The Russians have successfully supported that lower 100-150k force stand-off fires requirement and upped the ante on ISR and air power and newer equipment, also through innovative use and integration of their systems, but maybe industrial support of a much larger force is “a bridge too far”. We needed 2 years to prepare for Normandy and 9 months to prepare for the first Iraq invasion that lasted all of two weeks.
