A reasonable question. Monday’s FBI raid at Trump’s Mar A Lago was very strange. Unlike previous FBI hits on people linked to Trump, such as Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon, the establishment media was kept in the dark. They did not get a heads up. How did we learn about the raid? Trump announced it via his social media page around 1830 hours edt on Monday. Very strange.
Think about this. Not a single soul in the Trump universe who knew about the raid at Mar A Lago breathed a word about this unholy assault. Not one. And, surprisingly, the FBI kept its mouth shut. There is something more to this.
Full disclosure. I once respected the FBI. I coordinated with Floyd Clarke, the FBI’s Deputy Director in 1990 on the State Department’s Terrorism Rewards Program. I met Floyd at the Friar’s Club in NY City in the summer of 1990 and we discussed the upcoming public service ads that I was producing. Floyd was a fine man.
I count Larry Mefford, Chris Whitcomb, Ed Ball, Denny Kline, George Alznauer and other FBI retired agents as friends. All good, honorable men. I worked closely with the FBI in going after the Libyans who bombed Pan Am 103. I was there when the FBI discovered, thanks to the CIA, where the Libyans obtained the timer (a MEBO timer) in Switzerland that was used to blow up Pan Am 103.
But that is past. The current FBI is evil, corrupt and criminal. Men like James Comey, Andrew McCabe and Peter Strzok have discarded sacred principles in favor of partisan politics and in the process discredited the FBI as a bona fide law enforcement agency. It is time to disband the FBI and assign the Federal agents to other departments. The FBI can no longer be trusted.
In the summer of 1990, I was participating in a counter terrorism exercise at Fort McClellan in Alabama. At that time the Emergency Support Team (which was then classified) relied on the CIA for “hostage negotiation.” I was working with the FBI Special Agent in Charge from Mobile, Alabama. As we talked I learned he had far more expertise in negotiating with criminals/terrorists than the CIA. In fact, the CIA had zero experience. One of the lessons learned from that exercise (and subsequently adopted as policy) was to put the FBI in charge of hostage negotiations.
That was then. I no longer trust the FBI. It has become a political monster and must be dismantled. I realize in stating this that I may be declared an enemy of the state. Fuck them. This is about preserving what remains of the U.S. Republic. A country that my ancestors fought and died for. As some of you know, my 5th Great Uncle, Charles Thomson, was Secretary of the Continental Congress.
The outrage generated by the FBI’s unlawful and unwarranted assault on the residence of Donald Trump may have been because President Trump baited them. What do I mean? President Trump managed to convince the FBI that he had sensitive information about Cross Fire Hurricane hidden in his cellar that could destroy the FBI. The criminal Wray no longer cares about the rule of law. Protecting the FBI is his number one priority. Rather than wait and risk exposure by Trump, Wray, with the support of Garland and Biden, gave the greenlight to attack Trump’s Florida residence.
Why did Mr. Trump wait so patiently throughout the day before telling the world that the FBI was behaving like the Soviet KGB or the East German Stasi? I think it was a conscious, informed decision. Donald Trump is exposing the FBI for the criminal thugs they are. Corrupt and lawless.
I have another friend. He was the number two guy in DEA’s office in New York City. He orchestrated the capture of Kiki Mosquera, the man who organized the bombing of an Avianca flight at the behest of Pablo Escobar. After my friend Jack slapped cuffs on Mosquera (it was a rainy night in Queens, NY), the FBI tried to charge him with obstruction of justice. FBI wanted the glory and were ready to try to prosecute a fellow American for locking up a bona fide terrorist. Jack always hated the FBI. Now I know why.
Larry thank you very much for this information. Your hypothesis of Trump baiting FBI has a 90% probability of being true. Trump is not successful in his life for being a fool. These nitwits plotting against him are going to loose BIG TIME. Thanks again.
Very interesting theory, Larry. I think you’re on to something. And good job President Trump.
An aside – My 5th (or 6th?) Great Uncle (or maybe you’d call it “cousin”?) was the Commander of the Continental Army and the first President of the United States. My mother’s maiden name was Ball – direct descendent of the same Ball family that produced Mary Ball, George Washington’s mother. I wonder if your friend Ed Ball is a relative of some kind. If he was from the area of Lancaster County, VA, he most definitely would be. This is a different Ball family than the makers of the famous jars. My direct ancestor was an officer of artillery in the Continental Army. I understand where you’re coming from. Our ancestors no doubt knew each well. Very cool.
Back to the FBI – I wonder if the US Marshalls could assume responsibility for interstate law enforcement. That said, it’s the DOJ that is really at the root of the problem, or at least equal to the FBI in corruption and fascism. The DOJ must be purged since it really can’t be replaced as far as I can figure. And yeah, if they want to label me a domestic terrorist for saying that, then fuck them. Come and get it.
But first the Commander in Chief must gain the right to fire everyone. Under the current system, using their appeals process, they would outlast the office holder (the presidency).
Important point. You may not know a subcommittee of the House Oversight and Government Affairs Committee has drafted legislation to reclassify senior bureaucrats as “at will employees” and to fundamentally reform the federal Civil Service System. Their draft was published internally about 10 days ago, which was followed by Trump declaring he would fire 50,000 federal employees if he is re-elected in 2024.
This legislation was prompted by the collection of thousands of documents confirming wide-spread criminal misconduct by senior bureaucrats and political appointees throughout the federal administrative state. . . the situation is much worse than the public realizes as corruption has become a culture supporting the extraction of trillions of dollars, which is recycled as political contributions and funding to preferred politicians and private-sector organizations.
I’m 90% sure Larry got this right because taking on such an embedded corrupt organization requires strong public support, and even then it’s going to be one hell of a fight with those who now control the federal administrative state. Making this reform project public was a shot across the bow to shatter the idea these people can act with impunity. When Wray bit on it to protect his precious corrupt FBI, it opened the door to the reforms that need to happen
The idea that he baited them to make them look like exactly what they are is just crazy enough to be credible. The fell for it hook, line, sinker, rid, reel and fisherman’s gloves.
It would have been hilarious if he planted documents regarding Clintons criminal activities to force them into entering them as evidence.
I recently retired from a federal law enforcement agency. In my time, I worked with multiple FBI offices domestic and abroad. For the most part, their agents and the agency as a whole were self-serving, manipulative, glory-hounds with their own agenda, which on occasion, coincided with U.S. policy, may have upheld the Constitution, and only by sheer happenstance, helped the American people.
The FBI has extraordinary propaganda and they have charmed (buffaloed) many domestic and foreign law enforcement as well as the American people. Look at all the positive entertainment representations of the FBI… How often do you see/hear/read a positive representation of other law enforcement? How many movies/books/shows glorify the “FBI”, please…
Like the story from your DEA friend, the FBI would routinely attempt to claim credit for the arrests and actions/activities of my former agency. Any non-FBI LEO who likes the FBI is automatically suspect and anyone with a kind word for the FBI should be viewed with skepticism. The FBI is too powerful and needs to be disbanded, with their powers distributed to other local/state/federal agencies. Way too much power there and it attracts too many people seeking to wield that power.
I could go on and on… the FBI is not a friend of the American people and an extremely dangerous Pretorian Guard of the elite.
The IRS recruitment add mentioning deadly force has been withdrawn. Talk about attracting certain kinds of people. Regarding the FBI raid, I think it improves Trump’s credibility concerning Jan. 6, given the fact that the FBI was involved.
Maybe the raid will wake some politicians up and light a fire under them.
But probably not….
Exactly as I imagined. A local policeman told me with disdain oh no they couldn’t be bothered with something like you mentioned. Now they are into palace politics. They need to be taken down a few notches. It was a bad mistake putting them in charge of national security now they are all 007s jetting to Nairobi to catch Osama Bin Ladens in night clubs. And many are as woke as it is possible to be. Seeds of their destruction are their D&I woke hiring. They will get more and more highly woke politicized but incompetent special agents. Like Idi Amins secret service. China and Russia have no worries. However it is worse for the normal population.
From what I hear, Trump never was given a copy of the warrant. If so, was that because they don’t want to shiw what they were looking for?
That action will only spread the disease….
Non-concur…
Protecting his principals is his number one priority, as they [directly] affect his well-being and prosperity.
Who are his principals.
The judge Bruce Rheinhart is a woke liberal who hates Trump. This is worth looking at (it has his facebook posts). https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2022/08/10/facebook-posts-reveal-epstein-linked-magistrate-bruce-reinharts-woke-anti-trump-attitudes/
It was a mistake tasking the FBI with national security it has gone to their heads — they all imagine they will be jetting to Nairobi to catch Osama Bin Ladens in night clubs. Mostly they are talentless D&I college millennials with an attitude. As my little nephew would say they think they are bad. The Chinese and Russians have nothing to worry about.
One of their new directors stated their goal was to prevent the Chinese from getting AI and quantum computer secrets. Since both of these are over hyped vapor ware all these agents will show is how dumb they are when they start quizzing people. Quantum computers will never happen they require keeping track of too many (billions) of variables and have no way to check the data. The originator of the idea said he did it as a joke. He was a professor in the 1970s at MIT. AI is simply refining the either or and not (logical junctures) weighting based on outcomes. And refining data pools it is not a sentient undertaking and never will be in our life times. Both terms generate money in IPOs. And promotions in the FBI and military.
18:30 hours is when we’re told FBI wrapped up.
What’s interesting is that Trump took total control of the messaging immediately.
Perhaps FBI wanted things hush hush, saying this is no big deal, we were forced by higher ups to get the warrant, to do things this way, “by the book”, blah blah blah; and may have been led to believe Trump too would keep a lid on it.
Now Trump is the top story far and wide — exactly what Democrats would have wanted to avoid.
And, worse for them, Trump is largely seen as victim here by all but the Neurotics whose ability to think, reason and glean reality is at least, for time being, interrupted by Trump Derangement Syndrome.
The “beauty” of TDS is those afflicted with it don’t see they have it, and so the rest of us thus think less and less of these, as it were, functional idiots — in big government, big tech, big media and so on and so forth.
And, lets not forget, the image of FBI rummaging through Melania’s hosiery, and other apparel worn directly on skin—-only creates impression of FBI agents as perverts and creeps!
And so, this theory also suggests Garland would have found out about it via directly from Trump himself, as was reported by news, forced to rely on him for this great scoop.
HA HA HA.
And so Garland is caught flat footed, ditto Wray, the White House. . . .
And today Rand Paul mentioned that if Republicans are in control of House and Senate, Paul said Garland should face impeachment and should be removed as AG.
Marco Rubio, for first time in my life, on Hannity last night, appeared somewhat frightened by the audacity of what happened, and gave his best five minute interview I’ve ever seen from him.
He spoke in terms of actual morality, of right and wrong, and the utter perfidy and recklessness and heinousness and moral turpitude of the FBI and DOJ.
Fact the CNN now all of a sudden wants to call this, instead of a raid, to call it a magistrate approved whatever.
This fact suggest possibility it wasn’t supposed to be what it turned out to be in the media. . . but that horse already left the barn, bro.
And so CNN is caught in their own web of deceit and dishonesty, after first reporting it as raid, and now trying to walk this back. . . — too late boys and girls. You look even more foolish trying to walk this back.
Also, worth mentioning that European leaders were frightened by Pelosi’s utter and craven recklessness last week trespassing in Taiwan.
Add to this, the Biden administration raiding the Trump private home. . . this makes Europeans even more frightened of the Biden Administration, it would seem to me.
Put another way: social capital of US government in the eyes of Europe: plummeted in these past eight days.
And the Andrew Yang political barometer says thus:
Aug 9, 2022
I’m no Trump fan. I want him as far away from the White House as possible. But a fundamental part of his appeal has been that it’s him against a corrupt government establishment. This raid strengthens that case for millions of Americans who will see this as unjust persecution.
https://twitter.com/AndrewYang/status/1556989150687072256
-30-
So who do you want in the White House?
Well, well, well ! This is a gold nugget, of yuge significance. The whole thing now looks like a Trump gotcha. What a screamer this could turn out to be.
Let’s see…..
Impeachment x2 no show
Russia Russia no Russia
Jan6 cluster “F” nothing burger
The Florida sting
Kremlin victory parade
No Taiwanese take away for you Nancy pants. (too many visuals)
The curtains go down as,
Illegal immigrants deployed to the DC Dementia Unit as, “food tasters.”
Larry more information, just for laughs, or tears.
Good one!
The idea that Trump bated the FBI into a raid is a long shot but I have to admit I thought the same thing. The line that they though this would be a “low profile raid” is absolute insanity of the organizational leadership of the FBI if true.
The Epstein connection with the judge is troubling as well as his Facebook posts. It looks to me like he jumped into the Epstein camp to tamp down any connections to the country of his religious affiliation in the Mideast region that was running the blackmail operation. An on call operative for that government’s intelligence agency. They have many from all walks of like that help when needed.
Even if they found one document Trump should not have had they would have to follow through with prosecution which will create immense political turmoil over a long period of time going into the 2024 election cycle.
The state of affairs in the Administration would not allow for a plea bargain, they would go all the way to attempt to disqualify Trump in 2024. They know the polling and they know how bad it is for them.
We are being led into a epic train wreck. Losing power is a bitch on both sides. Obviously they cannot suck it up and move on to fight another day.
Play fair and square? Never. Do I want to be led by these people? Hell no!
Supposedly they were already given access to the documents a few months ago.
Who are “both sides”? The Commie Dems and Uniparty Pubs are one in the same. They control all the Levers. I don’t see two sides.
Losing power is a bitch for both sides Republicans and Democrats but the Republicans do handle it much better. The Commie Dem Marxists will kill their allies in the Uniparty on the other side once they gain enough power. It is always in their playbook.
Some decent average people are rising up yet. There may be some hope on the horizon and this is why the Marxists are fighting the counterrevolution so hard with the levers of government they have at their disposal.
The economic realities of FBI recruitment do much to explain the behavior of the agency. To wit, the optimal recruit is either a non-practicing attorney, CPA or other professional that enters the Agency at a young enough age that he/she/it can rise through the ranks to attain some degree of recompense; namely by trading in on his/her/its status and title in not-so-private industry or some podunk police department. Said agent is not expected to, nor is it desired that said non LEO profession be actually practiced before becoming a Fiby, as there won’t be enough time to advance through the Byzantine rank structure. So we have agents with expensive degrees, high debt loads and expanded egos being sent to garden spots like McAllen TX on LEO 10 level salaries fighting tooth and nail to advance to higher profile postings which will nonetheless put them further in the red due to higher costs (which are in no way properly compensated). We therefore have to ask what kind of person signs on for such a job. We might notice the present leadership and say ‘Power’. We might notice how many former Fibys end up in corporate security (to include such cesspools as gaming) and conclude ‘Money’, though we doubt that a well earning tax attorney would make less that a corporate shill. And the network of former special agents that get into small town police departments as chiefs ought to be noted as well. We might conclude that the Feds recruit for a certain kind of tool
Add to that type of manipulative unsuccessful yuppie hordes of dumb D&I recruits. The FBI web sit in Colorado is always advertising recruiting drives for females and diverse candidates. The local paper showed the picture of a “black” (octaroon type) computer science graduate who was just hired by the FBI. The thing is these people are not competent at doing what we need them to do — hunting down CCP technology spies in academia and else where. They get the least bright qualified STEM types with the rigid adherence to diversity. Highly qualified in angry woke agendas is all. It shows the FBI is going after quantum computer secrets. Quantum computers are a myth and hype. They will never happen they require keeping tabs on millions of variables and there is no way to check sum. The professor at MIT who bandied the idea in the 1970s said he did it as a joke. It is a buzz word useful in ripping off the Pentagon and in IPOs. That and AI another hyped rip off which is nothing more than feedback weighting and data sorting which has always been around. There are lots of posts on both frauds.
TONTON Macoutes
Yes, Taibbi nailed it with that characterization.
When have I heard that before?
Oh, yeah. In the aftermath of the election, when he was always just a week away from presenting the ultimate evidence that the election was rigged and that he had laid them a trap.
Count me sceptical about his genius, and that’s from someone who does indeed think that he won.
Surely the key fact is the coming Congress and Senate elections that will pass control of the “Inquisitions” to the republicans. That puts a lot of time pressure on current investigations.
Raiding Trump suggests they have nothing else to go on.
(But yes a Trump bait makes sense)
Where was this 4-D chess when the man was POTUS? Then again, maybe there are still a few good guys in the FBI in cahoots with The Don. They’re good at frameups.
The fact that it occurred on a Monday, when it could ostensibly control the MSM narrative for a week, is significant.
It would be worthwhile for many bikers to take a tour of Brandon Falls.
Yeah we were raised thru the glorious Hollywood narrative of the FBI with flicks like Silence of the lambs. As an European I always thought this was a top notch agency willing to protect US citizens… I got my own reality check.
Now, I would include all Western police forces in this new story telling. Remember that we got cops checking restaurants for covid passes with automatic rifles. And France has just announced that 30 000 newcomers would assist the cops after a week training with handguns.
If so, I hope Pres Trump has Act 2 ready to roll, because, per Intel Slava, Dementia Joe plans to distract from this latest snafu by sending Navy warships through Taiwan Strait. Not the RR aircraft carrier, though, which would be “too provocative.”
Appreciate this article and background! Regarding this issue: Simple to me… between the Ukraine & Taiwan/Pelosi horrible results, the “news cycle” needed an abrupt change. So in comes “populist” Trump. I’ll go even further in saying, I don’t think they was even an actual “raid”… where is the footage?? Remember Dershowitz & that idiot CNN thing? You’d think with Trump, they’d have an entire fleet of “reporters” in there watching the FBI crack the safe. Nah… the fake DC “divided”/ unison party just hauls out whatever tools of the day they get desperate for. There’s a united effort, both foreign & domestic that wants to Balkanize the US, wants to get rid of that pesky Constitution & Bill of Rights by Balkanization and selling off territories. Trumps just a populist tool in the shed, like Bernie Sanders used to be that also we’re all fake. I’m not saying these Mafia “families” aren’t actually warring over territory and power at the moment, but when it comes to the destruction of the US Republic… they’ll quickly aid and move along the agenda. Anyways, just my opinion. There was no raid.
How many articles do you comment on simultaneously?
Mr Trump, you have the right to remain silent. Please consider it.
Trump is fighting with few weapons, laying a little trap for them is not going to stop them. I have experienced this before, it is familiar to me.
Abusing your patience I write, here a classic Coup d’état is being plotted: It is like the lightning that is not seen and the thunder that is not heard.
For Lenin, the revolution consisted of millions of men and women taking to the streets of St. Petersburg (a goal achieved in the cities of America). Trotsky, for his part, believed that a thousand men, conveniently chosen and prepared, were enough to seize power (an objective achieved in key positions in the Deep State) Lenin was an ideologue (Wokeism); Trotsky a technician (oligarchic elites) For the former, insurrection was an art; for the second, a machine that only an engineer could start and stop.
I’m going to have to dust off Techniques of a coup, Curzio Malaparte.
Larry,
With the dismembering of the various federal policing agencies because of i.e malfeasance, corruption, political ideology, glory, violating oaths.
It’s a little to late to arrange the deck chairs on a sinking ship.
I was wondering why the Dems were starting Trump’s Presidential media campaign so early.
That fact there was NO press conference to explain their actions in raiding the residence of an ex-President is both very telling and INCREDIBLE!
Did Donny the Conman send Merrick footage of Eph bee eye agents frolicking on Corruptstein Island?
I shall bite.
There is evidence, discussed by Dutch documentary maker Gideon Levy (not to be confused with another writer by that name) that the CIA stole the timer from the Swiss company, and placed it at the Lockerbie site, to which they should not have had access. They made one mistake—the model of the timer that they stole (and the company caught the CIA thief) was not the same model as was supplied by the company to Libya. Oops. Then again, considering that Thurmann declined to be interviewed by Levy, that is not too surprising, much as it is not surprising that said Dutch documentary is no longer available online. Cherthoff and Mueller joking at the memorial service, in that Dutch documentary is also rather telling.
It is also telling that the ICTRY prosecutorial misconduct pattern of whimsical modification during the trial of the indictment was also seen there. But what is additionally amazing is that the *judges* (sic—not prosecutors) changed the indictment at the end. It is not perjury when an officer of the court does it.
Likewise, as with the ICTRY, fake evidence provided by intelligence services (including but not limited to the CIA, who I take it assisted Kagame in assassinating Chris Black’s Rwandan investigator, and was also in the habit of making death threats against Black—much as Herman Cohen had made against Habyarimana a few days before the latter’s assassination—after all, Black had shown in court that the Dallaire Genocide Fax, as promoted by Gourevitch and as entered into evidence by the CIA run prosecutor, was a fake sent to UN headquarters from a British military base in 1995) were the basis of the conviction against Megrahi.
Former CIA agent Robert Baer also had some colorful comments about the official version. Then again, it is clear that Gideon Levy is mocking the FBI, CIA et alia agents when he asks them “Can you promise to tell me the truth, your truth?” thereby comparing them to the suborned perjurers of the prosecution at the ICTRY—the phrase was commonly used by prosecution perjurers at the Military II trial under cross examination in their long winded (defence cross examination time consuming) dodges of cross examination questions. The transcripts are available online, for now.
Other funnies: according to Richard Marquis of the FBI, Scottish prosecutors did interview suspiciously released triple agent(PFLP-GC/CIA/Jordanian Mukhabarat)/PFLP-GC bomb maker Khreesat, while according to Lord Fraser, they did not. Unfortunately, my copy of the documentary is corrupted near the middle, and I don’t have time to restore it right now…
Someone re-uploaded the documentary
https://youtube.com/watch?v=NaT_L4kfy0U
I have now had time to rewatch the documentary (the last time was several years ago). It is not in the documentary that the stolen timer is the wrong type, but from the company. Some references:

The subornation of the owner of the company is also interesting, and again representative of the ICTRY/ICTR/ICTY ad hoc tribunals.
Please tell us more about Ulrich Lumpert, Dieter Neupert, and Thurman’s qualifications and chain of custody.
Sorry this was ill-tempered of me. It took your website a while to load the new comments, and I made inappropriate conclusions.
How refreshing a honest apology.
A true sign of culture. Let’s hope we can all live up to your high standards. I have made it a lifetime priority. Stuff up something AND admit l was wrong to my line manager. Easy Peasy, no trouble just respect.
Have a happy day SKADEVREUGDE
I think the fact that the hired help left the security cameras record, even after being ordered to shut them down, bolsters your theory. And now he really has something on them. And apparently the FBI is doing everything in their power to get that footage,
Makes sense. This raid has given Trump an excellent clear and simple point, demonstrating the power, corruption and danger of the deep state. “If they can do this to me, imagine what they can do to you, no one is safe”. Great material for president Trump’s campaign.
I agree with disbanding the FBI but sending all the people from one corrupt bloated agency to another, not sure how that solves our problem.
Just to add to the speculation here, Rick Wilson, a total a$$____, speculates that kushner was the mole who tipped off the fbi. Wilson, from the totally discredited Lincoln group.
Curious as to whether trump is really playing this, he must have copies of the doc’s that were taken. If not, ???…….
Larry, I just made my very first blog post on Substack. (It’s blocked on my work computer. I’ll post a link in a ‘reply’ comment later, in case you’re interested. I think you’ll find it well-written though not especially insightful.)
Color me envious: The idea Trump baited FBI into this raid had not occurred to me. I would love to believe that’s what’s going on. It seems to be the simplest explanation that fits the facts that we know right now. But there are other possible explanations too. We’ll just have to watch and wait. And as others have asked, where is the video?
I’d like to see FBI and CIA both disbanded. It’s plain the Kremlin is a big black box to CIA, and that any ‘assets’ they have there have been assigned by Putin to tell CIA exactly what VVP wants them to hear. All they do any more is run domestic psy-ops. That’s not what we pay ’em for.
My fear (indeed my belief) is that the post 9/11 security state’s ‘salami strategy’ – a little slice off our liberties, then a little slice off our privacy, then another and another, til we have too little freedom and privacy left even to safely organize a resistance – has progressed too far to be corrected by ordinary political processes. I certainly don’t think even a GOP congress will have the will or even the ability existentially to threaten FBI.
Garland just claimed, in a very brief statement at just after 15:00 today — that he “personally approved” “request” for search warrant.
He said it is Trump’s “right” to discuss it.
Garland spent most of his three minutes doing the FBI director Chris Wray’s “oh us poor and persecuted” federal agents “being attacked” and how it is wrong to attack these hard working ladies and gents who are only trying to keep us safe from harm, etc. etc.
Garland refused to take questions.
He says the DOJ really only speaks through its court filings. And said information on the Aug. 8, 2022 raid on Trump’s Florida home is being unsealed right at this moment, Garland said.
Garland did not call it a raid.
He inferred this is a criminal process.
And so one of the executioners of gross injustice against Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn — the former appeals judge Garland, in his refusing to order Judge Emmet Sullivan to end the Flynn prosecution — has spoken.
Garland appeared nervous; and though he spoke clearly, he lacked conviction, he lacked confidence, and his refusal to take questions demonstrate he has a lot to worry about — and has no good answers at this time.
He practically admitted he would not have been standing there today, had Trump not spilled the beans — now three days ago. Where was Garland the evening of Aug. 8?
But since this is a matter of great “public interest” Garland said he needed to clarify a couple of things — that is to say: to echo Wray’s unctuous propaganda that federal agents are under attack. Guess what: if you were actually not being corrupt in the first place, there would be no need for Wray to create such spin, and no need for Garland to amplify this spin. This is the reason Garland said anything today: create or try to create impression the losers he supervisors are not actually corrupt.
Perhaps he actually is worried he may be removed from office, depending on what voters choose come November.
-30-
It looks like he was ordered to take the fall rather than Wray. I would note that as of today not a signle client of Epstein and Maxwell’s criminal pedophile ring have been arrested by the FBI or charged by the DOJ. One has to wonder why.
The raid was clearly timed for when he was not around, just after his ex wife’s passing. No one in family seemed to be around.
My guess is the delay announcing raid was due to confusion over what was happening and lack of knowledge over what was happening as well as legal advice.
The message Trump put out on Truth Social looks like a legally reviewed message and he has taken the 5th.
I don’t think we have the who story yet.
I would doubt it was a bait. I think they are quite shocked and have clearly taken legal advice and are speaking within that advice.
Note Trump Jr silence.
Considering what the FBI, especially under Edgar Hoover, did to Black Civil Rights Movements, including but not limited to COINTELPRO, it’s difficult to call the FBI respectable, non-partisan, and non-political.
To many, the FBI has always been a Tool of the American Establishment.
Maybe people get angry today because the organization is doing to decent White Folks what it has always done to Black People.
However, I do agree with those who think that the raid on Mr. Trump’s property set a very bad precedent. It forever destroyed the mystique surrounding the office of the POTUS.
Mr. Johnson,
Have you considered that the relative opposite is true, i.e. that this was an attempt by DOJ to bait a maga crowd into misbehaving at Mar a lago? Just consider that if Trump had blasted that Mar a lago was “under attack” a crowd of supporters forms at the gate (you know they would) and then with the FBI doing their (since 1960’s) tried and true infiltrate and incite routine, identical to Jan 6, kick off a riot of sorts? This theory would explain both the lack of press (I doubt that some corporate media were not on standby) and Trump not putting them on blast early.
Just saying.
Yes. I should have included that as an alternative scenario. Equally plausible.
I’m better it’s a thoroughgoing hoax / deception in service of distracting eyes from Ukraine, Crimea, Nato and Russia. Because that situation is escalating radically: Ongoing shelling of a huge nuclear power complex at Zaporizhzhia despite efforts to bring it before the UN in an emergency meeting. Contemporaneous with expansion into Crimea – Novofederikova airbase hit and explosions at a Belarus airbase.
It makes zero sense for either Russia or Ukraine to shell that complex. Think of the implications of a disaster for both countries, their people, agriculture, the Black sea etc. But Nato, meaning the US and or UK? Yes, that makes perfect sense for them. Psychopathic, criminally insane sense. So I don’t buy the Trump raid story one bit. Playing the US public for suckers. It’s like waving a bag of heroin in front of an addict in withdrawal, given the crazy obsession with that circus. Falling for it lock stock and barrel too.
Re: Trump FBI bait
‘Never Attribute to Malice That Which Is Adequately Explained by Stupidity’
Karl Denninger (Market Ticker) agrees with you and came to the same conclusion buts adds it was a Trump “mole hunt”.
All circus. Which draft-dodger would you prefer was the offer in 2020. They do this stuff for the rubes. That seems to be the ignored basis of your good FBI/bad FBI dilemma. Step back and look again.
Did he bait them? Probably. Will he succeed in stopping them? Nope. It’s being rumored that Garland already has a GJ indictment on Trump. They’ll arrest him in October, Surprise! Then they’ll try him in hyperpartisan DC. And if that doesn’t work, they’ll send his motorcade to Dealey Plaza. They cannot allow him back.
We now know the safe in Trump’s office at Mar-a-lago was empty. The FBI brought in a specialist safecracker and went right for it. Who has an ultra high security safe in their office and keeps nothing in it?
That is a Tell; he knew they were coming.
When they discovered the safe was empty they knew they had been snookered. When they went on to shovel up everything, including newspaper clippings, keepsakes and even ransacked Melania and Barron’s rooms, that was pure unadulterated spite.
Trump could hide documents which incriminate the FBI/DOJ literally anywhere on the planet and they will never find them. He wouldn’t keep them at Mara- a- Lago.
They hate him and I worry. His SS detail can be coopted.
