Joe Biden and is team of national security hacks continue to double down in public on supporting Ukraine’s fight with Russia, but the Washington leak machine is up and running and the usual suspects in mainstream media outlets — New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal — are putting out more articles describing the failings and shortcomings of the Afghan officials — oops, I mean the Ukrainians. The United States has an established, long track record of dumping troublesome allies when success is no longer on the horizon.
The Biden Administration and NATO have gone all in on the bet that the Russian political structure is fragile and will crumble with sustained pressure. Boy, has that turned out to be a terrible wager. Andrey Sushentsov, writing for RT, has some valuable insights on this Western fantasy:
The ongoing Western narrative that Russia is constantly on the verge of imminent collapse stems from the persistent perception that the state is vulnerable to internal combustion because of its perceived fragility, vast territory and critical imbalances.

Moscow’s current strategic foreign-policy objectives have remained unchanged since they were formulated in November-December 2021. While Ukraine’s military is struggling to keep its head above water, Russia appears to be growing stronger with each passing month and the United States is flailing about trying to come up with a policy option that does not put NATO in jeopardy. How is NATO at risk? When Russia defeats Ukraine this will also represent the defeat of NATO. Instead of growing more united, NATO is beginning to fragment as the domestic problems in the NATO countries — especially in Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Poland — create obstacles to providing further military aid to Kiev. Without the unhindered flow of money and weapons Ukraine cannot remain on the battlefield.
Frankly, with Syria, Iran, Niger, Mali, China Vs. Taiwan, Brazil, Venezuela, India, Pakistan, Turkey, France, Britain and the US all very interested in the outcome, I hope the wheels don’t come off. They could go seriously “boom” and don’t think that is in the interest of the human species at this juncture of history. But everyone has this bring it on attitude, even Musk and Zuckerberg. I wonder what the odds are in Vegas.

All Ukrainians knew what goes on in the Donbass. Everyone knew the 8 years long murdering of the Russian people. It took to Russi-an government 8 years to respond to it. One who supports and par-ticipates in the extermination of Russians that the Ukraine gover-ment is undertaking, has made a moral choice on the basis of hatred or fear of being shot for not wanting to murder Russians. People need time to make up their minds. The manner of this war gives them exactly that.
Russians know that to overwhelm an army in a week would create for them untold problems in the future. People do not change their minds because they were overwhelmed in the war. I say it was a conscious decision to create what people term as a meat grinder. The Ukrainians, that are getting killed are either nazis, or amoral cowards, who would rather murder in order to survive.
As I recall, those pesky Rooskies had the goals of demilitarising and de-Nazification of Ukraine. After an initial rapid advance to secure the Sea of Azov coastline and securing the nuclear power plant, it seems to be slow and steady liberation of Donets and Luhansk oblasts.
The defence of Bahkmut resulted in loss of the rubble pile that was once a city and a colossal loss of men and equipment. The much publicised spring-summer counteroffensive gave the Russians time to prepare defences. For two months we’ve seen a series of failed attacks that barely reach the first prepared positions and more de-militarisation of Ukraine.
It seems for 2023, so far, the Russian strategy is “give ’em enough rope”. The PR driven strategy and tactics of the Ukrainian military couldn’t be better suited to achieve the Russian political objectives.
Let me amend this to the reality. The goals of demilitarising and de-Nazification of Ukraine and NATO, including the USSA.
This is important thing, that some still don’t understand. Russians knew that military intervention would turn into a conflict with the “Western World”, and were not ready for it in 2014. This was long time coming, and there was no way that it could end fast.
Alas, i suspect the vast majority dying are regular folk who didn’t want to fight anyway, and would have been perfectly happy with the Minsk Accords and the huge benefits of neutrality. It is a tragedy to see them fed into this monstrous grinder.

I doubt that’s true. Most of the guys on the front never even see the enemy, much less get a chance to kill him. Long before they can fire a shot they get hammered with artillery and are killed or wounded. Meanwhile, the courageous Nazis are at their backs, waiting to shoot anyone who refuses to fight, an old Soviet tactic. I’ll bet the Nazi to ordinary Ukrainian ratio is lower at the front than in the rear, and as a percentage of the total population probably less than 20%.
Ukraine is yet another example of how a minority of violent ideologues can take over a country with outside support against the will of the majority who have no real ability to oppose them. Afghanistan would be an appropriate comparison. Most Afghans don’t want the Taliban, but what can they do? That’s been imposed on them just like Banderism has been imposed on ordinary Ukrainians. Sure, some are complicit in the crime, but not all, not by a long shot.
Look at the number of Ukrainians who’ve left the country. It’s in the millions at this point, and they’re not all women and children. Given the state of affairs post Maidan, it would be the logical thing to do for any young man who could see what was coming and could afford to leave. Many could not as they had families to support and thought they were exempt from conscription because they had children (no longer true).
Also, consider that a young guy of say 18 (they’re now taking 16 year olds) was only 9 when this shit began. That’s 9 solid years of indoctrination through their public education system, which is basically a pack of lies about their history and position in the world. How many 9-18 year olds can resist that kind of pressure, especially if they’re getting it at home as well?
This war is tragic on so many levels it makes my heart bleed. I’m probably the most pro-Russian person you’ll ever met that’s not actually Russian (I’m a UK born Canadian) but I can see plainly what is going on because it’s happening in my own native and adopted lands. Same as in the USA. How much of what your own government does is the “will of the people” vs. the twisted agenda of a pathological ruling elite, and what chance do you have to oppose them?
Both Russia AND Ukraine had this situation forced on them. We should not forget that. The Ukrainians responsible for this war are a small disproportionately powerful minority who couldn’t have done it without plenty of help from our own western governments, which our own citizens did nothing to oppose, or in many cases cheered them on even though most of them couldn’t find Ukraine on a map.

Few months ago, Christforou got some strikes for some old nonsense. They all have to censor themselves heavily in order to survive. Iearlgrey got completly deleted, twice.
