The whores that masquerade on a daily basis as news readers or pundits on the mainstream media are like any normal cheerleader. They will shout passionately on behalf of their team at the start of the game but fall silent once a total ass whipping is underway. Pretty tough to shout, “Two bits, Four bits, Six bits, a Dollar, all for Zhelensky stand up and holler”, when there is no good news to show on the nightly newscasts. The presstitutes are suckers for video showing a ship getting hit with a Ukie missile and sinking, or a Ukie jet strafing a line of stalled Russian tanks, or Ukie artillery raking the positions of entrenched Russian soldiers.
But those videos are not available. The best Ukraine can produce are clips pulled from realistic video games that even confuse hardened warriors (sarcasm alert) like Barry McCaffrey. Imagine my shock today to read this headline and story from CNN. (Note–The CNN story confirms as true the analysis that Andrei Martyanov and I have offered):
Former US soldier now fighting in Ukraine tells of days trapped in ‘house of horrors’
Kevin is part of a group of elite foreign special forces veterans, primarily American and British, who have enlisted to help the Ukrainian cause.
He says that back in March, the group spent four days in the health spa – they called it “the house from hell” – often just 50 meters from Russian troops. It was, he says, the furthest-forward Ukrainian-held position in Irpin, a suburb on the outskirts of Kyiv, as Russian forces tried to push on through to seize the capital. . . .
Despite a career as a former top-level US counter-terrorism operative, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, Kevin says it is here in Ukraine that he has faced the most intense fighting of his life. . . .
For the first time in his life, Kevin was defending against invasion by a better-equipped enemy. He, not the enemy, was the one who had to worry about airstrikes. There was no master plan, no air support – and there would be no evacuation in case of disaster.
“It was like a movie,” he says. “It was insanity from the start. We started taking indirect fire driving in – small arms fire driving in. And I was in a pickup truck, just driving down the street.”
“There’s tanks, and above us there’s helicopters. And you can hear the Russian jets flying by. And out in the open fields the Russians were dropping troops off in helicopters. And so you’re like: ‘Woah, wow!’ It’s a lot.”
Kevin and his colleagues were on the receiving end of artillery fire. During battles in Afghanistan, Iraq, or Syria, these foreign soldiers were calling in the air strikes and artillery bombardments. They’d never known was it was like on the receiving end. . . .
Day after day, Kevin and his buddies concluded that they, too, had had enough. Then the next day came, bringing with it new orders and new missions, and they found themselves staying on. Eventually, he says, they wound up at the sauna and gym complex where they holed up for four days, even as the building slowly disintegrated under Russian shelling.
“We call it the house of horrors, because it was literally a nightmare in there,” he says. “This was four really miserable days of really little sleep, really heavy artillery, really heavy infantry presence from the Russians. No matter how many people that we removed from their side, they just kept coming.” . . .
Despite unloading this overflowing dumpster of truth on the unsuspecting reader, CNN still tries to put lipstick on the pig and insists that “Kevin” is glad he came to Ukraine and is staying on. Which leads me to a question–to do what?
Kevin and his team were not sitting on Ukrainian tanks charging the Russians and defeating them on the field of battle. Nope. He and his special forces buddies were hunkered down getting to experience the receiving end of aerial and artillery bombardments. Karma is a bitch.
Kevin described the dilemma of the average Ukrainian soldier–no air support, no artillery support, no rescue. But hey, those Ukie troops sure are brave. I have a news flash for Kevin–there were brave Nazi soldiers fighting Soviet troops in World War II and they lost (thank God!).
Fox News’ only story today on the Ukraine is the trial in Kiev of a lowly Russian soldier. When you big news is the prosecution of a low level subordinate, that is a sure sign your scouring the universe for something good to report that will feed the meme of Evil Russians.
Ukraine war crimes trial: Russian soldier sentenced to life in prison for killing civilian (Fox News)
What about MSNBC? Nothing. As of 8:35 pm eastern daylight time, MSNBC Daily lists 11 stories–NONE deal with the war in Ukraine. There is no chorus of praise for the latest Ukrainian victory.
Looks like Ukraine is going to slip down the memory hole of America because Americans are more worried about finding baby formula and fending off surging inflation.
in my opinion this is what ritter have in mind , he knew the media propaganda going to wane and there will be invitation for ‘contrarian voice’ in the media. and this what ritter hope to achieve , a paid invite to speak in MSM on how his opinion are correct since the beginning and he will rake in $$ from talkshows on western MSM.
That’s why he turned 180 in his shoddy analysis and his fanboy gaga over western weapon system that will turned the tide.
as if he didnt know the futility of training corrupt govt like the south vietnamese and the afghan army.
I don’t think there is a snowball’s chance in hell the MSM is going to be asking Scott to be a commentator. I don’t think Scott does either. Scott burned that bridge a long time ago.
it is funny how many sheeple taken in by Malcolm Nance antics , considering he wasnt a front line operator but intel/crypto weenie and his very bad reputation among his peers ..
on the side note , the famous (or infamous) Richard ‘demo dick’ Marcinko died at 81 , he is the father of SEAL TEAM SIX (DEVGRU) and one of the original plank owner in ST2. Maybe LJ knew him during his stint in anti terrorist task force.
i would trust old Demo Dick in combat than this no load Malcolm Nance
I did know Dick. We appeared on TV together a couple of times (once with Geraldo Rivera). Dick had some bombast (his books were fantasy tales) but he was a real warrior. A larger than life kind of guy.
yeah his books are fictional adventure romp worthy of getting adapted into movie script. his accomplishment (or some say his politicking) also bear fruit in the creation of ST6 and other covert / overt unit related to anti terrorism task force like REDCELL
pretty sure his security exercises on Navy bases net him plenty of enemies within the USN , a larger than life man indeed considering his achievements.
i hope i can look up your tv appearances with marcinko on youtube
This was pre YouTube. 2001.
Larry,
In addition the left’s oligarchs are meating in Davos, the Berchtesgarden or the WEF. They apparently have their own private police force too. That’s not making the news either. Though there are plenty of ‘monkey pox’ stories, few of them connecting the outbreak to the gay hedonistic meeting “Pride” in Belgium. (The the Gran Canaria pride festival; Don’t get yourselves labeled homophobic by pointing out the origin point of the spread)

Who still wastes time ever watching, reading or listening to the legacy corporate media? Who wastes time watching, reading or listening to proven liars?
… and if you do, why? To prove you have no discernment?
Why do you insist on being such an ass clown?
Larry does it so we don’t have to. 😉
So, soldier Kevin suffered 4 days of shelling in “hell”. Can he now understand 8 yrs (2,900 days) of shelling the civilians of Donbas suffered, and why Russia intervened?
Great observation.
for a veteran of western conflicts aka “brush wars” , they never thought to playing on the “indian/natives” side as they think themselves as the cowboys.
thats why the much touted Commandos on ATV with ATGM behind enemy lines are useless IRL. It might be great on concept but a stay behind small unit element roaming behind enemy lines with no guaranteed of supply will be located and destroyed fast ( plenty of destroyed ATV on telegram including their hide site )
even the famous SAS incursion using Land Rovers inside iraqi territory encounter hard resistance that outgunned the brits , and they only survived because the allied control the air and can call air support any time and have regular supply drop.
Well said. I doubt he is even aware. Never mentioned by our media, as it’s the wrong kind of story for our narrative. And certainly not mentioned by General Milley during his dishonorable, misleading speech at USMA (West Point) as related to Russia, Ukraine and CHina few days ago, as further example.
Mark Milley is another wonderful source to ignore if you’re looking for the truth.
By calling the MSM in the west whores, you are really giving whores a bad name. With the battle of Donbas almost over, it will be interesting to see where else the Kremlin wants to go in Ukraine since it doesn’t look like the government in Kyiv is going to negotiate anytime soon.
Will the Polish army enter Ukraine? Are they already there and where will NATO be on this. I can see with the Ukrainians, the Russians are pulling their punches against their fellow slavs, with the Polls I imagine no such quarter will be given.
imagine columns of polish troops entering ukraine proper with NATO weapons / armor and no air cover. Imagine kalibr salvoes on their barracks in lviv.. imagine the anger from polish vassals who want NATO air cover to protect them.
dont worry , polish troops will enter ukraine as the peacekeeping force on invitation from zelensky’s govt.
Fair point. With whores you get screwed and get some satisfaction. Not so with the press.
and you come home with bonus STD , whats not to like ?
Thats treatable, the mindset from the media is a bit more difficult to recover from.
The thing with whores, is you don’t pay them to come, you pay them to go when it’s over.
Actually, there has been very little in the media about the actual war for some time now. Zelensky must not be putting out as many propaganda pieces. The “analysis” seems to come mostly from the neocon Institute for the Study of War, the same people who brought you Afghanistan, and the American Enterprise Institute. who probably get their info from IFTSOW. It appears that the Russians are concentrating on Donbas now. I suspect that by the time it’s all over Russia will hold everything in the Left Bank and part of Kiev.
The comments from the idiot who went to fight for Ukraine don’t surprise me. American soldiers and Marines haven’t fought a truly armed enemy since Vietnam (and not so much then since ground troops never entered North Vietnam.) Of course, neither have Russians. Those troops are finding out what real war is like.
I want to know if he is Special Forces or Special Ops. There is a difference.
Why would the Nazi battalions provoke a Russian invasion in Feb, knowing their spectrum dominance vs Russia, especially airforce and missile capabilities favored the Russians? Did the Ukrainian command not see their fortress strategy (if I understand correctly) in the Donbass made them sitting ducks for the combined Russian artillery protected by air, missile and Electronic warfare assets?
…
I originally thought Russia wanted the Minsk agreements, but no longer think so. The US backed neo-Nazis gave Russia a pretext to invade to protect the Donbas, but Russia would not be happy with the Minsk agreement while Ukraine was a US proxy, and the US consolidated power. Eastern Ukraine is wealthy in resources and the neo-Nazi aggression gave Russia opportunity to protect ethnic Russians, gain a resource rich territory and protect Crimea with a land bridge.
…
It’s interesting that the US media has dropped Ukraine as a story, due to Russian success. Does that mean the US won’t worry about having to save face over this defeat, but will simple let the story disappear and be replaced by other distractions, Monkeypox, etc?
I wouldn’t call the impending invasion of the Donbass Republics a “pretext”. From where I sit it looks perfectly legitimate.
Zelensky the Nazis certainly listened to the West and Nato that Russia would never dare invade, and if they did the Nato enhanced AFU would make short work of them.
Russia invasion was 100% justified even by UN standards- ResponsibitynTo Protect- for reasons stated. Reference the analysis by Jaques Baud and Larry.
Skorpion9mm: I was talking about the Russian invasion from point of view of preventing this war: After Maidan, Ukraine was US proxy being run by neo-Nazis, and even if Russia could have asked for peacekeepers to stand between Donbass and rest of Ukraine, I don’t think they would have. Did Russia want to give US and neo-Nazis control of Ukraine , including Donbas as part of Minsk accords? I agree that the AFU attacks on Donbas gave Russia the legal right to defend ethnic Russians, but am arguing they wouldn’t want peace in the first place, not with US running the show.
Europe is biggest loser in this. If EU had worked out a peace agreement, allowing referendum for Donbas independence (giving them to Russia essentially), while letting western Ukraine rump state join the EU, there would not have been war, but that takes a lot of foresight. Did the US standby, while the EU and Russia made stronger economic ties, such as Nord Stream 2, and China was expanding its BRI into Europe’s ports?
,,,
Thanks for the references. I’ve talked about these issues at theAnalysis.news and Scheerpost, but am relatively new to this site, so you guys probably have moved on from the topics I’m bringing up. I’ll check out Larry’s older posts, thank-you!
The NATO plan depended 100% on collapsing the Russian economy – they blew everything they had in the first (financial) salvo. When that failed to happen (the tide went out) they were revealed to have no contingency plan (swim suit).
High school cheerleaders at football games. What a great metaphor for Americans and their Alarmed Farces. The girls loved to leap and jump and twirl, yelling “Block That Kick! — every time our team dropped back into its own end zone to punt on fourth down. Hysterical enthusiasm totally divorced from anything resembling knowledge of the situation and struggle taking place down on the ground.
Russia has staying power because they see what has been happening in Ukraine and across broader NATO truly as an existential threat. We do not, because it is primarily a conflict of choice.
The military industrial complex, the politicians they fund and the ideological Neo Cons have only got away with their never ending wars in far away places because there has been no serious blow back to the home front and very small numbers of US casualties.
We collectively in the English speaking countries make the mistake of seeing the Russians through that lens and assume that is how everyone else thinks about war but they have to take threats on their doorstep seriously. I think French and Germans in particular understand this far more, by the way, given their histories.
You are right that this will all start to unravel as other concerns matter far more to people than cheering the colours of blue and yellow. Our UK Prime Minister has been a huge (aptly for him) cheerleader for Ukraine. He even wrote an open letter to the “children of Ukraine” yesterday (you could not make this stuff up) but he is totally value free and will also do a rapid 180 when it suits him to do so. War is bad but to wage war in the casual way that we have been doing over the past few decades is a far worse sin.
Bunch of the specials going in do it to get famous as it’s then news article with them as hero and maybe some money and profile. Fair dids to them but how many are going there to seriously stay and fight.
MSM news is now MSM views.
US used to have laws in press impartiality to some degree but Bush trashed those and it’s now creating views not reporting news.
The problem is many people still think there is an objectivity requirement and a requirement to report news rather than create narrative.
MSMis not intended to inform and educate. It’s intended to get clicks and elicit emotion.
Problem is unless you are lucky and find somewhere with proper analysis it’s hard to understand what’s going on.
Hopefully Musk buying Twitter helps.
just how naive are you thinking musk buying twitter is something noble and helping america ?
or you just trolling nonsense again as usual
Try anger management. You need it.
Never said Musk was a savior, but he’s better than what’s there. And he’s South African not American so he has a different perspective.
He also said he will publish algorithms Twitter uses. If so any bias can be assessed in open source. Better than what’s there right?
you really trolling , no way someone this stupid in thinking musk is some kind of gamechanger in the mess of what we now call US of A.
Musk are known for using twitter bots to help prop his tesla share value and bully people who criticize tesla , heck even ppl who bought tesla cars and complained of one or more issue got slammed in twitter by so called musk bros.
ditto spaceX and the endless bots trying to make spacex more glorious than reality
“Musk are known for using twitter bots to help prop his tesla share value”
Can you prove this?
What exactly is your function here?
Hard to take you seriously if you use personal attacks.
Musk buying Twitter has already helped and he hasn’t even bought it yet!
If you are careful never open a Twitter account because Musk is not going as Superman to rescue the girl. Behind Musk is Davos and others even worse.
It doesn’t matter if he with Davos. His presence upsets the balance and promotes internal conflict in the enemy.
Its even more effective that way than outside interference
Russia is close, between 2023-2024, to introduce new weapons, such as medium-range strategic drones of 1,200-2,000 km that will have a great impact on modern warfare, designed to act in lethal airspace, this is what I know with data.
Per MSM: Poland to ‘enter’, not invade Western Ukraine.
I’ve noticed that regional talk radio( in North Texas) have stopped talking about the Ukraine. A lot of Ukrainians have settled in Texas, and there are active communities in Dallas and other towns and cities. But even so, they’re not being interviewed on radio and TV, anymore.
But none of this surprises me. It’s on to the next hyster
I wanted to say on to the next hysterical, fake fad cause.
It’s funny because in Spain it is the same, TV and other media are decreasing coverage of the conflict are now focused on the strength of the ruble is “due to the economic problems of Russia” as is (sic)
I am glad you watch TV so I don’t have to.
Well I had the pleasure of listening to BBC World Service this morning. They are accusing Russia of denying grain shipments out of Ukrainian sea ports. Apparently they forgot that the Ukrainians mined the sea ports months ago to prevent a Russian sea borne assault and that maritime shipping insurance companies won’t insure due to the mining of the harbors.
Apparently, Azeri media reported the other day that an approach was made to lift the sanctions on Byelorussia for grain to be transported by rail from Ukraine, through Byelorussia. I wouldnt put it passed this lot.
Monkey Pox presents greater potential for mass fear mongering so no wonder the MSM is moving on. Besides, that $40 billion “aid” package (plus more from other sources) apparently wasn’t enough for the grifting president Z – he’s asking for AT LEAST $5 billion a month more. Methinks he may have overplayed his [outstretched] hand.
The Russians have raised the Russian flag in Svitlodarsk.
This WaPo article contains something rather worrying:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/05/19/ukraine-aid-senate/
“The bill, passed on an 86-to-11 vote Thursday, provides a combined $20 billion in military aid that is expected to finance the transfer of advanced weapons systems, such as Patriot antiaircraft missiles and long-range artillery. ”
We’re sending Patriot missiles to Ukraine.
Down with some kind of cold or flu today. Been lying around perusing articles and comments sections in mainstream outlets; includes mainstream blogs like ‘Redstate’ and ‘Powerline’ on the McCainiac conservative wing and counterparts on the left. Yeah, you called it right….definitely a marked decrease in war coverage and, when there is some mention of the war, it is streaked with pessimism for UKR. Big change from even a couple of weeks ago, when UKR was clearly winning and stupid Russian Orks were walking into ambushes, running out of ammo and fuel, etc.. The comments increasing reveal a red pilled readership (the $40 billion won’t help and is probably just fodder for the graft machine, UKR + Biden asked for war and got it but good, etc. etc.). I’d say the worm has turned.
OTOH, the stalwart Col Lang and his trusty side kick, TTG, stand fast and still have absolute faith that UKR is prevailing and will continue to until the last Ork throws itself into the mobile crematorium . Watching TTG and commenters like “Leith” fellate each other 24/7 in perpetual celebration of Russia’s impending defeat is more than I can take. Had to look away again.
