My first and only contact with Rolf Mowatt-Larssen, who served as the CIA’s Chief of Station circa 2000, was at a conference hosted by my former CIA classmate, Valerie Plame, five years ago. Rolf is a very pleasant, soft-spoken man, but is blinded by an old Cold War view of the world and cannot see Russia straight.
In Rolf’s world, Putin is bad. Very, very bad. And the United States? Clean as the driven snow on the Artic Tundra. He perpetuates the myth that Putin is weak and in trouble. Rolf also makes the ridiculous claim that the U.S. deployment of cluster bombs is a reaction to Russia’s use of increasingly lethal weapons. He is not a stupid person. Yet he ignores the fact that the United States and its NATO partners are the one deploying more sophisticated, lethal weapons. Who sent the HIMARS? Who sent the M777s? Who sent the Storm Shadow?
I was shocked by Rolf’s cavalier dismissal of the West coming up short in its ability to supply 155 mm shells and effective air defense systems. The much ballyhooed Patriot system has been a complete bust. But that does not faze Rolf. He just rambles on about the West needing to show resolve and commitment. In fact he asserts that it is very possible that Russia will be defeated by Ukraine. We got to find out what mind altering substances he has been ingesting. That is the only explanation I can come up with to explain the nonsense spilling from his lips.
A cautionary warning — please do not have any hard object at hand, like a baseball or a rock, as you watch this video because you will be tempted to hurl it at your screen in outrage over his so-called “analysis.”
I posted this in its entirety in order for you to appreciate that I am not taking any of his comments out of context. Officers like Rolf explain why the CIA is acquiring a reputation for being inept.
Inept, by the standards of ‘normals,’yes. Although other words can and have been used, incompetant, insane, incontinent, to use 3 on the in-words. Many more to choose from. Have fun with your own!
But, what if they are being purposeful, deliberate, stolid apparatchiks advancing the regime’s goals? Is it worth considering? What else is behind the curtain?
Interesting timez…
That is what is behind the curtain:
“But I was wrong again. Instead, a friend of mine was right. He was at that time a
member of the Central Intelligence Agency, which at that time included some
Americans. And he happened to be in Wheeling, West Virginia, on the 9th of
February, 1950, when Senator McCarthy made his famous speech in which he
stated that there were 57 members of the Communist Party or of the Soviet
espionage apparatus in the State Department in positions of responsibility and that
the State Department knew that they were there. After the speech, my friend found
an opportunity to talk to McCarthy alone. He told him, “Senator, you said there
were 57 known Communists in the State Department. If you had access to the files
of my agency, you would know that there is absolute proof that there are ten times
that many. But Senator, you do not realize the magnitude and the power of the
conspiracy you are attacking. They will destroy you ~ they will destroy you
utterly.”
But Senator McCarthy merely shook his head and said, “No, the American people
will never let me down.” He was wrong too, you see.”…

So, these 10x communists apparently morphed into 10x neocons, in unison with the founders of the neocons morphing from trotskyists to neocons themselves.
Well, at least there’s consistency as an attribute, if nothing else.
Yeah, well, there is no distingtion – as it is the same termite species eating away at the structure – which is what they do wherever they appear…
Where do you get out of that comment that embedded communists “morphed” into neocons?
So called “neocons” are neither neo nor conservative.
They are the same people as the trotyskyites, just changing their outer skin to confuse their prey.
It is 2023, not 1968, or 1950.
Stop the presses.
Had to revert to RT directly via an uncompromised browser, since Larry’s link via a VPN to Rumble had a 50% buffered binge of hiccups.
Well, one can one say about Rolf? Articulate and handles himself well with Ashfin but more a dreamer and whitewasher than a realist, apparently reared on the old Superman meme of ‘truth, justice and the American way’. I was almost tempted to stand and salute his alternate universe, if I didn’t know better.
On simple example: ‘We supply weapons for Ukraine to defend itself but it’s they who decide how to fight this war, we don’t control them.”
I only wish that Ashfin had broached a compare and contrast session with America’s dreamlike prognostications on the Balkans with its behavior in Ukraine, to see how Rolf responded. After all, Washington paid due lip service to its stand for the territorial integrity of Yugoslavia and later, Serbia but then did everything in its power to facilitate their dissolution via violent means. Wasn’t Ukraine’s military response to the Donbass starting in 2014 even in excess of Serbia’s initial response in Kosovo? I challenge anyone to show me otherwise.
So, when Biden supplies cluster munitions as his latest move, then when Ukraine uses them as they have with munitions in the past on strictly civilian areas in the Donbass, as in the center of Donetsk, or Belgorod and elsewhere – then Rolf would maintain they are without liability.
It’s going to be an uphill battle in America to bring a taste of reality to the Rolf serial apologists and dreamers embedded in its bosom.
Larry, this isn’t an interview, it’s a horror movie with as much taste as ‘Cannibal Holocaust’.
Cluster munitions will save lives! Russia will eventually lose this war, implying that the 10 years to do so in Afghanistan is an acceptable time period. America wasn’t involved in Maidan. Profiteering off war is a sub plot, not the main event. And so the bullshit flies…
The difference between him and other arses is that he seems to believe what he’s saying (which is scarier).
Incredible that this is on RT. Will CNN be hosting Scott Ritter and Col MacGregor?
Hahaha! Nah, look for the historic of this RT show. I like the guy, he’s a professional, which is a great compliment to any nowadays journo, but if you see enough of his earlier shows, you will get that he is not a Putin lover, not even a SMO supporter, but he does his job as the pro he is, and RT respect it because that’s it’s style.
Surprised by this particular interview? Look for the one he made to the leader of the so-called “Mozart group”. It’s as pathetic as this one, if not more. In fact, that infamous interview sealed the destiny of that guy and his musicians. They disappeared of the public radar in about a week.
Wasn’t the Mozart Group behind that mission to capture Maduro and ship him back to the US in a potato sack?
Rolf’s last remark to Rashfin: “You set me up but I still enjoyed the conversation.”
Rolf’s fundamental disconnect is his belief that Russia’s been intent on re-incorporating Ukraine into Russia all along.
Couldn’t be further from the truth. Russia’s prior ‘meddling’ in Ukraine was a direct response to America’s ‘meddling’ in Ukraine (or visa versa I’m sure Rolf would argue), going back at least to Yushchenko and his declaration that he would end Russia’s lease on Sevastopol in 2017.
Rolf may argue that Ukraine’s wish to join NATO and hand Sevastopol over to NATO, thereby turning the Black Sea into a NATO lake, would have been a right reserved only to Ukraine’s population itself, but Russia certainly knew better.
My simple take on it all: There WILL ultimately be a new European security architecture forged from this fiasco, or we’ll all one day soon go up in radioactive fireballs.
Read it and weep, Rolf.
Rolfie boy is a moron. This is why he has such a high level job. Clearly he has no grasp of Russian history except what is officially fed to him which brings him back to no grasp. His reach is far, far greater than his grasp. But that does not stop him from blabbing his uninformed opinions. However that does not seem to be an obstruction to employment in diplomatic high office, indeed at this point it is probably a requirement. So what does he have going for him? He is fairly well spoken in the manner that most pseudo intellectuals are, obviously well practiced in catching fly balls, has a good memory for reciting the party line, and probably very well connected like all the other DC morons.
Highly unimpressive. Even the violent skank Nuland knows how to keep fabrications and alibis to a minimum and change the subject quickly before the listeners catch on.
B+ for command of language, D- for analysis and content.
Look up Victoria Nuland in Maidan Square with a big bag full of snacks for the crowds, and goading them on instead of calming them down as is required by diplomacy for which she is not only unqualified but a virulent danger.
Then look up the famously recorded phone call between her and Pyatt when in both of them are deciding who should rule Kiev and Ukraine.
The Maidan disaster was American as apple pie in its planning and management, right down to the snipers on roofs and on the ground, aiming indiscriminately into the crowds wounding and killing so as to enrage them further, so they did not know where to vent their anger and revenge.
Very clever of our ruling serial killers, wouldn’t you agree?
Victoria “Fuck the EU” Nuland is our Neocon savior:
https://jamesburrillangell.substack.com/p/strange-diplomacy-victoria-fck-the
Is he still in service? Then his salary depends on peddling the propaganda lines handed to him.
Rolf may argue that who one might call an American puppet, he would call one who shares America’s ‘values’. I can’t argue with that. I could argue however with what ‘values’ he speaks of, because they seem to be an awfully slippery critter to grab hold of.
He’s said: “regime changes and overt interventions are prohibited by our laws.”
Let’s start there.
Then, we can proceed to the issue of Mr. Tyahnybok, Mr. Parubiy, Mr. Turchinov, Mr. Biletsky and a whole host of others of a shared national vision. And what is that ideological bent, you ask? Divide 16 by two and repeat, I believe is the math. Is that who we share values with these days? Mr. McCain and Mr. Murphy thought so. If true, then best I book the next flight out, thank you.
Why even Ms. Nuland’s chosen one, Mr. Yatsenyuk has publicly condemned America’s choice as the end of Ukraine, from his safe perch abroad of course.
What say you, Rolf?
The link only leads to a picture. I was wondering if you could check the link and post to Rolf Larssen’s video. I was able to find a video of his on Government Matters on Youtube from a year ago. The subject matter is stale, but the tone of this interview is silly as well: Putin miscalculated with invasion, failure of Russian intelligence, and weak army being repelled by UAF etc. BTW. great interviews with Ania, Judge Napo, Gardner, etc.
I haven’t watched the video yet, but wanted to post this before I forgot. Earlier today, I read an article on RT.com, that article was unrelated to the Ukraine war. But, I thought they sometimes have interesting articles and kept forgetting to see what they might have…
“US cluster bombs already in Ukraine – military”
https://www.rt.com/russia/579647-cluster-munitions-ukraine-cnn/
These people are beyond sick, arrogant, and psychopathic.
we have obviously current footage of ukraine using cluster munitions against russian troops (and missing) on “a skeptic”`s substack:
https://askeptic.substack.com/p/russia-ukraine-reports-2023-07-15
Difficult target. They only hit the easy ones like, say, a city street in Donetzk full of women and children. Killing civilians is what these munitions were supplied for.
Killing civilians since 2014 and justifying it by labeling them all as terrorists is what the banderite regime lives for.
No mention of hard proof that the USA has been trying to destroy Russia for decades.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6k2L-t1LZg
Never mind a new link, I found it when directed to this site after posting.
The first part of his “analysis” might be close – “anal” seems to be there, as in he’s full of it. If you gave this guy a laxative, he’d disappear.
I’m guessing that after Russia wins, we’ll hear from people like him that the US actually won. Clueless Joe is already hinting at that saying Russia has been weakened. And lots want to believe it. As Joe Granville said decades ago, “public stupidity is incredible in its dimension.” A corollary to that is “experts make a stupid public look smart.”
“experts make a stupid public look smart.”
This is a keeper…
Full credit and skilfull follow up questions by the RT interviewer. This guy is really sharp and has an analytical mind. Rolf Larssen is one step above Psaki. The only thing he didn’t claim and thereby insulting everyone’s intelligence, is claiming the CIA never has engaged in coup d’etats. But his analysis is contradictory. On the one hand he claims Ukraine is not an existential threat to Russia but on the otherhand, he claims Russia will use nuclear weapons if they lose. A NATO armed Ukrain with missiles and bases in Ukraine is an existential threat and Russia won’t need to use nukes to win and they don’t want to bring in NATO. And I guess he has never heard of Kyivan Rus. How could he claim Russia has no nexus to Ukraine and have been a station chief there? Rolf’s ignorance of Russian history and his denial of Nuland and the coup to overthrow Yanukovich is astounding.
He is a liar following the party line, just another politician, CIA/FBI/Pentagon/Uni-Party etc. are all the same.
his denial of Nuland and the coup to overthrow Yanukovich is astounding.
Not astounding at all. It’s simply another invocation of the famous ‘plausible deniability’ card, in that there existed a genuine dissent to the status quo at Maidan, based on entry to the EU. That supplied the appropriate body of legitimate protest. Of course, that dissent was in great part stage managed by western and domestic hands to occur at the proper time and place but the kicker was the fascist banderite brigades that did the actual dirty work. Interesting how we so readily accepted their handiwork. I believe that’s what’s called ‘a tell’ of your true intentions.
See how the CIA-MI6 stage-managed demonstrations in 1953 Iran evolved if you want a playbook for Maidan. I believe it fits closer than they’d have you believe.
What say you, Rolf?
I can name a dozen CIA regime change operations the past two decades. Libya for example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6k2L-t1LZg
And going back a bit further:
1953
Iran – CIA overthrows the democratically elected Mohammed Mossadegh in a military coup, after he threatened to nationalize British oil.
1954
Guatemala — CIA overthrows the democratically elected Jacob Arbenz in a military coup. Arbenz has threatened to nationalize the Rockefeller-owned United Fruit Company, in which CIA Director Allen Dulles also owns stock. Arbenz is replaced with a series of right-wing dictators whose bloodthirsty policies will kill over 100,000 Guatemalans in the next 40 years.
1954-1958
North Vietnam — CIA officer Edward Lansdale spends four years trying to overthrow the communist government of North Vietnam, using all the usual dirty tricks. The CIA also attempts to legitimize a tyrannical puppet regime in South Vietnam, headed by Ngo Dinh Diem. These efforts fail to win the hearts and minds of the South Vietnamese because the Diem government is opposed to true democracy, land reform and poverty reduction measures. The CIA’s continuing failure results in escalating American intervention, culminating in the Vietnam War.
1956
Hungary — Radio Free Europe (a CIA front) incites Hungary to revolt by broadcasting Khruschev’s Secret Speech, in which he denounced Stalin. It also hints that American aid will help the Hungarians fight. This aid fails to materialize as Hungarians launch a doomed armed revolt, which only invites a major Soviet invasion. The conflict kills tens of thousands of Soviets and Hungarians.
1957-1973
Laos — The CIA carries out approximately one coup per year trying to nullify Laos’ democratic elections. The problem is the Pathet Lao, a leftist group with enough popular support to be a member of any coalition government. In the late 50s, the CIA even creates an “Armee Clandestine” of Asian mercenaries to attack the Pathet Lao. After the CIA’s army suffers numerous defeats, the U.S. starts bombing, dropping more bombs on Laos than all the U.S. bombs dropped in World War II. A quarter of all Laotians will eventually become refugees, many living in caves.
1959
Haiti — The U.S. military helps “Papa Doc” Duvalier become dictator of Haiti. He creates his own private police force, the “Tonton Macoutes,” who terrorize the population with machetes. They will kill over 100,000 during the Duvalier family reign. The U.S. does not protest their dismal human rights record.
1961
The Bay of Pigs — The CIA sends 1,500 Cuban exiles to invade Castro’s Cuba. But “Operation Mongoose” fails, due to poor planning, security and backing. The planners had imagined that the invasion will spark a popular uprising against Castro -– which never happens. A promised American air strike also never occurs. This is the CIA’s first public setback, causing President Kennedy to fire CIA Director Allen Dulles.
Dominican Republic — The CIA assassinates Rafael Trujillo, a murderous dictator Washington has supported since 1930. Trujillo’s business interests have grown so large (about 60 percent of the economy) that they have begun competing with American business interests.
Ecuador — The CIA-backed military forces the democratically elected President Jose Velasco to resign. Vice President Carlos Arosemana replaces him; the CIA fills the now vacant vice presidency with its own man.
Congo (Zaire) — The CIA assassinates the democratically elected Patrice Lumumba.
1963
Dominican Republic — The CIA overthrows the democratically elected Juan Bosch in a military coup. The CIA installs a repressive, right-wing junta.
Ecuador — A CIA-backed military coup overthrows President Arosemana, whose independent (not socialist) policies have become unacceptable to Washington. A military junta assumes command, cancels the 1964 elections, and begins abusing human rights.
1964
Brazil — A CIA-backed military coup overthrows the democratically elected government of Joao Goulart. The junta that replaces it will, in the next two decades, become one of the most bloodthirsty in history. Later it is revealed that the CIA trains the death squads.
1965
Indonesia — The CIA overthrows the democratically elected Sukarno with a military coup. The CIA has been trying to eliminate Sukarno since 1957, using everything from attempted assassination to sexual intrigue, for nothing more than his declaring neutrality in the Cold War. His successor, General Suharto, will massacre between 500,000 to 1 million civilians accused of being “communist.” The CIA supplies the names of countless suspects.
Dominican Republic — A popular rebellion breaks out, promising to reinstall Juan Bosch as the country’s elected leader. The revolution is crushed when U.S. Marines land to uphold the military regime by force. The CIA directs everything behind the scenes.
Greece — With the CIA’s backing, the king removes George Papandreous as prime minister. Papandreous has failed to vigorously support U.S. interests in Greece.
Congo (Zaire) — A CIA-backed military coup installs Mobutu Sese Seko as dictator. The hated and repressive Mobutu exploits his desperately poor country for billions.
1967
Greece — A CIA-backed military coup overthrows the government two days before the elections. The favorite to win was George Papandreous, the liberal candidate. During the next six years, the “reign of the colonels” — backed by the CIA — will usher in the widespread use of torture and murder against political opponents. When a Greek ambassador objects to President Johnson about U.S. plans for Cyprus, Johnson tells him: “F*** your parliament and your constitution.”
1970
Cambodia — The CIA overthrows Prince Sahounek, who is highly popular among Cambodians for keeping them out of the Vietnam War. He is replaced by CIA puppet Lon Nol, who immediately throws Cambodian troops into battle. This unpopular move strengthens once minor opposition parties like the Khmer Rouge, which achieves power in 1975 and massacres millions of its own people.
1971
Bolivia — After half a decade of CIA-inspired political turmoil, a CIA-backed military coup overthrows the leftist President Juan Torres. In the next two years, dictator Hugo Banzer will have over 2,000 political opponents arrested without trial, then tortured, raped and executed.
Haiti — “Papa Doc” Duvalier dies, leaving his 19-year old son “Baby Doc” Duvalier the dictator of Haiti. His son continues his bloody reign with full knowledge of the CIA.
1975
Australia — The CIA helps topple the democratically elected, left-leaning government of Prime Minister Edward Whitlam. The CIA does this by giving an ultimatum to its Governor-General, John Kerr. Kerr, a longtime CIA collaborator, exercises his constitutional right to dissolve the Whitlam government. The Governor-General is a largely ceremonial position appointed by the Queen; the Prime Minister is democratically elected. The use of this archaic and never-used law stuns the nation.
Angola — Eager to demonstrate American military resolve after its defeat in Vietnam, Henry Kissinger launches a CIA-backed war in Angola. Contrary to Kissinger’s assertions, Angola is a country of little strategic importance and not seriously threatened by communism. The CIA backs the brutal leader of UNITAS, Jonas Savimbi. This polarizes Angolan politics and drives his opponents into the arms of Cuba and the Soviet Union for survival. Congress will cut off funds in 1976, but the CIA is able to run the war off the books until 1984, when funding is legalized again. This entirely pointless war kills over 300,000 Angolans.
1979
Iran — The CIA fails to predict the fall of the Shah of Iran, a longtime CIA puppet, and the rise of Muslim fundamentalists who are furious at the CIA’s backing of SAVAK, the Shah’s bloodthirsty secret police. In revenge, the Muslims take 52 Americans hostage in the U.S. embassy in Tehran.
Afghanistan — The Soviets invade Afghanistan. The CIA immediately begins supplying arms to any faction willing to fight the occupying Soviets. Such indiscriminate arming means that when the Soviets leave Afghanistan, civil war will erupt. Also, fanatical Muslim extremists now possess state-of-the-art weaponry. One of these is Sheik Abdel Rahman, who will become involved in the World Trade Center bombing in New York.
El Salvador — An idealistic group of young military officers, repulsed by the massacre of the poor, overthrows the right-wing government. However, the U.S. compels the inexperienced officers to include many of the old guard in key positions in their new government. Soon, things are back to “normal” — the military government is repressing and killing poor civilian protesters. Many of the young military and civilian reformers, finding themselves powerless, resign in disgust.
Nicaragua — Anastasios Samoza II, the CIA-backed dictator, falls. The Marxist Sandinistas take over government, and they are initially popular because of their commitment to land and anti-poverty reform. Samoza had a murderous and hated personal army called the National Guard. Remnants of the Guard will become the Contras, who fight a CIA-backed guerilla war against the Sandinista government throughout the 1980s.
1980
El Salvador — The Archbishop of San Salvador, Oscar Romero, pleads with President Carter “Christian to Christian” to stop aiding the military government slaughtering his people. Carter refuses. Shortly afterwards, right-wing leader Roberto D’Aubuisson has Romero shot through the heart while saying Mass. The country soon dissolves into civil war, with the peasants in the hills fighting against the military government. The CIA and U.S. Armed Forces supply the government with overwhelming military and intelligence superiority. CIA-trained death squads roam the countryside, committing atrocities like that of El Mazote in 1982, where they massacre between 700 and 1000 men, women and children. By 1992, some 63,000 Salvadorans will be killed.
1981
Iran/Contra Begins — The CIA begins selling arms to Iran at high prices, using the profits to arm the Contras fighting the Sandinista government in Nicaragua. President Reagan vows that the Sandinistas will be “pressured” until “they say ‘uncle.’” The CIA’s Freedom Fighter’s Manual disbursed to the Contras includes instruction on economic sabotage, propaganda, extortion, bribery, blackmail, interrogation, torture, murder and political assassination.
1983
Honduras — The CIA gives Honduran military officers the Human Resource Exploitation Training Manual – 1983, which teaches how to torture people. Honduras’ notorious “Battalion 316” then uses these techniques, with the CIA’s full knowledge, on thousands of leftist dissidents. At least 184 are murdered.
1986
Eugene Hasenfus — Nicaragua shoots down a C-123 transport plane carrying military supplies to the Contras. The lone survivor, Eugene Hasenfus, turns out to be a CIA employee, as are the two dead pilots. The airplane belongs to Southern Air Transport, a CIA front. The incident makes a mockery of President Reagan’s claims that the CIA is not illegally arming the Contras.
Iran/Contra Scandal — Although the details have long been known, the Iran/Contra scandal finally captures the media’s attention in 1986. Congress holds hearings, and several key figures (like Oliver North) lie under oath to protect the intelligence community. CIA Director William Casey dies of brain cancer before Congress can question him. All reforms enacted by Congress after the scandal are purely cosmetic.
Haiti — Rising popular revolt in Haiti means that “Baby Doc” Duvalier will remain “President for Life” only if he has a short one. The U.S., which hates instability in a puppet country, flies the despotic Duvalier to the South of France for a comfortable retirement. The CIA then rigs the upcoming elections in favor of another right-wing military strongman. However, violence keeps the country in political turmoil for another four years. The CIA tries to strengthen the military by creating the National Intelligence Service (SIN), which suppresses popular revolt through torture and assassination.
1989
Panama — The U.S. invades Panama to overthrow a dictator of its own making, General Manuel Noriega. Noriega has been on the CIA’s payroll since 1966, and has been transporting drugs with the CIA’s knowledge since 1972. By the late 80s, Noriega’s growing independence and intransigence have angered Washington… so out he goes.
1991
The Gulf War — The U.S. liberates Kuwait from Iraq. But Iraq’s dictator, Saddam Hussein, is another creature of the CIA. With U.S. encouragement, Hussein invaded Iran in 1980. During this costly eight-year war, the CIA built up Hussein’s forces with sophisticated arms, intelligence, training and financial backing.
The Fall of the Soviet Union — The CIA fails to predict this most important event of the Cold War. This suggests that it has been so busy undermining governments that it hasn’t been doing its primary job: gathering and analyzing information. The fall of the Soviet Union also robs the CIA of its reason for existence: fighting “communism.” This leads some to accuse the CIA of intentionally failing to predict the downfall of the Soviet Union. Curiously, the intelligence community’s budget is not significantly reduced after the demise of communism.
1992
Economic Espionage — In the years following the end of the Cold War, the CIA is increasingly used for economic espionage. This involves stealing the technological secrets of competing foreign companies and giving them to American ones. Given the CIA’s clear preference for dirty tricks over mere information gathering, the possibility of serious criminal behavior is very great indeed.
1993
Haiti — The chaos in Haiti grows so bad that President Clinton has no choice but to remove the Haitian military dictator, Raoul Cedras, on threat of U.S. invasion. The U.S. occupiers do not arrest Haiti’s military leaders for crimes against humanity, but instead ensure their safety and rich retirements. Aristide is returned to power only after being forced to accept an agenda favorable to the country’s ruling class.
Aristide is returned to power only after being forced to accept an agenda favorable to the country’s ruling class.
Only to be chased out of the country again by Bush over that catch all ‘corruption’ charge. Non-Washington sympatico corruption is a dangerous place to be.
Washington’s regime change operations tick along like a broken clock. One overthrow out of twelve seems to return something close to what can be claimed as a desired result.
PS: You left out a few, including Obama’s 2012 Morsi debacle – which was a sort of left-handed, one degree of freedom less, intervention-style affair leading to regime change by al-Sisi after Morsi suspended Egypt’s constitution a year after election. Don’t know if Morsi reminds me more of Aristide or of Yushchenko.
Does Washington ever get anything right?
Yes, good point.
My list only goes up to 1993 so it has a lot of updating to do including Libya and all the “Arab spring” nonsense.
Problem is, if you sow chaos you can steal much more than if you install order and justice. So in the best interests of US establishment crooks, they sow chaos, and when the fog of the quarrels settle, hui where did the money gone? Nobody knows, unfortunally the archives were set aflame by sort of moderate rebels/communists/the heck.
And after 100 years of destruction, theft and murder, now they cry because of the millions of southerners who think “if we can’t live in peace where we belong, let’s move to the enemy abroad and bring their war back to them.” So who’s to blame? So you have more US tax payers money and treasury to be stolen by the establishment crooks in form of reception centers for the new work slaves, equipment of border patrol, fences, TV shows of worthless blabla where globalist wash money by advertising there etc., and on and on.
What do you want? Anything runs best for the crooks, when did you ever see one of them get busted for real? If cameras are allowed in court, you sure can tell this trial is a faked one. It’s all a theater, the population pays to get poorer, while really no one even knows how much money was stolen. So the Pentagon just claim: “Upps, one other TRILLION DOLLARS disappeared undeclared – shit happens. But we really need more weapons, so please lift our budget now! Or we all are lost because of ENEMIES worldwide, China Russia Cuba Venezuela Iran Irak Iceland Anarctis Space Invaders Strange Diseases AI…” Enemies inside.
The rest of the story you all know…- and now? Civil War? Oh my Gosh not again, after the last the Fed was installed, if this one is over you have corporation’s own states – the legislation for their privatisation, for corporations very own states where they rule as if it still was absolutism, was already passed some years ago. With a surveillance state Hitler (your man! if you are a NY capitalist) could only dream of. Well, thanks for operation paperclip that brought his very experts back into homeland by the thousands. They were needed indeed, and did good fast work: 1947 her creation was officially established. But whom am I telling this. Hell awaits…- Rofl!
CIA Crimes: EPILOGUE
In a speech before the CIA celebrating its 50th anniversary, President Clinton said: “By necessity, the American people will never know the full story of your courage.”
Clinton’s is a common defense of the CIA: namely, the American people should stop criticizing the CIA because they don’t know what it really does. This, of course, is the heart of the problem in the first place. An agency that is above criticism is also above moral behavior and reform. Its secrecy and lack of accountability allows its corruption to grow unchecked.
Furthermore, Clinton’s statement is simply untrue. The history of the agency is growing painfully clear, especially with the declassification of historical CIA documents. We may not know the details of specific operations, but we do know, quite well, the general behavior of the CIA.
These facts began emerging nearly five decades ago at an ever-quickening pace. Today we have a remarkably accurate and consistent picture, repeated in country after country, and verified from countless different directions.
The CIA’s response to this growing knowledge and criticism follows a typical historical pattern. (Indeed, there are remarkable parallels to the Medieval Church’s fight against the Scientific Revolution.)
The first journalists and writers to reveal the CIA’s criminal behavior were harassed and censored if they were American writers, and tortured and murdered if they were foreigners. (See Philip Agee’s On the Run for an example of early harassment.) However, over the last two decades the tide of evidence has become overwhelming, and the CIA has found that it does not have enough fingers to plug every hole in the dike.
This is especially true in the age of the Internet, where information flows freely among millions of people.
Since censorship is impossible, the Agency must now defend itself with apologetics. Clinton’s “Americans will never know” defense is a prime example.
Another common apologetic is that “the world is filled with unsavory characters, and we must deal with them if we are to protect American interests at all.”
There are two things wrong with this. First, it ignores the fact that the CIA has regularly spurned alliances with defenders of democracy, free speech and human rights, preferring the company of military dictators and tyrants. The CIA had moral options available to them, but did not take them.
Second, this argument begs several questions. The first is: “Which American interests?” The CIA has courted right-wing dictators because they allow wealthy Americans to exploit the country’s cheap labor and resources.
But poor and middle-class Americans pay the price whenever they fight the wars that stem from CIA actions, from Vietnam to the Gulf War to Panama.
The second begged question is:
“Why should American interests come at the expense of other peoples’ human rights?”
The CIA should be abolished, its leadership dismissed and its relevant members tried for crimes against humanity.
Our intelligence community should be rebuilt from the ground up, with the goal of collecting and analyzing information.
As for covert action, there are two moral options.
The first one is to eliminate covert action completely.
But this gives jitters to people worried about the Adolf Hitlers of the world.
So a second option is that we can place covert action under extensive and true democratic oversight.
For example, a bipartisan Congressional Committee of 40 members could review and veto all aspects of CIA operations upon a majority or super-majority vote.
Which of these two options is best may be the subject of debate, but one thing is clear: like dictatorship, like monarchy, unaccountable covert operations should die like the dinosaurs they are.
If one’s assessment of the problem is faulty, the solution will also inevitably not solve anything. Intelligence analysts like these are only driving the US closer to the abyss of its own downfall.
The CIA is Torture Inc. both mental and physical.
Watched the last MacGregor interview on the Judge which you are very familiar with Larry. Judge played a clip of his other guest Jack Devine…..it seems Jack has lost a bit of confidence gauging his body language. Yet he still can’t come to terms with the facts on the ground. Not sure if he’s (JD) on the take or he just can’t face the reality of being wrong? 🤷
cognitive dissonance.
I am sure he practices believing seven impossible things before breakfast every day.
This man is the personification of Tim Weiner’s book Legacy of Ashes about the incompetence of the CIA.
After the Putin gave the and now we F’ them all speech last spring, any fence sitters or doubters are now onboard.
These things happen when you confiscate the private property of so called oligarchs of Russian ancestry and freeze RF state assets in private banks.
Only the brilliant faculty lounge high on their own flatulence beltway blowhards could get a Great Patriotic War part two going.
Larry what’s with the kid gloves? You say “He is not a stupid person.” Then he is a SHILL and EVIL! C’mon this is no longer a COLD war, man up, dispense with the diplomacy, he is either an absolute and abject idiot, or actually intentionally traitorous. I lean towards the latter and in fact in the moment would act upon that assessment. C’mon, an absolute POS, no validity NOR respect of any kind…
I was counting on folks like you to deliver the final judgment. Rolf is a moron.
Be still, my heart. Can we now disperse with the formalities and formally label the Deep State as Moronovia?
Ukraine bombed Nordstream. Also, OJ is looking for the real killer.
… He is not a stupid person …
Hanlon’s razor: Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
Serious non-rhetorical question, Larry: Especially when it comes to government officials such as Rolf Mowatt-Larssen, how do you distinguish between when they are mistaken and when they are just outright lying?
I used to think that Biden, for example, was simply lying through his teeth with respect to Ukraine. I am increasingly coming around to the view that he is just insanely misinformed. Biden is a bit of a special case because he is clearly not quite mentally all there, but Mowatt-Larssen seems to still have his mental faculties intact.
I guess I just don’t understand how anybody can be aware of the history as to how we got here and come to the honest (even if incorrect) conclusion that Russia was the aggressor.
With Biden it’s really hard to make that distinction, since lying comes as naturally as rolling off a log, or tripping over a step.
President Biden is a liar. But really, who is surprised?
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2023/jul/9/president-biden-is-liar/
Do you know anything about this? I heard rumors and then Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. mentioned it recently and someone reposted this. Why are SLAVIC people targeted? To eliminate Russians? WTF?
https://rumble.com/v26cbal-inside-pfizer-and-astrazenecas-ukrainian-biolab.html
This is nothing new, nor it is a secret. Even MSM wrote about it.

Who could have guessed that an Empire built on genocide, would like to do some more genocide.
RFK Jr. is crossing over to the wild side of the theory spectrum, on a few fronts. Not a good sign for his viability as a candidate.
The bad sign is that yellow journalism is misrepresenting what he says, and if that isn’t enough, they flat out lie.
… We got to find out what mind altering substances he has been ingesting …
He is a normal brainwashed American who has not been able to escape the American cult. He could have had a chance if he had used mind altering substances in the 70s.
How YOU escaped?
The EU lost 1.2 trillion euros in additional natgas costs due to NS sabotage + sanctions.
And counting. It may double or even triple in case of cold winter in 24 and 25.

Loss for someone, profit for someone else.
Well this guy look like the perfect,Sarariman which is the Japanese way of saying Salary Man. For sure when he ends his day at work and returns home he watches news from CNN, Fox…He doesn’t have to be precise in his judgement because there’s pay check no matter what.
Get him on judge’s show, back to back with Jack , it’s going to be a ball!
Just a load of narrative. Membership maintenance to the office mess for “has beens.”
General Valeriy Zaluzhnyy ….is his the dude who got a hole in his head above the eye brows or ears? Moved to a foreign country for medical treatment? Read US Mil hospital in Germany?
Now being interviewed by all the usual suspects. Is there a video of the interviews from his ICU bed? Or is there another Uki General talking or maybe a new Ghost of Kiev on Snake Island?
The decent into propaganda giggles, as covered by Larry’s latest post, has become “inconceivable!”
Zelensky went to Snake Island recently. After that Russians bombed it. Probably to destroy eggs that he layed.
To be numb to reality is a choice if you are assumed to be a rational being. Since J. Edgar, getting dirty secrets on public figures is always used as blackmail. Why would it ever change?
Some need the money. How does inflation go with a G rating? Can’t be any better than the rest of the fixed pensions. The bite has to be getting worse, so what do they do? Go the CNN or MSnBc and they have to sell fluffy and patriarchal. On Fox it’s bombastic. Others cater to the emotional.
Honor or truth, can’t afford it. Things change fast.
Yet another CIA analyst as DUMB as a Rock!
We’ve ben caught lying but we’re not liers, and we’ve been caught stealing but we’re not thieves, and so on and so forth.
When I see a person use a hyphenated name I think to myself; he’s from the aristocracy, his parents were first cousins and thus he has certain genetic weaknesses that manifest as irrational thought.
I didn’t watch him. My blood pressure is fine at the moment, I don’t want to upset it.
didn`t swamp rat Pence say it all? yes, no need to watch it.
Pence’s debates, if they ever happen, will be entertaining. I just hope one of the cameras catches the windup key on his back.
The geniuses think they’ll cause the collapse of Russia with a proxy war in Ukraine, as they think they caused in the Soviet Union via our proxy war during the 1980s in Afghanistan. We can’t afford this game again. Look at this US debt chart – we could easily afford our own war in Vietnam, but the budget went haywire about the time we began the proxy war against the Soviets in Afghanistan. Why? Because there was accountability for spending in our own war.
But proxy wars and later ‘nation building’ games are black holes with no accountability. Madness and thievery are destroying this country. The chart doesn’t lie.
https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/americas-finance-guide/national-debt/#the-growing-national-debt
Actually, the charts are full of lies. If the government lies about its military prowess, and lies about Democrat sponsored fake J6 “insurrections, and lies about antifa and BLM being peaceful protestors, and lies about DOD bio-weapon releases as “SARS CoV2” and lies about an experimental gene therapy being a vaccine, and lies about pretty much everything, why would you give credence to financial information from this criminal cabal posing as a government?
I get what you’re saying. But it’s hard to monkey with the debt number, but if they did, the real numbers would be even worse than the horror shown in that chart. Just don’t believe the lie that we shouldn’t worry about the debt because only the debt to GDP ratio matters. That chart is bad, too, and shows the sames ominous trends.

I read somewhere on Substack that Liz Truss is now making $15, 000+/ hour for consulting/ presentations. Can you believe that some idiots would listen to this low form/ nuke triggered cretin and pay a fortune?? I think Annaleana 360 degrees Baerbock would make a killing in math lecturing just like Justin Trudeau who was a teacher but confessed he can’t do small numbers. Suddenly, all the gazillions to Ukraine make sense – these “decision makers” can’t read, count or even use logic.
That’s how corruption works in the West and it’s all legal. You do as we want while in office and we’ll arrange you lavishly paid lectures afterwards. Everything is legally covered in the West. From corruption to money laundering, there’s a scheme for everything.
Yep. Also, those are rookie numbers. Clintons do six figures. I guess Liz Truss is even bad in corruption. Baerbock would probably do even worse. For 15, 000 she would have to add a lap dance or something. Trampoline stuff alone just won’t cut it.
TruDumb was drama teacher, great training for bald-faced lying and blackface shenanigans. Math was obviously not part of the curriculum. He was also in the first class of WEF “Young Leaders”, along with Merkel… in 1992. Yes, 1992. He came back to Canada a Soros/Schwab mole, to be placed in the Canadian gov’t on cue. Along with Freeland (Soros’ would-be neo-nazi biographer) and Singh, personna-non-grata in India due to his family’s involvement in the Air India terrorism.
Fidel Jr. should offer to start a vaudeville troupe with Zelensky and Arestovich and go on a world-wide tour once Russia has buckled to its knees.
Money laundering. Also see: Million dollar book deals; paintings.
No quid pro quo is bribery, but these have arbitrary subjective prices.

I had a great linear algebra prof in university. He did have problems with simple adding and subtracting in lectures
Rolf is a senior harvard fellow now so he knows his shit. He knows his shit is total shit.
You gotta hand it to RT and the ruskies though. No need for fake news, just bring on an ex cia professor of dildo politics from the most prestigious university in the states and get the popcorn out.
All the west can do is threaten nuclear war, it can’t do anything else. Nobody though in the real world is quaking in their boots.
Thanks for the work you do
The world is full of very pleasant, soft-spoken men and women who in the end are pure evil, for example….Larry Fink….
In fact, most of psychopaths behave so, becuase of lack of emotions and because they chose to imitate such human behavior so that to pass more inadverted amongst the crowd and be able to attract their victims….
This video is not on YouTube? Here in France our Dear Great Deader has forbidden the rumble service.
Too much potential for another storming of the Bastille, no doubt.
Thank you so much for the warning. You saved my computer as I put my club in closet before I watched the video. Thanks for all the work you do to get the truth out.
If guys like Rolf Larsen weren’t so scary, they’d be laugh out loud funny. Worthy of a spot on SNL or The Daily Show. Alas…
Sadly, I’m coming (kicking and screaming) to Larry’s POV that only an undeniable military defeat of the US will wake the American people up to Reality. Hopefully it won’t come to that.
To truly understand the depravity of the UniParty, just watch Tucker Carlson’s interviews of Trump’s rivals for the GOP Pres. Nomination. It doesn’t get any more blunt than Mike Pence’s “…I don’t care about that…” comment.
If we elect another Brandon or a Lindsey Graham, we’re done. We need someone who will help us clean out academia, on the humanities side anyway. And the media. No need for purges and Gulags, just withering sarcasm. These bone heads can’t imagine how stupid they sound to the average guy. Embarrass them until no one takes them seriously.
“I don’t care about that” (the US). That’s when Pence’s preprogrammed chip burped and went into a quick reset.
The only chance America or any western country has to return to sanity is through complete collapse.
The rot, corruption, disorder and dysfunction are systemic- through every single layer of society.
Only when every bubble of delusion is burst by implosion/destruction can a fresh start occur.
The problem is that 95% of people want to avoid this scenario at all costs, willing to say or do anything to continue living their current delusion for 1 more day- kicking the can…
Ultimately the natural order is the last line of defense that will return proper natural order.
America & the “west” are rapidly approaching the “last line- the advance is now unstoppable.
“He is not a stupid person.” Well, how do you define “stupid”? Everything he said is mind-boggling stupid. If he can’t even get things right that are directly related to his career, that’s the definition of stupid. If it walks like a duck….
I have have German friends who hate Russia with a passion, though most were West German and had no immediate experience with the Russian occupation. In fact, the American occupation of Western Germany was in some respects harsher than the Russian occupation: The Russians worked German POWs almost to the point of death, if not actual death, in the early years of the occupation to rebuild much of what the Germans destroyed in the USSR, while under Ike’s orders, German POWs were stripped of that status and penned in open-air camps where more than a million were starved to actual death in the years following the war. The civilians didn’t fare so well in those years either. On balance, the Americans were far more angels of retribution than the Russians. Don’t get me started with French ethnic cleansing of Alsace and Lorraine.
But it was the Red Army that crushed the Wehrmacht in ways the West could only dream of, so it is the Russians the Germans hate.
So it is with the Americans. It was the Red Army that crushed the Wehrmacht in ways Americans can only fantasize about, so it is the Russians that the Americans hate.
Yet in the former GDR there is much less”hatred” of Russians because US did not get chance to propagandise as it did in West Germany.
It was Soviet Military which was ordered by Gorbachev onto streets in Weimar, Leipzig, Dresden in 1989 to prevent the Stasi from enacting its “Tienanmen Plan” to crush the demonstrations against electoral fraud taking place………there were internment camps already prepared…….but Soviet troops with APCs obstructed the Stasi Security Forces from crushing the crowds on the street

I often wonder why the generation of Russians who survived the bloodiest war with Nazi Germany did not pass on their hatred of the Germans to the next generation. Maybe because they felt like winners and felt indulgence towards the defeated enemy. Maybe because hatred destroys the soul and does not allow one to strive for a peaceful, happy future for one’s children and grandchildren. Hatred draws to the grave.
Today, I can say with all responsibility that the Russians do not feel hatred for either the Germans, or the Americans, or anyone else. Perhaps the exception is those Russians who are now on the line of contact. Not just like that, Russian soldiers use the slang “Germans” to refer to Ukrainian servicemen. It’s like a reminder to your friends that the Russians haven’t forgotten anything either.
Because it’s an essential part of Slavic culture. Westernization of
Slavs mostly consists of filling them up with hate (towards everything that they once were).
In lawyerly terms he is attempting to argue “a hopeless brief”.
The idea that Vicky Nuland *didn’t* decide who would be the next Ukrainian President is risible, but that didn’t stop him from arguing exactly that: it was the Ukrainians who decided what happened at Maidan and they – and they alone – chose what happened in its aftermath.
Vicky Nuland? Apparently the only decision she made was what type of cookies she would bake, and who she would hand them out to.
Bonkers. Utterly bonkers.
The only real question is this: does he really believe his nonsense, or is he singing for his supper?
Not sure which would be worse. Probably the former, but it’d be a close run thing.
The first coup in Ukraine was the so-called Orange Revolution in 2004 when they blocked Yanukovych …….he got elected in 2010…….US had to remove him
They used Yushchenko backed by his CIA handler Chumachenko who became his wife to rig the 2004 election against Yanukovych

I stopped listening to bonos like him so I can’t comment on his ballaballa-blabla. But I have one question from the core of my heart: Sure his name is Rolf? And not Rofl?
He is merely a reflection of our society. There is no accountability at any level. Oh. Bobby did not do his homework? No worries. Bobby still graduates. And here is his certificate of achievement!
US military officer corp. You have not won a war since 1946? No worries. Promotions and pretty young transgender secretaries for all!
MIC. Your F16 only works on a surgically clean runway? The F35 only works 35% of the time? Here are some more contracts to make more!
It’s like the Federal debt. The American electorate says nothing. Because they are all in hock up to their ass. Why should they judge the government?
Yes, I served in the military. Yes, I believed in this country once. It’s over kids. Whether it is poker, stock investments, relationships, or a country. At some point you need to look at your cards and cut your losses. I reiterate. Pay off debt, convert bullshit comfort possessions into liquid investments that make passive income, get yourself in the best physical condition and health possible. And remember the new Bible. With its one verse.
Don’t let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.
Survive. So, you can watch the flames on the horizon from a beach with a beer in your hand, and a curvy lap warmer in place. Pretending there is hope and that there is anything “more” is not a plan. It is a fantasy.
Well said!
If more people would realize and accept this, there is a chance we could avoid the worst case scenario.
But alas the sheeple prefer to maintain their current delusion for 1 more day, so worst case scenario here we come.
All free thinking men should be as you say- relocating to a comfy place to watch the flames, returning to the lush regrowth and opportunities, post cleansing fire.
Rolf is like a man who, while silently farting, walks quickly through a crowded room to avoid being discovered as the culprit.
Gotta remember one thing about these guys (Rolf and Jack and Ben Bridges, et al):
They are OLD and retired meaning they are totally dependent on pensions!
They don’t have the energy or gumption to grab a full time gig anymore, thus they have to rely on that pension to avoid eating dog food and begging on the street.
Very easy to manipulate and have them LIE openly and shamelessly.
“In Rolf’s world, Putin is bad.”
Of course he suspected he had been played after Mr. Putin’s meeting with the “oligarchs” in March 2000, which at least dented his perception of “Rolf’s world”.
No, I think he just said Putin is delusional. Transference at work again, I guess.
Do you think sometimes theses CIA folks have crimes to hide and ” Russia losing big” is their cope ?
4/23 RT video –2 orthodox church leaders in Ukraine accused by name Jack Devine of persecuting the Church and planning and carrying out Maidan.
Will Russia hold war crime trials or 1 day rule the UN–perhaps as a war settlement demand?
Thank you for helping me understand Larry
Having a hyphenated name doesn’t show he has a backbone. No offense meant to anyone with a hyphenated name, but if you want to join your name with your wife’s and she isn’t willing to take your name as a compromise then you should leave your name as is and she does the same. This shows strength, not a wimpy compromise.
Now, I listened to what he had to say and it was a useless waste of time. This propagandist believes what the Roman Senate used to believe, thinking that their progress and power came from infinite conquest and plundering. History shows that such self-serving empires that grow based on war and abuse, eventually decline over many years. Unfortunately the bi-partisan view of high level officials in the USA mimic those of historically declining and extinct empires over the last number of years. I’m afraid the USA is declining and unless there is a serious change at the highest levels with intelligent and retrospective leaders, the decline shall continue. Right now, there are perhaps 3 or 4 members of Congress that have a foresight IQ in excess of 50. The majority are feckless losers only out for their own personal self-interest. The CIA and FBI don’t do the work they’re supposed to do to protect the United States citizens.
Slightly off CIA topic but relevant nevertheless. How do you think the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions came about ?
Apparently it was initiated by the Second Stoltenberg Cabinet in the so-called „Oslo Process“…………yes Jens Stoltenberg as Prime Minister of Norway brought about an International Convention to ban cluster munitions !!!!
Quite right, Jens Stoltenberg is a traitor, a mix of the Nazi-Quisling and the Hird/NS, and Anders Breivik, the most horrible
childrenkiller one can get, shot 69 teenagers, one by one at the Utöya, worse than the Nazis, they were the future of Stolten-bergs Arbeiderparti, but no one dare to speak up. The Norwegian nationalism is the most dangerous, they are posturing hiding, as a tiny little innocent maiden, but is a US shameless, traitor, the time we living in, but it was Stoltenberg who ordered the Norwegian Air Force to drop, 600 tonnes of illegal warfare on Libya, 2011,and Serbia, the birth of their airforce” he said. Norway was destroyed during the German occupation, 1940-1945, and was effectively SS-ifierad, and is now a Gestapo follower. Stoltenberg must go down with Kiev,
no one other will sacrifice their careers, a part of the Nato-crisis.
“Western leaders are drafting a set of formal commitments to Ukraine’s self-defense, modeled after what the United States has done for Israel since the 1970s. These pledges would ensure the Ukrainian armed forces’ ability to defend their country and rearm after high-intensity combat ends.” This according to [Acting US De-Facto President?] CIA Agent Eric Ciaramella, published in Washington Post July 5, 2023, a week prior to NATO summit.

“The Biden administration should be ambitious with this plan. Together with key European nations, the United States should broker an agreement that would provide the strategic framework for concrete multiyear funding pledges by each signatory. The arrangement should formalize a mechanism through which the signatories can develop joint threat assessments, coordinate policies and prepare contingency plans to surge additional aid to Kyiv if it were attacked in the future. The plan should also help Ukraine rebuild its once-flourishing defense manufacturing sector, which is key to sustaining its military over the long term.
The West should commit to equipping Ukraine with superior technology and intelligence, as well as capabilities to match or negate the obvious advantages that come with Russia’s size. A similar U.S. obligation to maintain Israel’s “qualitative military edge” over its potential rivals could provide a useful template. It is not a perfect analogy, not least because Ukraine is a nonnuclear state facing down a nuclear superpower. Still, like Israel, Ukraine is growing into a serious regional power. It has already fielded a credible force and inflicted serious costs on Russia. Under Western tutelage, the Ukrainian military will grow more sophisticated; over time, Putin or a successor would be less confident that a future invasion would succeed.”
I just want to add that Eric was targeted as the “whistleblower” resulting in ImpeachmentGate against Trump, according to Real Clear Investigations–the man who allegedly leaked the Trump-Zelensky telephone call. Of which Vindman became the most public vessel on this matter.
Why Trump failed to fire Eric and Vindman on the spot is an issue all those wanting four more years of Trump must at some point reconcile.
Martyanov has labeled Trump a coward, and given the above, one is hard-pressed to rebut that.
Be that as it may, Eric’s road map for Ukraine did not in any way get stopped by his ”’boss”’ at the time, President Trump.
Eric’s July 5 2023 WAP essay continues:
“Most important, a formal Western commitment to Ukraine’s long-term capabilities could help shorten the war and bring about a just and lasting peace more quickly. With the Russian military unable to subordinate Ukraine, Putin’s current strategy rests on his hope that the West will grow tired of supporting Kyiv. Only by signaling its intention to continue arming Ukraine for the long haul can the West convince Putin that his forces’ advantages will erode, and that he cannot win the war.
Once the contours of a long-term U.S. commitment come into focus, the Biden team must urgently work with Congress to codify it. For inspiration, Congress can look to its past efforts to legislate the parameters of long-term support to Israel and Taiwan. An unambiguous U.S. legal commitment to Ukraine is a necessary step in credibly asserting the West’s staying power. . . .”

The intelligence agencies suffer from the same problem that afflicts the rest of the US government including the upper ranks of the military: Wishful thinking is rewarded.
To advance, you tell your superiors what they wish to be true, actually is true. The dissident US ex-military officers all seem to have left the service as colonels. That’s because when you have reached enough time in service where the selection boards decide if you either get a bird or a star, or instead, you get retired, officers who play the game pass through. Those who don’t, get their 20 year retirement papers.
The war in Ukraine is presently at a stalemate, looking like the Western Front in 1916. However stalemates don’t last forever and eventually 1918 came along. Western intelligence and military analysts like this fellow are rewarded for pretending that they believe it is going to be 1916 for another 10 years and they can just wear the Russians down.
“is blinded by an old Cold War view of the world-”
The whole of the ruling intelligentsia is. That’s our problem. We’re still living in the 20th Century, while the rest of world has moved on to the 21st.
It’s impossible to set realistic and effective policies in 2023, based on the world sit-rep from 1983.
Our government, its policies, and the people in it, are as out of date and obsolete, as the weapons and aircraft that they send to Ukraine.
“I was shocked by Rolf’s cavalier dismissal of the West coming up short in its ability to supply 155 mm shells and effective air defense systems.”
The de-industrialisation of the U.S. began in the 1960s, with the steel industry. Schools don’t have much in the way of stem classes, anymore, and many high schools, and even junior colleges, have done away with technical/vocational/industrial training, altogether. The U.S. doesn’t have the capacity to design and manufacture anything, anymore, much less keep what we have running and in repair.
Just because we never upgraded and replaced our weapons and equipment from the mid 20th Century, doesn’t mean that the rest of the world hasn’t, either.
Maybe he’s enjoying the same mushrooms Janet Yellen apparently consumed in China.
Janet Yellen IS a mushroom. Not to worry though. According to CNN, she has set off a craze within the secretly America-loving population trying to emulate its wise leaders. Mushroom costumes are selling out like hot cakes as well.

As good a reason as any to set off to war with China and ‘set their people free!’
In the 70s University students were very left and anti CIA. This man is a CIA and American Nationalist. He is very Narcissistic, Nationalism is group narcissism about the nation. His confirmation bias to information is such he can not be a good analyst and lives in a delusional fantasy world. Quality of CIA went down because in 70s and early 80s they could not recruit the best students.
Take a good look at this face.
This is what a former chief level CIA officer looks like.
When you listen to him you will be astonished in a way that is hard to describe.
Is he really human? The more you listen, the more you realize that you are really watching some kind of biological or perhaps silicone mannequin that is controlled by a bizarre squid-like alien life form whose only knowledge of earth came from “Stars & Stripes” magazine, Scobbie doo cartoons and fragments of 1960s John Birch Society tracts.
If this profoundly stupid waterhead is an example what the CIA have been run by, it explaines why our once great country went from the light of the world to a deadly genocidal flaming cesspool clown hell in just one generation.

The guy’s slicing of the debated issues once more reinforces the view that nothing will change unless the US industrial military complex folds up either due to a painful internal convulsion or an external attack.
The one question Afshan didn’t ask was: ‘Is the Wolfowitz doctrine still valid?’
It is of course valid, it explains neatly both the Ukrainian war and the barking on China, so far only barking, the action on the middle Kingdom will come later.
The doctrine says the American Republic has to do everything possible, legal or not, to stop a rival identical to the old USSR to emerge anywhere in the world, the containment of Russia, her destruction and ultimately her balkanisation is what flows naturally from the doctrine.
It’s hard to imagine the American Governing Elite ever giving up on the Ukrainian war easily, plenty of orders for the likes of Lockheed Martins, no body bags of the Americans coming home, one Slavonic tribe killing another Slavonic tribe, what’s not to like?
What a crock of horse shit !! Nuland was handing out cookies to the NAZIs and caught on phone directing who the new government was going to be, but he denies it all. It was well documented and never in dispute, not even by Nuland. Bad on Harvard for letting him near anyone’s kids to fill them with lies.
There is a clear legal path outlined by RFK Jr.’s campaign manager on how to legally proceed with an investigation of Nord Stream sabotage.

Sorry to Larry, but I cannot agree about this Larssen clown. He is not an intelligent man. Articulate sure, intelligent, not so much. There are, and have been a long line of such idiots in US foreign policy circles for quite some time. All the bright boys and girls who go to the best schools and wear suits. But, I have been sitting back for years marveling at just how f’n stupid so many of them obviously are. They could foul up boiling water yet these educated idiots are actually listened to by decision makers. Western elitists(they are not ‘elite’ in any observable way so I refuse to use that word in describing them) seem to consider the rest of us as ‘useless eaters’. Fact is, it is they and their stooges like Larssen who are the real useless eaters. They love to look at themselves in the mirror/on television and hear themselves talk yet effectively add nothing to the benefit of their own societies. They’re the sorts of people who work overtime thinking of what’s next on the list of things they can take from their own people while simultaneously plotting war against the rest of the world. At this point quite frankly, I will not be satisfied if this insane warmongering stops tomorrow. These people can no longer be free to simply walk away from all the real damage they have done. They have to be punished for it.
Harvard University, of course.
I took your advice Larry, removing my shoes before sitting on the loo to watch this pathetic clown named Rolf on my laptop. All that was missing was the red ball on his nose.
There was nothing within reach to throw… so I just let it flow and lost a couple of pounds. Where did they find this pond scum? And isn’t it interesting that it takes a British born journalist, Afshin Rattansi, to ask some real questions and at least attempt to educate this non-entity as to how full of Scheidt Rolf is, ignoring Afshani’s reminder of victoria nuland’s phone call deciding on Ukraine’s new leader and her current position in the biden administration. Rolf has a different idea of sovereignty, when it applies to countries that allow us to exploit their resources for pennies on the dollar.
While these scums are making utopic analysis about Russia and its leaderships, Russia is going territory and exposing to world slowly the real happenings inside UKR and what took to this situation. The (low) level of western militaries (a lot of them) and politicians is something that encounters no similarity in history.
We need not be astonished at the Western elites’ “delusions”. Their otherwise inexplicable attempt to fight the war in Western peoples’ heads is explained in this video from The Telegraph.
The accompanying blurb tells us that, rather than investing in the hard, physical disciplines and tools of modern war they’ve bet the farm on “… the architecture needed for the battle in the mind, which is, after all, where wars are won and lost.”
https://youtu.be/ts4JS2NVtqs
IOW, it’s more important to look good than to be good. Conflation of physical and virtual reality is surely a sign that the West’s elites breathe the rarefied air of madness.
The guy makes little sense, HMS Terror, how could a Russian trooper in the trenches of the southern Ukraine even know about the Bogdanov’s stare, or of the Drug Addict of Kiev shopping at the petrol station?
“The guy makes little sense…”
He may appear delusional to you and me, but he’s part ‘n parcel of the West’s efforts composing and managing the narratives that dominate the West’s and much of the world’s info-sphere.
They’re not wrong in thinking that the effects of their efforts migrate to the armies doing the shooting. A convincing narrative, however absurd can keep an army shooting long after it’s lost any prospects of winning the physical war.
Their problem is that they forgot that at the end of the day it’s the physical war that determines the narrative following it. The West chose to fight Russia (and China) in the world’s hearts and minds and left the blood ‘n guts battlefield for NATO to sort out. NATO botched its end, badly, not least because it too succumbed to the absurdities and delusions created by the propagandists.
Judging by the comments below the video, the narratives emerging from the battlefield are gaining traction and putting the dominant narratives on the run.
I forgot to add a link to Alastair Crooke’s latest article (which also links to the Telegraph video) discussing how narrative management has taken the lead role in the West’s hegemonic strategy.

I was recently at two MIC conferences. Connections Canada, the Origins War College.
My fellow canadians new the score, but except for one guy who they kept telling to shut up man dont get us in trouble, they for career reasons were keeping their mouths shut about Ukraine.
The USA guys at Origins though mostly retired believed the most hair brained things ever. It was just so sad to talk to my friends who now were freaking out like TDS on steroids when it came to Russia.
Apparently Bakhmut didnt really fall and it was all an elaborate trap by the Ukrainians and to pull off Stalingrad 2.0.
