If you own Raytheon stock, sell. Russia has proven that the Patriot Missile is a dud when confronted by a peer military. That is one of the items I talk about with Chris Farrell of Judicial Watch.
I have known and respected Chris for a good while. I provided some tips to Judicial Watch about issues that needed to be investigated and they pursued those leads. Our discussion with my reaction to the Durham Report, followed by my update on Ukraine and Jack Teixeira.
In case you have not seen the video of the Patriot batteries that Russia hit with at least two Kinzhal missiles please take a look and count for yourself the number of Patriot missiles fired. Ukraine and many in the Western media are lying about the “success” of the Patriot in shooting down the Kinzhals. The Patriot system failed and I mean completely. As you watch the video you will see that 16 missiles are fired from a position adjacent to the letter “e” on the video. Then you will see some more Patriot missiles fired from a position slightly left of the first volleys (look at the spot near the letter “B”). Finally, you can see the approximate location of the third battery, which is to the left of the second battery.
Finally, you can see the explosion at the 2:14 mark in the video, which damaged and/or destroyed two of the Patriot batteries. It is important to understand that his is not an isolated, one-off attack. Russia initiated its own aerial offensive on 6 May and has been decimating Ukrainian military supply bases, tanks and artillery, and troops. I do not see how Ukraine will be able to mount a credible counter offensive to dislodge Russia from territory Ukraine covets because of Russia’s devastating preemptive aerial strikes.

My rare disagreement with my esteemed host. As to whether the Patriot works? What does that have to do with US military procurement? My tax money will be poured down the Raytheon shithole regardless of little things like do their products work.
And we got a sweet, shiny war with China coming. WooHoo! And the buttboys of NATO will buy whatever their Pentagon Masters tell them to. Raytheon may lose some sales to the Saud’s. Who already watched Houthi goat herders take out a Patriot with a drone and a rubber band.
But Raytheon will get contract after contract. The narrative is already starting. That 1 Trillion unaudited Pentagon budget? We REALLY need 2 Trillion for the China war. Dune the novel. Which taught me everything I needed to know about the world.
The spice will flow.

You are correct. There is NO correlation between the effectiveness of weapon systems and military industrial company profits.
Stock prices are surging for the companies that make all kinds of weapons, which have been shown to be of limited value in a peer-to-peer war like the Ukraine. The Russians managed to destroy over $700,000,000 of US equipment in just minutes.
Bad news for the Ukies. Good news for the MIC, which a.) insist it needs $ to “upgrade” the equipment (not really possible) b.) more money to increase stocks. The US will continue to dump this stuff on the Poles and Slovaks and others.
But good news for the MIC is bad news for the US economy, which is now in the biggest, baddest bubble ever — overextended in every area. When the Big Bang comes, it will be the end of “America” as you know it. Time for Larry’s New American Revolution.
This strike on the Patriots was, of course, theater. The Russians are good at that as I write here:
Paulo Guerra says
As today there is no correlation between GDP in the West and the wealth of countries. As even the ignorant McCain, if he were alive, should have already noticed! The wealth of countries has never been measured by consumption! Not even gasoline consumption. Although consumption of energy, gasoline, gas or electricity is a better indicator of a country’s wealth than GDP of Western economies.
The GDP formulation that includes ‘Consumption’ as an input is GDP-E: GDP by final expenditure. It is an identity.
Everything that is produced must have a destination – it must be either
C – consumed by the private sector;
I – Invested (or held in inventory);
G – consumed by government;
X – exported.
To the extent that there are components of C, I, and G that are not domestically-sourced, they must be Imported – so aggregate imports must be subtracted.
Y = C + I + G + (X – M).
That’s the GDP-by-expenditure IDENTITY it is strictly true.
The ‘other’ GDP calculation is GDP-by-Factor-Payments:
“TVA + WSS + (T-S)” – Total Value Added + Wages, Salaries and Supplements + Aggregate Tax – Aggregate Subsidies.
There is a third metric – CGP by production the full explanation of which is too long for a comment.
The primary ‘gap’ between actual output of goods and services and the GDP-by-expenditure calculation, is introduced by statistical chicanery.
Mostly it’s due to “hedonic” adjustments, whereby a current-year PC gives ~180% as much ‘benefit per dollar’, even if it’s used for the exact same task as a 1999 PC. Same’s true for motor vehicles and other goods which have a trajectory of improvement.
Meanwhile, there is no “negative hedonic adjustment” for shit that is getting objectively worse and more expensive: specifically, education, healthcare and government services.
The point is: statistical chicanery serves to understate inflation; overstate ‘real’ output; and overstate productivity. That’s what is was designed for, because Greenspan and his fellow-travellers saw the demographic landscape in 1987, and knew that they had to ‘gyp’ retirees by reducing COLA (cost of living adjustments).
The same is true of the definition of ’employment’ and ‘unemployment’ and ‘labour force’: the Tax Farmers – the highest-yield, lowest-effort form of husbandry that has ever existed – need a cosntant stream of lies to foist on their Livestock.
The USA will continue to buy as you say however export orders will dry up.

It looks like the Patriot system in Ukraine fired at many decoys!
One explanation could be that the Ukrainians saw the Russian missiles but the Patriot radar system could not lock on to it, and in panic the operators fired all 30 missiles before the system were hit, to avoid a much larger explosion in the airport of Kiev, where the Patriot system were located.
It’s also plausible that the radar was disabled first, to blind the system.
And in Panic the operators fired all 30 missiles in various directions (as we saw on the video) hoping that the missiles own homing system would catch on to “something” and hit it.
The Russian Kinzhal missile reaches the speed of + MACH 6, and the speed forms a plasma cloud before the nosecone of the missile. The plasma cloud makes the missiles stealth to a targeted air defense system because its radar energy is absorbed by the plasma cloud.
The only way to detect a hypersonic missile is to have multiple radars in the path of the missiles trajectory, to detect the missile from its sides, and send this info via the NATO AEGIS network to a SAM battery or ship in the path of the missile.
The next problem will be to intercept a hypersonic missile because of its high speed.
Carlton Meyer says:
Russia certainly has agents in Kiev who report the exact location of everything of interest.
Russia does not need agents in Kiev, Russia use electronic surveillance systems via Satellites, AIWACs, Fighter jets, and drones.
Carlton Meyer says:
Placing the Patriots there was not wise.
Placing Patriot batteries in the Airport of Kiev was wise enough, as they expected it to be able to protect the airport from Russian air attacks. But the Patriot system failed.
Carlton Meyer says
It was difficult to deploy personnel to operate a Patriot system in Ukraine.
NO. According to international Law it is illegal for the US to send military personnel to Ukraine to operate the Patriot system and shoot down Russian aircrafts. That is why the US has handed over a Patriot system to Ukraine, who then uses private contractors to operate the system.
This is not the first time the Patriot system has failed.
The Patriot system located in Baghdad Airport, was bypassed by Iranian missiles in 2019, striking the military quarters in the vicinity of the airport, in retaliation for the killing of the Iranian General Qassem Soleimani. As a consequence all NATO nations withdrew their military staff from Baghdad by airlift.
Saudi Arabia has also lost a Patriot battery, when Houthi fighters of Yemen struck it with a drone.
6 civilian Ukrainians has now been arrested and are facing 8 years in prison for uploading videos exposing the Russian defeat of the Patriot system in Kiev.
The defeat of the Patriot system, is another great embarrassment for the US and NATO.
NATO is currently implementing Patriot missiles and F-35 to be activated via the AEGIS network in European Nations. As the Patriot system has proven to be ineffective against Russian hypersonic missiles, the only thing missing for this insane expensive NATO plan to be in tatters, is if Russia shoots down a F-35 fighter jet.
I think you are wrong about how a plasma sheath works, and it does not, in fact, form any sort of stealthy sheath. The plasma will make the incoming missile look larger. Any plasma is conductive. (Ionized gas, not the stuff in your blood.) So it’s like a metal wall not letting radio waves go through, but instead acting like a mirror, and reflecting radar waves. When the radar waves reflect back to the radar receiver, the signal is stronger because the plasma sheath is much larger than the warhead. Also, I suppose a warhead might have a graphite sheath which reflect radar waves poorly, but the plasma sheath would make the graphite irrelevant.
The only thing that could defeat a hypersonic missile would be a super-hypersonic missile with a super-duper targeting system, and that doesn’t exist. Lasers would be fast enough, if they were powerful enough – and if such lasers were deployed. But again, a plasma sheath would probably reflect the laser beam. One reason lasers don’t work too well on aluminum airplanes is that the laser creates a plasma on the surface of the airplane, and that reflects the laser. I’ve read there are techniques, like a “one-two punch”, to punch through the plasma of vaporized aluminum, but a hypersonic warhead has a constantly-replenished plasma sheath.
The altitude is relevant here, and if you’ll pardon the pun, I’m a bit out of my depth here, because I don’t know if there is a plasma sheath on a Mach 5+ warhead in the lower atmosphere. Plasma occur with low density in near-space and it always created a “radio silence” period when astronauts came out of earth orbit. So … Mach 5 at, let’s say 20,000 feet and a bit less than half sea-level air pressure ? At that point the missile is going about 5,000 feet a second, so there’s only 4 seconds left for a response. If the plasma dies out at 36,000 feet, or 1/4 atmosphere, then the defender has all of 7 seconds to respond to a still-maneuvering warhead. Good luck with that defense.
A defender would need a huge laser like on the Zumwalt-class destroyer, except that was too expensive for the US Navy (!!!) and I think that didn’t work for other reasons, like reliability, and not being able to be constantly powered up.
10 to 1 says
Plasma can also absorb electromagnetic radiation like from radar rather than reflect it back as you have stated.
Thanks for the link. Let me summarize the relevant parts. The earth’s ionosphere is a plasma and exhibits the classical behavior of reflecting longer wavelength radio waves, and being transparent to shorter wavelengths. So “short wave” in the 3 to 30 MHz range can be reflected off the ionosphere and travel a great distance. But at a higher frequency, like the FM broadcast band, it’s as if the ionosphere didn’t exist, so no reflection and 88-108 MHz signals can’t go 500 km. The interesting part here is the absorption. There’s what’s called the “D Layer”, the lowest in the ionosphere and it can absorb longer wavelength signals. How it does that, I don’t know, but the D layer can be a very “wet blanket” below 3 MHz. There is a range between HF and VHF, where the ionosphere can either reflect or be transparent, but in this range the ionosphere does not absorb signals, apart from some exotic and ultra-transient effects. This wikipedia entry goes into speculation about modulating the plasma to make the warhead stealthy. I doubt that would work on a relatively small warhead, and probably not on a really large one either, and here’s why not: You only have 3 plasma parameters to vary: temperature, pressure and a magnetic field which can vary in orientation and intensity. Temperature and pressure are strictly a function of the projectile shape, its velocity and the density of the atmosphere it’s traveling in. Projectile shape can’t be a variable because it’s red-hot hypersonic and a fin, for example would cause tremendous drag before it burned off. That leaves a variable magnetic field, but the equipment would be far too heavy and bulky on a warhead. So Wikipedia’s speculation is on what’s theoretically possible, not what could ever become practical.
Nope, speed is what gets the warhead through air defenses. In general, the Soviets and then the Russians recognized there’s a trade-off between stealth and speedy, and they have chosen “speed”. Partly it’s because they have always had decimeter-wavelength radar that can in fact, see supposedly stealthy airplanes at fairly long distances. The West was myopic in believing that only much shorter wavelength radars were relevant – because that’s all the West has used since about 1950, and it’s possible to greatly reduce RCS above 10 GHz.
Plasma Stealth 101 says
The plasma sheath absorbs radio waves, and thus renders “the vehicle practically invisible to active radar systems,” according to a recent U.S. Navy research solicitation for hypersonic detection.
You’re right ! The US ought to gift the Ukies with a half-dozen F-35’s. And train the Ukie pilots, or some mercenaries, for only two weeks since we are always in a hurry, on how to fly the damn things. Then send the F-35’s off to Kiev or some other city where people have cell phones to take pictures of stuff happening in the sky. Some nice photos of the F-35’s landing with a brass band playing would be nice publicity for the US MIC. A few dead pilots would be easier on the eyes and on our hearts than hundreds of thousands of dead soldiers – and might help end the slaughter sooner.

One plausible explanation is that they saw they had incoming and fired all the missiles, to avoid a much larger secondary explosion.
Band Itkoitko says
That’s a strange explanation. It’s probably more plausible that the radar was disabled or destroyed first. After that, the system is blinded and one way to approach that is to salvo the missiles in various directions hoping that its active homing may catch on something and hit it.
Safe Harbor says
So, you think they were concerned about damage to the city at large? I on the contrary, having observed their behavior for a decade and more and not giving a damn about civilians at large, think they simply panicked and hit 32 panic buttons at once.
Scott Ritter suggested that the crew had the Patriot missile system in auto launch mode and so it launched as fast as was practical. Note that Krinzhal fires off decoys as it comes down.
Carlton Meyer says
Yes, the Patriot has an AI robo mode that they probably used since the activity was so great. Mass missile attacks always overwhelm air defense systems. They should hide Patriots in the countryside and use them on occasion to down expensive aircraft when a target appears.
The incoming speed of hypersonic missiles change as the air density changes. Even if slowed to Mach 5 a Patriot firing at Mach 3 means a Mach 8 closure rate so the Patriot must explode at a very exact distance in front of an incoming missile. A difficult if not impossible effort as these $5 million Patriot missiles are wasted.

It was difficult to deploy personnel to operate a Patriot system in Ukraine. All repair work must be done in Germany, but probably the USA. By repair I mean replacement.
The Patriot like all SAM systems is designed to shoot down subsonic maneuvering aircraft. It can detect an incoming supersonic missile, but launching and destroying it head-on within seconds is difficult, if not impossible.
Its missiles use a proximity fuse to blow up near its target. So an explosion in the sky does not mean it hit something. And even if hit by some fragments, the missile still continues downward and strikes.
If one follows various daily war report channels, all agree the Bakhmut battle will be over this week.
Not directly about the war but about energy in the EU:
European natural gas under 30 euros per MWh, a first since June 2021
European natural gas continued to fall and hit a new low for nearly two years on Thursday, as the market remained well supplied, with comfortable storage levels in Europe and rising temperatures dampening demand.
Around 2:00 p.m. GMT (4:00 p.m. in Brussels), the Dutch TTF futures contract, considered the European benchmark, was trading at 29.90 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), shortly after reaching 29.85 euros per MWh, a higher price. seen since June 2021.
My question is: is the EU manipulating (rigging the pricing, or if not, how can that be possible after all the dooms we heard frome some ‘experts’)?

It is summer. German industrial output in energy-intensive industries is down 13%
As above, most of Europe does not need to heat, but air-conditioning season haven’t started, solar power works and German energy intense industry is down. (Fertiliser shortage anyone?)

Paul hit it. The German factories are shut down. The weather is mild. And Germany and Europe regardless of sanctions are buying sheep dipped Russian oil and gas with both hands. Unless it is a hard winter, they survive again. WITH industry shuttered in. The Fourth Reich of Germany will fall again. German products were already ludicrously overpriced. And with their high social mommy state costs? And their continual welcoming of African refugees? Who will never work? Germany de-industrializes this decade. And Germany was the pocketbook of Europe. Greece broke. Italy broke. France neutral to broke. The UK is a shambling dead man walking economy. The EU is doomed.
Actually, I completely understand their support of Ukraine. Once they started? Their only chance of survival is breaking Russia up and stealing its resources. That won’t happen. But it would be the only way Europe survives economically.

Also when Chris started down the road with a Hannityesque implication that Putin would have been afraid to invade Ukraine under Trump, you deftly added context about how Putin tried for years to reach a reasonable accommodation with the US re: Ukraine (and Georgia). The only thing left unsaid was that Ukraine is just part of a 30+ year strategy (from Brzezinski on) to ultimately vivisect Russia. Russia needed to intervene in the Ukraine because Russia deserves to survive.

Glad you mentioned « Military Industrial Congressional Complex » — MICC —since that was the original and accurate term. It behooves the military and politicians to keep wars and conflicts provoked, ignited, and managed so as to continually enrich themselves, even though their money is earned through the business of violence, conflict, carnage and destruction. Then the hateful and vengeful aftermath, the broken and terrified civilians, and obliterated societies only serve as distractions to keep the survivors busy whilst the instigators focus on another target population. Truly the MICC are beggars on horseback.
Michael Mccarthy says
This is great footage of the MIM-104 patriot system engagement. I cannot understand why so many missiles were fired, but based on what I saw, it appears the tracking system saw many missiles and fired at decoys. My understanding of the Kinzhal and Zircon is that once a missile hits MACH 6 to 7, a plasma cloud forms over the nosecone of the missile. This essentially turns hypersonic missiles into stealth anti-radar missiles because if radar energy is absorbed by the plasma cloud, it is impossible to get a radar lock on it from the front aspect and no return to the track and target radar. The only real way to shoot down hypersonic missiles is to have an AWACs platform or other radar illuminate from the side and then send this targeting info to a forward SAM battery or Aegis ship.
You are correct. The Plasma cloud renders the missile invisible. However, while not completely invisible from some aspects, it is almost impossible to get a targeting solution from those aspects in the time available. The Patriot travels just over 3000 mph. The Kinzhal at over 12,000 mph. The Kinzhal therefore can only be intercepted from the frontal aspect with this speed differential. This applies to Aegis also. The Kinzhal drops to target in atmosphere. at supersonic speeds (otherwise it would burn up). But neither Patriot nor Aegis have the ability to acquire firing solutions in that very short window.
gives a comprehensive – and to this layperson, comprehensible – description of how the hypersonic missiles move through the air. It is a valuable article, I believe.

Patriots are useless at taking down almost anything that flies! The success rate of the latest evolution is known. 30%. And taking them to Kiev was one of Ukraine’s great blunders! For what they attract like the Kinzhal. And for the buildings they hit! The only proof the Ukrainians showed of all the missiles they shot down on the last dam was the bullfight with Bayraktar 2 weeks ago! In a residential area in the center of Kiev.
Well, what else are they going to send to keep the show going? Flubber? They already tried that in the Patriot interceptors.
Paulo Guerra says
Sometimes it’s better to do nothing. Especially when we have no solutions. Kiev wasn’t obliterated like Baghdad because Russia doesn’t want to kill civilians and they will never have anything to stop Russia from leveling or hitting something in Kiev! So they should remove from Kiev everything that can attract missiles. Like all leadership and military installations! And above all the Patriots – 70% fallible – for statements against the US! Kiev just needs lighter AD to protect the electrical infrastructure. Especially from drones. Kiev will never be able to protect anything else from Russia missiles!
Paulo Guerra says
And when did the Patriots not fail? When they only have software problems like the F-35? And when did Ukraine, the US and the UK – with Putin’s cancers – and the western media in general, not lie about the conflict in Ukraine? The US media even accomplice the Hillary cabal in 2016! By the way, has the US media ever apologized to Americans? And Hillary? That last week she even said in Canada that as Secretary she was still tried to help Russia’s economic development?! After US bleeding Russia’s natural resources throughout the 90’s to London and NY!
But the utter failure of the most advanced US AD technology, the long-range surface-to-air missile system Patriot, and above all their backwardness in relation to Russia’s SAMs, betrays a much more important contrast. A defense military doctrine of Russia as the military doctrines of all countries in the world should be versus an imperialist military doctrine of the US, typically Prussian, which after replacing the British Empire in the World, has always focused more on the development of the naval fleet to dominate all Oceans of the World, with aircraft carriers and the air force itself to quickly project forces. And today not even a decent fighterjet manage produce for the blitzkriegs that also always characterized the US wars after WW2! And they invested much less in AD systems because they were never attacked in their territory! In US wars, usually not even artillery pieces need to be moved!
Which means that today, if the US wanted to reach Russia’s level of integrated AD, which began to be developed right after the Second World War, it would need at least two decades. And I’m not saying the US wants to. I think the US today would be happy if today they could develop a fighterjet with the reliability of the jets of the 80’s! And missiles like the ones that fucked up the Patriot battery in Kiev!
Everything we can read in the Western press about the conflict in Ukraine is simply a lie! A disinformation campaign the likes of which we have never seen in the “free world” and which I imagine costs many millions of dollars every day! But the amazing thing is that it works. At least in Europe!
DC, it was ’84 and I got slid sideways into a lab courier spot being set up. I meet the purchasing director to look at catalogs of coolers that would be suitable, blah, blah, blah. I noticed that said coolers are no different than the ones at the sporting goods stores (just missing a big name stenciled on the top) but cost three times as much.
Being young and exceedingly stupid, I suggested that we could save money by just going to the store and spending $25 out of petty cash to buy one. Nice PM explained the whole concept of RFP, bids, purchase orders and payment times and terms. Ss I said, a nice guy. It was in the middle of his lesson that I realized the price was three times as high was one for the object being bought, another one for the seller having to put up with the bills**t payment method, and a third one as a kickback to the purchasing manager for both picking the product out of a catalog and not finding a better solution for his company.
The purpose of the arms industry in America is to charge enough for the weapon to fund the necessary bribery to keep going and provide massive profits. It doesn’t have to work, that is what propaganda is for.
The news we get here in Tehran-Iran fully confirm the fact that the so-called Patriot defense system installed near Kiev is promptly destroyed. This isn’t saying the American arms manufacturers don’t have a clue about manufacturing and design knowhow. Let’s call it the 170 km that changed the world. One of the outcome of it is a Russia-Iran-Saudi Arabia and Central Asian Stans new energy cooperation system soon to emerge following completion of the Rasht-Astara rail track. First, some numbers ( https://t.me/fred33flint/612 ) with which I tend to agree.
Second, the big Patriot blunder.
US advertised them as the perfect defense. Putin was less generous, bluntly said they are worst than S-300. ( https://t.me/fred33flint/604 ). Now, the whole world could see that they fired in few minutes ALL their missiles in the futile attempt to stop Russian missile(s) coming towards their position.
What the Russian missiles destroyed it’s debatable. Ukraine and US said a paint job fixed the Patriot system, while Russia says the radar (main component) and five launchers were destroyed.
The argument goes back and forth but forgets the main issue. NONE of the ?32 AA missiles fired by the Patriot system hit anything, besides some buildings on the ground. Plus, each of the 32 Patriot missiles cost $3-5 million depending on the source you are reading.
So, the system itself is useless, at least against these types of Russian missiles. BUT it’s very expensive. Useless and expensive.

Russia has thanked Elon Musk for providing targeting and damage assessment support via his Starlink terminals
Raytheon stock won’t fall if they can maintain revenue and profits.
Failure of Patriot will lead to lucrative contracts to improve it, and to develop US versions of S-400 & S-500, and better short and medium range SAM systems also.
As noted by Paulo Guerra, it would likely take 20 years or more to develop a fully integrated AD system. Meanwhile, Russia and China will continue to improve theirs. Hard to see how the US can reduce their margin of superiority, let alone catch up.
The relative failure of advanced NATO systems in Ukraine is beginning to sink into the awareness of the dimmest and wokest of NATO’s military leaders. Coupled with the now obvious systemic lack of manufacturing capacity (due to insufficient numbers of engineers and technicians to design, manufacture, install, operate and maintain the machine tools and other production equipment required) to produce the quantities of precision weapons and dumb artillery and small arms, awareness of systemic inferiority will make these leaders averse to any kind of military adventurism for the foreseeable future. Who would want to go to war with less than a week’s worth of ammunition?
Unfortunately, that aversion will not necessarily extend to subversion and terrorism

Re your comment at Farrell’s podcast on the monolicity of American media:
Let me recommend
“America’s State Media”
by Jonathan Turley
Jonathan Turley is really a good guy.
His web site
has some excellent stuff.
What I find interesting is that the western weapons have been failing in numerous categories, even the HIMARS has now been countered even though starting off OK. Our media of course talks of their great success, as one would expect from a corrupt media that rarely published any truth.
So what we will get when this war does wrap up is the Russian block and their military customers locked and loaded with some very effective weapon platforms, and the West will be loaded up on all the 2nd rate US stuff assuming they can increase their manufacturing rate.
So that leaves us with a future where the western block may not have many victims left to attack if they are armed with Russian hardware. If so it will just fade away into insignificance.

Listening to the above pod cast, I felt Chris Farrell got it wrong on his view of Putin not being a threat because he’s “bogged down in a couple provinces of eastern Ukraine” That bogged down is acting as the sole governor to escalation. It is western propaganda that Russia is weak bogged down in Ukraine. That is where there objectives lie, not in Europe somewhere. World domination is America and the U.K.s game. If Russia was even thinking along the lines of going into Poland, the Baltic’s etc they would loose all the support from their allies. There Multipolar world order is based on mutual respect not conquest.

I counted at least 30 missiles fired before the explosion at one or more of the launch sites. The fact Kiev’s Nazi government is now cracking down on those who post such videos and thus contradict its multiple lies tells us that the Patriot system was put out of action. And this entire affair, including the lies spewed yesterday by some bimbo at a DoD news conference, substantiates the aptness of President Putin’s moniker for the US and its European NATO puppet states, viz. The Empire of Lies.
Russia just made article 5 useless.

Larry, you are always ahead of the curve. When I heard about the destruction of the Patriot system, I thought to myself, what would I give to be a fly on the wall in Raytheon CEO’s office when the news reached him? This would make a great SNL segment? Now we can see the irony in them naming it Patriot.
After the explosion at the 2:14 mark in the video, two further explosions occurred. It is worth noting the strange launch, trajectory and subsequent explosions at very low altitude of 2 interceptors. The clip continue for about 1.30 minutes and two big columns of smoke are visible from behind the buildings (from where there were the launches). It is the same video (from the same camera) here reported, but but with an additional 90 seconds. It is very odd that it is possible to repair a damage so quickly after those huge explosions.

Just read from this site:

Where did those 30-odd Patriot missiles land after they expended their fuel?
Some random friendly fire or……….. Ukraine is just one large collateral damage zone?
just saying says
Anti air systems tend to have self destruct mechanism in order to explode before they hit the ground (exception being machine guns). Those Ukrainian S-300s hitting ground all the time are malfuctioning, or have been messed with. There are some photos of some Patriot fragments in Simplicius’ article linked in multiple posts here.
I think the narrative above confuses “launchers” with the word “battery”. A “battery” consists of a radar, a command module, and multiple launchers. Assuming the launchers were spread out, it is an open question whether the Russian attack left a few launchers untouched. But we can be sure the Russians know from satellite surveillance.
I counted 30 Patriot missile launches in the video as the battery tried to save itself by salvoing its missiles. (If you have a better count, please let us know). Regardless, if the Kinzhal hypersonic missile (or missiles) took out the radar and command module, it took out the battery. The launchers and missiles are useless without the radar and command module.
After counting missiles in the salvo, I find it hopeless to guess how many Patriot launchers and missiles were in the original Patriot battery in Keiv. According to the Internet, the number of missiles in a Patriot launcher depends on whether the missiles are PAC-3 or MRE … or a mix of the two.
Do we know the types and numbers of Patriot missiles the US and Germany delivered to Ukraine?
M902 launchers employing regular PAC-3 CRI ammunition.
US Attorney John Durham’s dump on Civil Rights
He and his report are Disaster for US Civil Rights.
And, allows institutions to claim from here to eternity: that since no one will be charged with crimes — key among them, violating our civil rights – and saying nothing that bad happened at all.
Purpose of the Democrat And Republican Party’s all out war on Trump and MAGA [via Russiagate, Impeachmentgate, etc.] — and their war against the rest of us ‘average Americans’ — was to make all of our views and opinions Socially Unacceptable, and therefore subject us to shame and ridicule and violence and in the case of Jan6: Incarceration! [With added “benefit” of allowing corruption on steroids to now waft across the land unimpeded.]
Durham Report says this is OK, since Durham does not see, or can’t do anything assuming he sees [since he is a cog in the wheel to keep us divided and so his is one more piece of gaslighting] – cannot and won’t do anything directly involving: the consequences of what happens when Civil Rights are not important — to Durham, the government and its action are legitimate since they committed zero crimes that he could prosecute — and he says there will be no accountability, because there is nothing for anyone to be held accountable for.
And worse, a sitting US President, Donald J. Trump, did ZERO while he was in office to man up and do the right thing — when he had the power and authority and mandate to do so. Blogs that have done great work, especially Sundance, cannot grasp how the man we voted for in 2016 was not up to the job, and enabled a DOJ and FBI and CIA etc. run-amok, and they ran amok all over us. And it’s worse now, and getting more and more out of control.
Trump, who enabled this while claiming he would stop it.
Even Zelensky jerked Trump [as did Merkel and Hollande and the British]. Trump told Zelensky to negotiate with Russia in 2019 — Zelensky ignored Trump [as did Merkel and Hollande and the British] — because Trump was not actually in charge of his own government.
And then Democrats and Republicans in Congress impeached him for telling Zelensky to negotiate with Russia. And don’t say these things did not happen.
The United States Corporation of 1871 is an aircraft carrier, not a speedboat. It would take much longer than four years to turn around the last 60. President Trump was sabotaged before he was sworn into office. Traitor McCain arrived in Ukraine in December/2016 to undermine President Trump before he was sworn in. The deep state surrounded and flooded his administration with their people. It’s difficult to clean up an agency at the same time you need services they still provide. Ask any CEO how difficult it is to change a culture that has been ingrained for years.
Warren Buffet said when great management meets a company with a bad culture, the culture wins. That is extremely true. I’ve known of CEOs who have had to basically shut down a company, lay off all personnel and then start hiring new people to get rid of the bad culture. And then fight lawsuits because they didn’t rehire the troublemakers. Try it with the United States Corporation of 1871. You can’t shut it completely down
I said long before Melania descended the escalator, the only time the demoncrats and rinos would work together the most is if we had an independent President…to undermine him. President Trump was the closest we came to that and look what happened. Who sabotaged him on repealing obamacare? Traitor McCain! Just try to live your life when your phones are tapped and your home is bugged. Now try to run a country like that with msm ready to pounce at every little thing they are told to criticize you on.
President Trump put in a lot of executive orders that are still in place and are in the “more will be revealed” category. I have to keep reminding myself patience is a virtue. Ask yourself, why are they fighting tooth and nail to keep him out? I know he isn’t perfect but could it be they are so disgustingly corrupt that they know if he gets in again, his first tool is a wrecking ball? I’m curious to see how fast that 82% put their other passports to use.

“If you own Raytheon stock, sell. Russia has proven that the Patriot Missile is a dud when confronted by a peer military. ”
No surely if you don’t own Raytheon stock – BUY. US defense is about to put in massive orders for a better system that will cost 10x the price of the Patriot. (it won’t work either, but that ain’t the point).
Maybe buy the other MIC companies too, to cover all those who might get the orders.
Why Ukraine keeps attacking Russian troops when they argue that this is a Russian invasion and land grab is the question to ask.
Now we even have massive arms storage in Ukraine to prepare for a further attack on Russian troops (which plays into Russian hands just as soon as those arms leave Poland).
Simple conclusion This has ALWAYS been a Ukrainian attack on Donbas and Russia.
Right from the start (when the CIA were pre-announcing the false flag that would initiate it). The Rhetoric from April 2022 has always been about Ukraine attacking Russia.
Russia just pre-empted the start.
Ok,Ok but have you seen the new “PATRIOT PAC5”
OT but I’m sure this’ll raise a smile:
Charles E. Fromage says
LOL. Do NOT sell your Raytheon stock. Buy more
We all know the MIC / neocon response will be to double-down. They will call for even more bloated military budgets, they will offer “new and improved” (and more expensive) versions and tell you “democracy is at stake.” And the USA has (for now) the world’s reserve currency and willingness to blow-out debt to fund even more weapons.
I don’t think any of us can play this football game over and over anymore. You put your whitey tighties on and get your beer and pizza night going, (the Friday Nights fiasco over and over again) whereby you root for the Elephants against the Donkeys or Donkeys against Elephants and whatever the favored quarterback player happens too be!
It just cost too much.
Half the time, I wonder who the hell Donald Trump is talking too in his many diatribes???
The king makers, the Oligarchs or is it to us, the American people???
Seriously, we have to stop fighting each other in this regard. If Trump is serious about getting the US out of the “deep state” than perhaps Trump should chose Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as his VP because if Trump choses Governor Ron DeSantis, then we go back to deep state control. End of stories.
Dan Farrand says
Interesting to watch that video again. Notice the trajectory of the missile launches. Patriots launch/leave the canister at a slight angle and then begin their manuevers. The launches from the 2nd launcher are further away so we can see the missile track appears almost vertical.
Kinnzhal terminates it’s attack by coming almost straight down on it’s target. Since the battery was the target, it makes sense that its interceptors would be headed straight up.
These are supposed to be the latest variant of Pac3’s – no explosive warhead – kinetic kill vehicles. They have to hit the incoming target to destroy it.
The thing to remember is that the US likely knows how the interceptors performed. Without knowing, I would presume the interceptors are sending back loads of telemetry and all the data the entire system produces is recorded for later analysis.
So the Russians know and the Americans know that the Russians know. None of us in observer land know.
I do feel sorry for the young Ukrainian lady who posted this video and is now a guest of the SBU. If the pictures I’ve seen of her on the net are real, she looks like she could have used a good meal or 2
Let’s wager bets how Russia will shoot down the first F16s the US is planning on sending to their criminals in Kiev.
Russia extended an Olive Branch to “the west”, “the US”, “ZATO”, whatever you prefer to call them numerous times.
Now I hope they have chosen to break the branch in half and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine to all these actors.
As an American I’m discusted by the “den of theives” in Washington DC, the corruption is so rampant they know each other are all guilty so they use the Media to spread Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt (FUD) to further divide us.
These so called leaders, elites and Ivy league trained think tankers need to be removed if normal people across the world want peace.
Not sure what will force Americans to finally react but I have some “red lines”, once crossed a different reality goes into effect!
I suggest everyone make their own personal “red lines”. Good day!

Is Zaluzhnyi dead? The Ukrainian offensive, which is primarily a photo op, usually features him quite a bit. And now, radio silence. The story has been. “He’s busy”..
In any case, who is #2 for the UkroNazi’s? My Google Fu may be weak, but I cannot find a Chain of Command for the Uke’s. And no mention of who the next commander might be. I understand they slavishly follow US orders, but who will be the message boy? And will this be a rift between the Neonazi’s and the professional military corp? This is rather important. I imagined the end game would be a military coup against Zelensky and a deal cut with the Russians. Whether the US wanted it or not. If a real swastika waver gets in this will definitely go to the last Ukrainian.
I sent him a Facebook friend request, but no answer lol.

Busy vacationing in Cypress, apparently.
Doubtless recharging the batteries before he crowns his career with The Great UkroNazi Offensive…
… or maybe he decided to sit this one out, lest he inspire some poet…
Into the valley of death, rode the remaining 50(or so) thousand…
With Zelensky on an oddly extended tour of the planet, Zaluzhny cavorting in Cypress, and Syrski (ground forces commander) apparently having disappeared, it’s looking a lot like the top of the Kiev regime saw that the light was an oncoming train and ducked out of the tunnel.
Paulo Guerra says
On vacation in the middle of a war? He must be on vacation with Syrski and Bandera. And the comedian trying to escape traveling. And it looks like the Patriots are off in Kiev today. They must still be repairing the painting.
HMS Terror says
Numerous Telegram channels, incl UA channels are now voicing a growing suspicion/belief that Zaluzhny is either dead, or fighting for his life under the care of foreign doctors. The assumption is that he was at the AFU’s HQ near Pavlograd when the Russians slammed it with a massive missile attack, destroying the HQ and killing many officers, and his absence since is speaking volumes.
Whether the Russians knew or suspected he was there is a matter of conjecture. That they knew that a high level meeting was taking place there seems beyond doubt. If Zaluzhny has indeed been incapacitated/killed, revealing it would deal a body blow to morale amongst the AFU’s rank & file. There is simply no-one near his stature to take over.
Neither Zaluzhny nor Syrski have been seen publicly since the strike on May 8, such photos and interviews as have surfaced being either proven or suspected as old.
FWIW, I think one or both were hit. If one only, the other has understandably gone underground. Meanwhile Zelensky has vacated his offices in Kiev to hide in the public spotlight on a highly publicized if oddly extended tour of the world. It is unclear when, or even if he’s returning to Kiev.
Despite devastating losses, the AFU’s willingness to continue fighting against all odds cannot be denied. Whether they continue after the simultaneous loss of Bakhmut and Zaluzhny remains to be seen. I’m thinking that collapse is but a press release away.
As competent opportunists bail, empire’s blind zealots are in charge.
The decision of the G7 countries to send F-16’s to Ukraine possibly could clear up some of the illusion-delusion confusion in some US minds regarding Ukraine’s prospects for success using its new weapons. The destruction of the F-16s may remove some of the doubt, if they even make to Ukraine in time. I agree with Douglas MacGregor that Russia will finish Ukraine with a sustained and massive force before winter and make new weapons useless and foolish. If the US still insists on funneling more money into the pit, they are beyond foolish. I have a hard time believing the lack of public outrage so far. I guess the FBI and DOJ have done their jobs of squelching dissent and intimidating any rebels.
I’ve read somewhere that this version of Patriot uses missiles that rely on direct head-on impact rather than a proximity fuse or anything like that.
Why Ukraine Must Lose to Save the World .
