My U.S. readers who watched Fox News ten years ago probably remember Clayton Morris, who co-hosted the early morning edition of Fox and Friends. Clayton now lives overseas and is doing his own production. I was honored to be invited to appear on his podcast. Here it is:
Another first rate interview, Larry. Thanks.
If I may about your comment about food shortages and costs. For the past decade or more the real annual inflation rate has been closer to 8% than the rigged CPI one. Inflation is not up currently by 8%, which they now admit, it is actually pushing 20%. This area is also a narrative that has been as enforced as the ones you mention. The inflation rate is exacerbated by the sanctions, for sure of course, but most of it has been due to central banks doing what they have to do with a collapsing monetary system with an unsustainable national debt.
L.
This is great stuff! I can see why Bing, among other search engines, go out of their way to shadow ban Larry.
Thanks Larry, for another great interview! I have 2 comments. First concerning you mentioning Aircraft Carriers being vulnerable to hypersonic missles. I read somewhere (perhaps in one of Andrei Martyanov’s three books) that it would be more effective to use the hypersonic anti ship missles to take out the ships having Aegis capability in a carrier battle group. Then the rest of the ships including the Aircraft Carrier would then be vulnerable to an array of subsonic and supersonic missles as well as hypersonic.
Second concerning the insane degree of Ukraine propaganda along with the even more insane sanctions propaganda. How could both be so well coordinated among so many countries? I smell a globalist rat here as their wet dream of a 1 world government could never happen without Russia yielding her soverignity which will never happen. To me that has always been the real agenda.
Taking out carriers means taking out the air wings they carry. The modern US Navy depends on the air groups to wage war. There hasn’t been a war with ships since 1945.
modern carriers never proven to be useful in peer vs peer warfare. It is a relic from WW2 where carriers reign as queen of battle in pacific theatre , note that it is useless during european theatre. The only reason for carriers today is to show flag , intimidate natives and fight insugentx who barely have modern weapons.
against peer level enemy ? carriers would be totally useless and a prime target for HASM salvoes
LOL. Where did all those British jets fly from during the Falklands war?
did the brits faced Peer level enemy during malvinas war ? if the heroic argentinian have more than just 5 exocets the whole british fleet will be under water.. I can see you are blind to even basic facts , typical ignorant westerner who know nothing but spout nonsense every day
From the immediate resort to personal insult it sounds like your feelings were hurt. The Argentine Air Force failed to use naval bombs, their submarine force was maldeployed and most of the ground force were conscripts. Not to mention they never risked their own carrier after the Belgrano was sunk. Britain had how many carriers and carrier aircraft available for the whole operation?
I just can’t help but wonder, what if our idiot leadership were dumb enough to get into a hot war with say China which does have some hypersonic capability. And we can’t rule that out. What would the Pentagon ACTUALLY do with the Carrier Battle groups in the Pacific anywhere near China? Turn tail and get out of Dodge? Can you imagine the embarrassment after the decades of exceptionalist propaganda and $trillions in spending? Although if they were ordered to fight and got creamed, oops! How many in Washington would be pissing in their pants either way? Not to mention the reality check for the general public.
You understand the dilemma and the reality.
Here is a fiction book that deals with this very well. Its quite frightening because it is so credible and doesn’t read like fiction, more like a predictable scenario.

for all their endless promotion of carrier battle group advantage , the saner head in pentagon understand the folly of putting such high value target in the front lines of any peer vs peer war. their first move against china would be SSN sweep all across chinese controlled waters while holding their precious carriers back far enough to avoid getting blasted in the first days of war.
alas chinese ballistic missiles will still target them and sink these gigantic floating coffins along with their top gun squadrons abroad.
Or worst still……
A successful coordinated mass media/propaganda campaign onslaught, just long enough to turn the popular collective will of a stressed Nation! A bit like now really.
If the CPC could do that to Taiwan long enough for a vote to peacefully unify. Holy cow peace in China.
What can of worms would that open and in whose Country?
first rate interview, Mr Johnson. Just prior to this bit of truth-telling I read mr Martyanov’s referencing your thoughts on Germany’s Habeck. It made me compare the US/Nato military’s out of touch with reality spin in the mainstream media with Biden’s domestic spin “Putin gas hike”. With the exception of media democrat talking heads and social media trolls nobody is buying into that anymore – yet Biden’s most recent pronouncement uses the Putin gas hike term again. Obviously those state dept/inner circle advisers are as out of touch as the media military talking heads.
if you notice it , it is not just biden but every single american appointed leader (read : puppet) always blamed others for americas own problems.
this is the primary reason why there wont be any start of repairing the problems of USA. And this is why US govt will never lead america toward better america except toward endless wars.
america is doomed no matter who on the steering wheel , only a genuine patriot revolution / civil war / secession will repair america , at least half of it
Buntalanlucu, good points. I agree 100%
It’s not just the leaders, pointing the finger of blame at someone else is one of the few things Americans have in common
Unfortunately, you did not get to develop your thoughts regarding the possibility of civil war in America.
The real divide as I see it is rural vs. urban. The Republicans got about 80+% of the counties and the Democrats got 20-% of the counties in the recent presidential elections. Yet the 20-% still win the popular vote. Then the electoral college may or may not reflect the popular vote.
But how does a rural vs. urban split make for a new civil war? It is not like the civil war that separated the northern half the country from the southern half. So how does a civil war of two sides actually materialize?
Obviously the rural areas could starve the urban areas and cut off their energy and water supplies. But how would such a war ultimately conclude? It seems like we have de facto city states with hostility at the city gates. But I don’t know where that leads.
I would be interested if you dedicated an article to the prospect of a civil war and whether you think it would be rural vs. urban or something else.
I really enjoyed listening to your knowledge and opinion. Please do more of these interviews. Thank Larry.
Congrats from Portugal to these two guys for such enlightening exchange. That’s about the only advantage of the Ukrania issue: to have the opportunity to encounter so bright, well-informed and straightforward people.
