VERY good analysis. Russia wins. Period. But they have to be careful of what they win. You want Eastern Ukraine that is full of Ukrainians (not Russians) that has no assets? Most of the oil and gas fields are in the West. I think Russia grinds Europe and the US military to death over a year or so. They take Kharkiv, have a Dnieper defensive line, and get Odessa. Which gives them a land bridge to Transnistria. And most importantly, completely destroy the Ukrainian Army. The West keeps the financial blackhole of Kiev. And as you astutely point out, massive regime changes all thru the EU as their economies crumble. That is the win. And at some point, the USA will flail out at the NEXT proxy war and start something over Taiwan. And that is when we see if the Evil Empire dies a slow or fast death.
My understanding is that most of the ag, mineral and energy resources are in areas of Eastern Ukraine that the Russians are almost certain to occupy.
The current EU and USA leaders are not the types to admit they were wrong and change course, regardless if it results in the collapse of their countries economy and social cohesion.

On the question of what will happen next, I’m afraid Larry and Peter underestimate the depth of irrational enmity and fear that motivates Western institutions, particularly former Soviet bloc countries, expat Russian Jews (neocons) in the US and UK, and apparatchiks under the latter’s influence. I believe you are correct in your analysis of the military dimension but apparently do not grasp the West’s capability for terrorism which will increasingly afflict Russia and its newly incorporated territories in the Ukraine, no matter how diligently Russian leaders work to purge infiltrators and saboteurs. That dimension of war evaded the US Military in many of its adventures such as in Iraq, but the West has learned how to incorporate this dirty type of violence along with other tactics like propaganda and color revolutions and bribery into its clandestine operations. As long as there is nearly unlimited money to pay operatives and bribe leaders, this will continue to be a dangerous force working against the RF, and Putin won’t always be there as the president to recognize them and root them out. Only the collapse of the enormously wealthy and powerful Western economic system, including the RoW decisively turning against the banker elites, could enable Russia and China to prevent outside efforts to control their resources and to maintain their sovereignty. Although that seems to be the recent trend, it remains an open question in the long run whether the newly formed Eastern institutions can withstand the onslaught of Western economic and political pressures, which are also exerted against a broad range of trading partners in the Global South.

Our experts are much more restrained in their assessments: yes, the Patriot is a serious weapon, but it also has drawbacks.
Here they are:
The radar station does not have a circular view. Only in the direction of the expected threat. Already on this shortcoming it would be possible to put an end to it, since any approach of a rocket or aircraft, a drone from the flank or from behind will remain invisible to the Patriot.
The field of view is only 90 degrees. That means the other 270 are a dead zone. The minimum height of targets captured by radars is 30 meters. While modern cruise missiles can fly at a height and 20 meters from the ground. Not to mention kamikaze drones that can fly at a height of 10 meters.
The Patriot radar cannot track targets at speeds less than 30 meters per second. This means that low-speed drones, including artisanal ones, remain invisible.
The American Patriot was already heavily embarrassed in Saudi Arabia in 2019 when local Houthi rebels attacked oil plants. These enterprises protected American missile defense systems. And they did not save the Saudi factories from the Houthi missiles. They didn’t even react!

The American missile defense system will, as best it can, counteract Russian aviation. This means that our aircraft will have to stay away from the affected area. As for drones, when attacking a “flock” on a Patriot, its radar begins to choke. But the “Caliber” and “Daggers” with their crazy speed are not at all tough for an American.
But even with all this, the “Patriot factor” cannot be underestimated. In any case, its appearance will not weaken, but strengthen the air defense of Ukraine.
5. Can we destroy the Patriot?
First of all, of course, our intelligence should know the places of unloading and the routes of transportation of the American missile defense system in Ukraine. Then it is very easy to cover such a target with a hypersonic missile. Well, if it does not work out, you will have to “calibrate” the Patriot in position.
6. How might Patriot shipments affect US-Russian relations?

And the “new level” is the appearance in Ukraine of large full-time combat units of the US Army. After all, to maintain the Patriot complexes, not only security guards and drivers are needed, which can be quickly recruited from Ukrainians, but also experienced military experts, which means Americans. According to this article the Patriot system is blind (having no circular radar) for attacks from the flanks or from the back. This defect seems serious in the modern war theatre, where drones & cruise missiles are being sent on purpose from a direction whereof the enemy no threat is to be expected. The fire range of the Patriot: 30-120 km seems medieval compared with the 400 km of the Russian air defense system S400. Again the result of the force measurement between these rival systems will be the real battlefield test that will draw the interest of potential customers for such air defense systems. When even the Patriot will suffer a showdown, this will seriously have consequences for the US reputation on this market.
Patriots didn’t work against SCUDS, as soon as they turn on their radars, they’ll be destroyed. Ukie-kids turn on their phones to call home and immediately, the shooting starts. This isn’t going to take as long as some folks think, once it starts. The West doesn’t have the horsepower the elites think.
The Patriots used against SCUDs were not designed for missiles. The fact they hit any shows the radar and software are good. The newer Patriot missiles are designed for missiles, having data link and thrust vectoring. The Patriot is not going to change the outcome of the Russian victory, but don’t go too far the other way.
The new ones have been terrible in Saudi Arabia and Iraq. They didn’t even bother firing on the Iranian missiles that flew over the Erbil air base and US consulate to hit a CIA/Mossad station.
In KSA they’ve had a bad track record against Houthi drones and a well documented track record of Ukrainian style misfires into the ground.
They’re not terrible, but they’ve never been particularly successful in any mission where they were tested and they’ve never been tested against anything like a peer adversary.

A huge problem with Patriots. They are designed for use against ballistic missiles (pac-3). In order to work well against cruise missiles, they need an AWACs, like the US provides to Saudi. The US is not going to fly an AWACs over Ukraine, and without that, they are marginal against sub sonic low flying cruise missiles, and poor against supersonic cruise missiles. They can’t hit a hypersonic.
I could see them setting up one battery around Lvov, and flying an AWACs along the border. That would work against the KH-101 and Kalibre in the Lvov zone, but have basically zero impact on the war.
And as soon as they turn on that big radar, the Russians will know its exact position and can hit it with a Dagger if they choose.
AWACS have been flying all the time. They aren’t even trying to hide that NATO is active participant in this war.

Thanks for the link. I like how the potential threat of the RF using tactical nukes, and/or in conjuction with, chemical and biological weapons attacks, were worked – oh so subltly! – into the conversation, as if the prevocative AWACS flights were necessary to prevent the Russians from considering such dastardly ideas.

The Russians are under a lot of pressure. I can’t stress it enough, they are conducting this slow and methodical SMO while surrounded by America first strike nuclear warheads, perhaps as many as 2,000 of them.
And although the US does not have hypersonic missiles, they do have missiles that fly at hypersonic speeds. American sub-launced Tridents hit Mach 18 two minutes after launch, and the warheads these missiles release descend at Mach 24 in their terminal phase.
And more than a few American ballistic missile submarines, the ones that carry the Tridents, are sitting right off Russia’s coast, in the various Arctic Seas, which means the folks in the Kremlin, who are attempting to demilitarized the whole Western world with old timey artillery barrages, in matter of a minute or two might have to rethink the true value of an artillery shell in an existential war to the death.
And that’s all time they will have for consideration. Two minutes, tops.
Transitioning from small puffs of smoke to thermonuclear mushroom clouds, that’s what I think of when I hear such words as “escallation” being bandied about.
Russians are conducting this slow and methodical in order to prevent some kind of Pearl Harbor moment. Zelensky & co. are trying to create one. They fail to understand that they are disposable.
USA generals know that launching a single nuke at Russia would be the end of them. They don’t care about lives of others, but they do care about their own asses. Russians don’t have their nukes aimed at Kiev, but at Washington, London, etc. All of those nukes will be launched automatically if needed.

It would also be interesting to understand the scale US commercial interests, land for Monsanto, Cargill owning port, oil and gas assets the US had in Ukraine.
The UK I know in London was a slave holding place of Ukranian women and it was one of the main human trafficking centres for not just 100’s but tens of thousands of Ukranian girls and women. Not just in dodgy areas but they were held in some of the most expensive addresses.
The ugliness of this exploitation by the West is rarely touched on or properly understood. It is important to understand as the people behind it still represent a threat to everyone.
Likewise when you follow the money and links to transgender madness, it comes back to a handful of people literally pumping billions to change laws and brainwash and punish, largely US billionaires and Google, all heavily invested in the sex change drugs, ops, transplanting womb into males now technically possible.
There is an entire system set up from idea to funding to exploitation and control that is simply being moved from issue to issue. The state capture of the political class within this system is absolute in the West with the exception a few, of eg Hungary which holds traditional values.

Maybe this US created disaster will bring reform in the US but I doubt it, because the moral rot runs too deep and until we end the illegal Fed and the corruption on Wall Street, we can’t end the massive centralized fraud imposed by DC. We need to go back to a government based on the Articles of Confederation. The Constitution has failed and brought us to bankruptcy and the theft of $75 trillion from the bottom 80% of American workers since 1970.
