Please be patient. The software flags some comments and requires that I approve. I was out all day at the gun range supervising some shooters. I did not have a chance to open the dashboard and start the approvals until 10pm my time. Thanks for understanding.
Just curious, is there any rhyme or reason which prompts the software to do the flagging? Anything you know of that we could do to prevent a comment from being flagged, to save you from needing to approve them?
“Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” Galatians 4:16
Yes, Derek, but have in mind all enemies are essentially flaggable.
I should have expanded on the context of my comment, I have a bad habit of posting my thoughts without describing exactly what and whom I was referring to. I wrote this bible verse in reference to Larry being a truth teller and the inevitable backlash he must receive, I imagine there are many troll comments that he has to filter, even death threats.
Here’s how old I am and Larry can relate …
I remember newsgroups and bulletin boards online. Granted,I remember newspaper want ads and stuff like the inspiration for the Pina Colada song.
So, if my reply to a post is delayed or doesn’t go through, no sweat off my back, I don’t get offended or butt hurt.
i agree fully with you texasdude. if what i put out is 2 controversial to the website moderator; since its his platform not a big deal.
You think you’re old, Texas Dude. Im so old that ..
When I first read the novel 1984 in Senior English, it was still set in the future
I distinctly remember watching OJ running away on Live TV .. from linebackers and safeties. that is. I also remember that he was moving faster in his football pads, than in his Ford Bronco
I remember when expressing an anti-MIC point was the height of patriotism and and any response to it was a thing called “MacCarthyism” the worst thing ever to happen in America
I remember when, if you named your son Sue, he’d track you down 30 years later and try to beat the s&#t out of you .. and then write a song about it
Here in South Dakota there’s never been a problem if you named your son Sioux.
I remember BBSs on 300 baud modems….. 🙂
Larry, it makes me feel much more confident that you actually have designed the system to be approved by you than having no one watching the comments.
For me, a retired engineer/executive and regular reader and contributor of comments to your articles, I can wait. I know you have a life and I commend you for having a balance in your life. Best wishes always.
There is no other way. Any comment section without moderation turns into shitshow very fast.
Was it a pistol or long gun range?
Larry, do you like the AAC .300 Blackout caliber on an AR-15 ? Just bought one and plan to hunt with a suppressor and suppressed ammo. Love how quiet the gun is.
‘Out on the gun range all day supervising some shooters. ‘
Sir, may I remind you that Floridians are now Red State protectors of the Constitution.

Very interesting article from Helmer.

And the interview with the historian Chritian Gerlach linked there is also quite interesting.

We confess, we are surprised …
This guy represents the miscalculation of Putin. When he invaded Putin believed that there were enough rational actors left to engage in the sort of thinking General Vad illustrates. Simply stated it is nothing more than the acknowledgment that while there are differences, different national interests, and clear areas for actual conflict, there would also be a rational understanding and acknowledgment of those same factors for the other side. It’s a very transactional and capitalistic way of thinking. We may fight and we may bicker, but in the end we’ll each look to make a deal we can live with.
Instead Putin has found in Washington a puritanical irrationality that not only sees itself in the right but must, to paraphrase Lincoln’s assistant John Hay, put Putin “…in the wrong.” As others have noted, the US side is not driven by a rational concern over national interests, but by an ideological conviction that everything wrong can only be repaired by the elimination of Putin and Russia itself. Demonizing the enemy is a trait of any country during a war, but only in the U.S. since our Civil War do we do it to the extent that we engage in behavior that clearly is antagonistic to our interests. Thus Wilson’s war “…to save Democracy” brought us into what should have been a purely European affair and allowed one side to impose an unfair and destructive peace. Roosevelt’s call for unconditional surrender did more to prop up Hitler as his power was waning and prolong the war in the Pacific than anything else.
So it is now. I despair a bit. I’m not sure that those in charge in the US will settle for anything other than the defeat of Putin and Russia. When it would be in everyone’s interest to come to an understanding recognizing interests and security concerns and make a deal. And of course, Russia has the means to make sure it doesn’t go down in defeat, or at least not without taking the rest of us with it. So, escalation seems to be on the ticket. Both sides are doing it piecemeal. And to my mind, that’s much more dangerous.
And of course, I’m not even going to mention the outsized influence a certain demographic has on US foreign policy that still harbors a grudge against the Romanovs and wishes to punish modern Russia for it.
It’s not enough that dogs win. Cats must also lose.
Hear, hear!
Yeah, what’s up with the Tribe?
It’s not just Blinken and Nuland, it’s right down to the grassroots, too. I know Tribespeaople from both extremes of the US political divide who are utterly united in their unhinged Russophobia.
Our tribal ‘ Friends are ‘unhinged’ about everything and everyone.
Read rhe works of the literary giant, may he rest in peace, Eustace Mullins.
The tribe is horrific. And their ideology should, and needs to be outlawed for there to be peace on earth.
Sorry for the repeats. Maybe if the writer knew that the ‘Post Comment’ button had worked (“message received”) we would bide our time!
Great stuff on this site

A summary of one January day on “failure to serve subpoenas” from the resource “Typical Odessa”:
A resident of the village of Sennoye (Odessa region) – during an on-site raid to COLLECT THE MOBILIZED, he opened warning fire from a hunting rifle in the air, being in his yard. It was not possible to detain the violator, because after the return of the military together with the escort detachment, the violator was not found.
St. A separate unsuccessful attempt to issue a summons to an employee (44 years old) (mechanic of a tractor train) led to an emergency on a dead-end track, where the fleeing mobilized unhooked 8 empty cargo platforms, thereby giving himself the opportunity to escape;
For the 4th time with an interval of several days, the “distributing subpoenas” are trying to get around on the 21st kilometer of the Starokievskoye highway, the workers of one of the “underground workshops”, today there was a serious scuffle, as a result of which 5 military men received moderate and 1 military heavy bodily injuries , while a service weapon was illegally stolen from the platoon commander, though without ammunition;
🇺🇦on Sakharov street, four “subpoena ticket collectors” under the guise of TeNET workers made their way into one of the front high-rise buildings. After that, an ambulance had to be called for two of them, one of whom was immediately sent to the surgical department (previously a PROCTOLOGIST), most likely ALL SUMMARIES FOUND THEIR ADDRESSEE in one “PO box”;
🇺🇦Victory Park (closer to M. Govorov) four “postmen” could not keep up with two athletes, who made the heart of one of the catching up military men “slightly freeze”. I had to call an ambulance from St. Catherine, probably the injured military man was some kind of rank)));
🇺🇦 in the area of the BUS STATION (near Srednyaya St.), a resident of the Nikolaev region sharply reacted with a knife to the issuance of a summons to him not at the place of his registration, as a result of which the violator was detained and the injured military man “lost his face”, everyone is alive;
🇺🇦 in the area of the market POCHATOK (Poskot) “said for the protection of the peasant women” smartly stood up for two residents of the Odessa region selling homemade sausages of their own preparation in the yards of high-rise buildings. As a result, the “ticketers” had to quickly retreat, as a group (eight people) of underage (according to documents) but very impressive sizes of male RELATIVES pulled up to help the women;
🇺🇦 Yuzhny (Odessa region) a young man (27 years old), who did not want to receive a “winning ticket to the next world” decided to sail away from sin away from the “beliterers”, after which he had to call an ambulance for a potential mobilized, due to severe hypothermia;
🇺🇦near the Kulikovo field in the courtyard of a nine-story building, two unknown persons put up serious physical resistance to two “messengers of death”, as a result of which YOUTH won, and the losing “military” side lost a package of their documents and money.

Not everyone seems ready to sacrifice for chief cokehead clown. The “Merchants of death” seem to sometime take casualties, too.

Not quite Gogol.
Dead souls.
Nothing new.
Bless the West.
The quality of mercy is not strained.
Plus,
You are full of Sh*t
I got nothing but time. Only reason I check back is that maybe someone replied. We can disagree, respectfully. And sometimes learn something new. Larry’s pulling 300-plus comments a day. I don’t know how he keeps up without a right-hand to keep things kosher and identify assholes. It works pretty well as is, no apologies necessary.
Here come the Abrams and the Bradleys!
A quick vid of American war fighting hardware disembarking in the Netherlands. Doesn’t look like the intention is hand this stuff over to the Ukies, either. This is apparently, an all-American production!

Note the mobile bridge layer, as if we’re going somewhere! Deep into the heart of Russia, to break that bad boy up, and divide it into sub-sections, to better fascilitate the easy transfer of its immense natural resource wealth into the hands of the lucky few.
The lads at the Duran discussed today the possibility of the US making a quick exit from this Ukraine proxie war, under the established premise, that when the going gets tough, the Americans skedaddle.
But they dismissed it; not out of hand though, it is a scenario that could play out. Oops, sorry Ukraine, we underestimated our abilities, see you later!
But my God, we’ve sold our soul as a nation to win this one. An abject loss for us in Ukraine would be the most embarrassing thing that has happened to a superpower since Carthage was forcibly disappeared from the annals of history by the Romans.
Besides, if we can’t even beat the Russians, a nation that in the late 1990’s had for all intents and purposes, NO DEFENSE BUDGET, what earthly chance do we have against the Chinese?
I understand your sentiment about the US being embarrassed but if that Afghanistan pull out didn’t embarrass the military and country’s leadership……..I don’t think it possible.
In the arena of $USD and ego…..embarrassment is a small price to pay.
That bridge layer is necessary because Abrams is too heavy to drive over small bridges. Without it every creek is insurmountable obstacle. 🙂
Lmao … If the Russians won’t drop the bridges over the Dnieper, the Abrams will, just by trying to cross em.

Same. I’m also from Buffalo, so the Juice was my idol growing up. Still the most aesthetically pleasing athelete I’ve seen on a football field (and that includes Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho the rest of those type folk). Too bad he had to go and ruin his legacy by running away from the cops … for no apparent reason.
I met him twice, and both times he was really nice. The second and last time I was 15, and he asked me as I standing in an autograph line:
“Who are we going to beat this week kid?”
“Well, it ain’t gonna be the the Miami Dolphins Juice.”
And he laughed and said, “Is that who we’re playing? Well then, you’re probably right.”
Larry are you going to another website or staying here? I rememeber story you did a few weeks ago
This is mine. Staying here.
“Im so old that .. I distinctly remember watching OJ running away on Live TV .. from linebackers and safeties.”
Hmmppphh! Why I am so old, I can remember when a pro football game only took an hour and a half out of your day. 🙂
That aside … no-sweaty-dah Larry, I am not sweating non instant publishing of my posts or any posts. I am here more to read your brilliant insights than to post something anyway.
” I can remember when a pro football game only took an hour and a half out of your day. ”
Still does, if you watch the Lionell Messi kind. 😉
I think that if I met Larry in person, we would soon find lots of things to disagree about, but I have been a religious follower of this site since the beginning of the SMO, and that for two reasons: 1) the wonderful analysis that Larry provides; and 2) the comments. I even find myself reading through all the comments on articles of less interest to me, because I never know what insights or information I will pick up.
I imagine that I would not find the comments so compelling if they were not so well moderated. The ones that do make it through are of consistently high quality and by no means do they appear to be weighted in favor of any particular ideology. So if there needs to be a pause in comments to ensure quality, I am all for it.
I’m just happy to be able to post my ideas…. I’m shadow banned from most mainstream outlets….banned non stop from Facebook for anti COVID ideas and now questioning the official narrative on this operation in Ukraine ….I try to keep my profanity and slurs to a minimum yet every comment I post here gets reviewed so your software filters must be comprehensive
I use a VPN so that’s why I think I’m getting a flag. My comments go through when I don’t use one.
Nope, it isn’t the VPN. I still ended up in the queue. I haven’t even said anything obnoxious around here.
Don’t cry over late comments! They are worth waiting for…… and half the fun.
ZEROHEDGE TODAY
About 50 articles and on only 1 about Ukraine ie the Germany Defence Minister resigning.
You know the thing, she dresses up like a tank commander and rattles around for tough as Churchill photo op or is that tough as Adolf? Apparently a few hundred or something helmets not being enough support for Nazi Zee.
With 15,000 dead Ukraine & mercs a month “ Zee German ,” voters are correct. Even more correct if in the future it’s 15000 plus German dead a month (all with helmets).
How many more dead men, women and children, before this war goes down the memory hole for the collective West (but not the heart broken families.)
A bridge for a bridge a pipeline for a pipe line, hear the piggies squeal and squeal they surely will.
I am consistently impressed by the quality and intelligence of (most of) the posts on this site, compared to almost any other blogs I visit, a large part of the credit for which is no doubt due to Larry’s vigilant curating of what gets posted here. Excellent job, Larry!
One thought about possible negotiations to end the war: As the Duran lads have pointed out, the Russians have now learned, in spades, that they cannot expect the West to abide by any agreements. Any. Ever. Any trust of the U.S. and the rest of NATO that Putin and others in Russia may have once had is completely gone now, particularly in light of Merkel’s disclosures of how she hoodwinked Putin at Minsk, to buy time to build up the Ukrainian army. The coming likely confiscation by the West of over $300 billion of “frozen” Russian assets as penalties for Russian “war crimes” will be the final straw.
I suspect Russia will only be willing to sit down for talks regarding a total surrender. While it is quite possible that the Russian advance will extend across the entire Black Sea coast, to link up with Russian-speaking Transnistria, making Ukraine a small, rump state, it seems unlikely to me that they would have any foolish desire to occupy truly Ukrainian areas west of the Dnieper and try to subjugate Ukrainian partisans who will be ready to endlessly fight to the death, and try to govern a population totally unwilling to become part of Russia.
Unfortunately, even if Russia only occupies and absorbs the Russian-speaking areas of Ukraine, the Ukraine is likely to remaining a festering sore for decades to come, if NATO continues to feed arms to Ukraine, surreptitiously or otherwise, and the Ukrainians continue to shell nearby Russian border areas as they have done almost incessantly since 2014 in the Donbas, despite the Minsk accords.
While a total Russian victory might result in a settlement in which NATO agrees not to rearm Ukraine or allow it to join NATO, we know that any such agreements are unlikely to be kept as long as the same morons and imperialists continue to run the U.S., Canada, U.K. and other major European countries. Any such treaty will just be “a scrap of paper” in the eyes of the Western ruling elites, to quote a certain Austrian corporal.
The only truly non Russian area is Galicia, and Russians don’t want it. Poles do. I expect Russia to push all Banderites to where they came from, and let Poland take it. It will remain a festering sore it always was, and Poles would be sorry they took it, but they won’t let it go. Banderites won’t be shelling anyone because they won’t have big guns, but they would continue with terrorist attacks on Russians (and probably on Poles too).
I’m so old that my first home computer was the Osborn, i.e. before apple.
I never really realized this til now, but maybe it is true…My thesis: what if…what if the Davos Gang in D.C./Brussels and elsewheres didn’t foment this war in The Ukraine? Where would the World be right now, geopolitically? We’d have absolutely no alternative to the Evil Ones – the Soros/Gates/Schwabian Mafia. We’d be on our way to Toastville.
But guess what? They pushed Russia so far that they created for it an existential threat. Think about that adjective. It’s very important word. Existential in this context means a threat to one’s existence…EXISTENCE. That means fight or die. When you put people in that situation you have created your own Enemy – and a very dangerous one at that.
So thank God (literally I believe) for the arrogant, smartie-pants assholes in Washington and Brussels, and right now Davos, Switzerland! They’ve shot themselves in the foot and I reckon they still do not know it. In a card game there is a sucker at the table, and if you don’t know who it is, you are the sucker.
So I say, to quote that ol’ cowboy John Wayne, “Bring It On” boys! Whether we know it or not, we are all Russians now. Or slaves. Or dead. Take your pick.
As somene from Eastern Europe, I have realized that some time ago. Russia (and most of the world) was helpless against cultural colonization. Western brainwashing machine is working great, but it takes time. They got too greedy and wanted it all and now. The same greed caused the rot from the inside, which is what really kills empires. They need to have constant wars as a distraction from internal problems, but now they bit more than they could chew.
On the other hand, Rise of China/India and fall of the West was bound to happen eventually, but I never expected to live long enough to see it.
Larry, is this resolved? I posted several comments on your post this morning and they are gone.
