It has been a busy and stressful couple of days. The problem with my SSL certificate occurred at 7:59pm on 10 August, which meant that anyone trying to read my blog was warned that I was a contagious leper. My host, Right Forge, fixed it but remarked, this is reallly weird. I believe I was hacked. The good news, I am back to normal (whatever that is). Thank you for your patience and concern. I was so moved by the messages of support and concern I received from this international community.
First up is my chat yesterday (Wednesday) with Ania K. A lovely, smart woman. We talk about Poland and the war in Ukraine.
Next up, a round table on intelligence with the Judge and Ray McGovern. Ray is such a gift. I hope I am as agile and competent when I reach 80.
I haven’t seen any problems with SSL. But this post has all kinds of problems (the Ania video is posted twice, and there’s also a map in the header of the article, the map doesn’t seem to be related to the article contents).
In these cases, I think patience is a virtue: if we just wait a bit, you’ll work it all out. đ
I encountered the problem using Safari. Safari messaged that the SONAR SSL certificate had expired and was thereby flagged as untrustworthy solely on that basis- and asked if I still wanted to connect to the site.
About a month ago they had Gail Tverberg under SSL lockdown for a while, too.

I am not super savvy techo, but a little better competent than most of my generation. I never wanted to visit TOR simply because it raises flag. But I have just done so; and as I have always suspected, even using TOR browser when I type search criteria into URL bar it defaults to the usual engines and I see either it is Duckduckgo or Google conducting search so there it is. It seems one cannot go entirely dark without first raising big flag first and creating trail.
I got TOR search but still no luck; so I tried clicking on some of the highly suspect links on right hand side looking to find Yandex or other alt search engine while doing best to avoid the obvious ugly porn etc. but still no luck.
So unless I am mistaken there is no way around their all-encompassing surveillance net.
So I suggest we all need to be preparing for the day when they completely blind us and virtually thrust us back in time to the days when all that was available was TV MSM and Radio news â the only difference being that this time round the news will be even blander and stupider than it was back in the 1960s and 70s with zero contrary/dissenting commentary. But at least back then there was some decent comedy to give us all a good laugh.
TOR is not beginner friendly stuff. It requires additional knowlege to use properly. Without it, it can only give false sense of security.
I use Tor with a Brave browser and find it very easy to access RT for instance. But no problem with Larry’s site using just Brave
What I had in mind was more serious stuff TOR is intended for (security related). Going around regional site blocking is usually done with proxies or VPNs.
Larry’s problems have been fixed, and it should work fine for everyone.
RT’s accessible on Brave without TOR. Maybe not in UK, don’t know. Poor Brits are worse off than most with the brain gargle.
Don’t forget to hide your mac address too. It’s reasonably easy to gain access, but it’s almost impossible to stay completely anonymous.

I’ll share a secret with you, Terhi – if you don’t like something – don’t watch. I hate shopping, hence I skip all of Ania’s shopping videos and watch only the discussion/guests I find interesting. Many of us in different countries are interested in hearing the opinions of regular people in Poland which is so belligerent to RF, and into the “glory to Ukraine,” – how do regular people who lost relatives in the Wolyn’s massacre, but opening the doors to Ukrainian refugees, while Ukraine never acknowledged or apologized for its actions in Wolyn. How Poles feel about refugees riding expensive cars while draining the Polish welfare, while the Polish retirees can’t afford their medication.
Same with you, if you are from Scandinavia/wherever it would be interesting to hear what you/Scandinavians think of NATO, what the regular people think about this war, etc. But you are so busy trashing someone else, it brings your own value as an objective commentator way down.

Actually, Paul Greenwood, the original States of the Union all had established state churches. Throughout the 1900s the states, one by one disestablished these churches. Having them was obviously allowed because we were created to be a federalist system of mini-sovereignties. That was destroyed over time, with the help of the 14th Amendment as the federal govt took over more areas, especially social issues. That wasn’t supposed to keep us free from religion either.
We also had the school movement, which was created state by state too. It was not created by the federal govt. If a local area decided to raise funds for a school, they were allowed to teach religion or even pray. The federal govt was not supposed to be involved in education.
Secularists, particularly the collectivist kind, love centralized power so they can remove spirituality preferring people who will believe in the state than any higher power.
I say this as a person who is not particularly religious but I do share the most of traditional cultural values of Judeo-Christianity.

Everyone is “religious.” The question is, whose law system &/or which law system are they following?

My heart aches profusely for America, whom I fell in love with at age 5 and came to live in 1976, at age 22. As a “legal” immigrant I am aghast at how our leaders are making America the laughing stock of the world.
I hardly recognize from 46 years ago. Secularism has permeated every crack and crevice of America. I cannot turn the TV without being insulted by the barrage of garbage being fed to our fellow citizens.

Since I live in a ‘Western’ country I see it logical to use something like Kaspersky. I do not know what caused the problem but one possibility is that, people with technical means could have deliberately altered the DNS entry that maps your domain name sonar21.com to an IP address which right now is 192.73.242.233, to a different IP address, one of a proxy server that would then forward requests from my browser to actual web server at the 192.73.242.233 address. This would be effectively a man-in-the-middle attack and would be used to collect log-in details for anyone with login credentials to administer website or login credentials of people that may have registered accounts. This may not be harmful in this case but people tend to use same login credentials for multiple accounts. and this way these people are exposed to being hacked.

I will donate my 2 cents regarding the SSL cert, been there, etc. These certifications (just a text file full of numbers primarily) are typically purchased from an “authority” for a fixed time and they routinely expire, people say “oops!” and renew them. They are used to perform encryption and to provide an “https” website along with a chain of trust. They are installed on a server (server wide) by running a sequence of commands as a server admin. If not done in time, the websites throw the SSL error, this is one of the most common high-impact errors for web sites (i.e. confuse clients, disrupt access and so on). If Larry is responsible to maintain his own server, this was his oversight. If not, it was his web site provider’s oversight. Have a nice day!

Abstract: Even months after the demolition of the Nordstream Pipelines it is a widely held opinion that the pipelines were destroyed with a moderate explosive of a few hundred kilograms TNT corresponding to a seismic event of (Richter-) Magnitude 2.3 and that the destruction of the pipeline was the only goal of that act. An overview over publicly available seismic data all over Northern Europe shows that this could not be farther from
the truth: Seismic traces were detected as far as the North Cape (1800km) and Greenland, thus characterizing the Nordstream explosion as a teleseismic event. An analysis of the waveforms detected at seismic stations around the Baltic and Bothnian Sea characterizes this event to have (âbody-waveâ) magnitude mb = 3:9 0:15, corresponding to a detonation energy of 200 tons TNT-equivalent or more rather than the 500kg claimed in the
press. The actual explosive power involved in the detonation is thus at least by a factor of 400 larger than what has been claimed in the press. The resulting waveforms reveal little resemblance with conventional underwater explosions, but they share characteristics with known underground nuclear explosions. The explosive was positioned along the pipeline at a deliberately chosen location such that the generated shock wave was channeled
and amplified by a natural oceanic canyon of approx. 20km width which runs from the detonation site towards Kaliningrad (RF). Indeed, in neighbouring Polish SuwaĆki seismic amplitudes were registered that were 1000-fold of what is expected from a magnitude 3.9 event at that distance from the epicentre. Infrared satellite images of aerosols taken a few hours after the explosion show a cloud extending over more than a hundred kilometers into
the Swedish mainland in wind direction while the adjacent coastal town of Karlskrona exhibited brief spell of mild rainfall in the following hours. Hydrodynamic satellite data show the emergence of a strong underwater current near the ocean floor (at 60m depth) away from the explosion site accompanied by significant backflow in the following
hours. The topography of the ocean floor exhibits a natural, elliptically shaped depression of about 50km size and the explosive was placed close to the focal point. Such an arrangement is well known to be responsible for strong focussing effects of shockwaves towards the underwater channel directed towards Kaliningrad. This explains the extraordinary seismic amplitudes detected along that direction as registered in SuwaĆki. These facts point towards a controlled and carefully prepared attack not only on Nordstream but also on the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad.
