I want to get this up without a lot of commentary. The most important news is that Gonzalo Lira was released on bail on July 6 and is now working to secure his freedom. He announces in his videos below that he will try to enter Hungary and seek asylum. Pray for his safety and success.
I was going to post a video about Russia’s construction of the lines of defense last year in order to make the point that Ukraine, thanks to Western intelligence, had complete imagery intel of that massive construction effort. Here is the critical point — at no time during that construction did Ukraine attempt to bomb or destroy the construction equipment. Nada. That tells you that Ukraine’s ability to carry out air strikes with fixed wing aircraft is non-existent. They also did not have an adequate supply of missiles or long range artillery to hit those targets. Further evidence in my view that Ukraine’s military potency is exhausted and incapable of assembling enough offensive power to break through the Russian defensive lines.

As Gonzalo Lira is finally out from 9 weeks of SBU Prison, the commentators on this blog are mostly concerned about the impact smoking may have on his health.
Some even clamor losing the frontline war reporting if Gonzalo gets a less dangerous job.
It seems to me that these posts are from people, who has never faced any threats to their lives. Instead they believe that smoking is the most lethal injury that can happen to any Human.
At the same time they seems to dread losing the entertainment of death and human suffering, if Gonzalo flees to safety.
Let me remind you that all Main-Stream-journalists are reporting from Lviv +1200Km (750miles) from the warzone, whereas Gonzalo Lira has been reporting directly from Kharkov in Eastern Ukraine.

1. He will be safe only in Russia. Why is he not going there? Even if Orban gives him asylum he would be one colour revolution away from being sent right back.
2. He should have posted this after getting out, not before. Instead he’s telling them where he is and what he is up to. Can’t be many men on motorcycles trying to get to Hungary. He might as well have given them his number plate as well.

IF it were all as film presented and SBU wanted to show the world how humanely they had arrested Lira then why did they never respond to all the inquires as to Lira’s situation and treatment and why did not any embassy either American or Chilean respond to calls for them to intervene?
Had SBU taken such pains to show the world on YouTube how decently they arrested Lira why would they not have bothered to keep the world informed as to how decently they were dealing with him; and why would they not have quickly conducted show trial in public view and then sentenced him for treason or whatever else. There was nothing that Lira was doing that necessitated him staying in Kharkov.

The only reason for Lira to post what he did, when he did, was for there to be a public record of what his treatment was during his captivity, in the event he did not make it across the border.
Due to no further posts, I presume Lira did not make it across the border unless, he currently is in the custody of Hungary for political asylum, then they would have likely advised him to not post for a while or have not permitted him to post.

I just wrote similar comment. All of the armchair-generals-turned-investigators here are having great-original-ideas that he already considered and mentioned in the video. Some can’t even see that it’s daytime on the videos, and that they are published at night. He could have walked to the border in that time.

I wonder about Gonzalo Lira from time to time. He does come from an upper class background. Certainly there is some family connections and money available to bail/bribe him out . He states that the Chilean Embassy helped him, while the US only did pro-forma inquiries.
He looks in good shape and spirit after torture, however that torture may have been controlled, as he says, and be long enough ago to allow healing. His delivery shows appropriate emotions and reflection, seems to indicate truth to me.
Keeping a low profile until he decided on a course of action, after exploring all options he could think of available, is rational. Where can he go? The EU is out. The US,? even more ridiculous and dangerous than 404, even if he could swim the Atlantic.
The possibility that he is too connected and well known that the ukronazi would rather he leaves, but won’t expel him, as that would look weak. Maybe the ukronazis have been getting contradictory signals from thier masters and they recognize that he just a small fish, a blogger, with limited audience. Make the wrong choice could backfire. Incredible comments from some people watching news from the couch. All kinds of “warriors” from behind a mouse giving advices. Probably Mr Lira planned his departure from Ukraine wisely. His only fault was thinking there is still sanity in Ukraine. All I see from the ukrainians living in my country is the desire to kill all russians, even the kids and eldery people; if someone questions the events happening in Ukraine they are ready to supress that someone by any means. Sadly the propaganda was so powerful that many citizens of the country are supporting these views, even at the price of national interests. Everything Zelenski regime does is excused. They can steal money, they can ban the press, they can kill all the russians and other minorities living in Ukraine and western citizens will say “well is war with russia, is allowed”. I will just comment here that I don`t know Mr Lira and certainly don`t agree with him about everything he says or does. However, I don`t believe he is a Russian spy and working for Russia. He is an intellectual person who is trying to paddle his own path through this situation. I think he is a hero revealing the facts behind Nuland, the Bessarabia project and the starting point of Palestine&Israel problems (I actually went further like this, not him).

Whether anyone is a fan of Gonzalo Lira or not, NOBODY can deny the sheer quality of the participants and content in his Roundtable series. These were at or near the top of all AltNews discussions and presentations about Ukraine and head and shoulders above anything shown on MSM. Compare the power needed for a radio wave vs a microwave.

Yes…5G is weaker than 4G, which is weaker than 3G, which is weaker than analog signals, in regards to penetration of dense materials. The drawback to 5G is it will not penetrate walls, trees, leaves, etc as well as the 4G and lower frequencies. This inability to penetrate brick walls, and yes in some cases even leaves, is why some carriers are/were considering erecting hundredes of micro-cell sites in neighborhoods and towns and cities to provide uninterupted service as users rounded a corner, and to ensure every house was swamped in 5G.

Perhaps 5G is cheaper per packet and packet content in some cases, however, costs increase due to additonal outside micro-towers and fibers, as well as the additonal cost of 5G hubs in buildings to continue the signal, with its power costs.
5G is ‘line of sight’ whereas 4G down to analogue are not necessarily ‘line of sight’. 5G is for Streets but not Avenues, Avenues have trees and trees generally block 5G. 5G is for highways/interstates and for rooftop highrises, where the signal can be transported or repeated downward to multiple hubs. All which have a cost for power and equipment and in some cases, a building entrance right of way which cost money.
Marketing tells the end user 5G is stronger…those of us in the business know the weakness of 5G, a weakness the average users never sees or knows about. Consumers of data are just that, consumers and they think 5G is stronger but they have no idea what it took to get past all the ‘weaknesses’ of 5G to get that signal to their phone or device.
Another way to look at it. I’m sure we all have dual ban routers. Ya know 2.5/5GHz.
Go to the router and do a speed test on both bands if you can separate them. Most routers will let you do that since most home gadgets use 2.5Ghz.
You’ll notice 5G hammers 2.5 for speed. So walk away 100 feet. Do the speed test again. You’ll see that 2.5G starts closing the gap. Keep walking away and you’ll find 5G isn’t available while 2.5G is. Remember the router uses the same power no matter which band you’re using.
To add – of course Lira is under a lot of pressure – he just came out of prison and he has been in a kind of hiding for over a year. That creates a lot of confusion as well as quite a bit of insight I guess – certainly he was always a creative or contrarian thinker.
Hungary is probably the smartest choice. Crossing the border to Russia sounds horrendous – for most of it you have to cross an active battle front. For the rest border patrols on both sides are looking for provateurs, it sounds high risk.
Border patrols in Hungary however are looking out for Hungarian speakers trying to avoid conscription – they are quite active in searching for them. They sound like the people I would want to bump into if I get into difficulty.

I listened closely to Gonzalo Lira’s post-release videos. This pretty much confirms my long-running suspicion that he is a CIA operative/asset. It doesn’t take a Columbo to realize his story’s not adding up. And a pro- tip to Gonzalo: adding layer upon layer of extraneous details doesn’t make your story more believable. It’s usually the behavior of what detectives call “the prime suspect” in a case.

For certain Lira is a lighening rod for many who follow the SMO. I stopped following Lira because I found my posts were hidden. I suppose he did not care for myself and a few others when we reminded him during a round table that he was out of his league, with regards to his guests, and he would do well to be quiet and simply listen. On his solo broadcasts, Lira could make some interesting points and often had accurate views about a situation.
A prevous post here indicated many “flags” concering Lira and his two arrests and releases, with the last release having his passports and personal items returned. I have found the entire situation around those two occassions to be suspecious. His latest posts show him to be healthy, fit and, to appear to have gained weight. Even his head is unshaven, an oddity I would think for someone who was incarcerated. I would think that most astute U.S. analyst, former and otherwise, would have noticed many of the “flags” that have been noticed by the less astute followers of Lira.
I found it interesting that someone mentioned that Lira may be working with SBU to ensnare pro-Russian pundits. Today, I see where it is written on a pro-Russian site, an article that Ukraine has an emergency plan in place should Zelensky suffer an unfortunate accident.
A free Lira, could really work up a good defense for the remaining people in power, by going after Zelensky and pro-Russian factions. Make everyone look guilty….except those remaining in power.

The first thing that stands out is how many commentators there are. Has there ever been a conflict that received so much attention from so many commentators? Granted it’s a serious conflict, but how does talking about it endlessly on the internet do anything to change the outcome? Seems to me most of it is just preaching to the choir. The average person knows next to nothing about what’s going on in Ukraine – they have their own pressing concerns or are just too stupid to notice or care. That at least has been my experience from attempting to broach the subject, even with people who ought to take an interest, or at least be willing to listen. I’d draw a parallel to the virus/vaccine issue, because that same lack of curiosity is evident, and arguably in the climate debate and “LGBQ” “transgender” debate as well.
As for any expertise I may have on judging the veracity of Lira’s claims, I can only refer to my experience dealing with political refugees from Latin America in the 70’s. My ex-wife of 5 years was a human rights worker with an organization that helped those refugees obtain residency in Canada. I did some volunteer work myself, and met several people who’d been imprisoned in Pinochet’s Chile, and in El Salvador during that conflict. Those people were absolutely broken and did not want to talk about their experience at all. Of course they had to to build their case, and we had a young doctor on staff whose job it was to determine from applicants physical wounds whether they were self-inflicted (yes people will do that) or the result of genuine torture. Graham and Lipp are both facing, or have faced, prosecution in their own countries for simply doing their job as journalists. How much heat has Lira drawn in comparison, and why did he stick around if it was that heavy? By his own admission he had sufficient funds to get the hell out and live comfortably for some time, at least til a new gig comes along. Is he just trying to build his brand in consideration of a future book he admits he’s considered writing (along with the film rights perhaps?). Anything’s possible here, but again, in the big picture, does any of this matter insofar as the final outcome? That die was cast a long time ago and it’s plain as day what it will be.

Strangely, he makes videos highly critical of the (not so liberal) government of a country at war and, at the same time, in which he is a guest.

I suggest you listen to the Scott Ritter interview with Judge Napolitano today. He is of course kinder and more diplomatic than me, but I am sure his nose is itching also, and not just becasue Maverick’s hair is floating around the room. LOL.

Last time Scott Ritter’s nose was itching, he got arrested for trying to sniff undercover police officer posing as a 16-year-old girl, or was it 15.
When Gonzalo dissapeared last year, Scott Ritter was first to announce that he is dead, or maybe second if that trans-Nazi-chick-dude-thing beat him to the punch. I guess both of them/they are back in action.

Gonzalo Lira…An interesting Fellow..Why he would choose to stay in Ukraine and aggravate the most violent corrupt government in Europe after this war started, is a mystery..Which I communicated to him many times in many comments, and I even predicted how this would all end many times(dead or a jail cell)..Maybe he thought his American/Chillean citizenship would act as a shield, and he would write that book when it was all over..I doubt very much that he is working with the CIA/SBU he lived a quite life in Ukraine before the war even started..He, like many of us, are truth hounds, and he spoke truth to power right in their lying faces, which will win you friends quickly in the dissident community..I like the guy, he’s an amateur intellectual who either gambled wrong, or is fatalistic..I sincerely hope my predictions, atleast for the long term, are wrong, and we do see him on the Durant or George Galloway, or some other podcast next week..But, I suspect that won’t be the case…But I hope he out lives this war and horrific regime and he has the last lauph..And writes that book..
With a wife, who is Ukrainian, he had limited choice in the matter. The wife wanted to be close to her parents. Stop over thinking this.
