Let us take Biden at his word (though one can reasonably argue he does not comprehend what he is saying most of the time) — World War III has started. We have not seen a comparable back flip like Biden’s reversal on sending M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine since Nadia Comaneci wowed the World with her performance at the 1976 Olympics.
Will Biden double down and answer President Zelenskyy’s impassioned calls for American-made F-16s? If past performance predicts the future then the answer is yes. But sending F-16s (or any other combat aircraft) to Ukraine is a real problem. Don’t take my word for it. Listen to Professor Justin Bronk, Editor of the RUSI Defence Systems:
First and foremost is the problem of Russia’s dense and highly lethal network of ground-based surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems. The skies over the frontlines in Ukraine are covered by multiple layers of air defence threats from large, long-range systems like the infamous SA-21 ‘Triumf’ (known in Russia as the S-400) to more numerous and mobile medium-range SAMs like the SA-17 ‘Buk’ and short-range SA-15 ‘Tor’.
The US has supplied significant numbers of the AGM-88 High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM) to the UkrAF. . . . but HARM has not come close to removing the threat from Russia’s air defences against Ukrainian jets.
This matters because any western jet that might plausibly be supplied to Ukraine will face the same major threat from Russian SAMs. Even the full might of Nato air power would require a serious campaign at scale to degrade Russia’s integrated air defence systems, and would take losses doing so. . . .
However, in the largely flat terrain of eastern and southern Ukraine there is a limit to how effective terrain masking can be, and in any case flying at very low altitudes would seriously reduce the effectiveness of combat aircraft in many key missions.
https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/why-the-west-is-reluctant-to-give-ukraine-f-16s/
In other words, Ukraine needs the equivalent of the U.S. Air Force if it hopes to weaken Russia on the battlefield. That is not going to happen. If Ukraine succeeds in getting the planes and flying them in combat the most likely outcome is an astronomical cost in terms of air frames and pilots.
The Debbie Downer message is not confined to the Spectator. The Financial Times also is now raising a warning voice about problems ahead:
Financial Times announced the crisis of ammunition supplies in Europe due to the conflict in Ukraine
According to the newspaper, the record demand for ammunition creates a huge burden on the industrial capacities of Europe
The conflict in Ukraine has provoked a significant crisis in the supply of ammunition in Europe, as arms manufacturers seek both to replenish the national stocks of states and to ensure supplies to Kiev.
According to FT, the record demand for ammunition creates a huge burden on the industrial capacities of Europe. According to experts, Ukraine requires more than 5 thousand shells per day, the same amount as a small European state orders annually. Additional pressure on supply chains is created due to a lack of production capacity and a shortage of critical raw materials. In addition, the supply chains disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic have not yet been fully restored.
Morten Brandtseg, CEO of the Norwegian-Finnish defense company Nammo, told the publication that the demand for some components has grown so much that the delivery time to customers has increased from several months to several years. In an attempt to meet the demand and reduce the production and delivery time of ammunition, many companies have increased the number of production shifts and are hiring more employees. German Rheinmetall, in particular, plans to build a new plant in Hungary and restart enterprises that were previously decommissioned.

Let me translate. No matter what the United States and the rest of the NATO countries do to boost production of weapons and ammunition, help is years away.
One more prominent media outlet changes its tune about Ukraine. Moon of Alabama provides an excellent summary of a New York Times reversal in its view of the war in Ukraine, Outnumbered and Worn Out, Ukrainians in East Brace for Russian Assault. You can read it at his site.
What happens if Germany manages to send some Leopard tanks to Ukraine? Knowledgeable critics note that training competent tank crews will require several months before they are ready to drive on to the battlefield. Austrian Colonel Reisner suggested one novel solution to circumvent that problem:
I doubt that the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia had President Zelensky in mind when he wrote Casey Jones, but I think the lyrics of that classic tune fits the moment. There is trouble ahead and trouble behind.
I still think Poland’s jawing is mostly to keep the gravy train going: every piece of equipment or dollar that goes to Ukraine via Poland, the Poles get a slice.
It isn’t clear to me either that the Polish soldiers are interested in fighting Russians; the experiences of the many Polish volunteers (and returning body bags) must surely have apprised them of what that reality would be like.
Ditto Romania and Moldova.
But who knows – stranger things have happened.
What is more interesting is what is happening in Hungary and Serbia. The ultimatum that Serbia has gotten – which the Serbian people are very likely to reject – combined with the purge of pro-NATO officers in Hungary’s military makes for some thought.
Russia needs to take care of the hyena of Europe as Churchill dubbed the place called Poland. Tabakis and hyenas no more!
War, war, war
Larry, looking at the State of the Union is a pathetic look at the pathetic group of silver, red, purple and green haired idiotic feminist freaks that really run things. The men are soft and marginalized. They clap and clap to Biden’s lies, probably to take up time. What a fucking mess they’ve become in Washington. The entire chamber is a train wreck. Back to the future? With this group, there IS no future.
What a shit show.

Best comment I’ve seen in months. There was a recent analysis of SWFs (single white/woke females) I forget where NY Post or some place — they are largest voting block now and are responsible for the red fizzled midterm bust. It doesn’t matter which party wins any more. If only men voted Trump would have easily won 2020 — Obama never held office you have to go back to Lyndon Johnson in 1964 where it would not have flipped the outcome against democrats. Women don’t care that much about country borders and fiscal suicide they want to save all the babies in Africa like Melinda Gates.
They aren’t as smart as men either =
(http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/education/4183166.stm)
‘Men cleverer than women’ claim Academics in the UK claim their research shows that men are more intelligent than women.
D&I assures that 3rd rate people hold every important position in every nook and cranny of our society any more — it explains it all. Look at the marvel who is head of research at Pfizer.
Brad, there are women and women. Look at men – Biden, Hunter, Austin, Paetreas, Milley, Stoltenberg, Scholz, Macron, Blinkin, Lindsey Graham, Boris Johnson, Trudeau, and tons of similar. Look at Zakharova, look at Putin’s Minister of finance – women, but smart women. As a woman, I’m disgusted with Kamala, Sanna and Nuland, Liz Truss, Pelosi, etc. An unscrupulous cretin is the state of mind not gender.
There are women, and then there are Trans-Women. They’ve dominated womens’ sports, and they’re now they’ve taken over the Democrat party. The secret ESG (Evil Satanist Globalists) plan is to use Trans-Women to give corporate boards more female representation while preserving the status quo male sanity. Is it any surprise that Admiral Levine is a re-purposed old White dude?
Agreed
What Lika said
I agree with you, but that inclusion of Lindsey Graham in the list of men… Are you sure?
Lika,
off Topic but you familiar with area around Ogulin ?
Excellent points.
“Academics in the UK spark a new battle of the sexes by claiming that men are more intelligent than women.”
That’s a remarkably meaningless thing to say. More intelligent at what?
Might as well say that the left hemisphere is more intelligent than the right hemisphere.
Just try separating the two & see what you get. It’s academic.

“Women don’t care that much about country borders and fiscal suicide they want to save all the babies in Africa like Melinda Gates.” And yet they are pro-abortion with American babies. LMAO. Go figure.
IQ tests are said to have found the following:
The spread of the Gaussian bell curve representing men’s IQ is more spread out than the IQ bell curve of women.
that means: there are more highly intelligent men than women. But there are dumber men than dumbest women. It is not without reason that the Darwin Award is more often given to men. Of course, this not only has to do with the IQ, but is also due to the fact that men are more willing to take risks.
M. Thatcher, A. Merkel. B. Bhutto, M. Albright, I. Gandhi, C. Rice “green haired idiotic feminist freaks that really run things…” Really?
Ursula von der Leyen, another “feminist”…? Or just another ultra-conservative female “running things” in Europe, and not for the good and making use of the recent quotas for their own benefit …?
Men “soft and marginalized …” sure …
Gimme a break!
The men ARE marginalized. They walk on eggshells up there. A look, a remark, a joke and they’re dead while the women walk and talk with vile, toxic immunity. The women run the day to day on Capitol Hill with fear. It isn’t a coincidence that the dialog on the Hill became so angry, catty and revengie, it was all the Democrat women, the hard core, college-educated feminists. I was up there doing certain work in the Capitol in and out for 25 years 82-2008, I saw it all develop. Hell, saw it develop all over Washington in law firms, the lobbies, the colleges, you name it. It’s a perfect feminist tyranny today. And I don’t wanna hear back that I’m paranoid or hate women, which is nonsensical. The clawing of all sorts of privilege is a process that never ends and the men say nothing, they don’t dare..
Another factor? These folks never retire. What’s the average age up there, 70-75? Why retire? Dying in Congressional office is the best pension plan there is. Every need taken care of from meals to medical to transportation and the commute, money running out of every professional orifice. Retiring means going back home and having to take care of yourself, most of them for the first time in thirty or more years. And they LOOK so aged and tired, most of their aids, too. The freaky hair coloring, even uglier. And so yes, soft and marginalized, the men, haggard and witch-like, the women. Sorry, it’s a place I know and it just gets better and better every year: witness The Squad and their 5-woman screech-fest when Omar was removed from Foreign Affairs by the Republicans, a rational and routine occurrence anytime the House changes hand. Bleating sheep. Look it up.
All due respect. My take, your mileage MAY vary.
Dear Sir,
I think I would agree on the “these folks never retire”. However, I would add the men, too!
And, yes, they look aged and tired… and they do not care about the hard-working, average citizen, like the popes in Medieval Europe ( we did not have “college-educated feminists” back then…), a true all-male gerontocracy.
On the “soft-and-marginalized-men” issue, I cannot see Mr. President Biden as a softie. The fact that he is no longer in his prime does not make him weak. Actually, he has been quite the warmonger his entirely life!
Respectfully. Best wishes.
They’re all a bunch of cucks
No doubt about it
Hello!
You don’t have feminist goverment.
You have sectarians goverment – this is closer to the truth.
I think, if you had no problems with fat people, black people and woman, you goverment could find redhead rights issues. Or very tall people rights issues. Or very short. Or people with thick eyebrows.
It doesn’t matter for who rights they will fight (even noone asked), they just need two things – make money. And make people hate each other.
Divide et impera – works for social too.
Hello from Russia and thanks very much, Larry, for your blog! Your blog is a ray of light in the darkness of hate!
I don’t think even this is going to happen. In the SOTU he spent the first 30 minutes stealing the MAGA agenda and 2 minutes on Ukraine.
It’s over
The State of the Union in 2023 reminded me of the XXIV Communist Party Forum in the USSR: the geriatric leader mumbling through his speech, the Politburo jumping up to a standing ovation every 10 minutes, and it is Putin and not his own dumb sanctions disrupted the world energy supplies, and a heartfelt that a “paycheck is much more than a paycheck,” – no kidding just ask Hunter! And he is “just getting started” which is the scariest part!
We need a third major party. The party of “normals” – not the walking corpses and corrupt degenerated daddy-the-dearests, but decent, smart people who want to do good for the people of this country and can really put America first.
I had not thought of that but you’re exactly right.
Decent, smart people in politics are outliers these days.
Decent, smart people are looking for productive work that isn’t suffocated by politics and regulatory horror. Good luck with that. A lot of them are small scale farming, I’d wager.
Sorry, but America hasn’t done anything for the last 70 years EXCEPT put itself “First”… it’s time all of Western narcissists start thinking of ways to get along with other humans. Or come under the yolk of foreigners who’ll stomp the narcissism out of the Western culture. “America First!”… as if that’s some new idea… what a flipping joke been played on y’all, and you’ve fallen hook line and sinker… go MAGA… lol
Depends on what you mean by America.
If America is just a collection of institutions, designed to siphon off wealth from every place on Earth, then yes, ‘America First.’
If America is We the People, all you need to do is look at the open air drug markets in our former industrial heartlands to know that in fact, America is LAST.
Damn straight go MAGA. Frankly, an America that focuses on its own problems instead of being up in everyone else’s business is your only hope.
The RoW (rest of the world) should build a wall around America and forbid anyone to get out until until they sorted their shit once and for all.
The American Dream had the potential to be something really positive, prosperous and advanced to all mankind, instead the planet now has to deal with some horrendous murderous monsters.
It all ended with Kennedy and with MLK, each with a bullet in their head.
“How dare those men have Dreams?, we have a Nightmare to pursue!”
The so called American Dream has always been the nightmare of property over all, unbridled empire and arrogant exceptionalism. The dumb show for the rubes, about freedom and liberty for “all,” has just been so much happy horseshit to keep us mopes slaving at powering the real economy to make the main thrust happen. Ask MGen Smedley Butler how it works… and has worked, for centuries.
Russians are apparently revising their national nuclear policy to draw some new brighter and harsher lines that the effing neocons and New People of the Woke will happily violate, certain that the Russians will once again blink because they think global suicide is to be avoided. People who connect a deadman switch, Perimeter, to their nuclear and conventional strategic weapons, are damn serious.

I managed to dodge the paywall and read the Nude Fork Crimes piece. Right at the end they obligatorily had to say that 200000 Russian soldiers had been killed. Otherwise, just like any Western article
criticising the blood soaked war criminal Barack Hussein Obama’s policy of arming headchoppers in Syria had to compulsorily include a reference to “Assad’s chemical weapons attacks”, the article couldn’t have been published at all.
Americans to this day have no clue what Obama did to Syria. No idea about Timber Sycamore. Most think he just sat on his hands, that he “didn’t do enough”.
Great article which I have shared on twitter and elsewhere.
Abrams tanks? A joke. Totally unsuitable for the Ukraine, just nice juicy $10 million targets. F16s? If Taiwanese experience is in any way indicative, the F16 is in no way comparable to an Su35, or even Su30. https://eurasiantimes.com/su-35-fighter-jets-prove-their-taiwanese-f-16/ As Larry points out Russian AD is layered and very effective. The f16 costs between 12.7 and 80 million dollars. Let’s just say $30,000,000. That’s a lot of money to throw away.
This is military bling.
Who benefits? The Defense Industry, of course.

yu could make the f16`s into drones and fly them into combat that way from poland. they started making experiments with using the f16 as a drone back in 2013. that way no pilots are in danger . since they are being used as target practice for the american military anyway; yu could let the russians do the same and according to the usa way of thinking they could cause some damage and aid in the technology development as the us air force goes pilotless in the future which i think is their intent.
https://www.popularmechanics.com/military/aviation/a29847417/f-16-drone/
The Air Force is retiring F-16 fighters as the F-35 fighter comes on-line.
The F-16s are stored at “The Boneyard” in Arizona.
About thirty F-16s a year are brought out of storage to become remote-controlled aircraft.

All wars are about hegemony and for that about power and of course wealth/money. The one that controls everything and gets free money simply by extortion of the weaker ones. Trump was complaining about bad deals for the US and that he wanted to change that. Well the deals were Ok, but as an hegemon you can do better, so screw the other side.
One way or another, it doesn’t really matter how we try to see things in detail. By simple abstraction it is about who can profit how from others.
For a moment I thought I saw Leonid Brezhnev talking….
As we used to say back home – you can “multiply that speech by zero”.
On a different note – Mexico and south is starting to look so good. And that’s sayin’ somethin’. If you cannot leave, at least start buying silver and gold coins, they will be needed.
You’re right. Mexico looked so good that we retired to the Yucatan eleven years ago. Like any country, it has its problems, but I get up every morning truly happy to be in a place whose head is screwed on straight vis-a-vis the rest of the world. Here one can discuss Russia with people who haven’t grown up being programmed against it, and, as in so much of the world, Putin is widely admired. It’s like breathing free.
All is not well in the Weimar Republic, I wonder how many demons are assigned to each of these meat puppets with a hook in their jaw.
Where would the Ukrainians even keep the F-16s? In a barn? Russia would crater any useable runways and destroy the jets before they even get weapons loaded. If they launch from a 3rd country (Poland, Romania) then ww3 will be in full swing.
The only way they can be used is to launch from Polandistani airports, where they’ll be serviced by NATO ground crew (and more likely than not flown by NATOstanis in Ukranazistani uniform), and only fly into Ukranazistan airspace far enough to launch missiles towards Russian forces, after which they’ll dive back into Polandistan airspace. The official claim will be that if Russian missiles shoot them down inside Polandistani territory then it’s an attack on NATO, and the hope will be that this will deter Russia from firing on them.
I very much doubt that Russia will be willing to respond to that tactic with WWIII.
**Not** a attack on Nato, if they are shot down over Poland. If a Nato country is involved in a conflict and gets slapped silly, they cannot ask for protection or state that Nato was attacked. Nato only works if they are attacked unprovoked. This was already stated last year by Stoltenberg. Poland is doing things **on its own**, Nato is not part of that conflict, sames goes for every other country. So if Poland gets their F16 shot down, it will be their own problem and they cannot come crying for help from Nato. They probably will, but that is a different story then.
That is of course the **official** version. Everyone knows Nato is waging a war against Russia. At some point someone is going to be slapped silly. Nato itself is to afraid to face Russia in my opinion. That is why they play dirty and can walk away any moment. Someone else will be holding the bag. Poland has made that mistake once. They are fit to do it again.
How precious that you imagine NATOstan won’t just make up rules as suit them.
@Biswapriya Purkayastha
What does NATO making up rules have anything to do with Poland? In your scenario NATO will likely help Poland no matter what anyway and there’s no rule-twisting whatsoever required for that (it’s simple — US will just order its European colonies to help Poland anyway)
Why don’t let Poland do something now? Seems to me Nato doesn’t want a direct war with Russia. Do you remember the statement of the polish president while he fell for that prank call? He doesn’t want a war with Russia too. No one wants a war with Russia, because they are all afraid to be destroyed.
They all fear Russia because they know exactly that they have ZERO chance for victory. Whoever makes that stupid mistake will have to hold the bag ALONE. Nato has ZERO obligation to step in. They can if they like to, but they won’t. Nato is not defensive, never was. Nato is an offensive military body (paper tiger if you will) to intimidate global powers and to push around mostly defenses countries. Nato should have been dissolved long ago. They will not survive this conflict. WW3 is already happening and Nato is already running out of weapons and ammunition. Talking about countering China is a total joke too. Nato is good in making up RP, but lacks in everything else in reality.
Sorry Bis, I dont agree at all. Russia made very clear in Syria (and it applies here as well). Any aircraft that attacks Russian forces is fair game, and importantly, so is the base from which it operates.
russia will assess the situation. If they trust their air defenses to deal with the attack they use that.If they determine their AD cannot, kiss all nearby air fields goodbye and fuck your article 5.Russia will not tolerate the prospect of loosing air dominance in Ukraine period.
No to break perfectly good runways.
F-16 Viper v R-37 Vympel?
No contest.
That is wild. Tech info on R-37 Vympel
https://www.worldtekhno.com/check-the-sophistication-of-russias-r-37m-vympel-hypersonic-missile/
Mr. Martyanov was describing the RN37 the other day at Smoothiex12.blogspot.com, this missile is a mean motor scooter. Well, if it makes you feel better, we still have the AIM9Sidewinger, circa 1970. And at only $500,000 each, it can DEVASTATE a balloon. Why they didn’t hit it with guns is beyond me
Exactly. Nato and US are in panic-mode and also all pretty busy with PR, so they don’t care too much about how the situation will be for Ukraine. They have many excuses to blame the outcome on someone/something else, when it won’t work again as they thought it would.
Ukraine has lost this conflict long time ago. Zelensky was stupid to attack the breakaway regions. He will pay for his crimes. Tribunals will be held again.
F-16’s in Ukraine would be toast as soon as they met the Russian air defense network. Lets not forget the only SAM system to ever shoot down one of our vaunted F-117 stealth fighters was an old Soviet system during the bombing of Serbia by NATO. Actually they hit a second one also but it limped back to base. Going up against a modern Russian layered air defense system in an F-16 would be suicide.
F-16 v R-37
Game over, man!
Russian doomers are understandably distraught. Vineyard of the Saker is shutting down due to the founder’s certitude DC pinheads can’t reverse course and this will inevitably escalate all the way. But I’m seeing cracks in the dam, including the ones you posted in this piece. If the FT & NYT are finally starting to make some sense, there is hope.
This will be one of the most difficult turds to polish in the western spin machine’s history. But I sense they’re gearing up for it. Being 180° wrong and later claiming they were right, but in some new way, has become a pro forma exercise at this point.
The wildcards remaining are CIA and MI6 trying to regime change Putin, Petraeus getting his coalition of the willing including some NATO forces, and whether there is a scramble for old territory in the western Ukranian rump state. Those are some western wildcards anyway.
But as always, the enemy gets a vote. A year of howling for regime change, destroying the Russian economy, collective punishment of Russians generally, “decolonization,” and “denuclearization” might come back to bite us. Putin, having assembled a massive war machine, knowing the collective West is untrustworthy in negotiations, now has to decide how far West he needs to go.
Raevsky has been on a downhill slope since last summer. I think he has both physical and psychological problems, perhaps religion related. In all probability he would’ve shut down his site anyway.
Seriously? Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean someone is’nt out to get you.Raevsky is totally justified in being fearful of a government of his adopted country. This country routinely suspends Habeus Corpus for people who were born here,Constitution be damned!
I’m not positive he’s wrong. But to go from Kiev will win fairly quickly and Putin will be deposed in March 2022, through touting the victorious NATO Fall offensive for months, to describing a tough slog for Kiev to hang on now does show movement in the media outlets the western establishment uses as mouthpieces.
I can’t even imagine the cognitive dissonance in people who take our big media seriously.
Hi Larry,
What have you heard re the Ukrainians using nerve gas? Seen some horrific vids on telegram.
I’ve seen the reports. Appear to be legit. Ukies have crossed a dangerous line.
Jihadi Julian Röpcke:
“It’s Putin’s fault Ukranazistan is using chemical weapons.”
https://nitter.moomoo.me/JulianRoepcke/status/1622708490006396940#m
I note some of the pro Russia people are thinking of rehabilitating Jihadi Julian because he’s a bit less delusional than his fellow nazis.
Don’t.
Place your bets on how the West is gonna complies with it ^^.
Total ignorance on the matter will be first,
then the denial,
then “it’s just teargas”,
then “it’s by no mean a WMD”,
then “it’s only few bad apples”,
then “what other choice do they had ?”,
then we will send all the rest of the old stocks … cause guess where the shit came from to begin with ?
I did not forget the usual projection phase, we will have the now necessary “Russians did it” … I just don’t know where to put it in the list 🙂
I’ve seen this too and I’m sure it’s among the main topics of conversation among Russian commanders both in Donbass and in Moscow. They simply cannot let such a provocation go unanswered. My guess is that they’re now planning to visit a devastating missile strike on western Ukraine, one that will leave no doubt in anyone’s mind about why it happened.
Torture, maiming and execution of Russian PoWs put them so far over the line that I’m not sure gas takes them any further. It almost feels less criminal.
Ukraine was created from the chaos of WW1 and the collapse of the western Russian Empire. Through the Soviet years and then through 2 decades of rule by various Mafias followed by a decade of rule by an overtly criminal organization, the Ukrainian body-politic has been criminalized.
The neo-Nazis may occupy the criminally insane end of the spectrum, but there’s a criminal streak running through Ukrainian society – an expectation and acceptance of criminal behaviour from fellow citizens and government alike in everyday life.
The extreme end has acquired the impunity that comes with having captured state power to act out their fantasies at will, and war removes whatever restrained them in more peaceful times.
The Euroweenies should be very worried that Putin’s “De-Nazification” winds up meaning little more than that the Russians chase the worst of them over the border instead of hunting them down like rabid dogs.
It’s been going on for a while:

Considering the threats by various EU and US military persons and politicians, Russia is clearing the air and laying out its red lines:
“Allow me to share with you the key point, namely the soon-to-be-announced changes to the Russian doctrine on first use of nuclear weapons and their new more precise red lines that have come about from the plans for Russia’s partition and destruction that seem to be aired daily on US television.”
https://gilbertdoctorow.com/2023/02/08/the-coming-existential-threat-do-we-act-in-common-or-is-it-going-to-be-every-man-for-himself/
I wonder, considering the recent history of policies of NATO and its various members: are they capable of really understanding what Russia is willing to do to protect its integrity?
Europe is doomed. Leave them in their own self-made squalor. Go ahead NATO soldiers, take off your uniforms, sign a contract and when you find yourself burning to death in a Leopard tank thank your own stupidity and arrogance.
Germany declares war on Russia. Is there something here we missed in 70 years? Russia now allegedly has 500,000 soldiers armed, trained, provided logistics and coordination to roll through Ukraine to end this insanity and clean the mess up there while the US and NATO continue to purposefully prolong this killing and antagonize Russia.
The Nazis in Kiev are allegedly now using chemical weapons on Russian soldiers. Now what?

Japan’s leadership have completely succumbed to the US after Abe Shinzo’s assassination. Japan is now firmly locked into servitude and obedience to the US. Japan is rearming dedicating over $300 billion to “defend against China and Russia.” Japan lost the Kuril Islands permanently when they joined the US in sanctions against Russia.

Can anyone even fathom this? The Pentagon’s Lloyd Austin chimes in with his conversations with Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Oleksii Reznikov (seriously, listen to these people when there are 257,000 dead Ukrainian soldiers) when Reznikov is now being purged because of corruption. How much money (kickbacks on western aid) does Reznikov have in his Swiss bank account skimmed off US aid?

The final question: Russia, what is your profession?
https://abeldanger.blogspot.com/2023/02/russia-what-is-your-profession.html
mr. Johnson- a few weeks ago i made a comment about nato sending the old 105 mm gunned leopard 1 tank to the ukraine from the ones they had in storage. it looks like they are going to do this know.
maybe more old m113 apcs will go over next since the us military has its replacement actually in production.

The F16s are old aircraft and many are being mothballed and replaced by the F22/F35. It just seems they are happy to get rid of them to be used as cannon fodder. Much like the Tanks they intend on sending. It’s ludicrous
Napoleon had said, “Artillery is the God of war.”
This is mostly on the ground video from Bakhmut. Not bad commentary, what amazes me is the relentless Russian Artillery firing in the background.
Ukrainian’s apparently just abandoning, walking away. A human being can only take so much.
Again listen to the unending Russian barrage..

Of course it is. And if there’s a shortage of pilots, NATOstanis in Ukranazistani uniform will do the flying
I simply can’t get my head around how the NATO bigwigs think that F-16 are going to operate inside Ukrainian airspace.
These things are not designed to operate from improvised runways. Like all western fighter jets they need long concrete runways, and myriad support and supply facilities.
And, so sorry, you can’t hide such airfields. You can’t hide those hangars.
It simply doesn’t matter how good those F-16 are (and I suspect they aren’t going to be a match for a Russian Su-35), the simple fact is that they are going to get wiped out on the ground.
Unless, of course, they operate from Polish airfields.
In that case they’ll manage one, maybe two, sorties and then…. they will get wiped out on the ground. Inside Poland.
It appears that the Powers That Be in the West still haven’t got the message: the Russians are *not* scared of NATO. They are *not* intimidated by Western air power.
They aren’t looking for a fight with NATO. They aren’t looking for a dogfight with the USAF. But neither scenario scares them, for the simple reason that they are confident that they will win.
As do I.
Bigwigs know very well what’s going on. All those men and machines are thrown onto the bonfire in order to burn. Think of it as some big sacrificial ritual that is pleasing the gods (with modern day Olympus being located on the other side of the Atlantic).
Hersh just published the smoking gun of the United States blowing up NordStream with the cooperation of Norway.
It is an act of war against Russia and Germany.

SOTI was usually a declaration of forthcoming intentions to solve all the issues the nation is facing , not an old man yelling at clouds for half an hour.
Yeah the clouds are a thing , thanks, but when will most Americans stop struggling ?
How can a fiscal heaven become a heaven also for those with nothing to taxes ?
Yelling at clouds? Or a balloon?
How America Took Out The Nordstream Pipeline, by Seymour Hersh
https://seymourhersh.substack.com/p/how-america-took-out-the-nord-stream
The main source for the piece opining on President Joe Biden:
“I gotta admit the guy has a pair of balls. He said he was going to do it, and he did.”
Say what you will about a man who shakes the hands of ghosts, he is not afraid to start World Way III.
As a friend of mine used to say, “He’s got the psycho’s edge.”
Like the author Seymour Hersh states at the end of the article. Russia did not respond on Nordstream 1 or 2 yet.
Maybe they are studying how to take down the Undersea Cables from UK to USA and EU.
How many Billions or Trillions of dollars flow between London and NYC 24/7 or London/NYC and EU?
Rather than just raising energy costs in the EU. The communication cables from London to USA to EU would bring down all of the Western Economies to an absolute end immediately.
A much bigger disaster than expensive energy for the EU.
The USD and the American economy would end that day.
Biden. A child playing with matches
Bluffers always suspect the same of others… Putin and XI are not bluffing and this is why conflict is inevitable.. Biden can’t back down without exposing his own inherent feebleness and weakness so he will escalate and double down tell all the chips are on the table.
You see this often in old old people those driven by pride and fear who must preserve the pretenses that they still have it at all cost.. There is no fool like an old fool..
If the US or other NATO countries agreed to send F16s to the UKR today it wouldn’t make any more of a difference than sending MBTs to the UKR today. Like the M1A1, Leopard 2, and Challenger MBTs, F16s would have to be stripped of any equipment or capabilities that would inevitably fall into Russian hands and subsequently become an intel treasure trove for Russian defense engineers. Even the the f**ktards running the NATOstan clown show know that. NATOstan may as well be sending the Ukies bi-planes and go-carts.
Go ahead fight to the last Ukranian…then what. I have never been one to say “I told you so” but when the SMO comes to it’s bloody conclusion (sooner rather than later I pray), I have a list of prior military friends and colleagues that I will respectfully say “I told you so” to–over a couple of beers of course.
The indispensable rulers of the indispensable Nation are merging with their own coming irrelevancy and its a disgusting show of absurdity.
WW3 isn’t so much about other powers rising as a corrupt empire collapsing in upon itself… Grasping at War at external conflict to save what has so clearly rotted away within… War with Russia and China while estranging the majority of humanity will only accelerate the collapse of the Empire faster and so be it…
The common American soul loathes Empire, it Loathes in its nature the very thing its rulers relentlessly yearn for… This is the central essential contradiction was once a motor for relentless expansion yet now it has become a burden.. The American drive for primacy will end with the end of the Empire not America.
We must navigate the treacherous waters ahead carefully. To replace our current ruling class and its corrupted establishment with humbled leaders and renovated institutions that are bound strictly in service to the America people and not Empire will be most difficult..
Did you know that Yeltsin offered Putin 3 times to replace him as President? And Putin refused 3 times. Only on the fourth proposal Putin responded by agreeing to run with a rating at the beginning of the election campaign of 2% !!!. At the same time, Putin refused to take part in the debate because he did not want to make promises that he might not be able to fulfill later.
When Putin said that he worked as a slave on galleys, he was not engaged in posturing. His goal was to build a system of government in which political power is separated from capital, while the oligarchy is a fusion of power and capital.
I want to go back to Jim Christian and his discussion of feminist control.
I delve more and more into fiction, since reality is so awful, now. I recall reading Frank Baum (The Wizard of Oz) in The Land of Oz, where Oz (now with the Scarecrow in charge) is overthrown by an army of feminists. Their leader is Jinjur. she is accused of treason by taking the throne. As Jinjur puts it: “The throne belongs to whoever is able to take it,” answered Jinjur as she slowly ate another caramel, “I have taken it, as you see; so just now I am the Queen, and all who oppose me are guilty of treason.”
Eventually the Scarecrow and the good guys get back the kingdom, and Jinjur and her army are sent back to the kitchen.
I also liked Glinda of Oz, where a dictator is presented. Interestingly, he associates dictatorship with democracy. “I’m the Supreme Dictator of all, and I’m elected once a year. This is a democracy, you know, where the people are allowed to vote for their rulers. A good many others would like to be Supreme Dictator, but I made a law that I am always to count the votes myself, I am always elected.”
As Gore Vidal wrote in his splendid essay on the oz books, “If nothing else, the years that Baum lived in Chicago had left their mark on his political thinking.”
Okay, back to F-16s, tanks, and lions and tigers and bears, oh my.
Very good read by Will Schryver.
A Bird’s Eye View of Ukraine.
https://imetatronink.substack.com/p/a-birds-eye-view-of-ukraine-warhtml
“the supply chains disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic have not yet been fully restored.”
The phony “pandemic” didn’t disrupt anything. It was the (seemingly globally coordinated) decisions made by unelected “health officials” and backed to the hilt by elected leaders to virtually shut down entire societies that collapsed the supply chain.
It was clear to some of us at the time that this insane “cure” would be far worse than the disease. Now we are beginning to understand the full extent of the damage, which goes far beyond mere supply chain issues. The hangover from this stupidity may last a generation. The damage from Big Pharma’s worthless (but highly profitable!) “vaccine” has only begun to be understood.
Right on the mark JUAN. You are wide awake. Most are asleep still.
I’m old enough to remember the US scoffing at the gerentocracy which ran the Soviet Union. What goes around comes around, i guess.
“look at Putin’s Minister of finance (Elvira Nabiullina) – women, but smart women”
Yeah the “smart” gal who let what Russia earnt with oil sleep in Western banks… A meagre 300 billion $ that the Empire seized right after 24/2.
A very smart gal indeed…
My guts tell me she’ll get the axe asap and will be replaced with Sergey Glazyev, who lobbies for a quite different monetary policy for Russia.
Glazyev?
Glazyev is ideologically a “Eurasian”, in solidarity with Dugin, Delyagin, Khazin.
Glazyev is probably a competent economist, a scientist guided by solid formal logic, but a completely useless politician. Glazyev did not prove himself as a statesman.
With his theory of “synergy”, he was going to achieve a synergetic effect in the economy together with Ukraine during the last days of Yanukovych. At the same time, he offered to spend the accumulated financial reserves to support the economy of Ukraine. In Kiev, the Maidan was thundering with might and main, and Glazyev insisted: give Yanukovych money – and pulled Ukraine into the customs union.
Effective governance of the state means maintaining a balance of interests between business, finance, and politics – external and internal.
In this sense, Glazyev is an adventurer. He understands what is good and what is bad in economics and finance, but in his theories, the consequences of recommendations in practice are not obvious.
Dugin and Delyagin know nothing about economics, politics, or public administration, but they know how to reflect on the meaning of life and speak well.
All four have long slipped into propaganda and populism, attracting profane and housewives to their side, they excite society with a chimera of simple solutions (Nabiullina will get an axe) in achieving universal prosperity.
The US is satisfied. It has done what it does best, i.e. trouble making. It’s hard to believe Ukraine was to defeat Russia. Nobody really cares about Ukraine. What is the next US move?
He promised the BBB thing and did not deliver. Now he’s making more unrealistic promises? When will American citizens hold their government accountable?
Just wondering, as the Ukraine war drags, and there is no clear end game to this. Is it reasonable to consider this possibility as an end game?
Later on, a certain Z president gets assassinated.
1) This would lead to a “glorious sacrifice” from Ukraine side, the west will never have to commit people any further, and can “negotiate” with the big R to stop the fight. Meanwhile giving the West more reason to provide countless weapons to Ukraine, and whether Ukraine survives or not, it no longer matters. But the big R country will be forever labelled and sanctioned as per what they hope, without getting directly involved in the war and a big headache to the big R for years to come as Ukraine people will keep fighting and causing trouble.
2) NATO will be strengthened. And just like the Minsk agreement, this would “buy time” for Europe to strengthen itself. Anyway EU, Europe and its economy will be in the control of its master.
3) Based on the recent release, P has committed to not kill any president. This would give reason to claim that P’s words cannot be trusted. All the more to create the tyranny and fear in the other countries.
4) This can greatly hamper any investigation in corruption in a few countries or personnel, as evidence can be said to be gone. It also helps to shift all attention away because the big news will be all around this.
