absurd country we serve. What a brainless collection of greedy fools. We are mercenaries to a ridiculous accident of history.” Paco sneered the name. “‘Ayn Rand.’ Is that her real name?”
“No. It’s Alisa Rosenbaum.”
Paco grinned. “Ah. A Jew. It makes sense. only a Jew could write a book like that, and only gringos are stupid enough to believe in it.”

“We are in a dangerous period where the United States has lost its bearings while China and Russia have united to fight back against this threat.”
Actually, this plays right into the hands of the fascists running our country.
Since WWII, we’ve been a fully militarized economy. That means if “enemies” don’t actually exist, we need to create them.
And we need to keep an eye on any Americans who might be sympathetic to those enemies with a giant surveillance state apparatus.
The menace of “global communism” served that purpose for decades. When it crumbled there was briefly a period when there was talk of a “peace dividend” and scaling back military budgets.
With the 9/11 “attacks” all that went out the window and suddenly (conveniently) we had a new “enemy”: “global terrorism!”. The Pentagon budget went through the roof.
With the recent withdrawal from Afghanistan after 20 years of fighting the goat herder menace, we had to have something to replace it with, otherwise why were we still spending gazillions on useless wepaonry?
Enter the Dragon.
And for good measure, we dusted off “The Russians are Coming!” from my childhood.
Two new (old) enemies!
Pentagon budget back in the stratosphere.
And herein lies the reason for the steady deterioration of America.
As President Eisenhower told us:
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.
This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. The cost of one modern heavy bomber is this: a modern brick school in more than 30 cities. It is two electric power plants, each serving a town of 60,000 population. It is two fine, fully equipped hospitals. It is some fifty miles of concrete pavement. We pay for a single fighter plane with a half million bushels of wheat. We pay for a single destroyer with new homes that could have housed more than 8,000 people.
This is, I repeat, the best way of life to be found on the road the world has been taking. This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.
Eisenhower was exactly right, and he said a few more things in a similar vein, but unfortunately when he was in a position to do something about it, he did nothing – rather the opposite.
Sadly….America is an empire in decline that probably can’t be stopped. Oddly, I am praying for it to crash and hit bottom–not because I hate it or that I want China or Russia to be world super powers–but because I know that hitting bottom really really hard is a necessary step toward recovery. I love America or at least I love what I thought it used to be and stand for–its not that country anymore (well maybe parts of it are).
This morning I read a really well-founded article about the US Military’s recruiting deficits…this is an excerpt that seems to fit here: “A country whose citizens are too stupid to feed themselves without the government both paying for it and telling them what to eat has problems.”
“An Army of None?” https://www.unz.com/ghood/an-army-of-none/
So who is going to fight America’s future wars that Biden et al are so eagerly instigating? There’s very few Americans eligible to be drafted lol.
A draft will fail miserably. Middle class will have parents suing, kids will be sent to another country, etc. The ones that get drafted, if they are smart, they will do everything they can to fail basic and any training they receive. Failing basic will force Uncle Sam to put them out.
As a veteran, I do not support any war on foreign soil. For the U.S. to say it is involved in other countries for national security reasons is total nonsense. Countries for the most part seem to get along fine and resolve their issues…unless the U.S. is there. Then we can count on a conflict and turmoil of some kind. There simply is no reason for the U.S. to be fighting anywhere but here, in the U.S.
I once encouraged teens to join the military, I no longer do.
Many of the homeless are drug addicts. The drug problem is a classic example of America as a socialist country. How so? They only deal with supply side issues. The war on drugs is a war on supply, but they make the demand side grow with lax policies in dealing with drug users. Socialism is about supply side control, control production and distribution, supposedly for equitable outcomes. They control the supply of education too, for example. Government takes more control, solves no problems, and just makes things worse, across the board. That’s why less is better.
China doesn’t have a drug problem. They’ve been anti drugs since the days of the opium wars. When I was there in the 90’s, I was told there was a simple approach. If you tested positive for drugs, you were dead within 24 hours. They don’t have a drug problem. Sellers are executed as well. Both sides of the transaction are treated equally.
The US victim culture puts no responsibility on the individual, as the state will care for them. This is socialism, and the US is a socialist country. And a socialist is just a person too stupid to know they’re a communist. Like the Soviet Union, it’s all coming apart because it requires a second public to tax in order to work, and there is no second public, with more than half now living off the government tit in one way or another. So, distractions, wars, propaganda instead of news, debt, and printed money.
It’s over, folks. Now it gets interesting.
“America as a socialist country” – you had better take your own advice and get off the drugs too.
“I encourage you to read the rest of his rant. I fully endorse it.”
I fully endorse ALL of Fred Reed’s writings. He’s great. Piercing insight combined with fabulous humor.
I just watched drone footage from Mississippi. Absolutely shocking!
No doubt, the priority will be more money for the most corrupt country in Europe!
Well, they do have more shocking drone footage.
I’m and Old Stock American. That means I’m primarily of English ancestry who came here, in my instance, well before 1700. My people settled the land, fought the Indians, fought the wars, did everything necessary to build the United States. I am American to the core in a way even a lot of Americans commenting on these threads aren’t. And as a rural southerner, I don’t really care about the rest of the world. I have a good life. I have plenty of money. I have plenty of opportunity. I don’t wish to go looking for dragons to slay and I simply have one desire. I want to be left alone to do whatever I want as long as it doesn’t hurt someone else. As such, I’m against messing with other people be it my neighbor across the fence, or somebody three thousand miles away in another country.
I’m not going to pretend that America is perfect, wholly good or anything else. If I lived elsewhere I wouldn’t believe all that bullshit either. But I will say this, as a rule with a few notable exceptions Americans have never gone for naked conquest. The leadership has never been able to rally Americans for something akin to “the glory of Rome” or plunder. Sure, it’s happened but it’s not the rule. In order to rally Americans they had to be convinced they were in the right and it was for some great cause.
That’s a two part requirement. First, Americans had to believe they were in the right. I despise the “city on a hill” trope as much or more than a lot of you living in other places. But one can’t deny it has been used as a powerful motivational tool. It’s been an updated version of the old “white man’s burden” theme. Well, that’s gone. The same Americans who have traditionally been relied upon to fight the wars are the ones who are told they are evil white supremacists and the ones most likely to reject the woke culture. Except for extreme individualism those Americans are more likely to have a worldview closer to Putin than Biden. So, no, these Americans no longer believe their country is in the right.
The second is the cause. Fighting NAZIM or Communism or even radical Islam are causes. We can talk about them being overblown, being created, or being fictional. But I would imagine that that there are very few in this thread who consider them to be “good” when taken to their extremes. So, they were easy to paint as threats. But now? What’s out there now? China? Those same people who want to sell us lots of cheap shit? That same country that’s not even really communist anymore. Slava Ukraine? Even the idea of some melodramatic dipshit saying “Glory to….anything” is antithetical to traditional American culture. It just doesn’t play anywhere but with the Twitter bots.
And if you want to know that Americans like me aren’t buying it, look at military recruitment numbers. They’ve fallen off a cliff and the’ve fallen hardest with the southerners and rural whites from places like Pennsyltuckey who have always made up the tip of the spear and trigger pullers in the combat arms branches.
A lot of people on this board talk about “Americans”. Well, there are at least two or three or more culturally distinct “Americas”. I would say that for the last hundred years or so, we’ve had a destructive elite in charge that doesn’t have the well being of the country at heart and is dangerous to the rest of the world. The good news for America and the rest of the world, is that these people in charge have finally descended into rank idiocy and things are falling apart. It’s going to be dangerous for a few years. But there is hope for everyone.
The US can still be an incredibly prosperous country with every advantage that follows the advice of Washington IF we can rid ourselves of this ridiculous and increasingly moronic elite. If you live elsewhere, you should wish us well. All of our lives may depend upon it.
Fighting ‘capitalism’ is a cause, too, and a much more worthy one than those you mention. Don’t you understand that the “destructive elite in charge that doesn’t have the well being of the country at heart and is dangerous to the rest of the world” is the rich capitalist elite whose dearest wish is to make those less rich than themselves believe that communism is the enemy of the poor, rather than the enemy of the rich.
I can’t comment on anything in the article and comments section. There is too much truth hitting me in the face. I am a bug about to hit the windshield. I think I’ll sack out for a few hours and try again with a new article tonight. Maybe Larry will post something with more cowbell.
Now you know why everyone is snacking on happy pills.

Russia will place nuclear weapons in Belarus – Putin
Moscow will finish building a facility for tactical arms in the neighboring country by July, the Russian president has said
Russian tactical nuclear weapons might arrive in Belarus as early as this summer, Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed on Saturday. Moscow is completing the construction of a specialized storage facility for such arms, amid repeated calls by Minsk to deploy them on its soil, he added.
The site in Belarus will be ready by July 1, Putin told Russia 24 TV. The president also said that Moscow does not plan to hand over control of any tactical nuclear weapons to Minsk and that it would only deploy its own arms to Belarus. He did not specify when exactly the weapons would be transported to the new site.
The move was prompted by the UK’s decision to provide Kiev with depleted uranium munitions, Putin explained. The UK announced earlier in March that it plans to send the shells to Ukraine for use with Challenger 2 battle tanks. Moscow blasted the move as a sign of “absolute recklessness, irresponsibility and impunity” on the part of London and Washington.
The US dismissed Russia’s concerns by calling depleted uranium shells a “commonplace type of munition” that has “been in use for decades.” The Russian Defense Ministry then warned that their use could trigger nothing short of a radioactive disaster in Ukraine, citing the aftermath of the use of such munitions by NATO in Iraq.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has repeatedly raised the issue of threats posed to his nation by nuclear weapons deployed by the US to EU countries. In October 2022, he pointed to “nuclear sharing” talks between Washington and Warsaw, warning that nuclear weapons could be placed in Poland, which borders Belarus.
Minsk needs to take “appropriate measures” to address this threat, Lukashenko said at that time, adding that he would discuss the matter with Moscow.
Currently, US nuclear weapons are deployed in Belgium, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Türkiye. In 2021, Russia called on the weapons to be repatriated as part of its security proposals, but the US and NATO refused.
General Nuland should recieve some sort of recognition for a US Foreign Policy tour d’force that has compelled Russia and China to form a ‘strategic partnership. General Yellen should recieve sort sort of recognition for a US Fianancial tou d’force that could allow some other country ( e.g. Saudi Arabia) to dictate: Stop this nonsense or we will pull out all of our funds from your banks and put them into more reliable ones. Commander in Chief Biden will get completely tongue tied if he has to answer: What exactly is the US doing in Syria, how did we get there, and what are our objectives? Might as well have Tyrone leading the show.
“Stop this nonsense or we will pull out all of our funds from your banks and put them into more reliable ones.”
Good luck wiht that.
For those who wish to get more insightful knowledge from the battlefields that covered the Ukraine here is a very well written long read by Big Serge, that offers a truly updated interpretation of what happened during Operation Barbarossa & Typhoon.

Here in France people also easily swallow propaganda, especially anti-Russian. But in fact most of them are not interested in it, see do not feel concerned. And then the violent events and demonstrations of recent weeks occupy the front of the news.
This is a video shot by a couple of expats (US and Brit) in Moscow showing a bit of the Metro and a large food court/market. Notice the filth, the garbage, the bare shelves, the discouraged and impoverished people.

You are spreading misinformation. That’s not a metro but an underpass. Jokes aside, some Moscow metro stations look like museums.

An underpass? No way! This is a legitimate rules-base order underpass. https://s7d2.scene7.com/is/image/TWCNews/qns_lirr_underpassnolightspkg1102265613855png
BTW: I think I spotted Zelensky. Too tired out to make it down to his bunker I guess. Times are tough. https://media.gettyimages.com/photos/homeless-man-sleeping-in-underpass-tunnel-picture-id930505040?s=612×612
That is indeed a truly patriotic underpass.
The second photo is obviously staged, just like everyting Zelensky appears in, so you could be onto something there.
So, when did this whole process start? Look around, I’d say America has been slowly rotting since the late 60’s. That’s when the infrastructure stopped being improved and we fell behind other countries slowly but surely. (Went to a public park today here in upper-class Long Island, NY and the place is a museum piece from the 1930’s).
What happened in the 60’s, any ideas?
Here’s one: “Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits schools from discriminating on the basis of color, race, religion, and national origin.” One definition of “discrimination” is “the ability to discern what is of high quality; good judgment or taste”. So in the 60’s it literally became illegal to operate a school which upheld high standards of education, generations were educated with lower and lower standards (what are you racist?), and here we are.
“ So, when did this whole process start”
I’d say November 11, 1620 when the Mayflower arrived in Plymouth.
Or 1492, when Christopher Columbus reached the Bahamas?
Your wife must be very pettite, or you have a big mouth non metaphorically.
@LARRY
You got connection with serving and veteran US military personel of all ranks and all services..
From your conversation with them dont they fear escalation will lead to a real war with russia (wich led to nuclear war) ?
there is more prudent people both in military and political sphere during cold war than today.
how come the profesionals in the US military do not raise voice against this insane US administration and their backings ?
the one who will be dying is the military professional and the one who will suffer will be US citizens , but somehow the military and the citizen of US prefer to stay silent and continue to enjoy daily bread and circusses..
until the draft notice come in the mailbox and every US citizen need to serve to fight UNNECESSARY war with russia and china
I love Fred Reed and have followed various incarnations of his blog these last few years. Don’t always agree with all the content, but love his prose style and FU drop-deadpan sense of humour.
“… a significant number of American citizens have swallowed the anti-Russian, anti-Chinese propaganda …”
Hi Larry,
Perhaps you know the joke:
An American(*) and a Russian are seated next to each other on a long-haul international flight to the US. They converse:
American: “Excuse me for asking but, in the current climate, isn’t it unusual for you to be travelling to the US? May I ask the purpose of your visit?”
Russian: “Sure. My government is sending me to study how your propaganda works.”
American: “What propaganda?”
Russian: “Exactly.”
(*) American can be substituted by any number of ‘Rules based order’ Western nations.
Best wishes.
