Whenever I see a novel title with a subscript of the An XYZ Novel pattern, I know right away to avoid it at all costs. Any novel, regardless of genre, where the protagonist’s name is on the cover is one where he’ll win, no matter what the odds are, and I have absolutely no interest in that kind of novel.

A quick word from Paris where riots have been going on for days now.
Not something new for sure but the pattern is interesting enough. We have reached a new level of riots in a major EU state. This will have consequences in regard to the path of war against Russia.
Things that have changed so far :
Rioters are much younger
The vast majority is from arab and african descent but white faces have joined the party. Girls too.
They are on a shopping spree free-for-all. I guess the clips from Walmart ransacks in the US have been an emulation
Drug dealers have let them loose while usually they dislike seeing their business being disturbed.
Medium and small towns have been in the loop too. thx Tik Tok
Cops have been ordered to restrain any type of force (LBD guns are obviously dedicated for french natives aka Yellow jackets). As a result one can see a group of urban cops running towards the rioters… empty handed.
Cop armoured vehicules are now patrolling. To what effect ?
Bottom line, a national unhinged crowd has put the country almost to a status of defense emergency.
Coincidataly, Macron unveiled a new hospital for high intensity conflict’s injured victims a few days before… In Marseilles, a city out of control at every stage (majority of extra european inhabitants, war zones etc).
Conclusion ? The distopia is widening between politics fancying themselves as war leader and the reality of their daily grind in their inner borders

When the poor, in any society, have no hope nor anything to eat, is it their fault alone or is it, also, all of society’s fault?

When people could have a decent job in a factory they felt useful, they had hope in the future.

A small problem. I’m using a proper OS (Linux), an there is no Kindle reader for it, You can’t even download the books to convert to other formats (I once bought a Kindle book, and I’m still waiting to be able to download it) Nice (and typically gringo) monopoly!.
