I know that some folks are holding out hope that the gravity of the losses Ukraine is suffering will bring the leaders of the U.S. Intelligence Community to their senses. Nope. Ain’t happening. Just read what the Director of Analysis for the Defense Intelligence Agency (aka DIA) is saying (note, Newsweek is wrong, Maul is not the head of DIA, he is their Director of Analysis):
There is a “realistic possibility” Kyiv could break through the rest of Russia’s defensive lines in southern Ukraine by the end of the year, according to the head of the U.S. military intelligence agency.
Kyiv has made “significant” progress in recent weeks, Trent Maul, the director of analysis at the Defense Intelligence Agency, told The Economist in a piece published on Wednesday.
And what is Dr. Maul’s qualifications for this exalted position? If you guessed a former sailor and political science major you are a winner. What the hell does a desk jockey squid know about combined arms and ground combat?
Dr. Maul previously served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy, having performed military capabilities analysis, counternarcotics and counterterrorism analysis, collections management, and HUMINT targeting (including Defense Attaché training) during his service. Additionally, Dr. Maul’s professional experience includes working on military issues in national and international legislative arenas, as well as in academia, having been an adjunct faculty member of the National Intelligence University.
Dr. Maul received his Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and Political Science; his M.A. from King’s College, University of London; and his B.A. with highest distinction and departmental honors from the University of Kansas.
Dr. Maul has zero experience doing analysis on the Russian military. Maul is just repeating what his analysts are telling him. I am sure he tasked the guys and gals working on the Ukraine Task Force to gin up some talking points, which he used as the foundation for his comments to Ellie Cook, the Newsweek correspondent. Surprisingly, Maul admits that Ukraine faces ammunition shortages (which means the U.S. can’t supply enough), deteriorating weather and well-constructed Russian defenses, but still insists that Ukraine can break through. This is intelligence malpractice in my opinion:
Progress through southern Ukraine has been painstakingly slow, with extensive mines and thoroughly prepared Russian defenses holding up Kyiv’s advance. More than three months into the counteroffensive efforts—which Ukraine has said it had hoped to begin earlier in the year—another set of obstacles could quickly come into Kyiv’s path.
Scarce ammunition supplies and deteriorating weather conditions could trip up Kyiv’s progress, Maul said, making the smashing up of Russia’s defenses by the end of the year a “very difficult” goal.
As the months wear on, Ukraine’s forces get closer to facing the country’s muddy season, known as rasputitsa.
This presents an added risk to Ukraine’s counteroffensive forces, as the Western-made main battle tanks may end up getting stuck in the quagmires, Marina Miron, a post-doctoral researcher at the War Studies Department at King’s College London, told Newsweek.
Limited ammunition stocks have plagued Kyiv’s counteroffensive efforts. The U.S. unveiled a new military aid package on Wednesday to send additional artillery supplies to Ukraine.
I wonder if Dr. Maul understands the meaning of the phrase, “realistic possibility”, in assessing Ukraine’s ability to break through the Russian lines? Ukraine is short of soldiers, equipment and ammunition. Ukraine also is bereft of air cover. I cannot think of a single example in the history of modern warfare where an outnumbered attacking force has been able to breach 30 kilometers deep of defensive lines without combat air and with limited artillery support. I leave it to you, dear readers, to help educate me on this point. The job of intelligence analysts is to report the facts and shy away from spin. Dr. Maul is guilty of spinning in my view.
I did a radio interview earlier today with Tara Reade, the woman who has accused Joe Biden of sexual assault (my portion starts around the 30:00 minute mark — just click on the link).
I also did a virtual sit down with my friend, Rasheed Muhammed, and we discussed Blinken’s latest visit to Ukraine:
The important take away is not that these guys don’t know what they are saying, but that whatever they are saying tells one the direction the US is taking in this conflict. It is akin to the weather report on the White House with respect to Ukraine.
And here is one more “weather report” by the Atlantic.

However the reality is:
Since the Cold War NATO has been the single most expansive and expensive military alliance in history.
And it might collapse by 2025.
This could be caused both by the Republican Party in America, and the growing aversion in Europe, regarding the NATO Proxy war against Russia in Ukraine.
The majority within America and Europe can’t see the point in arming a fascist regime to bomb civilians in Donbass, and a major popular shift has arrived against the decade long confrontational policy of NATO.
As evidence mounts of Ukrainian atrocities in Eastern Ukraine, and while the Junta in Kiev shows itself willing to commit almost any crime, and it sees no problem in sending its male population to be slaughtered in Eastern Ukraine, many Europeans have come to see this NATO proxy war as a threat to their own safety.
As Russia now occupy large pieces of Ukraine, NATO leader’s plans to institute constant terror operations against Russia from inside Ukraine.
However, that will force Russia to seize all of Ukraine, or even invade Poland.
And that is what NATO leaders are aiming for, in order to bring NATO into direct war with Russia.
As a consequence, former staunch NATO supporters in Europe and America are now taking Putin’s side.
Suspicion toward US involvement in Ukraine has become the consensus of the GOP.
Even the Heritage Foundation officials have called for halting US aid until Biden has a plan to end the war.
During last week’s GOP presidential debate: Trump was held out of the debate, but he has previously talked against US involvement in Ukraine, and that Europe must grow up to keep its own security on the continent.
The reality is that, since 1992 European Nations has largely slipstreamed behind the U.S. on security matters.
This has made the US the biggest seller of weaponry to NATO while European states have produced and sold far less defense equipment than they would otherwise have done.
Simultaneously, The EU has committed every EU Nation to central military planning.
For years, EU political Agents in smaller EU Nations have implemented their Nations to reduce its National military; instead of having a defense of their own, these Nation have accepted to rely on leading EU Nations and NATO for their defense. This means that many EU Nations lacks the production and military capacity to fend off potential enemies, if NATO breaks up.
However the Scandinavian population is not desperate enough to cancel their own defense, independence and sovereignty. These Nations should follow the lead of Trump and cut a deal with Putin, rebuild their defenses, and implement a Nordic Alliance. And that would be the end of the planed EU Army.
As the EU population has to once again pay for the resurrection of their National defense, they will have no one to blame but the political Agents who sold out their Nations Sovereignty to the EU.
So our first task is to vote these political NAZI whores out of our National parliaments, and exit the EU.
I think Putin and Xi see the futility of being nickel-and-dimed by the US/ZATO “weakening” strategy. The U$/EU/ZATO is not capable of fighting any war NOW. Russia and China should pre-emptively (RTP the Rest Of The World) declare war on the US (NOT NATO) now, don’t wait for a rinse-repeat in any number of proxy wars. See how many U$ vassals leap to Article 5 which will also assure their destruction… not many I bet.
WW3 WILL be also fought on North American soil, long distance, by hypersonic weapons the US can’t defend against. And Russia needs only use conventional warheads to decapitate the US nuke “umbrella”, especially the silo-based relics.
The US is scrambling to reverse-engineer Russian hypersonics to restore MAD, and is botching it. The current “whistling past the graveyard” tactic of a frantic wall of denial of reality is to buy time while the US tries to match Russian/Chinese tech advantage in hypersonic ballistics and drone/combined arms. Worked for Minsk 1&2, and even the Istanbul round. But no more, Putin showed the US’s “agreement incapable” handiwork in writing to the African leaders.
Both Putin and Xi see this same tactic for what it is (if I can see it, they surely must), and Poland is to be the next major “delay” and “weakening” of Russia to keep the Clinton/Obama/Nuland NeoCon Administration (sorry, Biden) in place past 2024 until the US catches up. But like the dog chasing a bus, what will the US do when it catches it? Having blown all the debt-budget in Ukraine and assorted proxy wars, the US may find the MIC isn’t interested/capable of actually producing cost-effective weapons that work. Think the F-35 or Abrams tank of hypersonic weapons. The US gov’t can’t even produce it’s own rocket motors, is NASA still buying old-gen Russian ones? Or did they screw that pooch with sanctions too? Obviously couldn’t figure out how to reverse-engineer them, so that is left to amateurs like Musk and Bezos.
I don’t think Poland will be allowed the 2 years they think it will take to build their wonderwaffe. Russia will be at the Polish, Romanian borders long before that. And the Polish politicians and public will be able to consider how full they want their graveyards to be. “Be the first one on your block to have your boy come home in a box.”
The US NeoCons think that because they rule Canada (via the Freeland-led Trudeau/Singh Cabal) and the EU they can wage a major war. WRONG, resource breath, it will take years, if not decades to (re?)build the mining/manufacturing base to produce at a level to outstrip the Russian/Chinese on this simple fact. Maybe bombing Nordstream2 and de-industrializing Germany/EU wasn’t a smart idea after all… An intact EU manufacturing sector relying on US LNG shipments might have helped keep the weapons coming… but not now.
It’s almost as if the Rothschild Class had decided after the US/EU failure to grab post-Soviet Russia and keep China in internal uproar, to bring down the incompetent US$/EU/ZATO system and replace it with the Great Reset. But then those pesky BRICSers Putin and Xi stole the prize.
Question: How many blood Rothschilds died in WW2? None, near as I can find. When nearly every family around the world lost someone in WW2. Things that make ya go HHHHMMMM…
“All wars are banker’s wars.”
“the growing aversion in Europe, regarding the NATO Proxy war against Russia in Ukraine”
As a European, I can tell you that, at least the spanish population, is totally unaware of anything except what is fed by the media. Putin is a thug, and the chinese are all dying of old and about to collapse in economical dissaster.
Nato will not fall because of the European population. We are hugh pockets ready to serve our hungry goverments.
You cannot bring ideologues to reality. They will go down with their ideology. The COVID bump has replaced the Nazi salute. “Spike Proteins!” has replaced “Seig Heils!”
The majority within America and Europe can’t see the point in arming a fascist regime to bomb civilians in Donbass
You’re assuming they knew of the two elements above. THEY DON’T!
What they may be perceiving though is that the regime in Kiev is completely unhinged but I doubt that too, since the automatic extrapolation would be that the Biden regime and its EU counterparts are equally unhinged.
How does one unhinged regime tell that another regime is just as unhinged as they are?
norwegian intelligence is welcomed to my yard any time.
but norway and denmark was grandfathered into nato after the war, and the grand scandinavian defense was such butchered. what on earth happens in the finnish minds at this time, is boynd comprehension.
us will easily kill any russian, to the last finn.
the nordics is, a faboulous could have been.
They are salesmen that is all. The tiles are part of the sales pitch, the high sounding name to convey control and knowledgeable. Odd that one hand we get main stream media saying the Ukrainians cannot win then on the other they can. I wish they would get their story straight. Maybe it is a way to cover your rear when things go wrong.
What i worry is what i heard Mark Sleboda say that this conflict will go on for years with Russia being constantly harassed by Ukr. I cannot believe Russia can allow Ukr to go on as an independent country with such a threat over their heads.
Is the Russian state brittle? Do they have a smooth process if something happens to Putin? I expect they would, but after Prighozin i wonder. That was crazy and if you are a neocon you will see that as evidence of weakness. Seeing things through their lenses it is a chaotic situation. But from the Russian side it may not be a big deal. It’s like the family next door that when there is a disagreement it escalates quickly to loud arguing, but they all love each other and will turn on anyone that tries to meddle. Westerners tend to see everything only thru their lenses.
“What i worry is what i heard Mark Sleboda say that this conflict will go on for years with Russia being constantly harassed by Ukr. I cannot believe Russia can allow Ukr to go on as an independent country with such a threat over their heads.”
This conflict is just one aspect of what is already referred to as WWIII. It will go on for a while, and end up in rearrangement of the whole World. Whether there will be Ukraine after that, or what the borders would look like, no one can tell. When the World gets to the end point, no one will care (not than many care now).
Russians do not have a smooth process if something happens to Putin. Having stong leader in times of war is crucial, and those are not easy to come by. That’s why the West it so focused on removing Putin (and others, like Orban, and Imran Khan). For them this conflict is not about Ukraine, but about removing Putin. Everything is about removing Putin.
You should watch Jack Devine on Judge Napolitano show, to see the World through those lenses. It’s all about Putin (and US being exceptional, of course).
Putin runs the war as part of STAVKA just as in Stalin’s time.
Putin is surrounded by Siloviki and has his grouping from St Petersburg round him – no doubt Medvedev would be candidate of choice……..but it is not a one-man show which is why Americans particularly are led astray – they think because ALL EXECUTIVE POWER rests in Joe Biden that the same is true in Russia.
Americans don’t bother understanding how Russia, or any other country, work. Everything is automatically boiled down to one individual, that must go. Assad must go, was when the things went astray, for some reason (the reason being Putin, of course).
Biden himself is run by siloviki. We call them neocons here.
Putin is removed you get Dmitry Medvedev. Then this goes from being a Russian SMO to a real war.
Medvedev is just playing his part in “good cop, bad cop” routine. If he replaces Putin, he will try to stay on the same road.
Medvedev is clearly on a revenge binge. He once embraced what he thought were ‘European values’, only to find they were vaporware at best and designed to deceive at worst. In his mind Russia, and he most of all have been made fools of. It’s the geopolitical equivalent of being cuckolded by a deceitful spouse. His revenge will be nothing to sneer at.
@Pogo
Many have come trough similar journey, including myself. Still, revenge is not what normal people use as a base for state policy. Medvedev is not Nuland.
There is a difference between trolling on Telegram, and actually doing things. Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster.
Which would delight the NATO ghouls. They very much want Russia to do that *one thing* that lets them trumpet to the last history book how Russia started WW3.
Putin knows this and I’m quite sure Lavrov has told every reasonable contact they have no intention of taking the bait: so if something bigger goes up it wasn’t Russia who started it.
Where mediocrity reigns supreme.
Can anyone please maul the truth into the head of this nincompoop?
I wonder what “Trent” thinks my chances are of going out with Gisele Bundchen.
It might be a realistic possibility.
There is a realistic possibility for you to make significant progress, with proper NATO tactics. Throw flashbang trough her window, charge in, tie her up, and take her out. If something goes wrong, blame Putin, or lack of air support.
This ‘breakthrough’ and march to Melitopol they speak of is confusing me for 3 months already.
Let’s just say they accomplished such a breakthrough and began a march to Melitopol, then what? They’re then surrounded on 3 sides (maybe 4) and fired on as they go. Wouldn’t that be called running a very deadly gauntlet?
Rosjanie nie mają sił bo dupkowaty Putin nie zorganizował żadnej kolejnej mobilizacji. Rosji brakuje żołnierzy nawet do obrony
Poláci mají všechny síly v prdeli.
The Poles have all the power in the ass.
According to plan, once breakthrough is achieved, Russians are supposed to get really scared, and run away in panic. That’s how preceding glorious Ukro victories were achieved, according to western experts.
I saw this video today. Funniest thing ever and sums up Washington & Virginia in 5 minutes.
“Know-nothing” US VP Harris warns N. Korea. “Huge mistake.” She doesn’t know where N. Korea is!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6q63nErEno
I laughed a lot at the video, although I should have cried instead ! This woman is one of the highest-level government representatives who represents the strongest power on the planet, and she doesn’t even know what she’s talking about, or even basic geographical concepts ! However, she only represents those who elected him, and presumably shes voters did not even notice that she has no idea what she is reading from a paper that was put in front of her ! I would like to know how many American voters noticed that Ms. Harris’s speech contained such a big strategic mistake ?
“- strongest power on the planet” – ?! This is what I laughed at in your comment. I think you need to lay off those hallucinations inducing mushrooms for a while.. : )
Cosman is always a worthwhile listen.
Never subtle, Cosman makes his point forcefully and humorously. He has >70,000 subscribers, some of whom enjoy his rants despite his copious use of profanities, others because of it. One thing is he never is: boring
I still can’t decide whether to think that these people really believe fervently in his speech, or if they are just following the script of cognitive warfare directed at public opinion.
It is all about managing public perception including in Russia. These talking heads get briefed on the realities on the ground and then decide what they are going to go out onto their various stages, AND SAY.
Having a public face and then a private one at odds with your public persona, is curiously consoling. These talking heads are not emotionally invested in the nonsense they spout. They just believe you will be, if it is said often enough and with enough apparent conviction. They know it is crap.
The failure then is just a failure of a posture. Another posture can be found. Think of the stand against Assad…. the Taliban…..
There has never been a single MSM comment in the UK about the futility of UK soldiers’ lives lost and irrevocably changed as a result of the fighting in Afghanistan. Not a word. It is as if it never happened, outside of some happy clappy charity work with brave veterans.
It’s the 5 stages of grief. Many are still at stage 1 (Denial); some pundits have reached stage 3 (Bargaining).
Lets hope that stage 5 (mutual destruction) will not be reached!
“I leave it to you, dear readers, to help educate me on this point. ”
This is my two bit. There is a thing like a magic wand that can be used to play a piano without using hands. It is magic that is known to a very few people and THAT is the secret weapon that will be deployed in this winter. The Americans know that the Grand Wizard has been perfecting this magic wand for quite some time and that is why they are so confident. Since this is magic and not military technology, military experts like you and Martyanov and the military academies of Russians have no clue to what it can do.
So my advice to you, as per your request, is to watch Netflix and chill as Elon Musk has suggested.
Sumant, if a guest interviewed by Tucker is to be believed, Obama has great knowledge of the Magic Wand, and I would not be surprised if he inspected its pulsating power personally. It may explain why Obama keeps pausing during his speeches, as if he is constantly clearing his throat. I’m sure that Obama has imparted this great knowledge to his protege. NATO, swollen with such pride, has nothing to worry about.
The American Grand Wizard can not handle black magic wands.

Lipstick on a corpse.
Hidden in Blinken’s address was the real reason why this war has to continue, and if necessary to continue with cannon fodder from the Baltic states- because acknowledging failure would be the end of NATO, and so the end of the US grip on europe. It would also mark the beginning of a vast pan european rapprochement with Russia-China. The US, facing pressure from the global south, cannot bear this final ignominy. Would it start a direct hot war to avoid this, like TC believes?
Nope, because european nations will absolutely not support that. They are not about to become a bombed out version of the ME to suit the US- that really would be the end of NATO and even the serious suggestion would turn europe actively hostile to the US. The Baltic states have already bitten back on a push by the other NATO nations to encourage them to go in without the NATO umbrella.
So where does that leave the US? Presumably continuing to fund this madness as european support dwindles sotto voce, until a new regime takes over in the US to finally enact a mercy killing.
Only NATO europe can pull the plug right now- by threatening to go public with a refusal to continue to back the NATO-US war effort. That schism in NATO would effectively mark its end. The US can either take the lead and own the narrative by withdrawing support from Ukraine forcing it to the negotiating table, or the decision gets done for it. The ground work is now being done for the former move.
That is not going to happen. The ballots are already counted. Joe Biden wins re-election. And the Europeans will do whatever the US tells them to do. The ONLY thing that could change this would be a series of cascading elections that changed the political leadership of Europe. But even with change, it is the same story. Look at the great Hope of Italy – Meloni. As big a warmonger as the last. There is no realistic hope of the entrenched leadership of Europe changing.
EU nations will support whatever they are ordered to support. They will hate Putin, kill cows, eat bugs, own nothing, and be happy.
Funnily, Maul is the German word for mouth or gob
In less polite circles than here it would usually be ‘halts maul’ meaning shutup your face
the most humane method of ending the conflict in ukraine is for russia to make living conditions for the general population increasingly unbearable throughout the winter of 2023/2024: the resultant, comprehensive breakdown of civilian infrastructure in cities such as kiev and lvov with the ensuing large-scale exodus of the populace towards western europe would practically guarantee a quick – and overall acceptable – end to this sickening war.
THIS. If Putin actually turned the lights out. Hit the power centers instead of the transformers. Sent a wave of refugees from Ukraine flooding into Europe. Turned Kiev into a freezing and lightless tomb. When did World War 2 turn? Firebombing Dresden. Nuking Japan. So far, the coke rave parties of the young and rich children of the oligarchs are still going on in Odessa and Kiev.
But Putin has shown no willingness to do that. So, the chain ganged draftees will die. Russian artillery ahead of them. Nazi Ukrainian execution squads behind them if they run.
For years.
This war does not end with the collapse in Kiev, but in Brussels. Long term peace can come only after NATO is done, and that won’t happen this winter.
I fully agree. Killing transformers instead of human beings would save human lives. But do the Nazis deserve to live, to produce more Nazis and continue creating hate-fueled misery in perpetuity? I would think Putin understands that he IS being humane in putting the Nazis out of their cursed lives of hate and more hate and no positivity whatsoever.
The West invested a lot in the war against Russia, and I think that weapons and money for Ukraine will not disappear, despite the emptying of warehouses and the collapse of the economy. But the problem is people. The best Ukrainian fighters were killed or wounded. Zelensky has called for a new mobilization, he is asking the EU to return Ukrainians of military age to him, the number of mercenaries is decreasing. A story was published this morning that some agency in Spain is recruiting for the Ukrainian army, for a monthly salary of 3,400 euros. 200 interested people applied, but the agency admits that not all of them are ready to fight. By the way, Spain has 46.5 million inhabitants, but also a lot of refugees from North Africa, whose status of residence in the country is not resolved, so they could be tempted by some benefits if they fight in Ukraine.
That’s roughly double the money Russians are offering. On the other hand, those joining Russian side have realistic possibility of living long enough to see the cash and spend it.
“Dr. Maul received his Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and Political Science; his M.A. from King’s College, University of London; ”
It should be clear by now why that is a problem :
“Wonderful is the effect of impudent and persevering lying. The British ministry have so long hired their gazetteers to repeat and model into every form lies about our being in anarchy, that the world has at length believed them, the English nation has believed them, the ministers themselves have come to believe them, and what is more wonderful, we have believed them ourselves. Yet where does this anarchy exist?” -Thomas Jefferson.
Impudent and persevering lying is a British trademark – look where EU dignitaries got their training – The London School of Economics.
Ursula von der Leyen , EU Commission President, studied there under a false name Rose Ladson. Then became the German Defense Ministry chief and totally wrecked the Army. Promoted upstairs to the EU Commission to lecture the world about “values”.
https://www.tagesspiegel.de/politik/die-morgenlage-aus-der-hauptstadt-wer-war-rose-ladson/24592960.html
And German Foreign Minister Baerbock, Green and warhawk :

It sure looks like LSE dishes out Masters without Bachelors, in Impudent and persevering lying.

She does not have Master’s Degree.
After Thatcher decided to turn British Universities into money-grabbing larcenists on the US model they looked for cheap classroom-based courses to sell for quick money. They invented the “One Year Master Course” which is not a real “Master” degree with research or dissertation or viva voce.
Baerbock did not get a Diploma in Germany but what they call a Vordiplom (if that) which is meaningless – it means you were present……..she then enrolled in a 12 month course in London sold as “LL.M” but stating quite clearly it is NOT a legal qualification
It is attending a few courses and paying a fee to get a piece of paper.
The best one is to get a Ph.D – nurses love getting these so they can be called “Dr”
Even German degrees are trash – Kohl had a Ph.D these on the CDU in Rheinland-Pfalz……at the time he wrote it the CDU was around 7 years old…………
Merkel has a Stasi Ph.D but noone can find the Marxist-Leninist Dissertation that was a requirement in GDR for ideological sanctity of Ph.D – so she probably had a Stasi degree awarded for show
Many German politicians are University dropouts – like the Party Secretary SPD; the Green Party Secretary dropped out of TWO universities;………since there are no tuition fees in Germany it is not as if you could run out of funds
British 1-Year Masters are toilet paper…….but US ‘mastered’ the art of framing toilet paper degree certificates
It feels like the US, and more broadly Western, analysts are very commonly suffering from that Hollywood/video game style misconception about what and how wins a war. They’re still fantasizing about how any kind of opposing force can get beaten by “small elite forces” and they fully believe in the Ukraine being an “elite force” (what a hellish joke, in light of how the AFU is conducting its blanket press-ganging campaign and what surrendering AFU soldiers subsequently say about it).
After all, remember how in virtually every Western media production the protagonist team is always hopelessly outnumbered and outgunned by the villain team, but always wins on the basis of every “bad guy” being a blockhead only existing to die and make the heroes look cool apart from a couple “main” villains? That’s something they think happens in real war too, that Russia is the Galactic Empire and Western proxies are the Rebels, who’re just FATED to win simply because the plot is on their side. They never realize their plans to attack Russia are not the plot of real life and they can’t just use writer fiat to make their heroes win in the end regardless of conditions.
Also in Hollyweird movies, bad guys can’t aim at all while the good guys have perfect aim, infinite ammo and never have to reload.
So yea. War planning based on hollywood.
Is there really anything “DELUSIONAL” about what these officials are doing?
Looks and reads like the Hunter Biden laptop. They are not delusional, they are in Americans public face being outright corrupt.
A paper salesman is trying to sell a printer. He don’t know much about printing and his prime goal is to sell paper anyway.
Would you trust this guy ?
I agree wholeheartedly with Larry. The utter garbage produced by this stupidly grinning, spinelessly spinning, DIA bobble-head is disgusting indeed. People like that are responsible for the deaths of the hapless Ukrainian servicemen, because their idiotic “assessments” are fodder for the western war machine.
He appears very uncomfortable. Wanker looks like he’d rather be mauling young hot-dogs with Barry Sotero at a DC bathhouse than foisted into pushing state propaganda to the local media!
Ideocracy => conformism => mediocracy => idiocracy. Yeah, I know I’m a drag.
If we are to go by the experience of Vietnam, only the military defeat of the Ukrainians with the Russians taking over Kiev and forcing the Americans to evacuate their embassy will Washington and its various shills concede defeat, Unfortunately, unlike Vietnam, with Americans not coming home in body bags and causing domestic resistance to the war, there will be no pretence at negotiations as the US commenced with North Vietnam in 1970 four years before the end of the war.
Noone wants negotiations with USA.
It is a futile exercise as the word……. недоговороспособнa ………makes evident
NOONE on earth trusts Americans to honour any contract, let alone agreement or treaty, they violated the sovereignty of Russian Consulates INSIDE the USA……..they revoke treaties at will………they made an agreement with Ghadaffi then murdered him…….they tore up arms control treaties……..
WAR is now a permanent state – there is no state of peace possible with the USA – it must completely change its constitutional entity and shrink its military footprint globally
“WAR is now a permanent state”
“War” is not restricted to things that go bang, hence your content in quotation marks above is the hope of some in various presentations predicated upon linear paradigms of win/lose continuums, whilst the purpose of an increasing sum of some others from inception has been transcendence – lateral process; not the linear process of win/lose.
Hence
“USA – it must completely change its constitutional entity and shrink its military footprint globally” is one possible lateral vector of many, as is “USA – it must not completely change its constitutional entity and shrink its military footprint”, as functions of the lateral interactions of agency, motivation, and perception of many throughout the world, which some deem to be “more delusional thinking”.
“….the hope of some in various presentations predicated upon linear paradigms of win/lose continuums” not restricted to:
https://mearsheimer.substack.com/p/the-darkness-ahead-where-the-ukraine
since delusion is systemic as a function of purpose.

“Which one of you two is gazing into mirror more?”
” … the hope of some in various presentations predicated upon linear paradigms of win/lose continuums”
not restricted to:
https://mearsheimer.substack.com/p/the-darkness-ahead-where-the-ukraine
since delusion is systemic as a function of purpose and framing/methods derived there from, hence “More delusional thinking from the “United States” is not surprising but systemic, whilst testing hypotheses are not restricted to or achieved by “thought experiments”, but through implementation as Mr. Mearsheimer and his associates have been complicit in illustrating from at least 1971 onwards, including but not limited to the notion of sustainable detente with “The Soviet Union” predicated on “convergence theory”, whilst others understood that gazing in mirrors restricts focus and projection is often in hope of catalysing “penis envy” by pissing contests – Mr. Rove’s observation in regard to “We are an Empire, We create our own reality” refers.
Reading about these people is taxing. It’s a weakness, but I find it hard to suffer fools. I can’t imagine how exhausting it must be and the toll it takes to write about these fools. God bless you, Larry
Someone needs to supply these people with a simple map, like I saw a few days ago on a substack.
It showed the whole of the front line, with Russia’s side in red. Two miniscule bits of blue along the line showed the entirety of Ukr’s progression in its counteroffensive.
One image said it all.

Urgent message for Larry Johnson: you must be doing something right because sonar21.com has just been hard banned from Reddit! It means any post or comment that links here is automatically rejected without even notifying the poster.
reddit was taken over by the Atlantic Council, the NATO stink tank, in 2019.

This made me check Larry’s Wikipedia page for the first time. Unsurprisingly there is a history of edit war happening there (a low intensity one).
Larry Johnson Dr Maul has PHD from England, you don’t. The tactical genius Dr Maul is correct: there’s a possibility that Ukraine could break thru, >1%.
🤣
Great interview with Rasheed Muhammad. The conflict in Ukraine began with the US-sponsored 2014 Revolution of Dignity (aka Maidan coup), when Joe Biden was Vice President under Obama. Since becoming President in 2021, Biden has made the Ukraine campaign his signature war, which is rapidly evolving into an encore performance of the 2 decade-long, $2 trillion military debacle in Afghanistan which will be remembered by the front-page photographs of Afghans, who collaborated with occupying US forces, desperately clinging to the wings and wheels of US military transport departing from Kabul airport. After ‘investing’ so much financial and material support to Ukraine, Biden is incapable of extricating himself from this conflict as doing so is an admission of failure and by extension military weakness. Biden has backed himself into the proverbial ‘corner’ with no good exit strategy, violating a fundamental tenet of Sun Tzu’s ‘The Art of War’. The combination of exploding debt along with military debacles in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, and Ukraine, along with potential new conflicts in Central Africa (Niger) and South China Sea are progressively undermining the status of the dollar as world reserve currency, which has underpinned post-WWII US power. This begs the question, will Biden and his neocon advisors decide to go for broke and target Russian forces with tactical nuclear weapons?
“The conflict in Ukraine began with the US-sponsored 2014 Revolution of Dignity ”
It is always difficult to determine when a lateral process started whilst certainty is the greatest weakness.
Consequently “This begs the question, will Biden and his neocon advisors decide to go for broke and target Russian forces with tactical nuclear weapons?” is not begged by some, since interaction facilitates opportunities of agency to all interlocuters, whose perception is obfuscated by/to others who deem themselves already “exceptional” which can render them complicit in being exceptional in becoming surplus to requirements.
Perhaps a fuller understanding of Presidential Decree of The Russian Federation number 355 of 2nd June 2020 may prove beneficial?

DoD Intelligence probably can’t “add much value” with their services in the UKR Theater since the RUS MoD, all sorts of Govt/MIC/Merc Public/Private Organizations, Soldiers, and Independent Bloggers/Podcasters are “covering” the Theater.
When the Internet, Pro-Am Videographers, Private Satellite Companies, and Webcams become ubiquitous…
I haven’t read his Bio; but generally the Military Intel Types that don’t come from Front Line (Combat/Crypto) Fields tend to be similar to Newsdesk Journos and TV Metrologist – some are earnest+productive+good at what they do; but we know they’re dependent on the quality/accuracy of 2nd/3rd hand interpretations.
“Silver wings upon his chest,

Think it was Barry Sadler’s, hit of the Green berets, the movie from 1965, made it to the charts, with John Wayne, in Vietnam, but it aint that bad situation today, because no one will produce such a movie today, if compare, but then there was a growing peacemovement, because of the US losses in the war, but Apocalypse Now, from 1979, was the last movie, of that mad war.
But will there be a movie about the Ukrainian trenches, and the Azov’s blocking detachments in the rear? But today, US/Nato/EU are the main and most dangerous blocking detachments for the whole of Ukra-ine!
Secretary of State Antony Blinken delivered a similarly optimistic message during his trip to Kyiv on Wednesday. “In the ongoing counteroffensive, progress has accelerated in the past few weeks. This new assistance will help sustain it and build further momentum,” he said at a press conference.
The official [Sy Hersh’s anonymous intel Deepthroat] says that message is being delivered from military intelligence to the White House, while the CIA has drawn other conclusions [emphasis in original]. “This kind of reporting from the military intelligence community is going to the White House. There are other views,” he said, referring to the CIA. The official explained those views do not reach President Joe Biden. — Kyle Anzalone quoted in ZeroHedge

Biden won’t run. Biden won’t win. You people really don’t get it. The gloves are off. The fix is in. They could give a fuck about law, or rule, or Constitution. Biden will be the next President. They might mummify him and elect him again after that. He is the perfect figurehead for the ruling elite that has ALWAYS ran this country.
And the war in Ukraine will go on. If we exterminate the Ukrainians as a people? We will send the Polacks. Or we will offer citizenship to anyone that goes to fight.
I’m 63. I’ve learned one thing. The Bad Guys always win. That is why movies are popular. Because for 2 hours you can eat your popcorn and pretend the good guys will win.

“Maul” translated in German means “Animal Snout.” How appropriate for this guy.
Maulwurf – a Mole from London School of Economics and Kings College London.
Saw an interesting article on ZeroHedge today quoting an unnamed “official” at CIA who was saying the Military Intel people are giving out b.s. analysis that the media is trumpeting but that CIA is giving realistic assessments that are being ignored and never reach the WH. It looks to me like rival factions are starting to throw each other under the bus.
This was also the case with Honecker.
He did not accept the corresponding situation analyses and took them seriously.
He also confirmed this in a video.
In the Russian military hospital in Beelitz after his departure.
He had an ideal world played for him on “records”.
Today the sound carriers are substantially improved.
I have been unfortunate enough to have worked with some naval intelligence guys. They are genuine knuckle draggers.
This is useful not because of what it says but because it contains three pieces of information that back up what Mr. Johnson was saying i.e. that the Ukrainian offensive is a total flop, it’s in the first graph – the territory held by Russia by the end of each week, a simple map follows showing where the two adversaries currently are, the third graph essentially confirms the first differently.
The narrative is fresh dated Sept 8, but you will have to leave your e-mail with the paper unless you subscribe:

Funny…
Just few hours ago I guesstimated the war would be dragged on until end of 2023 at least.
My gut feelings, among some other points were as follows:
* Vaguely defined “team Trump” needs to keep war going until the elections, so constantly nipping “team Biden” with bad news about Ukraine, keeping it a permanent background noise; but also to lay groundwork to quick peace after the (Trump’s) elections, like Hungary started cheering for recently. Year, that would be a damn complex balancing act, like walking a line under circus roof. But they should at least push for it.
* USA needs to undo 10 years of “fragile Russia almost done for” propaganda, including that new norm reflex of stigmatizing dissenters and crytical thinking.
Maybe new “crazy mobilization” news stream from Ukriane is American polit-technologists testing “shock deprogramming” methods on Ukrainian lab rats to later use it at home (I still think Ferguson was in part tested in Vradievka). Basically, overflow people with horror for their personal well-being to devalue everything they were programmed to demand and root for.
* At the same time Kremlin seems to be on the rising water, making it a time to escalate demands, to bring all the accounts for all 10 years of insults and demand EU to “pay the debt” (when else?) . And both Medvedev’s rants in TG and domestic laws tightening seems signaling (truly or as bargaining chip) preparing for a real war with NATO.
Not sure those needs align well.
The entire US strategy – at least that which is spoken of in public – is based on Marvel Comic book cultural assumptions which leave US analysts incapable of imagining the Russian Army as beyond incompetent. I suppose the upside for American and Ukraine thinkers is that they are getting rid of a segment of the Ukrainian population both Biden and Zelensky think of as deplorables – rural, small town, ethnic Russians.
Those cultural assumptions predate Marvel Comic books by few centuries. All invasions on Russia assumed that Russian Army is beyond incompetent. Genocide of “lesser humans” is also part of the tradition. The only noticable Marvel contribution is spandex fetishism.
What is this about Lindsey Graham getting indicted??
“Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., responded to a Georgia special grand jury report on their probe into alleged efforts to overturn the state election in 2020. Graham was recommended for charges but not ultimately indicted by the Fulton County district attorney in connection with the case.”
I say we give the Lindsay Graham a plea bargain deal. We put Lindsey on the Ukrainians front line and Lindsey gets to kill as many Russian as he wants, or can, before he ends up beside a sunflower covered field with a blue and yellow flag over his royal ex-senator keister.
Also makes me wonder, are they starting to eat each other in Washington???? God, I hope so.
