I agree that it was an excellent interview and I have sent it to friends in the UK and told them that if they don’t want to watch the whole thing, just to click forward to 6.38 where Larry explains where those missiles are going. That will hopefully encourage a little more thought on the consequences of this war and their support for it.
It’s a very good interview and the lady asked open questions to let you talk rather than the totally leading and point scoring ones that CNN and the BBC go in for.
Your comment at the end on the type of wars that the US / the West has fought up to now makes me think of an analogy. The last thirty years was a little like the High Victorian Era at the end of the nineteenth century when the British Army fought colonial campaigns almost every year against tribesmen armed with spears. It always won (eventually) but did so by using totally obsolete practices. When it then came up against firstly the Boers armed with Mausers and then later the Germans armed with proper artillery and modern tactics it went through very traumatic learning experiences. I forget who said it but there is a historical quote from one of the German generals saying that the British had learned to fight the wrong type of war.
Despite our own hype, I fear that reality is that the western military machine is in the same position today and would fare poorly against Russia. But our “leaders” and the generals who advise them either do not realise this or dare not admit it. That could lead to dangerous miscalculation, especially from corrupt ideologues.
Yes, the modern American army (and NATO armies as well) are often regarded in Russian society as colonial armies.
I’m not speaking for professional Russian military, although they may be characterized by some neglect like “I was on exercises in France, the French deployed an advanced base / command center several days, in Russia we do it in a few hours.” Or “if someone in the Russian army had proposed a charter where it is written to hide behind civilians, such a charter would have been shoved into this smart guy’s ass, in an open form.”
The fascinating thing about RT is that they do not do pre-interviews to find out what I am going to say. I’ve done Fox, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC and the BBC. All do pre-interviews and in many cases I was disinvited once they heard what I intended to say. Free press in the West? Bullshit.
Larry, do you have a feel for the percentage of govt officials who actually believe the phony intel that drives the outlandish propaganda vs those who know it’s BS but toe the party line for their own self interest?
The majority of the DoD’s intelligence community leadership is leftist and protects the prescribed narrative. Much of the younger analysts coming out of woke university indoctrination are also in lock stop. The majority of the middle-management levels that have their heads screwed on straight are either leaving or smart enough to keep their mouths shut until they can reach retirement.
always a pleasure watching truth and facts from a real america patriot and not neocon bootlicker.
LJ , do you get any threat or phonecall or some kind of visit telling you to stop making these posts from the pro neocon warmonger ‘friends’ or security apparatus ? i heard Patrick Armstrong got a visit from canadian security people and told to cease and desist his blog posts.
btw many silent majority and lurkers are behind you and happy that some ppl still have their courage to tell the truth . unlike some other anti neocon bloggers who suddenly turned pro neocon during this massive propaganda drivel
“i heard Patrick Armstrong got a visit from canadian security people and [was] told to cease and desist his blog posts.”
That sounds extremely significant, if true.
Can you give a source for that claim?
Thanks very much for clarifying this issue.
And thanks very much for your valued and valuable series of reports on the situation in Ukraine!
They must take a lot of time and effort to prepare.
As I said, the result is much appreciated.
Strategic culture foundation is the name of the Moscow based web site. It has been recently cancelled. Patrick Armstrong was writing for them, then opened his own site, but had to desist (patrickarmstrong.ca). Tom Luongo (tomluongo.me) was also asked by the FBI to stop writing for strategic culture foundation. Pepe Escobar mentions them in a recent post on Consortium News. Strategic Culture Foundation has recently been cancelled by California Tech Cancel Culture, similar to the Ritter incident on Twitter. We know how to track down these excellent journalists elsewhere; and they refer us to other excellent journalists, like Patrick turning me on to Larry’s site. Can’t live in the dark of lies. Keep shining on….
All the concern has been about what President Putin will do if he is desperate. Will he go nuclear? I’m much more concerned about what US/UK/Nato will do. Would they rather have a nuclear war than see their abject policies and their Zelensky worship exposed for the dangerous clown-show that it is? These people claim to care about ‘civilians’ and ‘democracy’ but at the same time readily sacrifice our freedoms and our welfare and the lives of those fighting their proxy war. Monsters.
Excellent interview. I only take issue with one point you made when you said all the US military aid will not change the outcome. True in the larger sense but the real result will be many more dead and injured Ukrainians than there would have been without all the US “help”.
This “aid” will only make it that much harder for Ukraine to restore a functional society and economy.
An honorable surrender which the Russians offered the forces in Mariupol would have preserved much of the city. The US and UK clearly ordered their puppet Zelensky not to authorize any such surrender. This is reprehensible and in book unforgivable.
Its easy to imagine the west doubling and tripling down on absurd policies.
what isnt easy to imagine is what they they will do when push comes to shove. The west doesnt tale loses very easily and one to russia would be devastating.
Great interview. Unfortunately, the majority of people in the USA won’t see it.
More than in Europe unfortunately. Since the EU has censured RT.

I’m from the UK and not everyone here believes in the lies.
I’m also in touch with Russian friends in Moscow and here in the UK, letting them know many of us see through the corruption.
More will see it if you pass the URL to the interview to everyone you know.
Thank you for the post.
Great interview, good job Mr. Johnson.

+1 tellin’ it as you see it, and pretty much as it is 😉

Not actually correct. He was visited in December but it was in regards to him writing for a group based in Russia.

I appreciate all support. Kind words and financial.

“This is insanity.”
“Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad.”
I weep for our nation, Larry.
Only one thing I’d disagree with, Larry. “If it bleeds, it leads” – but not everywhere. People are bleeding in Ethiopia but no one cares.
Valid criticism.
